Just a random thought I had about clue scrolls. What if a money sink was created to where players could turn there clues automatically into reward caskets for a certain amount of GP.

For example,

Easy clues > 500k

Medium Clues > 2m

Hard Clues > 5m

Elite Clues > 10m

Quite a few people have dozens of clues and some people including myself just tend to get lazy after doing a few of these in a row.

This also may be helpful for Iron men considering they have nothing to really spend there GP on.

I don't think it would really kill the content of clue scrolls considering it's a mix n match between the same eight steps. Would love to hear other peoples opinions on this.

like 2 days ago, i was intrested in how long some of my clues would take and to see if they would be worth doing.

this is how long it took me:

22 easy clues:

00:54:04

25 medium clues:

01:57:15

10 hard clues:

45:21

10 elite clues:

1:45:21

so it took me a total of

5:22:01 to complete these clues and this is what I got:

KIuw0jY.png

So imo, at the moment clues are not worth doing, so i would really support the idea of making them easier by paying for it.

finally put all my banked clues to use

i guess irons with big banks could literally just flood all the clue rewards though. so maybe some thoughts about how much this costs.

New NPC called the clue solver

Ooo.. I think it's a pretty brave suggestion but I honestly like it. I feel like it might be kinda hard to balance the cost of it though, an average could be taken out of clue rewards and that number could be multiplied by 1.5x or 2x and it would work fine, bring more items into economy + take money out.

In any case, could always make it cost a ton and worst case scenario it's just a possible money sink, which can't be bad.

Excellent idea!

I'll play off your idea here.

We set this up with an NPC to solve your clues.

The NPC will be busy solving your clue, unavailable for additional solutions until he solves it.

After the clue comes back you can pay to trade him the reward casket.

The money will be traded away and you receive the clue scroll casket.

Additional idea: Elites may sometimes lead the NPC to come back stumped, and trade you the half-completed clue back for some money in his attempt.

Thanks for the suggestion! Let me know what you all think!

I like the idea, 10m seems a little high for an elite though with how cheap even the best rewards from it are.

I agree clue scrolls need some adjustment however I feel simply shortening the amount of steps may be a better solution to this :)

alternatively allowing multiple clues to be completed at once could be a good solution

Yeah a friend of mine @Yeitsme suggested that it may be better to pay to skip a step rather then pay to have the casket. Regardless, clue scrolls definitely need an upgrade.

I definitely support this. Although, I think the prices should be lowered. It is a great idea tho.

Maybe, it should vary per game mode.

Classics and Ironmen should share the same costs.

  • 100k per easy
  • 200k per medium
  • 350k per hard
  • 500k per elite

Just my thoughts,

John

I'd support like 100/500k but 10m is to high.

Currently clues aren't being utilized - not sure if this method is the answer though

It would be a nice money dump however.
