Poll: Elite/Duo Ironman Mode (278 member(s) have cast votes)

Would you like to see a new Ironman mode, which will have a low experience rate (5x or less) and possibly a "duo/partner" feature?

Should a "Duo/Partner" feature be added to this mode? This simply means that you can select (1) player to be your partner, with which you can trade with. You cannot trade with anyone else, and you cannot change your partner.

This idea very awesome, but how about current account? if its come for real i have to quit and make new ,,elite'' ironman cuz normal ironman not gonna feel as real ironman :/ or just let people switch to elite ironman once and make everything from scratch again, i dont want to make another account and switch donation to new one.

IF your partner quits, then you will just continue to play without them. It is up to you to choose who you want to play with, so choose wisely. Plus, even if your partner quits, i'm sure it will still be a blast without them. 

This is exactly what I was thinking. I know that duo-ironman was not something that was fully in thought, but we found a way to incorporate it into Alora as well as the Elite Ironman Mode. 

 

I think that Duo would be cool but personally I would rather just play elite myself.

Hey guys,

 

Lately, many people have been talking about the possibility of a new ironman mode, with the main ideas being a lower experience Ironman (without having to be an HCIM) and also perhaps a "Duo-ironman" functionality to be able to have a partner for your account. 

 

We already have many game modes, so we won't be adding two entirely separate game modes at once. On top of that, if we simply add Elite ironman with a lower experience rate and no other differences, it isn't all that different since you can play HCIM with only the death restriction (not too difficult to work around). So with that in mind, we'd like to provide some other new aspects to this game mode, with these being the possible ideas:

  • An even lower experience rate, for those who want more of a challenge (around 3x)
  • The possibility of having a partner (duo/partner mode), which will be optional
  • Disallowing usage of Vote books and/or other experience boosts (eg. Well of goodwill)

 

The name "Elite ironman" is not yet set in stone, and it may end up being "Duo Ironman" or even something entirely different depending on how the community feels about it. We'd love to hear your opinion on this game mode, as well as any additional ideas you may have for it.

I feel as though the duo partner thing would work but what if your partner quits? Would you be able to choose another? If so maybe pay a large wad of gp for it

If the new Iron Man game mode does become duo/partner, which it will by the looks of the current state of the poll, will players still have the option to play solo or will they need to duo/partner up with another player in order to properly play (train, PvM, etc.)?

This currently only is a poll, on what the community would like to see, were such a feature were to be implemented.
There is no ETA on when this will be released and/or if this will be implemented, at all.

So for now, I suggest we all wait patiently to hear from Omicron himself, wether this new game mode will be added and when.

A big fan of the idea however the duo aspect of it im not keen on.. Unless.. you were to somehow choose not to select a partner on creation of account, but still have the option to later on down the road, would mean people who decide to solo the "elite ironman" mode, can still pick a partner if they want to.

From my understanding there is no exact ETA on when we can expect this mode to come out seeing as it is going to take a lot of work/testing to make sure everything is done right. I am sure Omicron will mention something once he feels there is a clearer sight on when we can expect to see Elite Ironman Mode.
