What is your suggestion?:

Add a right-click speed-run entrance option to the Inferno where all players would start on the same wave. Only times from this Inferno variant would be eligible for the server's fastest time record. (Slayer task allowed)

Is this in OSRS?:

No, but the Inferno on OSRS does not have different starting waves based on donator ranks.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

How would this benefit Alora?:

Many players enjoy competing for times and records on Alora and currently, the Inferno time record is gatekept by donator rank due to differing starting waves.

I’m proposing a starting wave of 20.

 

This provides consistency with the current starting wave for the Fight Caves. Super to Eternal donators start at Wave 41 of the Fight Caves.

 Super donators start at Wave 20 of the Inferno.

The image below shows the breakdown from regular donator to eternal donator.

 

 

Players of any donator rank would still be able to do the Inferno normally from their usual starting position for first completions, pet hunts, slayer tasks, etc. So, this takes nothing away from regular Inferno runs. The speed-run option would just allow players to compete for the fastest time record and allow a standard starting point for potential Combat Achievement tasks.

 

The requirements for this option would be one previous Inferno completion or at least a Super Donator rank.

I'm all for removing the "donor rank advantage" from the speed-run leaderboard. It's always seemed odd to me that there isn't a speed-run "mode," or some other factor, that would level the playing field in the Inferno since the record time is tracked on the leaderboard.

Also, setting the start wave to 20 would increase the difficulty of the run by making supply management more important, which I'm a big fan of.

Would like to see it. The leaderboards for donator dependent things are super biased. Also would like to add that I think the donator status is much more dividing than you mentioned. I start on this account on Wave 53. On my normal donator account, I start on wave 15. Never gonna be comparable in that format.

Not that I would have any chance of completing the inferno in under a 12 hour time frame or anything, I do support this. Would push a lot of players like myself to learn the best way to complete the inferno and in the fastest way possible. Great suggestion, Mack.

Support. The only problem I see is this is still locking it behind a donor rank. Perhaps make it so ANY account can start on wave 20, but only Super Donator and higher get the cape or pet chance at the end. That way there is incentive to get a higher donor rank but does not continue to lock the speed run time behind ANY donor ranks.
