Hi all!

 

The following suggestion is for all the shy boys (and girls) among us who just need that extra little push to show us, Alorians, their extraordinary talent.

 

Alora's Got Talent will be a contest among anyone who wishes to participate and must feature a 'talent'', which can be very broad but will most likely be limited to (karaoke) singing, playing musical instruments, and other forms of displaying their skill. 

 

The persons who participate can only post one of their preferred skills, having it recorded on whatever platform works, and then posted in a general thread, where other people can watch it.

The winner would be decided in a kind of French presidential election system. Believe me, honest, democratic elections.

The first round features all the candidates, and the best two candidates go to the final round in which the community can vote for their preferred candidate.

The winner would be awarded a prize, perhaps given by the event management team, or a small fee is required for everyone to enter (which adds up if over 50 people, f.i, would participate.

 

 

I have seen successful similar events like this happening on other servers, and, although I'm not sure if it has happened on Alora in the past, think it would be a nice and fun event to bring the community together and would be an interesting way to get to know each other's hidden talents.

I quite luck this idea, However how do we know that they haven’t taken a friends video off social media or something like that? You’d maybe need them to write Alora/Username on a bit of paper in the background.

Pretty much my concern as well with this event. If there’s a way to verify it’s the user on the video, and submissions are created and sent within a certain timeframe, then I can somewhat see this working. I’m neutral on it for now, but I’ll support it once this suggestion is more well-developed and structured.

I agree with @ Moral truth . You need to add some structure, guidelines, dates, and details. Sounds interesting though.

I like this idea as well, wouldn’t mind seeing it.
Of course there has to be a way to verify it’s actually the individual.

To all those who are concerned regarding verification of the individual, I wholeheartedly agree, however, I think that won't be too much of a problem; if you submit a video, you can write on a paper your username as a way of verification. To those who submit an audio record, I assume you could briefly mention your username at the beginning of your recordings.
