What is your suggestion?:

A notifier for players that are mentioned in-game + @mention highlights/bolds player usernames

Is this in OSRS?: Idk I don't play 07; Maybe a 3rd party?

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?:

The point of the notifier is to flash the chat tab when a player mentions another player. This would benefit players by allowing them to easily view when a player has wrote their name. The tabs will glow or flash when their username was mentioned. This would work for all tabs.

Example 1:

xFqLOPf.gif

 Example 2:

ZDtaNqJ.gif

I decided to make a few stipulations in hopes of eliminating any negative support (or lack of).

 - Mentions is a toggled feature

- Name highlights is a toggled feature

 - This feature only works by using @playername

(yes I'm aware my MS Paint + gifmaker.me example doesn't have the @)

- Players may only mention a specific player every 30 seconds to eliminate spam etc

 - Could even add a "News: Your username has been mentioned." notification as well maybe in a PM/Broadcast

- Offline players will not be highlighted but appear tagged

- Highlights and tab flashes only work for players that are currently online

I am fine with this as long there is a option disable it like you mentioned in the thread.

This suggestion might come in handy when helping in the clan chat. Supporting this.

Interesting type of suggestion. This seems more of a custom rather than keeping it all original, but it doesn't seem to sway too far away from maintaining the OSRS feel. I'll go neutral on this for the being with subject to change.

As what Kaamea said, I'm all for this as long as you can disable it like you said. This will be cool to have no doubt though.

I support the clan tab flashing, name highlighting also, with the toggled feature.

After having my youtube name as T S, on livestream chats, every time someone says something with 'ts' it highlights orange lmao, so pretty much every sentence is highlighted.

But obviously the Corn could code it to be different, so it only highlights when the persons actual in-game name is highlighted, so for example if someone says 'its' it wont highlight the 'ts' and make the clan tab flash.

Ideally, if you were mentioned with @T S, it'll be coded to pull the username and not what is in that specific tag you were mentioned in. There should be no reason anything other than your username is highlighted. :D

Edit: I understand what you mean @ t s . Just need to combat the kinks.

Since I'm assuming it'll be a toggleable setting, I'm all for it.

If this was a single suggestion that Dan decided to put in, sure, I'd have to agree with you. If Dan were to tackle multiple suggestions at a time, that'd be a different story. I suppose it's a matter of opinion and I respect yours. Appreciate the response.

Not a huge fan of the flashing feature, but at least it can be toggled. Neutral.

This would somewhat be helpful for members of staff mainly, but I like the concept of the idea. You have my support, if it's included with a toggle.
