Hey all, there's been a lot of pointy pitchforks and torches in yell chat today with the removal of the free skip perk for slayer. A lot of overreaction, a lot of toxicity towards those upset by it, and a lot of arguing in yell chat. I'd like to make what I find a reasonable compromise between both parties here, since Omi has already stated they're talking about how to change it up to make people less angry.

 

To start, I'm not sure which side I stand on. Skipping every task I didn't want in order to kill the boss I actually needed drops from was nice, but it did seem a little OP (not that Uber shouldn't be OP, but increasing the tier to get the perk would be an even bigger PR nightmare). However, I feel for those getting Adamant dragons and not being able to skip because they just spent all their slayer points last night.

 

 

On to my idea:

Keep the free skip system in, but have skipping for free reset your streak. Basically meaning if you were $50+ donor you would still need to pay to skip if you wanted your streak to continue. This could be a second chat box option during it "would you like to skip your task?" "yes" "would you like to pay 30 slayer points to keep your streak?". Not sure how it would work for giving different donor tiers different options. Might need a new chat selection only visible to those eligible or something.

 

This would severely nerf the amount of slayer points you could accumulate per hour because you are missing out on the big point drops on key streak numbers. However, if you want 15% damage boost on Graardor for your tassy drop you can sit there for 30 minutes skipping for free until you happen to get one, only getting the miniscule slayer points for completing each task on its own and forfeiting the bigger bonuses.

 

This change would allow people to continue using a form of the older method (removing extreme tasks would be a fair compromise in this case), or choose to grind out some lesser desired tasks in order to profit off of slayer point shop purchases that may be rarer now that people will be getting less overall unless they want to do slayer the way Omicron would like (actually doing tasks you're assigned).

A much easier way in my opinion would be to add an item called slayer tickets. Now depending on your donator rank you have a different chance of recieving one at random from completing a task, ie 1/5 for super 1/2 for immortal, if you were to to be lucky and get one, and land on that 1/whatever you get the ticket in your inventory, now it can be consumed on tasks you really hate and dont wanna loose streak for, or saved up for weekends of bonus slayer, or whatever.

I think i like this idea a lot but i think to make it even more viable (and to add more donor perks) i would scale it based on donor tier.

Example:

Non- Donor

30 to keep streak, no free skips

 

Regular Donor

30 to keep streak, no free skips

 

Super Donor

30 to keep streak, 25 to lose streak

 

Extreme Donor

25 to keep, 20 to lose

 

Legendary Donor

25 to keep, 20 to lose

 

Uber Donor

20 to keep, 15 to lose

 

Master Donor

10 to keep, 5 to lose

 

Immortal Donor

10 to keep, free to lose

 

Obviously this is what ive thought of off the top of my head and numbers could be reworked but i think it rewards super+ and makes it so the super donors do not feel like they got scammed completely

@ Vape Tricks Not a bad premise but I think the tradeoff for keeping streak needs to be bigger. Would feel like its just there to say they didnt take the slayer skip perk away. Would need to be kind of cheap to lose streak otherwise the same people in yell would still feel scammed out of their $50

@ Gim supplys not what i said or what i meant. just talking from my own perspective. can only speak for uber rank as I am an uber. not trying to say it should only be uber+, in fact i specifically state that they SHOULDNT simply raise the dono rank req
