What is your suggestion?:

Add a 100 ticket limit per player/IP/MAC when buying lottery tickets

Is this in OSRS?:

-

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

?

How would this benefit Alora?:

In my opinion it's a bit unfair that rich players can buy a 50%+ chance to win the lottery. Sure, there's a risk involved and we have seen players with <100 tickets win huge amounts in the past, but we have also seen a majority of the time a player with 50% or even 25% of the pot win too and I've done it multiple times in the past. If the playing field is evened out it would allow everyone to have a chance at winning and make it a proper "lottery".

I do agree that the lottery is "rigged" if you wanna use that word. Anyone dumping in more than 60% of the pot is most likely to win. Now, that doesnt mean its 100% but still it will give them a much bigger advantages over other. I think its best to limit tickets to MAC as players can simply use a vpn or make multiple accounts to buy more tickets thus making this limitation useless. MAC is not easy to change so it would be a better system. Tickets can be up to 200 tickets per MAC.

neutral on this tbh. I've seen people win with low tickets, and seen a clan come together and dump in tickets on 1 account and split after.

Full support. I drop 100m every week or so in the lottery knowing there’s very little chance I’ll win when you have guys dropping 5-6b on tickets in order to win 8b. I think 500 tickets max per IP would be better for everyone and keep it more even.

I like this idea. It would allow everyone who pops in 100m an equal chance at winning this.

I've done this and won 2 lotteries in a row, obviously by chance since it's never 100%, since then I haven't participated in any future lotteries. I don't agree with it thought because limiting the lottery purchases only means smaller total payouts, making the hype not as big. Long term could make it just dead content, no one will get excited over 500m lottery prizes, vs bills. No support.

i understand both side :

allowing to buy only 100 tickets will lower alot the pots but would make it more fair for everyone ( i beleive)
i won a big pot myself with only 42 tickets iirc and it was a game changer to be able to buy ranks. thats what players want,

big pots and big money. making it 100m per player is very to low imo, but there should be a maximum for sure.

                                                                            and

atm when we see player just dropping 6b in and winning lotto b2b or b2b2b2b2b2b2b for somes other its annoying and unfair since it just make those players more rich. ( there is a chance for them to lose i think but doesnt seems to be that way most of the time) if you want to put a big amount in, its your choice but there should be a limit or a % max of the tickets you can have.you should not be able to have 60-70% of the tickets.

support on adding a limit, but  more than 100m imo

Support on adding a limit to the amount of tickets you can buy.

As much as I hate seeing "rich get richer," I do not think there should be a ticket limit. I feel as if there are work arounds with people pooling their money together anyway.

My concern is that it may make the lottery pools much smaller and eventually become "dead content." I am open to have a limit for a few weeks to test it out though and could change my mind.

Pots will still be substantial, and id say more willenter if they know they have a fairer chance

there isn't a more fair chance though because, plenty of players pool their money together to enter. With a limit on tickets you only need "x" amount of players pooling together to still give that group of players +50% odds of winning still. There will always be a work around

I am okay if people won by pooling their money together. That is still fair as anyone can pool money together with anyone. What is unfair is 1 rich player can dump in 50%+ of the pot and have a very high chance ( not 100% I agree but still very high) of winning the lottery.

A better lottery system or add more randomness to the system might make it more appealing to "poorer" players. Right now the lottery system is more of a raffle system. More tickets = higher chance of winning. Or increase the price of the ticket. For example, 10m - 50m per ticket or something like that.

Seems completely reasonable to address this issue.

I agree with varlant here, im afraid the lottery would quickly become dead content, and i think people who risks vasts amount of money should be able to carry a high risk/high reward. If there was on average 800-1k players on every day then maybe, but I think the lottery pool would decrease with each time and in the end become unattractive

I don't think this is necessary for two reasons.

1. The rich players who buy an absurd amount of tickets are taking a huge risk, and padding the pot a lot. Bigger pots make the lottery more attractive to players in general, and if these players wanted a 50/50 chance of doubling their money they could just chuck it on flower poker and avoid any taxes.

2. Mac/IP limits are not guaranteed methods to limit players.

Alternatively, we could implement a daily limit on ticket purchases per account (200 per day, per account, for example) that decreases as the lottery gets closer to ending, so that players can't buy out a lot of tickets right before the lottery ends, and it will give other players a chance to see the true value of the lottery pot. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in having, and I can definitely add it. This type of limit also allows to pot to grow bigger, since reach players can buy more tickets, but it'll have to be more slowly.

I think honestly this should be how we make this change. That way if you cant just enter lottery last minute with 90% of the pot.

I do not agree on this. When they chuck in huge amounts, it is more fun for everyone because the price pool is waaaaay bigger.

Doesn’t really matter how big it is when it’s only that size because someone has thrown enough in to have 70%+ chance of winning.

Instead of making it a daily limit, just add a limit 24 hours before the lottery drawing. I.E. Every account may only purchase up to 200 tickets 24 hours before the drawing.
