#410889 Memorial of Gabrifane99 -- +3b Drop party

Posted by Call m Daddy on 24 September 2021 - 11:08 AM

First of all I ask the condolences of the entire server

@gabrifane99 unfortunately on 15th September a great friend, member of Alora and loved by the entire Portuguese and Brazilian community passed away, he had a terrible motorcycle accident and we are all in grief.
He was a pure person , friend of friend and always willing to help everyone , so in honor of him , me @Call m Daddy  @Andcom2 , @cracatoa29 , @windsondom , @Iron Lcs1
@xMizticz and @MesutBrozil decided to organize a Drop-Party in honor of the wonderful person he was, always trying to help everyone, never minding about the pixels and always in a good mood and laughing.

Before finishing, we would like to ask that at the end of the Drop-Party to everyone not to leave and that they could SPAM a message in the chat saying:

In memory of Gabrifane99 , the good ones will never be forgotten.

All the tribute will be recorded and sent to the family showing all the love of a community, with huge sadness I leave you this message and ask for the presence of everyone.

Thank you very much for your attention.

REST IN PEACE  <3
  <3  <3  @gabrifane99

The Tribute will take place at Barrows on September 26th at 05:00 PM GMT '' Server time ''

#407009 Safing in wildy

Posted by CYBER AIDS on 21 August 2021 - 02:42 PM

Hello Alorians

Honestly I'm probably the most experienced pker in the wildy, you all dont know but I've been pking since Andrew Gower recorded his nan cooking bacon for the cooking sound.

I've met some of the brightest pking minds on runefest, names include but are not limited to, Odablock, 1013, Hamzawi, Mob and Westham. They've pretty much all agreed that this is a bit problem and is ruining the deep wildy.

Safing, a very big problem in the Alora wildy. Everyone is safing up to 115+, how are you supposed to get a kill that way? Surpassing your recommended amount of daily calories is not a skill. Showing how fast ur now probably sausage shaped fingers can move to your protect from melee prayer is a real skill that transfers to real life aswel. It's like clicking the 20 piece chicken mcnugget meal on the order screen as fast as u can.

Stop safing, it's disgusting, you're just showing how bad you are. Not safing, now thats fucking Runescape right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile to the admins bullshit. Men puke, men poop in the rev caves, men deliver their new born baby on the multi lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball Runescape fuck it chuck it game time shit.

Stop safing

#377430 Feedback October 2020

Posted by Kq head on 19 October 2020 - 01:21 PM

“The main piece of content CoX has been left in this atrocious state for over a month, so we are adding a new donator rank??!”

Eternal Donator Rank

Anyone else notice this new Eternal Donator rank? As far as myself, and many others in the community that I've talked with are aware, this rank was never proposed, polled, or even mentioned to anyone. Everyone I’ve talked with seems to agree that this is a clear cash grab, and honestly, a slap in the face to most of us. Moving on.. What perks could this new donator rank possibly even offer? Any perks that could possibly be offered to match the cost of the rank would be incredibly overpowered and game breaking. The opinion the community holds on donator ranks is already that the highest rank that is worth the cost is uber, so why would anyone in their right mind pay for a potential $20,000 (potentially higher) rank?

For an example, look at the drop rate differences from donator ranks… (While this is a very black and white example, it gets the point across that the rank truly doesn’t provide a benefit worth its price) The Corporeal Beast drops the Elysian Sigil at a 1/2697 rate for non-donors. For uber-donators, that is reduced to 1/2552, and for immortal-donators a 1/2370 chance. Estimating that efficient players can get 30 kills per hour, it would save an immortal-donator 10.9 hours when compared to a non-donator. A $10,000 donator rank is theoretically only saving the player approximately 11 hours, more than $900 per hour saved. Think about what master and immortal donators did to the CoX prices.. How much further can we buff drop rates before it gets to be too much?

What’s more realistic is that players (if any even tried) would try and buy the rank with in game gold, buying custom transfers. Considering the on-going rate for $100 custom donations is 3b gold, at a 1:4 rate it would cost a single player 150b gold to obtain the rank from scratch. The benefits that this new rank would have to provide the player to be worth the price would have to be so incredibly overpowered that it would break the game in no time at all. Not to mention… how many players could even afford to buy that, maybe 2? Even so, they would likely have to dump their entire banks to afford it.

Something myself and a few others in the community have discussed as a better alternative would be paying for rank transfers. We understand that there is a cost of running the server, and the players are willing to do that, but a new donator rank isn’t the best way to go about it. Players being able to pay to transfer their donor ranks from account to account is a service that is much higher in demand than a higher tier donor rank. Not only does this accomplish bringing in more income to keep the server going, it also fills a huge need that the community has been asking for. How many players have left Alora because they wanted to play a new account and didn’t have the option to transfer their rank to a new account? Countless players have offered $100 and more to transfer their ranks, and those same players might come back if this was an option.

Lack of communication

Take a look at Oldschool Runescape’s method for development and why the current version of OSRS is a much bigger success than its prior Runescape 2 (pre-eoc). They run 30 question content polls at least once a month, and develop content around the results. If something doesn’t pass their threshold of being approved by the community (75%), they don’t bother implementing it unless they further reach out to the community, ask what changes would need to be made to see the content implemented, and then make said changes. While on Alora, the last major content (content that exceeds the “weekly update” time frame) poll took place in September of 2017. It has been over 3 years since one of these polls were posted. Here is the post for those looking…

A development focused on what the players would like to see, rather than what content the developers would like to see. This is the style of development that Alora needs to implement. The players keep Alora alive, and players won’t stay when their thoughts and ideas aren’t being listened to. While Omi can, and should, make decisions for the server that he feels are ultimately the best, he should also take into account the ideas that the community has a strong passion for (ex: reworking Olm and ToB, adding nightmare instances and an overall combat system rework). Releasing content like Castle Wars and LMS are not what the players are asking for, yet they get implemented above all else and before fixing what the players are clearly asking for.

Instead of leaving the players, in the dark when it comes to “major” content releases, create development blogs more often. There were 2 back in July and August for the Chambers of Xeric rework, and it was very exciting to see an update like that just around the corner. Knowing what updates are coming and thinking about preparing for those updates always brings back my passion to play because it sets me on a direct path for a cool new piece of content.

Maybe development blogs are something that take up too much of Omi’s time, but there are a ton of dedicated players on the staff team that I am sure would be thrilled to help with the process of testing content and putting together a development blog for the community.

Side note. What happened to crack the clue?
ugKaxyC.png

Stupid update delays

This is one of the things that I will never understand the logic behind... Let's look at the most recent, and probably best example of this. The Chambers of Xeric rework is probably one of the best content updates Alora has seen in a long time; not only is it a good advertisement point, but it is also the cause of many old players returning. While I don’t agree with people saying “cOx iS iMpoSsible” I must admit I don’t see any logic behind delaying crucial bug-fixes, like the scaling of the top floor or the chests randomly disappearing for an entire month.

Another good example of this would be a very long time ago, when the skilling interfaces were updated to match OSRS. This update brought a crafting bug, that made the skill impossible to level early on, pretty much rendering the skill unusable for an entire week. Whether the reason is that a server restart would “annoy” players, or rather it was better to simply delay it a week so that the update would look bigger and better. It makes absolutely no logical sense.

As a player, all of this makes me feel so unappreciated on the server. To know that cash grabs and flashy update threads are clearly more important than the player’s experience, it truly saddens me.

I anticipate all of the discussions this may start, and I look forward to feedback from everyone within the community.

[18/9/20] Hotfixes

The following hotfixes have been applied to the Chambers of Xeric following the bug reports that we've seen. All reported bugs should be fixed, but if any other bugs are still present please report them :)

  • Chambers of Xeric fixes:
    • Building storage units will now properly build the rest of the storage units across the dungeon.
    • When leaving the Olm map (via the rope), you will now properly be placed at the last resource room.
      • Previously, you would be put either at the start of the 2nd floor, or sometimes even get stuck in a wall / black area.
    • Water-filled Gourd vials can no longer be smuggled out of the raid.
    • On Olm's final phase, if you kill one of the hands and the other hand regenerates, it will be attackable as intended. (It was previously respawning without attack options)
    • When crossing the tightrope to the keystone, if the Deathly enemies just died (in their death animation) they would still sometimes hit you. This should no longer occur.
    • Scavengers will now respawn after being killed.
    • Fixed a bug where guardian loot would sometimes spawn in a wall in the Chambers of Xeric.
    • Fixed a bug where if a player picked up a stack of 2 potions off the ground and only had 1 free slot, both items would disappear.
    • Fixed a bug with fishing rod drops within the dungeon.

    • Fixed a bug where the 1.35x Ring of wealth (I) clue scroll bonus was applying to the regular ring of wealth instead of the imbued variant.

    • The staff of the dead and toxic staff of the dead now count as zamorak items in GWD.
    • Players will no longer see the message in their chatbox stating that Dawn's hitpoints have regenerated if she is dead.

    • Fixed some object animations being messed up if HD was turned on on 2007 mode (eg. Hydra pools).
    • Infernal and Dragon harpoon special attack would sometimes go below 0%, causing you to have negative special energy and potentially crashing your client. This has been fixed.
      • You can also now toggle the special attack for these two items using the spec orb (previously was not functional).
    • Serpentine helm can now be dropped.
  • Quality of life:
    • If a player's bank is full when collecting from the Kingdom of Miscellania, the loot dropped to the floor will now be noted.

      • Justiciar chest guard will now fit better without a gap between gloves and arms.
    • Certain godward items (Bandos tassets, Armadyl chainskirt, etc) were appearing as different items when noted (potions). This visual bug has been fixed.
      • The placeholders for these items were also incorrect and have been fixed.
    • Upgraded items:
      • The following items have been upgraded to look like their 2010 variants:
        • Dragon claws
        • All spirit shields (Blessed, Elysian, Spectral, Arcane)
      • Last Man Standing items will now also appear as their 2010 version (whips, scimitars, equipment, etc).
  • Farming changes:
    • Belladonna patch:
      • Players with level 63+ Farming can now plant belladonna seeds in the patch near Draynor manor.
        • Belladonna seeds take about 120 minutes to grow, and provide 91 Farming experience for harvesting.
        • Harvesting the belladonna plant will yield cave nightshade.
    • Mushroom patch:
      • Players with level 53+ Farming can now plant Mushroom spores in the patch near Canifis.
        • Mushrooms take about 120 minutes to grow, and provide 61 Farming experience for harvesting.
  • Ammo saving changes:
    • The accumulator effects have been adjusted to work exactly like they do in OSRS.
      • That is, ammo has a 20% chance of breaking, which means it won’t fall to the ground and cannot be saved.
        • The accumulators each have the following rates:
          • Ava’s Assembler: Always collects arrows that haven’t been broken (80% recovery)
          • Ava’s Accumulator: 72% chance to collect arrows in any instance (90% chance to save an arrow that hasn’t broken).
            • The rest will fall to the ground if they haven’t broken.
          • Ava’s attractor: 60% chance to collect arrows in any instance (72% chance to save an arrow that hasn’t broken).
            • The rest will fall to the ground if they haven’t broken.
      • Note: The previous system worked similarly, so players won’t notice too much of a difference.
        • One notable difference will be that players using the Ava’s assembler, or any equivalent cape, will no longer see any arrows fall to the ground.
          • All of them will either break or be saved.
  • Autocast interface changes:
    • The following staves will now show their correct unlimited runes in the autocast interface:
      • Dust battlestaff
      • Mystic dust staff
      • Lava battlestaff
      • Mystic lava staff
      • Steam battlestaff
      • Mystic steam staff
      • Mist battlestaff
      • Mystic mist staff
      • Mystic smoke staff
      • Smoke battlestaff
    • If any other staves/equipment that are supposed to show infinite runes in the autocast interface are not working, please let us know!
  • Profanity filter:
    • Players can now toggle the profanity filter on within the settings.
      • This toggle will filter many inappropriate/offensive terms that other players say in yell/public/clan chat.
      • At this time, the filter is mostly only for terms that may be considered highly offensive or racist, so players should not hesitate to use toggle this filter on, since most words won’t be censored.
    • With this filter implementation, we’re removing the rule against using the term “Nigga” that was recently implemented.
  • Antifire changes:
    • Super antifire potions now provide protection for 3 minutes instead of the previous 6 minutes.
    • Extended super antifire potions:
      • Players with 98 Herblore can now make extended super antifire potions.
        • These potions require a super antifire potion and lava scale shards to create.
          • A 4 dose extended super antifire potion provides 160 base Herblore experience (40 experience per dose).
          • Each sip of the potion allows a player to have dragon fire immunity for 6 minutes.
  • Wyson the Gardener changes:
    • Players can now trade in their noted mole skins/claws with Wyson the gardener for nest boxes, as opposed to birds nests.
      • There are 3 types of nest boxes:
        • Seed nest box:
          • There’s a 70% chance of obtaining a seed nest when trading in a claw/skin.
        • Ring nest box:
          • There’s a 25% chance of obtaining a ring nest when trading in a claw/skin.
        • Empty nest box:
          • There’s a 5% chance of obtaining an empty nest when trading in a claw/skin.
      • Players can use these nest boxes to either extract 1 nest at a time to their inventory, or they can deposit the nest boxes into their bank, which will automatically extract all of the birds nests in the boxes.
  • Mining Guild Exchange:
    • Players can now speak to Belona in the mining guild to purchase items from the Mining Guild Mineral Exchange.
      • The items sold in the exchange are as follows:
        • Mining gloves:
          • 50 unidentified minerals
        • Superior Mining gloves:
          • 100 unidentified minerals
        • Bag full of gems:
          • 20 unidentified minerals
        • Soft clay pack:
          • 10 unidentified minerals
      • Unidentified minerals can be obtained by mining in the Mining guild.
        • The rates for the minerals are as follows:
          • Iron ore: 1/100
          • Coal: 1/60
          • Mithril: 1/40
          • Adamantite: 1/30
          • Runite: 1/20
          • Amethyst: 1/20
      • Players can also speak to Belona to upgrade their mining gloves into Expert mining gloves.
        • To do say, players will require a pair of mining gloves, superior mining gloves, and 60 unidentified minerals.
    • Mining gloves:
      • Mining gloves, when worn, will sometimes cause an ore to not deplete on its last life.
      • Mining gloves:
        • Silver ore: 50% chance of non-depletion
        • Coal ore: 40% chance of non-depletion
        • Gold ore: 33.33% chance of non-depletion
      • Superior Mining gloves:
        • Mithril ore: 25% chance of non-depletion
        • Adamantite ore: 16.66% chance of non-depletion
        • Runite Ore: 12.5% chance of non-depletion
      • Expert mining gloves:
        • The expert mining gloves have the combine perks of the regular/superior variants.
        • Amethyst crystals: 12.5% chance of non-depletion
  • Invisible item fixes:
    • The following items should no longer be invisible on either game mode:
      • Penguin mask
      • Goblin mask
      • Armadyl stole
  • Bounty Hunter change:
    • You can no longer receive a target that has the same IP or MAC address as you.
      • This is to prevent players from logging into the Wilderness on an alt and becoming their own target, which was blocking real players from having them as a target.
  • Impling changes:
    • Lucky impling loot announcements will now show the number of Lucky implings that the player has looted so far.
      • This count may be different from the number of implings caught, since players often don’t open their implings right away, or may buy the Lucky implings from others.
    • Players can now view theirs and other players’ impling catch count.
      • To view your own catch count, you can right-click on Elnock Inquisitor at Puro Puro, and click “View implings caught”.
      • To view another player’s impling catch count, you can use the adventure log in their house.
  • Bank changes:
    • Clicking the “Bank filler” option in the bank settings will no ask how many fillers you’d like to add, so you can continuously add as many fillers as you need.
      • This means the only way to clear them will be to right-click a bank filler and clear-all.
    • A left-click on bank fillers will now open the context menu (acts as a right click) instead of clearing the bank filler.
    • Left clicking the "Release" option on a placeholder in the bank will now cause it to act as a right-click, which will open up the context menu.
    • Players will now see a “wear” option just below the “store-x” option in their inventory when their bank is open, which will allow them to equip items with the bank still open.
    • Players will now see a “Drink” option just below the “store-x” option in their inventory when their bank is open, which will allow them to drink potions with the bank still open.
    • Players will now see a “Eat” option just below the “store-x” option in their inventory when their bank is open, which will allow them to eat food with the bank still open.
  • Tool Leprechaun Storage Changes:
    • Players can now store up to 1000 Buckets, Compost, and Super compost in the tool storage interface.
    • Players can now deposit noted buckets, compost, and super compost in the tool storage interface.
  • Last Man Standing updates:
    • Cupboards/drawers now have an "Open" option even after they've already been looted, allowing you to use a Bloodier key on them in late game to open them.
  • Chambers of Xeric changes:
    • Layout randomization:
      • Every raid will now have a unique layout and different rooms. There are millions of possible combinations for the order of rooms, so you won't get bored going through the same raid every time!
    • Tekton:
      • Tekton is now attackable while he is walking to the anvil.
    • Muttadile:
      • Players can now chop down the meat tree in the Muttadile room in the Chambers of Xeric.
    • Tightrope:
      • Players will now take reduced damage when crossing the tightrope if they're protecting the proper prayer.
    • Corrupted Scavenger:
      • You can now deposit all of your worms at once into the trough.
    • Ice Demon room:
      • You can now deposit all of your kindling at once on a brazier.
      • The Ice demon's shield will still melt even if only one brazier is lit, albeit at a slower rate than if all four were lit.
    • Vespula:
      • The Vespula chamber is a new addition, where players will need to try and kill the Abyssal portal in the chamber to complete the room.
      • Lux Grubs:
        • There are 4 lux grubs that are initially spawned when a player enters the chamber, and these grubs will slowly lose their hitpoints over time.
          • Vespula will also occasionally sting the grubs if she’s not being distracted (either when players attack the portal, or attack her).
          • If a grub’s hp falls below 0, the grub will hatch into a Vespine soldier, causing Vespula and the Abyssal portal to heal back to full health.
          • Players can heal the grubs by picking the medivaemia flowers from the roots nearby and feeding them to the grubs.
      • Abyssal Portal:
        • Players must destroy this portal to complete the room.
        • Attacking this portal will cause Vespula to be enraged, where she’ll come to the centre and start rapidly stinging any players nearby for moderately high damage.
          • Players who are under Vespula will not be stung, but will be subject to rapid stomp damage instead.
      • Vespula:
        • Vespula cannot be killed while the Abyssal portal is alive.
          • If a player gets Vespula’s health to 23% or less, then she will transform into a cockroach that moves on the ground for a set period of time.
            • When this happens, players can freely attack the portal without having to worry about her becoming enraged.
    • Guardian Room:
      • Players will now encounter the Guardian room in the Chambers of Xeric.
        • In this room, players will need to quickly attack the 2 guardians that guard the passageway to get through.
          • Damage can only be dealt to these guardians with pickaxes, and if a player is using the crush/smash attack style, their damage will be booster.
            • The damage boost is based on the pickaxe, as well as the mining level of the player.
          • The Guardians health will increase based on team size/average mining level.
        • Attacks:
          • The guardians only attack in retaliation, and only if the player is right next to them after an attack.
            • The Guardians will either swing their sword to attack a player, or use a stomp attack that causes rocks to fall from the ceiling, damaging all players in a 3x3 radius.
          • If a player tries to pass between the guardians when one or more are still alive, they’ll be pushed back, causing the guardian(s) to use the stomp attack.
    • Jewelled Crab Room:
      • In this new room, players will need to use the jewelled crabs wandering about to redirect the energy focus, in hopes to turn all of the crystals white.
        • Crabs:
          • There are 4 crabs that are in the room, and players can attack the crabs to change their color.
            • Range will turn the crabs green.
            • Magic will turn the crabs blue.
            • Melee will turn the crabs red.
          • Players can also right-click “smash” to stun the crabs for a certain period of time, that way the crab will not be able to move, making it easier to line the crabs up to redirected the focus.
            • This can only be done if a player has a hammer with them (including a dragon Warhammer).
        • Energy Focus:
          • This focus will constantly be emitted, and when it hits an Player/Wall it will be destroyed and re-emitted shortly after.
            • If the focus hits a player, it will deal damage to that player upon being destroyed.
          • When the focus hits a crab, it will take on the color of that crab (White, Red, Green, Blue), and be redirected 90 degrees in a clockwise direction.
        • Crystals:
          • There are 4 crystals, and each must be destroyed by an energy focus of a specific color:
            • The black crystal can be destroyed by a white energy focus.
            • The cyan crystal can be destroyed by a red energy focus.
            • The magenta crystal can be destroyed by a green energy focus.
            • The yellow crystal can be destroyed by a blue energy focus.
    • Resource room:
      • Farming:
        • Players can now farm the 3 seeds which they can get from scavengers.
          • Buchu seed:
            • These seeds require level 39 farming to plant, and will yield grimy buchu leaves when harvested.
          • Golpar seed:
            • These seeds require level 27 farming to plant, and will yield grimy golpar leaves when harvested.
          • Noxifer seed:
            • These seeds require level 55 farming to plant, and will yield grimy noxifer leaves when harvested.
      • Herblore:
        • Players can make the following potions:
          • Revitalization (+) (4):
            • This requires a Buchu leaf, a stinkhorn mushroom, a water-filled gourd, and 78 Herblore to make.
          • Prayer enhance (+) (4):
            • This requires a Buchu leaf,  a Cicely, a water-filled gourd, and 78 Herblore to make.
          • Xeric’s aid (+) (4):
            • This requires a Buchu leaf, endarkened juice, a water-filled gourd, and 78 Herblore to make.
          • Elder (+) (4):
            • This requires a Golpar leaf, a stinkhorn mushroom, a water-filled gourd, and 70 Herblore to make.
          • Twisted (+) (4):
            • This requires a Golpar leaf, a Cicely, a water-filled gourd, and 70 Herblore to make.
          • Kodai (+) (4):
            • This requires a Golpar leaf, endarkened juice, a water-filled gourd, and 70 Herblore to make.
          • Overload (+) (4):
            • This requires a Noxifer leaf, an Elder (+) (4) potion, a Kodai (+)(4) potion, a Twisted(+)(4) potion, a water-filled gourd, and 90 Herblore to make.
      • Prayer enhance (+):
        • The prayer enhance (+) now has the effect where it will provide 1 prayer point every 6 game ticks for 5 minutes.

#364944 [24/7/20] Theatre of Blood rework, New RuneLite Plugins, Windows/Mac-specific...

Posted by Omicron on 24 July 2020 - 11:46 PM

Hello everyone,

Today's update contains the highly requested Theatre of Blood rework as we continue to work on the Chambers of Xeric update which will take more time. We've also added 9 new RuneLite plugins to enhance your gameplay, which you'll find more info about below. We've also thrown in a bunch of bug fixes and QoL, as well as some other updates we're sure you'll enjoy such as Nightmare scaling and placeholders for many items that previously did not have one. We also added a Windows installer which will create an app that you can add to your task bar / start menu, as well as a Mac OS app that you can pin to your Dock.

In Other News...
We're aiming to release the 2010 Mode update later this week, as we had some testers on to help ensure that there aren't any bugs. We'll continue to test this week, and if all goes well you can hopefully play with the 2010 visual style as early as Thursday :)

  • Mac launcher:
    • Although the alora.jar launcher worked just fine, we've added a Mac launcher that you can install as an application. The benefit of this is the ability to have the Alora launcher as a dock icon that you can launch from anywhere.
  • Windows installer:
    • A Windows installer for Alora has been added!
      • This will install the app onto your computer, allowing you to create shortcuts to it or launch from your Start menu / pin to the task bar.
      • This app will also work if a user doesn't have Java installer, making it more reliable for new players.
      • It can be downloaded here:
  • RuneLite changes/fixes:
    • Merged the latest Runelite update to the client, more details can be found here:
    • Plugin changes/additions:
      • Equipment Inspector Plugin:
        • Players will now be able to use the Equipment inspector plugin, which will give players a new right-click option called “Equipment”, and when clicked, it will open a sidebar showing all the equipment they have on them.
      • Calculator Plugin:
        • Players can now use the calculator plugin, which creates a calculator in the toolbar which can be used.
      • Animations in densely populated areas are now enabled.
        • Previously, all players would have an idle animation in densely populated areas, however we’ve decided to enable all animations by default, and allow players to turn them off if they wish through the Interface Styles plugin on Runelite.
      • Door kicker plugin:
        • Players can now use the door kicker plugin to assert their dominance.
      • Death timer:
        • A death timer has been added to the Timers plugin, this will tell you how many seconds until your loot pile because public to everybody.
      • Players can now use the Friends chat plugin.
        • This plugin mostly has features to control clan rank icons showing up in various chat types.
          • It can also show you how many of your fellow clan mates are in the same region as you, and notify you when people join/leave the clan.
      • Login plugin:
        • Players can now paste their username/passwords when enabling the option in the login screen plugin.
      • Emoji Palette Plugin:
        • The Emoji palette plugin has been added, which will create an icon on the tool bar that players can use to see all the available emoji’s, as well as their shortcuts.
      • Fight Caves Plugin:
        • Players can now use the Fight Caves Plugin to see which mobs will spawn on the current wave and next wave in the fight caves.
      • Banked Experience Plugin:
        • Players can now use the Banked Experience plugin to calculate how much experience they have in their banks.
          • These calculations will automatically take into account your CURRENT experience multiplier (vote boost, game mode multiplier, well of goodwill, etc..)
          • We’ve added options to include the Group ironman and Elite ironman banks as well.
      • Inventory Setups Plugin:
        • Players can now use the Inventory Setups plugin, which will allow them to save their inventory/equipment setups, and click a button to do a search in their bank to pull up all of those items.
        • We’ve also decided to go above and beyond and give this plugin preset automatic withdrawal functionality.
          • This means that players can toggle a configuration in the plugin settings that will automatically withdraw and equip the items in their inventory setup presets.
            • This does not include filling a rune pouch with the specific runes.
    • Bug fixes:
      • Runelite will now change chat colors appropriately based on if your chatbox is transparent or not.

        • Previously, the overlay would look like your item was being dragged, even if your drag timer wasn’t up.
      • The Report button plugin's login timer will no longer be capped to 24 hours.
        • This was previously the case since on OSRS players are 6-hour-logged, and can’t stay logged in for more than 6 hours at a time.

      • Some players were freezing when the client was loading up, which should no longer occur.
      • The friends chat plugin would sometimes show Mod icons if you right click on your clan members in-game. Instead, it will now show the correct friends rank.
      • 2FA could not be entered on RuneLite (it would close the chatbox). It should now work as intended.
      • Trading Post fixes:
        • You can now search for items that would previously not show up (certain bonds, boosters, cooked food (eg. Sharks) and more).
      • Item search interface fixes:

    • Players now have the option to toggle the floating effect of the Pharaoh's sceptre on or off before equipping it.
    • Added a ::noobsown YouTube redirect command.
  • NPC combat changes:
    • There was a bug found that was causing NPC’s defensive stats not to change if the NPC transformed (for example, zulrah phase changes), which meant that the npc always had it’s initial defensive stats.
      • This issue has been fixed, so players may now notice that bosses that transform may be more difficult/easier to hit based on the combat style they’re using.
        • A notable example would be Zulrah, since previously zulrah’s green phases range defence was -45 magic defence, and 0 range defence, players could essentially use either style the whole fight, since the magma and tanzanite phases also were using those defensive stats.
          • These changes mean that players will hit far less often with range on the magma(melee) phase for zulrah, and will hit far less often with mage on the tanzanite(mage) phase.
  • Jewellery changes:
    • Players can now enchant Dragonstone bracelets into combat bracelets.
    • The following items can now be used to teleport in up to level 30 wilderness:

    • Player appearances will now be properly updated when Dawnbringer is deleted from their equipment slot.
    • The player orbs on the top left side of the screen will now reflect the proper hp ratio’s of all the players in the team.
      • When a player dies, their orbs will turn black and stay black until the phase has been completed.
    • Chest interface changes:
      • Removed the “Withdraw” options that didn’t work on the interface when right-clicking items.
      • Added a button to add all items to your inventory.
      • Added a button to add all items to your bank.
      • The loot from the chest will no longer instantly be added to the players inventory, instead they’ll be able to choose one of the two options to deposit the loot.
    • Players will now be warned that if they haven’t collected their loot from the chest before leaving the reward room.
    • Bloat Mechanic changes:
      • Bloat has had 2 new mechanics added:
        • Bloat will now randomly turn around when walking in the opposite direction.
          • This is random and can happen at any corner, even when he re-awakens.
        • Bloat will become enraged when his health is between 60% and 20%, at which point he’ll begin to run instead of walk.
    • Nylocas Vasilias changes:
      • Nylocas will now change forms every 6 seconds instead of 10 seconds, and will change to one of the other 2 forms, in no particular order (the forms are selected randomly).
      • Players can now attack the Nylocas when they’re walking on the webs, before they’ve crawled onto the platform.
      • When a pillar falls, all active players will be dealt 10-35 damage due to falling rocks.
    • Xarpus changes:
      • Phase 1 has been re-added back to Xarpus:
        • Xarpus will now start with 75% health, and spawn exhumes to heal him that players will need to stand on.
          • The number of exhumed skeletons that spawn will be based on team sizes, with the lowest being 8 exhumed skeletons for solo’s, and 15 for a team of 5.
            • This difference is due to the fact that the exhumes spawn faster for larger team sizes, while also healing Xarpus for less health.
          • The amount Xarpus will heal will be based on team size, with the maximum being 19 (solos) and the minimum being 9 (5 man team).
          • Each Exhumed skeleton will last 6.6 seconds.
  • PvP weapon changes:
    • Morrigan’s Javelin special attack:
      • Phantom Strike:
        • This attack requires 50% of the player’s special attack energy, and will cause a bleed effect that inflicts 5 damage every 3 ticks until the initial damage dealt by the special attack has been delivered.
          • This effect will also be removed once the player is out of combat.
    • Morrigan’s Thrownaxe special attack:
      • Hamstrung:
        • This requires 50% of the players special attack, and will cause the target’s run energy to decrease 6x faster than usual for 1 minute.
  • Slayer helmet options:
    • All slayer helmets now have the “Check”, “Log”, and “Partner” options when right clicking them in the equipment interface.
      • The check option will allow players to check their slayer streak.
      • The Log option will allow players to check their monster kill counts.
      • The Partner option will allow players to see who their current slayer partner is.
  • Wilderness supply chest changes:
    • Players who wish to open the Wilderness supply chest will now require 1500+ total level, as well as 110+ Combat level to loot the supply chest.
  • Placeholder changes:
    • We’ve added the placeholders to over 100+ items that were previously missing them.
      • If you notice any other items that don’t have placeholders which should, file a bug report and we can add the placeholders for those items.
    • NOTE: This will only work on the latest client version, so if you’re still having issues with placeholders, make sure you update your client to the latest version.
  • Nightmare scaling changes:
    • The nightmares health will now always be 2400 when the team size is between 1-5 players, and will then scale up for each additional player after the 5th member.
      • Previously, the nightmare would start at 2000 health, and scale up for each team member, which was a bit too difficult for medium sized teams.
  • Achievement Diary changes:
    • Morytania Diaries:
      • The “15% more runes from Barrows” perk has been moved to a reward for the Medium Diary.
      • The “30% more runes from Barrows” perk has been moved to a reward for the Hard Diary.
    • Skill requirements:
      • We’ve added any explicit skill requirements next to each perk in the Achievement diaries.
        • These level requirements will be crossed out if your currently level is >= the level required to complete the diary (including boosts).
          • For example, if the perk is “Grow 2 Redwood trees in the farming guild”, there will be an indicator showing “(90 Farming)” next to the task, and it will be crossed out if the player has that skill level.
  • Wiki banner:
    • We’ve introduced the wiki banner to Alora! Players will be able to find this right below their minimap.
      • Players can click the wiki banner, which will give them the option to left click on any object/item/npc to be re-directed to the wiki.
        • We’ve combined functionality for both the Alora wiki, and the OSRS wiki, such that if a player looks up an article that doesn’t exist on the Alora wiki, they’ll simply be redirected to the OSRS wiki.
          • This will be useful for most things, since they are similar to OSRS, however it will provide a lot of utility for content that’s more unique to Alora, such as the well of goodwill for example.
      • We’ve also added 2 right-click options on the wiki banner:
        • Search wiki:
          • This will trigger a search box that players can use to search the OSRS/Alora Wiki.
            • As with the other functionality, it will first check the Alora Wiki for a page that exists, and falls back on the OSRS wiki.
        • Add to Alora Wiki:
          • Once selected, players can simply click on an object/item/npc, and if that wiki page doesn’t exist on the Alora Wiki, it will re-direct players to a wiki creation page where they can fill in information for it.
  • Barrows changes:
    • Players will now have a chance to get a second piece of barrows loot when doing barrows.
      • These aren’t 2 independent rolls, meaning the players will only have a chance to get a second piece if they got a first piece to begin with.
        • For balancing purposes, we’ve the chance to get the second piece slightly harder than the chance to land the first piece.
        • If players successfully receive a second piece, it will not be added to their overall loot, but instead will replace one of the “junk” items, such as rune armour, runes, bolts, etc…
  • Completionist Monkey changes:
    • The Completionist monkeys will now have the perks of all the Achievement diary items available.
      • When equipped, the “features” right-click option has been replaced with the “Diary teleports” option, which will open up a scroll that will allow players to choose any of the Achievement diary item teleports.
      • Players will be able to slash webs with 100% success rate if a completionist monkey is equipped.
      • Players will receive the 15% Agility bonus when wearing the monkey.
        • This does not stack with the Karamja gloves.
      • The Completionist monkey will now have the same perks as the Varrock Armour 4 (Acts as prospector top, and has a chance to provide an extra ore when mining).
      • The Completionist monkey will now provide the chance to catch an extra fish (Rada’s blessing perk).
  • Farmer’s Blessing expansion:
    • We’ve added 4 new Spirit tree patch teleports to the Farmer’s Blessing:
      • Brimhaven Spirit tree patch.
      • Port Sarim Spirit tree patch.
      • Miscellania Spirit tree patch.
      • Hosidius Spirit tree patch.
    • We’ve also added the Brimhaven fruit tree patch to the teleports.
  • STASH unit changes:
    • The STASH unit south of the eastern winch in the Digsite is now functional.
      • Players will be able to store an iron pickaxe within it, given that they have at least 27 construction.
  • Baba Yaga’s Rune Shop:
    • Players can now purchase runes from Baba Yaga, who can be found in the General store in Edgeville.
      • Only Ironmen are permitted to use this shop.
      • This shop is similar to Amlod/Wizard Sinina’s rune shops, however it also contains fire/water/earth/air staves, astral runes, and regular battlestaves.
        • The prices are 10x the normal prices on OSRS.
      • Players who wish to use this shop must first complete Lunar Diplomacy to access it.
  • Runecrafting pouch changes:
    • Players can now right click on Runecrafting pouches in their inventory while banking, and use the “Fill” option to fill them with essence without having to close the bank.
      • This option naturally replaces the “Store X” option when right-clicking the pouch, so as not to be inconsistent, however we’ve also added a configuration on the Menu-entry swapper that will allow players to swap the “Store 1” and “Fill” options, so they can simple left click their pouches to store them with essence.
  • Farming changes:
    • Players can now grow Hardwood trees in the 3 Hardwood tree patches on Fossil Island, just south-east of the teleport location.
      • There are 2 types of Hardwood tree’s that can be grown:
        • Mahogany Tree:
          • This tree requires 55 Farming to plant, and provides 15,720 base Farming experience for checking the health of it.
            • The time it takes to grow this tree is 1280 minutes.
        • Teak Tree:
          • This tree requires 35 Farming to plant, and provides 7,290 base Farming experience for checking the health of it.
            • The time it takes to grow this tree is 1120 minutes.
  • Collection log changes:
    • The collection log’s text will now change to green when a player has completed it by collecting all items.
  • Gauntlet changes:
  • Mining Geodes:
    • Players will now have a small chance of obtaining a “Clue geode” when mining.
      • These geodes may contain easy, medium, hard, or elite clue scrolls within them.
        • The higher the player’s mining level, as well as the higher level requirement of the rock will both factor into the likelihood of getting a geode.
          • For example, players are most likely to get a geode from mining a runite rock with 99 mining.
    • The rates of getting geodes are similar to OSRS, but boosted by about 23%.
  • Ordan’s Supplies changes:
    • We’ve expanded Ordan’s Supplies to include the following items:
      • Tin ore: 100 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Copper ore: 100 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Silver ore: 1200 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Iron ore: 500 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Coal ore: 400 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Mithril ore: 3000 gp each, 500 in stock.
      • Gold ore: 2500 gp each, 500 in stock.
    • This expanded shop is only available to Ironman accounts, and regular/realism/classic players will still see the old shop.

#362327 New rule feedback

Posted by Foundational on 06 July 2020 - 03:22 PM

There's only 2 clans that advertise on Alora in the first place lmao, let's go ahead and take one out!

Feel like you'd lose more players doing that then to the "advertising" that goes on in their Discord.

#362312 New rule feedback

Posted by UnCreative on 06 July 2020 - 01:25 PM

As a happy member of a "private clan" i just have to laugh, when i hopped into this "private" clan and hopped into their discord i was met with a roles page.  and I guarantee this is the most selected role.

I've never seen anyone in game or on the discord trying to get anyone to play a differet RSPS, not saying it never has happened ever.
mute the kids who you know advertise other rsps.  NOT the whole community. Dont punish the clan for the misguided actions of a few

dont slap ice on the wrist for having a gaming community that has interest in other games. just going to assume that this rule was in place because you must feel this clan is leeching players away. This is a wild change, bigger than i think most chages ive seen in my 3 years.  cc advertising was always all over yell. so was REEEEEE, so is youtube advertising

When ironman og finally kicked the bucket i was reluctant to get into another clan, however joining ICE has honestly kept me playing I used to go hard for a week and then burn out for 3 months.  ICE and the community has fixed that,

I love being helpful and alora cc is too crazy for me most times

TLDR; STOP IT :P
^ short read compared to the books above me

#362290 New rule feedback

Posted by teeth check on 06 July 2020 - 10:47 AM

Ok hello, I have been summoned to this shitshow of a thread and I will respond however, before I get into it, I won't be posting anymore on this thread & will gladly continue any discussions on discord, either in private or a group, your choice. Everything I put here is my own personal opinion, I've not discussed this with anybody before posting.

Before getting into specific points, I want to talk about the discord itself, which has apparently become the point of contention for the majority & more specifically, what a player will see.

Upon entering the discord, this is all you can see:

06SFuoz.png

In the #get-role channel, you may pick the servers/games you play & want to have access to, these are our offerings (other servers are crossed out):

MCgR2Er.png

(Alora is the last option cba taking another picture)

Now, let's continue on the path of an Alora player, who will then react to the Alora image at the bottom to be given the correct role. This role will allow the person to see our general (which all have access to once they react to something) & alora sections, which look like this:

u4eZXyH.png 3HaIjpi.png

Now I know what some of you are thinking in regards to this general section, so let me go into more depth. The #general chat is largely filled with people joining the server and small-talk, scrolling up for the past few days I don't see a single other server being mentioned. #Media is a mix of things such as dog pics & a bunch of other random shit. #Irl is self explanatory, as other channels such as memes, music, off topic, nsfw & anime. Somebody brought up giveaways earlier, so let's take a look shall we:

yauBHQT.png

HsfzWW0.png

3z93q8w.png

The last RSPS related giveaway in this channel was on the 27th of March, and it was an Alora one.

hSgbyhW.png

The Alora section doesn't require any explanations, it's purely for Alora.

The ONLY point I'm willing to concede here is the newspaper, which includes SMALL sections for each game, looking like this (leaving out other RSPS bc censorship)

JVa2Vev.png

If you really think we're able to persuade / advertise from 3-4 lines of copy & pasted text, then you need to have a strong hard think about your own cognitive functions.

This sums up our discord experience for those who only react to Alora. There are no @ everyone, @ here pings talking about other servers, those are done in their own sections, which a person is unable to see unless they have reacted specifically to get those perms, or are Admins. It truly disappoints me, that this can be classified as advertising, many of the accusers & people making the decisions are in our discord & others may join at any time to have a look for themselves.

To look again to the original post, there's a very clear difference in what we expose a person to, in comparison to the example given here:

Yyn075U.png

'ICE used to say in the discord players had to abide with Alora rules which is no server advertising. But now that doesn’t matter because ice isn’t Alora only, which is fine. But if players can’t follow our rules, we can’t allow clans that allow other server advertising/association publicly.' - Moe . Ok, let's discuss this point, first about the rules, which as you mentioned is fine. The real thorn in this statement, is advertising/association publicly, in what way are we 'allowing other server association/advertising'? A person has to give themselves the roles in discord, to see the sections that correspond to those games. They MAY hear about it in in another channel, but be realistic here, is that really so wrong, to DISCUSS a server in passing in a clan's discord?

This rule & the reasoning behind it that I've been provided seems to imply that we continually say @Everyone hey check out X RSPS it's so much better than Alora!!!@!@!@!

From this point the post is gonna get weird because I'll be damned if I fuck up this goliath of an essay because I try to quote something.

'Either way at the end of the day if you would rather pick another server over Alora because you enjoy it more than that's on you' - 11. The rest of your post somewhat  made sense but this line does not, what's on us? Is this rule on us because some of our clan don't play this game anymore? Some clarification on what you meant would be appreciated (@ discord).

@gim deathkid - are you a robot? Your response managed to convey not a single meaningful message.

@hc ashley , a few points here.

1. The rule states " Players are only allowed to publicly advertise clans on the world yell & forums, if the clan is directly related to Alora only."

This is not meant to deteriorate advertising, but only stop advertising of those "clans" it self that also promote other servers as competition.

A - We do not promote other servers, as I have, in my own eyes, proven sufficiently above. Either people play those servers or they do not, it is not our job to convince people. I will agree on the wording on the rule, but disagree with the statement itself & would rather see it repealed or reworked.

2. I can understand the frustration and why some individuals are upset about this rule, but its to create a healthy in-Alora based clan competition.

A- Ok but, why? Why does competition have to entail requirements of being Alora & Alora-only? The premise of the idea may work if the server was larger & had more variety in clan options but in practically, it does not.

3. Im sorry but "using your position of power to eliminate people from the game" are you serious? for as long as ive been playing i see no reason for any of the staff members to take such low and pitiful attempt of wanting to rid of a player base or use their powers in means to "reduce competition" between clans.

A - This is a mentality that is hard to fight, it happened to us when ICE had many staff members as well & is largely made from an us vs them mentality, something that both sides tried to fix but were unsuccessful in doing so,

4. An additional point from me, I've heard, in passing, about your interactions with one of our ex-members in regards to him convincing you to play another server by sending links or something similar. To be clear, the ICE staff team does not condone this behaviour & it happened without our knowledge. The person in question has since been demoted (although, not for this reason alone).

@Code 002 , AKA stick-insect

1. First off I would like to say the difference between an "Open" cc and a "private" cc. An open cc ANYONE can join at ANY given time. Thus allowing a more ease of access to "other" rsps (we all know games such as COD and WOW are not a part of this *potential* new rule). Do not twist my wording to your pleasure and agenda.

A - So the only actual difference here is if said CC offers other games in an outside-medium such as discord? Would like some clarification (discord).

2. Secondly, think of this from a "never played alora this is my first time" movie.

They would see the advertising of a friendly helpful OPEN cc.

They join this help clan.

They notice 300 players in the clan. ( :Pog:)

Yet only a handful actually still play the game it is based off of. In my eyes I joined the clan to be a part of the community along with the game itself. If I saw talks/giveaways/events for other servers while trying to seek HELP for alora. Why wouldn't i just not play alora and go play with the rest of the community I've joined.

A- So I have shown the pathway into our discord. The clan-chat on the other-hand is a bit different, in regards to 'talks/giveaways/events for other servers' - that is addressed elsewhere in this post.

Many of us do not play Alora, that is correct. To imply we talk about other servers at all in our clan-chat is a tad bit insulting. From one of the people we've put in charge of the Alora section of our clan:

cG9IREY.png

Once in a blue moon, when a higher-up /non-alora player hops in, they may say they play another server, without mentioning it. If, somehow, a name is mentioned, the player in question will immediately be warned. As an ex-staff member, that has never been a problem & never should.

3. Now onto the topic of Youtubers. If my memory serves me right YouTubers are essentially paid advertisers to an extent for the longevity of the server. (I could be wrong but doubt it) This is where the difference lies within. Where as an OPEN clan has near free reign of what's going on inside of both their Discord and Ingame CC.... ( and the rest of this paragraph).

A - I may not remember this as well as you, code, but from I know, we only took measures to delete discord links etc in Alora discord? I don't particularly remember banning/muting players for advertising discords with other content in it (apart from a few cases of RWT encouragement, I think).

4. Also in the case of Youtubers. If they advertise non alora related videos through an Alora platform ie. Discord, forums. They have had their rights as a Youtuber REVOKED and banned from said platform. Always have always will.

A - Back to my aforementioned point, is what we do, from what I have shown of our discord & what you are able to find yourself, really count as advertisement?

5. Also coming back to the "using position of power to essentially get rid of the competition " is about as tinfoil as I could possibly imagine. Like how in any way shape or form does that make sense. Besides attempting to stir the pot more than it is already. THAT seems so close minded and biased I really shouldn't even be replying to tbh but I'm irked to no end.

A- Same response as Ashley's. The other clan in question did it incessantly when the roles were reversed. Do not take this as me excusing this behaviour, I do not condone it at all however, it is the natural outcome from how things are structed & interactions have happened over time.

6. Now again, just my opinion on the matter. As it is intended to preserve the integrity of ALORA and nothing else. Any questions or concerns about MY opinion feel free to message me

A- Intentions? Sure, I agree. Unfortunately, in my opinion, these intentions have not correlated well to it's consequences. If you (the team, not individually), intended to preserve integrity, a single PM is all it would have taken between the staff team of the server & the clan for us to evaluate how to change things. This, to the best of my knowledge, did not happen. If there is no communication and you hit US (I say us, because really, it doesn't affect anybody else) with this out of the blue, you can understand the reactions you're seeing here & in other places.

7. It's nice to see alot of old faces I haven't seen ingame in over a year start popping back up again.Welcome back we've missed you.

A- Missed you too, full-homo. Wouldn't exactly say I'm back though.

@Moe just catching your post in the last few seconds so will try to be brief.

1. What we were aiming for with the wording is as follows, a public clan (clan that is for Alora only) may advertise on the yell and forums. A private clan (clan that is for all Servers) may not advertise on the yell and forums due to association with other private servers.

A- Same thing I said on discord, what about the PK clans (PKING ON ALORA KEKW) & those that come from other servers?

2. I have screenshots of people who were being sent links/messages to join other servers. Players have also left ICE due to trying to provide them with another server to play without seeking for it.

A- Not a single staff member was ever contacted about this happening, we can't read the PMs of our members you know? I encourage anybody with said screenshots to step forward so that we can take appropriate action (although afaik, the person I mentioned in Ashley's case may have been the only one). If you're in our discord, feel free to use the #report channel or just PM a staff member (LT+).

3. Actually you can provide rules on a Discord and monitor your discord. Prior to ICE being a "open, all platform gaming" discord, players had to abide with Alora rules. (which included advertising), and players would get punished if they tried such a thing.

A - Completely agree with you here, Moe. I'm not sure what happened to our Rules section, ICE has undergone many changes as of recent and it's hard to keep up. The rules section WILL return & we will be actively punishing said behaviour.

This post has ballooned to a shit-show in it's own standing, this was not my intention, I will try to sum it up with a few bullet points.

  • Our discord does not promote other servers, it is out of choice, with very few exceptions, that you are exposed to such things. (A few lines once a month, in a discord, REALLY does not warrant it being classed as advertising).
  • Our clan-chat does not promote other servers.
  • Clear lack of communication between the parties.
  • Admittedly, our rule section seems to have disappeared & been forgotten about. It will return very shortly & will include statements to make sure advertising/link sending is punished, as it ought to have been.

LASTLY, DO NOT TAKE ACTION BEFORE COMMUNICATING, this is not an in-game punishment where a player is being banned for hacking etc, a simple line of text could & most probably would have caused this entire rule & thread to be nullified.

Thanks for reading this fucking mess, sorry for mistakes, I won't respond here anymore, pm me on discord @ Aka#1550 (I won't send links to other servers, I promise ;) ).
