#142473 Blowpipe nerf & raids magic buff

Posted by Pacmale on 21 December 2017 - 05:26 AM

It might sound biased as I just got the twisted bow, but I really feel like BP is way too overpowered. Darts are cheap, as gp is worth less in Alora compared to OSRS. You can easily get end game darts and not worry about the GP spent. I feel like magic is useless, melee sometimes too. I got 40M range XP (x5 rates) and I'm not even maxed, simply because I need to use the BP for everything. I'd rather see magic and melee get more use than use blowpipe for everything.

I wonder how you guys feel about it.

Also. I feel like there should be an use/buff for mage in raids. It's way too easy taking only a twisted bow or a BP and melee switch for everything.

edit:

I don't necessarily mean to nerf the actual blowpipe, more or like increase the stats of certain bosses so it is no longer preferably to use range when you should use melee or mage. For example, Olm's right hand should be maged.

#109268 A few suggestions

Posted by Vitruvian on 15 August 2017 - 06:04 AM

  • Add 5/6 red spider's eggs spawns in the Edgeville wilderness dungeon. They are there in the original game and I don't see why they're not implemented considering blue scales at blue drags and snape grass at rock crabs/west of crafting guild are in-game. This would help ironmen to create super restores. The only other ways to obtain the eggs is by Wilderness bosses. Secondaries shouldn't require THAT much effort, especially when needed in a large quantity.

  • Accesbility to the upper level Wyvern's expansion in the Asgarnian ice dungeon. This is also in the original game. The Wyverns area is awfully packed 90% of the time, and the Wyvern npcs are already there on the expansion so again I don't see why this shouldn't be implemented in-game.

  • Adding Camelot and Draynor Village to City teleports via the Wizard. They are both quite common for players to want to get to, however the only efficient ways at the moment to get to each place is, for Draynor (Glory teleport) and Camelot (Catherby teleport).

  • Gem mine in Shilo Village. Would be a nice addition for a majority of players, xp could be the same or similar to that of gold ore (around 3.6k xp with the Well). Maybe donator only perk?

#109155 Construction suggestions

Posted by Hex on 14 August 2017 - 05:42 PM

I've heard construction is in the works so I thought I would post a few suggestions before it releases :P

1) Make mahogany trees cuttable before release so we can prepare

2) Convenient sawmill or Plank make

3) Direct teleport to mahogany / teak trees in teleport mage

4) Possibly adding more trees to the game, either in ::dz or elsewhere

What about a coffer? You could deposit money into that and then not have to worry about remembering to bring cash.

#95673 Hard Achievements

Posted by Ruwk on 01 July 2017 - 07:26 PM

It seems weird having Easy and Medium achievements with no hard achievements. Also with the release of Inferno, I think completing that should be added as an achievement and the Completionist monkey should have +8 strength. Here are some ideas for hard achievements. Please suggest some other achievements you may think of. Also, with this being added, more items should be added to the achievement point shop - so feel free to suggest items to there as well.

Hard Achievements

  • Complete Inferno
  • Donate 25m to the Well of Goodwill at once (money sink)
  • Kill all bosses 10 times
  • Obtain any pet

Leave a like if you support.

#94861 [6/29/17] Alora Infographic // Inferno fixes

Posted by Omicron on 28 June 2017 - 10:38 PM

Hey guys,

As we near an incredible 8 months of Alora, I decided that it would be fun to create an infographic with all kinds of Alora statistics, with the help of our new graphics designer @Slyther. We hope you find it as interesting as we did :)

Today's update fixes most, if not all of the reported bugs within the Inferno. Particularly, the dreaded bug where you have to run up to the final wave NPCs (as well as having them walk around and getting in your way) has been patched.

  • Inferno fixes:
    • Fixed HP resetting to full when you relog on a wave.
    • Pillar/nibbler changes:
      • Pillars will now always spawn in the same locations. I thought that they were random, but this has proven to be incorrect.
      • Nibblers will now always spawn in the centre.
        • They will target any pillar, not the nearest pillar as they did before.
      • Previously, one nibbler would always attack a player instead of the pillar. This has been fixed.
    • Triple jad wave changes (68):
      • A bug previously caused the 2/3 jads to rarely attack back after the first had been killed.
    • Final wave changes (69):
      • Distraction enemies:
        • Jad can no longer attack with melee on the final wave.
        • You will no longer run up to the spawns on the final wave.
          • Technically, you can now range/mage the npcs in the room in the final wave from almost anywhere without running up close to them, and they should also not move when attacking you.
      • Shield changes:
        • The shield moved 1 square too far to the east, this has been fixed.
        • The shield will now “glow” red when it absorbs the fireball from the boss to let you know you are safe. (I missed this when watching videos of the fight initially)
      • TzKal-Zuk changes:
        • TzKal-Zuk’s attack speed has been increased by 1 tick (0.6 seconds) to match OSRS.
        • TzKal-Zuk can now be seen from the far eastern corner:
          • Previously, a bug would cause the boss to go invisible at the far right corner.
      • Fixed bug where you wouldn’t receive your Infernal cape.
      • Infernal cape will now go to the lost items shop and can be bought back for 2.5m

  • Firemaking object fixed:
    • The data update we did a few days ago had changed the ID of fires in the game. This has been corrected.
  • Miscellaneous fixes:
    • Fixed enemies attacking from different floors
      • Eg. Attacking from on on top of the Grand exchange
    • Gnome goggles slot fixed
    • Dragon sword requirements fixed (40 -> 60 attack)
    • System updates can now be cancelled/extended:
      • The other day we accidentally pushed out a 30 second update rather than 5 minutes (30 instead of 300 in the chatbox), which prompted us to add a command to cancel a pending update.
    • Crafting snakeskin items would require the wrong amount of items (less than required) after the first craft. This has been fixed.
    • Clan chat name bug fixed.
      • No longer allowed to use solely special symbols in your clan chat name. (Eg. “#” as the name)
      • <img> tags will no longer be allowed in Clan chat names.
  • Elysian spirit shield “effect” indicated
    • When your Elysian effect kicks in to reduce damage, a blue swirl graphic will appear around your character.
  • Dragon claws special attack fixed:
    • Previously, special attacking someone through Melee protection prayer was bugged.
  • Performance changes:
    • As some of you may have noticed, our previous server uptime was over 4 days!
      • Typically, Alora starts to experience lag after a certain number of days (less than 4), and our monitoring shows that we’ve made significant improvements and fixed some core issues that were causing this lag.
        • This means the server can remain online for longer without the need to reset simply for lag.

Enjoy! Goodluck to all of you who are going for an Infernal cape :)

#95141 Inferno wave modifications

Posted by S on 29 June 2017 - 09:52 PM

Hi, I have been looking at peoples feedback on Inferno and it seems like everyone is agreed.

  • Increase the wave you start at to 20 or so
  • Have a rank reward system like Fight Caves
    Something like:
Regular Donator - Wave 15 start
Super Donator - Wave 20 start
Extreme Donator - Wave 25 start
Legendary Donator - Wave 30 start
Uber Donator - Wave 30-35 start

All waves before this are pointless. Wave 30+ is when the challenges really begin.  (35+ are when magers start)

The rest just waste time

If this was to be implemented, it would keep more people interested in doing Inferno as they would not have to complete all the waves that use no supplies and are basically AFKable, basically along the lines of fight caves but not as easy.

#65161 Completionist Cape Requirements

Posted by Omicron on 27 March 2017 - 01:27 PM

The whole idea behind a completionist cape is to cover ALL aspects of the game, including PvP, so the PvP achievements will not be removed from Alora. That being said, the argument that they are too difficult/too time consuming to complete is appreciable, and will be looked into more, and may be changed in the near future to suit more popular player opinion, however there are no guarantees at this time.

#83855 Keep Void Reclaim Cost the Same for Deaths Outside Wildy

Posted by Shiznitz on 22 May 2017 - 10:20 AM

Seeing as the reason for void's reclaim price being raised was to make it more risky to go pking with it, I think it would be a good idea to keep the reclaim price the same as pre-update for deaths outside the wildy. This would help greatly with the burden put on newer players and ironmen who are currently getting gouged for using void while pvming. Thank you for your consideration.

Posted by Omicron on 08 May 2017 - 03:52 AM

Hey guys,

As promised earlier this week, here's a bunch of request bug fixes and content additions! We've updated our cache to the latest OSRS version, which means we have access to things like the updated dungeons, and the brand new Skotos pet / Purple slayer helmet, which are in-game and obtainable as of this update! Additionally, some major combat bugs have been fixed, and we hope that this resolves most of the issues that were reported. Lastly, we've added in HD support for Mac OSX clients -- you can read more below.

[Updates]

  • Loaded latest OSRS data:
    • Saradomin god book (Holy book) colors have been changed from white to blue.
      • This recent update in OSRS was added to prevent confusion with the Book of Law, and to honour the original blue color of Saradomin.
    • Gilded boots have been given a trim to match the rest of the Gilded armour.
    • Ballista animation fix (see below)
    • New dungeons(see below)
    • Skotizo additions(see below)
  • New Dungeons and expansions:
    • *Huge thanks to @Lowkey for the help collecting data for these dungeons!
    • Chasm of Fire:
      • A fiery trench with multiple levels of demons - lesser, greater and black, are now residing within the Chasm of Fire.
      • You can get here by teleporting through the Teleport Wizard in the "Dungeons" menu.
      • Lifts will take you up and down between the levels.
    • Nieve's new cave:
      • Nieve's cave has been completely redone!
        • You'll now find more spawns, and more room for monsters within the cave.
        • With this update, the following caves have been seperated from Nieve's cave: Kraken's area, Kalphite hive, Smoke Devil dungeon
    • Taverley dungeon expansion:
      • The Taverley dungeon now has an upper level, with plenty of Black dragons and Baby black dragons to slay!
    • Slayer Tower Basement:
      • The Slayer Tower now has a lower level - visit the basement to find plenty of creatures to slay.
    • Smoke devil dungeon:
      • The location and colors of the Smoke devil dungeon have changed, but everything else has remained the same.
      • The Smoke devil dungeon can now be accessed either south of Castle wars, or through the teleportation interface.
    • Kraken cave updated:

[HD on Mac tutorial]
Many OSX users have had trouble running Alora in HD on their Macs, so we decided to spend some time implementing the ability to run it with a few modifications.

Firstly, you’ll need to make sure Java 1.6 is downloaded and installed. You can download that here:
https://support.appl...72?locale=en_US

Once that’s downloaded and installed, replace your Alora client launcher with the MAC version:
http://www.alora.io/...s/alora_mac.jar

Once that’s all done, run the latest launcher and you should be able to turn on the HD setting and enjoy it with everyone else!

Note: This also allows you to run your Mac with the integrated graphics card, rather than forcing discrete. If you do plan to use HD though, it will have to use your discrete graphics card.

*As a mac user, you can still use alora.jar OR alora_mac.jar. The difference is that you will likely have to run the Mac version (unless your Mac is ancient) to get HD working, and if you use the non-Mac version it will always force your discrete graphics card, while the Mac version will use the integrated for low definition graphics if not on OpenGL.

Enjoy  :)

#78342 Hiscores in dire need of update

Posted by Reborn Ocean on 03 May 2017 - 07:37 PM

Currently the only way to see what rank you are in any given skill is to go to that specific skill, and scroll through every page until you find yourself.

This is VERY tedious, and as someone who will be trying to go for top 1k in every skill after I max, it would be super helpful to add this update.

There is no way I see myself scrolling through every single stat hiscores until I find myself in each one.

Picture showing what I am talking about:

Posted by Iron Divine on 30 April 2017 - 03:33 AM

Thanks for all the feedback.. I can agree in a deegree that its supposed to be hard, but then again it has to be worth it. I haven't said anything about nerfs, only that for the supplies we use for the kills, its not really worth it considering u mostly get junk or only scale drop..

As long as the drop tables gets reworked, im very happy.
