So I decided it was time for a new grind and set my mind on Vorkath in hopes of receiving the ever elusive Vorki! 

 

After a long couple minutes my grind has finally come to an end with quite the pay off!

 

 

OMG drop rate fixes!

The chance of receiving the Jar of Dreams has been increased from 1/2,000 to 1/1,626.

You're telling me I rolled four 1in2000-drop-rate jars in 620 nightmare kills?  Man fuck me. 

 

I tested guardians of the rift out, but the guardians got a lil too high on 420 and quit doing their jobs

 

4/22/22 update - Guardians of the rift is up and running!

I tested tempoross and the 'check reward pool' feature is broken.  It should tell you how many permits you have saved, but instead, it's claiming your reward.  Currently, it does the same as 'net reward pool'

 

 

I tested the league hall changes and they're awesome!  Thanks for adding trophy storage to mahogany trophy case and giving league players the credit they deserve.

 

Nice.  Charter ships will buy your molten glass for 40 gp now (will not buy noted molten glass).

They'll also sell you molten glass ingredients for 700 + 350 gp (bucket of sand + soda ash).  Great deal!

Just fyi to all, bonds do not count as token packages.  Opening a $10 bond will still only give you 100 tokens (not 125).

 

The new void (or) additions to the poh armour case are great, but could you add the shattered relic hunter (t1-3) in as well (similar to what you did with trailblazer outfits t1-3)?

 

Thanks for adding the Guardian of the Rift robes, Raiments of the Eye, to the magic wardrobe!  Could you also add the trailblazer graceful to the magic wardrobe?

How would this benefit Alora?: One of the main reasons I ever cared to stay in the wildy for archaic emblems was to get pieces for skotizo totems. This was a great piece of content for all ironmen, and reading the patch notes this wasn't something abused by ironmen, it's a great way for supplies and also a good reason to be in the wilderness chasing those emblems and emblem upgrades.

 

Why does max monkey have gold gaunts built into it? I don't recall a perk like that added to it. Also there's a lot of game modes where getting a monkey takes ages lol

This perk is a part of the Smithing skillcape as well. It doubles the xp you get from smithing gold at the blast furnace, just like goldsmith gauntlets. You can see that and all other skillcape perks here: https://www.alora.io...ll-cape-perks/ 

 

With that being said, getting to 99 Smithing while switching between ice gloves/goldsmith gauntlets isn't too bad. Post-99, you can just wear ice gloves and a Smithing skillcape.

No support. Pretty much max monkey has built in gold gauntlets so you can have ice gloves on and get both benefits so this would take away from that.

Also just hit empty instead of take. Fuck gold bars

I have some bittersweet news to share with you all today. As of a few weeks ago, @Lowkey has no longer been the community manager of Alora. I regret to inform everyone that he will no longer be managing the community due to a lack of time IRL, and we fully support him in his effort to prioritize his family time and professional career. This will undoubtedly be a big loss for Alora, as Jay has been a part of this thing from the very first day (even before we opened our doors) and is a big part of why Alora is where it is today, and we still have plenty of love and respect for him for the time he has spent with us. Needless to say, we'll always have a spot for him on the team should he ever want to return. With that being said, we wish him all the best on his future endeavours, and hope to still see him around every now and then.
 
On the other side of the coin, we're glad to be able to announce that a very well-seasoned staff member, one that you've all come to know and love, will be stepping in to fill Jay's shoes. They're big shoes to fill, and although we can never truly replace him, we are confident that @Moe will do a great job of managing the community and the staff team, as he has already proven himself as Event manager and is another huge part of Alora's success.

Let's do some sloppy math on this real quick, a player who wants to grind nightmare has roughly a 1/333 chance of getting an armour piece and roughly 1/1000 for an orb. Let's say you're very efficient hitting 7 min a kill including banking, deaths, etc. You grind 5 hours a day because you have a job and social life.

That means if you're on drop rate, every 23 days you'll recieve an orb and every 7-8 days you'll get an armour piece. I'm sure @Real Alan or another alora mathematician can either verify or elaborate on the statistics better.

For armour that has extremely niche uses, and 1 of those orbs is practically a cosmetic, 1 is niche pvm uses, and 1 is good for pking.

Nerfing the drop rates killed the content, we should bring it back and let the market decide when we have enough NM drops in circulation. If they become devalued people will stop doing the content allowing the demand to determine the supply.

It's important to remember that although increasing supply of these items can (and likely will) lead to price decreases, the rewards from NM are of best use AT NM meaning if there's more people doing the content more people need inq pieces and potentially harm staves increasing demand and leading to a more fair price of NM items based on their uses rather than as a store of value for richer players.

What is your suggestion?: to buff the drop rates of phosani and maybe make some of the drop table have noted drops. The drop tables are quite different in osrs, just simply asking to have phosani drop rate buffed so more ppl will do the boss, even on nightmare bonuses the boss isnt killed.

How would this benefit Alora?: Not quite sure the dr on alora of phosani but the boss is extremely dead content as it stands there's not much of a point in doing phosani over reg nightmare unless you dont have a team or want the egg which is cosmetic, 1 costmetic is worth doing it for IMO.
