[14/2/22] Hotfixes:

  • General fixes:
    • Fixed an issue with bugged ladders in the Gnome stronghold.
    • Fixed an issue with the Farmers blessing teleports only showing numbers.
    • Hitmarkers were previously only able to display a hit of up to 255, but sometimes we need to display higher amounts. We've changed this to allow us to display the correct amount.
      • For example, when Nex heals herself at the start of the Zaros phase, she heals for 500 hitpoints, which was only showing up as 255 previously.
  • Nex changes:
    • Nex's primary attack projectiles have been slowed down slightly to look more smooth.
    • Shadow smash attack animation has been fixed.
    • Cough immunity:
      • After a coughing spell, you will now be immune to catching another cough for 10 seconds.
        • This should prevent players from endlessly coughing, and once you realize that you've stopped coughing you can keep your distance from other players who are coughing.
    • Players can now note and un-note items on Ashuelot Reis.
    • You will no longer be spammed with the "You have run out of Prayer points" message while coughing due to Nex's clouds.
    • Event Managers can now enable Nex bonus loot rate, providing up to a 20% higher chance of loot for all uniques and the Nexling.
    • If Nex uses Blood Siphon more than once, and there are still Blood Reavers alive in the room, they will now heal Nex for their remaining HP before they die and the new reavers are spawned.
      • Nex will display purple heal marks to denote how much she was healed for.
    • Reavers will no longer "overlap" each other when spawning, and will now be spaced out properly.
    • As soon as Nex reaches one of her hitpoints thresholds (eg. 80% hp is when Fumus fights), any extra incoming damage that hasn't hit her yet will be nullified.
    • When Nex is healed (eg. Blood barriage), the heal markers will be displayed at all times.
    • The Ancient Barrier color will now properly update (red when you are inside fighting Nex, otherwise purple).
    • In private instances, previously you would not be able to enter after the Nex fight had begun.
      • This has been changed to allow you to enter mid-fight, the same way you can enter the main room.
    • All Nex rare loot will now be announced (previously some items like the Torva helm would not be).
    • Altar changes:
      • A message to let you know that your HP/run/special energy have been restored has been added if you are wearing a Zaros item while using the altar.
    • Torva items are now tradable.
    • Torva platebody bonuses have been fixed.

Hello everyone,

Nex has descended upon Alora! This mysterious Zarosian general has been long locked away, but the ancient magical protections sealing her away have been weakened, leaving her and bodyguards vulnerable. Dive into the Ancient Prison to explore what powerful new items lie within… if you're brave enough, that is.

This update also brings with it numerous other content & QoL updates, such as the ability to set your Home teleport animation style (Leagues), Group Ironman name change tickets, Rune shop expansion, The PvM Damage drops RuneLite plugin, the Hunter's crossbow and more.

  • Store changes:
    • Group ironman name change ticket:
      • Group ironman name change tickets are now available!
        • Purchasable in the Donation Store for 500 tokens.
        • Change your Ironman group's name without any cooldown. One-time use.
    • Name ticket changes:
      • You can now use a name change ticket to change the cases of the letters in your username.
        • For example, if your name is "Omicron" you can change to "omicron", "OMICRON", "oMiCrOn" etc.
          • Doing this type of name change will not add a "Previous username" tag on other players' friends list or on the forums.
  • Nex: The Fifth General
    • The Zarosian general awaits you in the Ancient Prison! For those of you who are brave enough to enter, you'll have a chance at some of the most powerful equipment in Alora.
    • Getting there:
      • Players can get to the Ancient Prison by teleporting to God wars dungeon and heading south, where they’ll find 2 frozen doors.
        • Players will need to have at least 1 killcount for of every God wars general to enter the Ancient prison.
    • Battle:
      • Nex has five distinct phases, with each phase having its own primary attack along with two unique special attacks.
      • Each time Nex takes 680 damage, she'll become unattackable and you'll be forced to kill one of her bodyguards in the corners of the room.
      • Deaths within the Ancient Prison are not considered safe, but you'll be able to reclaim your items using the chest outside of the prison for 250,000 gold if you lose them.
        • Please note that if you have items waiting for you in the chest and you die again to Nex without reclaiming them, the previous items are wiped permanently.
      • Attacks:
        • All primary attacks can hit through prayer, some phases harder than others, but using the correct protection prayer will still lessen the damage taken.
          • Primary attacks also have their own effect, such as inflicting poison, reducing your prayer points, stats or freezing you in place.
        • Each phase has two unique special attacks, with the final phase also using Soulsplit and the Deflect prayer. Upon death, Nex will use the Wrath prayer.
        • Unlike any other boss, Nex can run to its target, and also uses a different pathing system which allows it to more effectively reach targets and not be safe spotted.
    • Loot:
      • Nex loot is distributed among all players in the room who have done at least 100 damage (damage on generals and blood reavers counts towards this).
        • All players have an equal chance at obtaining unique loot, aside from the MVP having a 10% increased chance at unique loot and a 10% boost to regular loot amounts.
          • The highest-damage player will receive the Big bones drop, denoting they they are the MVP.
      • Uniques:
        • Uniques have a 1/43 chance of dropping, and only one player can receive a unique per fight.
          • Zaryte vambraces:
            • Requiring 80 Defence and 45 Ranged, these offer the best-in-slot offensive bonus for Rangers, and are the only hands-slot item with a Ranged Strength bonus.
          • Zaryte crossbow:
            • The Nihil horn can be attached to the Armadyl crossbow to upgrade it to a Zaryte crossbow, which requires 80 Ranged to equip.
            • This is a ranged weapon, requiring level 80 Ranged to wield.
              • It is the only crossbow that has defensive bonuses.
            • Passive effect: This crossbow has a passive effect that strengthens the effects of enchanted bolts by 10%.
              • For example, a ruby bolt effect normally deals 20% an enemy’s health, up to 100 damage, but with the Zaryte crossbow, the effect is boosted to 22% of an enemy’s health, up to 110 damage.
            • Special attack:
              • The special attack of this crossbow consumes 75% energy, and provides doubled accuracy, and guarantees the special effect of any enchanted bolt used on a successful hit.
          • Ancient Godsword:
            • The Ancient hilt can be used to create the fifth godsword, which has a special attack that doubles your accuracy and inflicts damage with a 10% higher max hit than a normal attack, consuming 50% of your special attack energy.
            • Additionally, the special attack will mark a player for sacrifice (upon a successful hit), giving them 8 ticks (4.8 seconds) to move at least 5 tiles from the attacker, otherwise they take 25 damage and the attacker will also be healed for the same amount.
          • Torva armour:
            • Requiring 80 Defence to equip and consisting of a full helm, plate body, and platelegs, this set offers better offensive and defensive capabilities than the Bandos set, but doesn't have quite the defensive bonus or prayer bonus that the Justiciar set offers.
            • On drop, these pieces of broken and unequippable. You'll need to repair it using components salvaged from the Bandos set.
              • A furnace in the Frozen Prison will let you break down your Bandos gear and get tradable components in return, which will make the Torva equipment equipable.
                • You'll receive 3 components for Bandos chest plate, and 2 for the tassets. Boots cannot be broken down. You need 1 component to repair the Torva Helm, and 2 components for the Chestplate or the Platelegs.
              • To repair the set, you'll also need level 90 Smithing, although breaking down Bandos gear has no skill requirement.
      • Nexling:
        • Nexling has a 1/406 chance of dropping, and is rolled independently from the unique table (doesn't take up a roll).
  • Teleport Wizard Changes:
    • The Smoke Dungeon (Dust devil dungeon in Pollnivneach) has been added to the Dungeons teleport menu.
    • Blast mine has been added to the Minigames teleport menu.
  • Bank Changes:
    • GIM and EIM players will now see an option in the top left corner of their bank/shared banks that will allow them to quickly swap between their personal/shared bank.
      • This can be triggered from the GIM/EIM orbs and shared storage, or a regular bank.
  • Pk Point Shop Changes:
    • Dark Totems have been added to the Realism and regular Pk point shops for 200 PK points each.
    • The realism/regular/ironman PK point shops now sell the following items:
      • Dark Totem Base: 85 PK points
      • Dark Totem Middle: 85 PK points
      • Dark Totem Top: 85 PK points
  • Rune Shop Expansion:
    • All of these shops stock the same runes, which are as follows:
      • 5000 Fire runes
      • 5000 Water runes
      • 5000 Air runes
      • 5000 Mind runes
      • 5000 Body runes
      • 1000 Chaos runes

      • 100 Fire rune packs
      • 80 Mind rune packs
      • 50 Chaos rune packs
    • All rune shops will now restock at a rate of 15 runes per 30 seconds.
      • Previously this was only the case for 4 (Amlodd, Baba Yaga, Thyria’s wares, Wizard guild) rune shops, and it was 12 runes rather than 15.
    • The following rune shops have been added around the game:
      • Battle Runes:
        • This shop is run by the Zamorak Mage in the Wilderness near Edgeville.

      • To toggle this, players can click on the Settings tab, and click “Extra settings”, and toggle this feature on.
        • This feature is only available on the Runelite client.
    • Rather than showing the skills the player obtained experience in, followed by the amount of experience, this setting will always show an attack icon, followed by the sum of the damage done that tick.
      • For example, if a player uses dragon claws and hits a 5/6/10/20, then it will show that as 41 damage.
    • This feature will not work in the in PvP combat.
  • Compost potions:
    • Players can now make Compost potions using an Harralander potion (unf) and 1 Volcanic ash.
      • To do so requires at least level 22 Herblore, and will provide 60 base Herblore experience.

    • Players can now stun abyssal sire using shadow spells.

        • Shadow blitz: 75% chance to stun Abyssal sire in Phase 1
        • Shadow barrage: 100% chance to stun Abyssal sire Phase 1
      • Players do not need to deal any damage from the shadow spell to have a chance to stun the Abyssal sire, even a splash will provide a chance to do so.
    • The amount of time Abyssal sire is stunned for has been reduced from 33 seconds (55 ticks) to 30 seconds (50 ticks).
    • The slayer helm effects will now apply to respiratory systems and Scion npc, allowing players to get the accuracy/damage bonuses, however killing these will not count towards the abyssal demon/sire task.
  • Hunters’ Crossbow:
    • Players can now purchase and use the Hunters' Crossbow, along with Kebbit bolts/Long kebbit bolts from Leon in Yanille.
      • The crossbow itself is 15,000 coins, and has a stock of 4.
      • The Kebbit bolts cost 700 coins each, with a stock of 1500.
        • These bolts provide +28 ranged strength, and can only be used with the Hunters’ Crossbow.

  • Quality of Life:
    • The Interact Highlight plugin will now highlight the object/npc of the option that the player’s cursor is hovered over.
      • For example, if the context menu has options for multiple objects/npcs, such as “Bank banker” and “Bank bank booth”, it will highlight the banker if the player is hovering over the "Bank bankjer
    • Players can now configure the hotkey used to highlight/ignore items in the Ground item plugin configuration.
      • This is set to alt (option on Mac) by default.

    • Chambers of Xeric kill time record will now show up to 5 players' names instead of 3.
    • Group Ironman broadcasts (when kicking a player, or when a new player joins, etc) will now show up in the usual yellow broadcast color as the previous purple color was not easily readable.
  • Fixes:
    • Fixed a pathing bug with one of Runite rocks in the Donator zone.
