I honestly think it’s fine as it is. It motivates players who want to buy them to actually play the Leagues when they’re available

My personal take on this
I completely understand where the suggestion comes from, and I agree that it can be frustrating when event times end up being inconvenient depending on your timezone. It’s definitely something we take into consideration when scheduling events. However, implementing a system where events automatically trigger or can be activated individually for each player would, in practice, be far more complex than it sounds. The current setup for global events and bonuses requires them to be managed manually, which means they don’t activate automatically or individually.
In this particular case, I activated the event slightly earlier as a small bonus, while the official Chambers of Xeric bonus was still activated at the scheduled time as planned. The event system itself doesn’t currently support automated activations or personal timers, and adding that kind of functionality would require an entirely new system to be built. RuneScape 3 can support these features because its engine was designed for them from the start, but Alora’s setup is built differently and focuses more on direct management and consistency.
Consistency plays a big role in how events are run. Having a clear and predictable schedule ensures that players always know when to expect events, and it allows the team to coordinate efficiently across time zones. If events rotated too frequently or were activated individually, it would quickly lead to confusion, missed participation, and potential overlap with other ongoing bonuses. Keeping one global schedule guarantees fairness and clarity for everyone, even if the timing isn’t always perfect for every region.
That said, I do think it could be worth exploring a light rotation of event times occasionally to give different regions a better chance to participate. For example, alternating between earlier and later sessions on a monthly basis could be tested to see how it affects turnout and engagement. But maybe a different system could be made in the future if it becomes technically possible. I won’t guarantee or promise anything, though.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that the team members responsible for events are spread across different time zones, and we all try our best to plan them around our own schedules while keeping them consistent for the community. We’ll always aim to make events as accessible as possible, but there are natural limits when everything has to be managed manually.
