TOB scaling

How would this benefit Alora?:

Alora's player base is obviously much smaller than OSRS. A lot of the time it's incredibly difficult to find a 3-man team for TOB, and running a duo with the current trio scaling if you don't have 100% bis is rough. It would benefit the handful of gamers that don't enjoy bank standing at TOB for hours looking for a +1.

I +1 this as not a lot of people actually do TOB these days, plus with waiting times for other players.

This isn't going to solve the problem of bankstanding waiting for a +1. The issue has always been not enough people willing to learn the content; however you'll find plenty of people doing tob on bonuses. I don't believe we should keep nerfing this piece of content to incentivize more people to do tob more often.

I get this take, but I also think there is a line between actually nerfing content mechanics and reducing HP to support a smaller group. If ToB mechanics worked the same way they did years ago when you could blindly tbow verzik, didn't have to tank, didn't have to swap prayers or use any tech at all I wouldn't make the suggestion. Reducing boss HP in a duo isn't going to change the fact that you still have to learn ToB. This isn't really aimed to support the people that aren't willing to learn ToB. It's for the people that want to ToB outside of bonus or during lower traffic play times.

Tob is supposed to be the hardest content in the game, and duo is one of the hardest ways to do tob, apart from solos. I understand doing duo tob in not 100% BIS is difficult, but the raid was made to be the pinacle of endgame content. Scaling won't fix the issue of finding a duo to do tob with when people stop doing tob because they get the item they want, rather than people legitimately doing tob because they find the content enjoyable, and those people are going to have duo's of their own.

As someone who’s struggled to find people to finish off two TOB runs for diary - this would be a welcoming introduction.

Especially since all TOB/Raid bonus is always middle of the night/early morning for us Australian/Oceanic timezone .

There's nothing wrong with the current scaling of TOB. After the nerf to Verzik's attacks you use next to no supplies throughout the entire raid in normal mode. The healing from a blood fury can completely negate the damage Verzik inflicts through prayer.

 

If it's "too rough" for you then you are doing something wrong and nerfing hitpoints isn't the solution to that. The tweak to HP isn't going to be the reason a duo completes or fails a raid, learning mechanics and playing strategically will. 

 

Claiming TOB is too difficult without 100% BIS weapons isn't remotely truthful. The Duo GM speed time is completable without scythe or twisted bow.

 

And like Neuro mentioned, continuously nerfing the raid isn't going to result in more people duoing or soloing TOB.

There is absolutely no reason to nerf the hp scaling, the raids are already incredibly fast

Solos/duos are not ment to be completed by anyone in the game, ToB is the toughest raid that there is, and hopefully it stays that way.

As @Neuro and @Mack already stated - nerfing the hp won't fix anything, it just shows how much people are willing to learn the raid.

Sometimes theres not enough people doing tob in my time zone so getting 3 people can be difficult. I would love an option or duo or even solo tob scaling !
