Hello,

 

A simple suggestion came into my head when I saw a classic player donating to the well of goodwill.

10m classic should be worth 1:3 (?) in the well of goodwill.

I love the idea of giving Classic players more incentive to donate to the well which will create a money sink, but not sure about having Classic players rate at which the gold donated to well be more than normal players.

I love the idea of giving Classic players more incentive to donate to the well which will create a money sink, but not sure about having Classic players rate at which the gold donated to well be more than normal players.

Technically its harder to make money on a classic. It's not really giving them more value because regular mode and classic mode have a separate eco so comparing doesn't make sense.

Thats a really needed update , for classics , btw the rates usualy go for 1:4 :P

I love the suggestion but I feel there’d be more disadvantages than advantages with doing this. I’m assuming the rates fluctuate every so often, this means Omicron would have to change this in the class files handling the donations to the well every time that the rate changes. Restarting the server every time the rate changes doesn’t seem plausible, and is definitely waste of time.

I’m staying neutral on this. I’d also love to hear other’s opinion(s) on this suggestion, or possible additions to this suggestion.

I was unsure as to how often it fluctuated, that's one of the reasons why I actually stayed neutral in my post above. Thanks for clearing this up.

I think it needs to stay as it is. Eventually, the economy will normalize.

There's plenty of normal players filling the well anyway.

 

I can see how this would be nice if Classic players had their own well.

But since they don't (As far as I know) there's literally no reason for this.

Savitr put this perfectly. With the added people who joined classic because of TP, and possibly more players to come if more updates happen, the amount  that classic 'swaps' for is just going to decrease which means that the value of coin for classics that throw it into the well will change, which means code would need to be changed.

Dynamically setting the rates using a staff command would make this possible to adjust rates on the fly. I think everyone could agree that classics gold donated should at least be doubled and adjusted from there.

However, as Syntax pointed out, it doesn't really have to change to compensate what the players are swapping their Classic-Normal GP for, why not just set it at a permanent 1:2? Players are free to swap their GP for what ever floats their boats, but in the example of thieving: You steal a Battlestaff as a regular player, it sells for 5,550GP, you steal that same staff as a classic member and it sells for 2,775GP. So the reality of it is, they get half of a regular player, if a regular member stole 2M worth of GP in an hour of thieving a Classic player would get 1M in that same amount of effort.
