I'm suggesting for a new forum mod to be installed onto the forum, which is called minimized quote.

If someone quotes another Member's post and the post is a big one, it would only show the beginning of the quote and there will be an option at the bottom of the quote for you to read more of it. I noticed many Members quote original posts/first posts, regardless of how big they are, which causes viewers to scroll tons more, which as an active forum Member, I can personally say it can be irritating at times. Will make much more ease for viewers when reading debates/feedback/arguments/etc threads as well.

Note: I'm unsure if the current IPB version which Alora uses will support it, but I thought I'd go ahead and suggest it anyhow.

Are we allowed to just say support? Because I got a warning for saying "support" on a suggestion, and it got deleted and I got a warning for spam...

One-word posting is disallowed on Alora's forum.

This looks like it's a plugin for IPBv4+. Our forums are not on this version. While I do enjoy this suggestion, I don't know off any plugins on our version that would support it.

Do you have any clue as to why Omicron does not upgrade his forum software?

Why fix something that isn't broken? On another more serious note; our home page, and custom pages such as High Scores and Donor Store would not be supported as of right now if the change were to be made. At least that was the case when we were looking at upgrading the forum software together. We like the functionality of all these pages, seeing they work really well. And user interaction with them is very easy going. I could ask him to look into it again, but there'd be a bunch of time spent on upgrading forum things to a new version - while time could be spent in other areas.

Understandable, but a pity. The newer IPB software versions have a lot of nice features and mods. No point going through such a hassle and wasting a lot of development time for those though, especially with the current IPB software version which Alora is using is having no issues.

Always wondered why Alora is still using an old IPB software version, thanks.

Due to the technical difficulties involved with implementing this, this has been declined.
