Hello Everyone,

For starters I'd like to thank and congratulate everyone involved in the development of the Alora's Twisted league, as well as Adex for coming in first place. As someone who spent a significant amount of time in Zeah this past month I'd like to offer my input to help make the next league even better. 

 

Things I thought were done well:

 

I think the length of the competition being one month was good. Any longer and competing for ranks would have started to really feel like a chore. Arguments for making it shorter would be reasonable, however. 

The spacing of points needed to unlock relics really felt smooth and I didn't personally experience any hitches where I felt stuck. Could even make a case for spreading them out a bit more.

The base xp rate felt fair for the length of the game mode. 

The omissions and substitution of certain relics this league were good ideas, I think the Xeric's Wisdom relic would have been way too powerful and way less fun than the other options offered. 

 

Things I would change or improve:

 

Drop rate: Personally I wouldn't advocate changing it by that much, but I think trailblazer hit it on the head with the progressive 2x then 3x rate. I think even 2.5x then 3.5-4x wouldn't be overkill. Its a temporary game mode, and as long as we can be sure that items wont get leaked into the main game I think its ok to somewhat rain loot down on people.

Tasks: I think the amount of experience tasks in the master tier should be tailored a little bit. It was easily the most efficient way to get points and far from the most fun. Post 99, one or two XP milestone tasks would be reasonable.

Many of the Boss/Minigame KC tasks were borderline impossible to obtain given the length of the league, or just rewarded no points for the time required to complete them (e.g. 10,000 shamans rewarding 250 points, 750 Wintertodt rewarding 100 points.) Ideally, these could be scaled back and reward more points.

 

I think these changes would allow for a more fun, competitive experience in future leagues. The league should be about playing the content in the area you're restricted to, not killing 12,000 abyssal demons in the catacombs (sorry, Adex  ;) )

Most of the task was same as OSRS, only those tasks which got added few weeks from start of Leagues was not in OSRS. Same with the points rewards from tasks, they are same. It depends alot from your relics and what you wanna do to get your points, if you wanna get points by skilling, then take relics for that, if you wanna PvM, then take relics for that.

 

Was a fun run, but I got burned after 3 weeks, last days I didn't even login with my League account.

Some strong points, I didn't take too much part in this as I joined late and can't wait for the next one, maybe at some point in the future we could have Omi make some custom tasks himself, for the future of the leagues and pushing boundaries in area-locked content. Great feedback!

Good reading feedback post there @Big Pepe. I really enjoyed the league temporary game mode myself and can +1 with your feedback there.

I appreciate this feedback. I definitely agree that there were too many experience tasks. Like Adex said, we added a few custom tasks but most of them were based off of the twisted leagues tasks. The fact that we also further increased the experience rate probably made it more viable to grind out a few skills to grind points than most other methods. I think in the future, removing some skilling tasks from the league would be a good thing, as it would encourage a wider range of behaviour. As for the drop rate, it was 2.3x for this league, but Increasing it to 3x after tier 6 would be reasonable I think.
