This question comes up a lot and never has there been a direct correct answer.

I would like to know how cox drop % works , how do points affect the rate , what is the point cap etc, there is no drop rate confirmed nor the max points and does 2nd purple chance start growing after certain amount of points or is there a cap also.

Tob has an actual chance shown but cox there is absolutely no info.

The only info we have changes depending on which mod/admin u ask.

If u don't know the correct answer please redirect this to Omicron , since this question is asked daily and we do not have any actual idea.

I've asked this question a few times over the last couple years, and get a different answer every time too lol. I gave up on truly knowing lol... now I just go click bosses, and get lots of toilet paper.. errr, prayer scrolls I mean.

I don't know... but they won't tell you or us I'm sure. So presumably the minigame is a scam? It's really not worth doing unless you are with a friend or few and are just doing it for fun.. Or, are an iron account. Other than that, I feel like it is a 1/100 chance to get a purple. At least those are mine, and other average players odds. (for those who have less than uber rank) My old friend who was a ytber for Alora named EIM Bonk quit playing alora because cox luck was so bad and frustrating. I'm sure many other have quit doing cox too, for these reasons.. I wish others would speak out about it, too, instead of preferring to keep these things hidden in the dark for it to further ruin other peoples time and experiences with this game.. I would like it to be better and better, instead of getting worse than it was before.

Agreed , info on drop rates would be very good.

I am sure more than most players would want to see the % and how to maximize chances to get a purple instead of flying blind and praying.

Well that only added more mystery to the rates since mods and admins keep saying 8k is cap but in the video he clearly says that a 10k pointer has higher chance than the 7k ones. I mean we would have to know at least something about the points and how it affects the rate.

There are alot of opinions going around but some facts would be nice.

I definately agree we should have some set table to actually be able to view drop related information instead of wondering the entire time what the actual drop chance is.

From what I recall, in a solo anything past 8,000 points doesn't impact the chance of a purple. The limit goes up based on group size, although I don't know the exact numbers. For example, if you're in a duo, the limit might be 9,000 points, in a 5-scale it might be 11,000 points and so on.

If you're wondering why there's a cap on points in the first place, I believe the limit was set because you used to be able to abuse a bug to gather large amounts of points and get like 7 purples in 1 raid(but don't quote me on this).

As for the drop rate, only Omicron can confirm it, but if I had to guess then the drop rate with no donator rank/any boosts is like 1 purple every 150k points. On my ironman I was getting a purple every 10 raids while getting 8,000 points in solo's, having master donator rank, using both raid/drop boosters, and doing it during the Chambers of Xeric 1.2x boost.

On my main I was getting a purple every 5.5 raids with the same boosts as above, so it's hard to tell.

Does drop booster affect raids? I thought only raids booster would affect that

And how does it affect raids and how do raid boosters work , do they increase the cap since u get often capped without the booster?

Raid Boosters - They simply increase the amount of points you get through various actions in Chambers of Xeric.

E.g If you gain 50 points for dumping 1 cavern grub in the thieving room, the points received will increase to 67.5(+35% boost).

This booster is very useful if you struggle to reach 8,000 points in Chambers of Xeric.

So to answer your question @Bigboxbob , no it doesn't increase the cap, but simply increases the amount of points gained.

Drop Boosters - I don't really know myself, but if I had to take a guess, I assume it simply increases the chance of getting a purple.

E.g If you take the 1 purple per 150,000 points I mentioned in my previous reply; If you complete a raid with the drop boost active, it will increase to 1 purple every 127,500 points(+15%).
