#93844 Skill cape perks

Posted by zarfot on 25 June 2017 - 01:18 PM

So as most of us know jagex released " perks " with your skill capes following 99 in a stat. I've noticed on alora that the thieving skill cape does not offer the " 10% no fail " but the cooking cape offers " never burn "  It would be nice to see all of the skill capes offering their perks and max cape offering every perk of all the skill capes.

Attack Free access to Cyclops area found upstairs within the Warriors' Guild. -  INACTIVE - You still need tokens to enter.

Strength Unlimited teleports to the Warriors' Guild. - INACTIVE - All skill cape teleports only perform the emotes.

Defence Act as a permanent Ring of Life. This effect can be toggled. - INACTIVE - I died on several occasions and it did not set off ring of life.

Ranged Act as an Ava's accumulator. - ACTIVE

Prayer Act as if you are carrying a holy wrench (this does not stack with the holy wrench or ring of the gods). - INACTIVE - Prayer pots restore 31 prayer at level 99 prayer regardless of wearing the cape or not.

Magic Can cast spellbook swap once per day. - INACTIVE - We probably don't need this perk seeing as the altar is at edgeville.

Runecrafting Acts as all tiaras - INACTIVE - I don't think we need this perk either because the mage is in edgeville.

Construction 5 daily teleports to any player owned house portal. N/A  Although it would be a nice perk to see when the skill is released.

Hitpoints 2x HP restore rate (does stack with regen bracelet, doesn't stack with rapid restore prayer). - INACTIVE - The rate remains the same if you have HP cape on.

Agility Acts as a graceful cape, including weight reduction and set bonus. - INACTIVE - It does not reduce your weight.

Herblore Nardah herbalist will create unfinished potions for you, for 200gp each. (Same as desert hard reward). Also gives a pestle and mortar. - INACTIVE - This would be huge for alora because I know we all hate making UNF potions. - INACTIVE -

Thieving 10% better chance of succeeding when pickpocketing. - INACTIVE - I only tested it on heroes and the fail rate is the same as without the cape.

Fletching Can be searched for a mithril grapple and bronze crossbow 3 times per day. - INACTIVE - I don't think we would have a use for this perk.

Slayer Slim chance of being able to persuade a slayer master to reassign your last task. - INACTIVE - Tested on my alt and I can confirm it does not work.

Hunter 5 daily teleports to black or red chinchompas.- INACTIVE - All skill cape teleports only perform the emotes.

Mining 5% chance of receiving an extra ore while mining, up to adamantite (stacks with Varrock armour). - INACTIVE -

Smithing Acts as goldsmithing gauntlets. - INACTIVE - Goldsmithing gauntlets boost the xp when smelting gold and this cape does not offer that when smelting.

Fishing Unlimited fishing guild teleports. - INACTIVE - All skill cape teleports only perform the emotes.

Cooking Impossible to burn any food. - ACTIVE

Firemaking Acts as a lightsource. - INACTIVE - Although it would probably be useless on Alora. Maybe give it a small chance of burning 2 logs in one.

Woodcutting 10% increased chance of finding a bird's nest. - INACTIVE - Tested on my alt and I don't believe it increased the chances at all.

Farming 5% increased yield from herb patches (stacks with magic secateurs). - INACTIVE - Tested on my alt and can confirm it does not work.

The Inferno, Combat Changes & More!

June 24, 2017

Hotfixes:

Fixed bugs:

  • Fight caves fixed:
    • Regular fight caves was kicking people out. This has been patched.
  • News message saying that players had completed the Inferno when they die has been fixed.
  • Obsidian plate body turning into Granite when banking has been fixed.
  • Normal fight caves have been fixed (would kick you out)
  • Mechanic changes:
    • Sometimes, Range/Mage NPCs would be able to attack you through the pillar.
      • This has been patched.
  • NPCs spawning in bad locations:
    • Sometimes, NPCs would spawn partially inside the pillar. This should no longer happen.
  • Wave 68 (Triple Jad changes):
    • Attack speed has been increased.
  • Pillars now collapse on wave 67 instead of wave 68.
  • Fixed Inferno entrance no clipping if you were far away.
  • Fire max cape support:
    • Entering Mor-Ul-Rek is now possible by showing a Fire Max cape.
    • Entering the Inferno is now possible by sacrificing a Fire Max cape. If you have both capes in your inventory, though, it will prioritize the Fire cape.
  • Nibblers will now target the pillar they spawn closest to.
    • This should stop them from getting stuck when targeting a distant pillar.
  • TzHaar/Obsidian items no longer show up on rare drop yell.
  • Pillar health saving on re-log:
    • Pillars will no longer restore health to full if you re-log on a wave.
      • If they are dead, they will remain dead, otherwise they will come back with the same hit points on logout.

Updates:

  • F2P Shop changes:
    • An ironman-only version of Oziach’s shop with the Fancy boots and Fighting boots has been added.
    • The regular version of the shop with all of the F2P items will be shown to non-ironman players.
  • PvM record changes:
    • The “Boss record lectern” has been renamed to “PvM record lectern”
      • A 3rd option on this lectern has been added to list the total overall killcounts for ALL NPCs. The other two options for boss killcounts/times remain unchanged.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Raids tight-rope fixed:
      • Players should no longer get stuck on the tight-rope.
    • Donation collection box wait time reduced:
      • From 1 minute to 15 seconds
  • Trading post changes:
    • Listing confirmation:
      • After pressing the confirm button when listing an item, another window will show up asking you if you wish to confirm your offer (showing the price and quantity)
    • Your trading post can now hold more than 2.147b GP for you to claim.
      • It will show the full amount (eg. 10billion), but if the amount is > 2.147b when you try to claim, it will give you platinum instead.
      • The buy-all value for an item will now show platinum if over 2.147b. This does not mean you can use platinum to buy items on the trading post, though. It only means that the value will be correctly displayed.
  • Combat updates:
    • Major combat bonus calculation fix:
      • Thanks to @Dawarloch for the bug report!
      • When speccing with the Granite maul and switching weapons very quickly on the spec tick, you could potentially land a hit with the bonuses of the new item you equipped. (eg. Hitting very high after equipping Dharok’s axe right after gmaul spec — although it should have used the bonuses of your Granite maul)
        • This has been changed by reworking the way bonus calculations are made, and doing them on the same tick of the attack(animation), not the tick that the damage is taken. Of course, this also includes calculating your victim's defence bonuses which will be calculated earlier (when you do the animation, not when they take the hit)
          • This may have small implications on hybrid combat as well and should make damage more realistic as it is using the bonuses from the armour you were wearing when attacking and/or casting a spell.
            • This applies to all three combat styles.
          • With this being said, the protection prayer calculation has not been changed. It is calculated on a later tick, to give the victim a bit of time to throw up their protection prayer.
    • PJ timer corrected:
      • Reduced from 6 seconds to 3.6 seconds (6 ticks)
    • Void changes:
      • Void damage bonuses have been nerfed to 10% following the recent OSRS update.
      • Elite void now provides slightly more damage bonus than regular, at 12.5% to both accuracy and damage.
    • Magic combat update:
      • Multi-spell fixes:
        • When performing a multi-combat spell (eg. Ice Barrage) there was previously a delay before your spell hit the surrounding enemies. It should now be instant and hit them at the same time as the main target.
        • Previously, the extra enemies hit by a multi-spell would retaliate before the spell even hit them. This has been delayed.
      • “Un-freeze” bug
        • Previously, a bug allowed players to walk while frozen by using an item on something.
  • Data updates:
    • We have grabbed the latest data from OSRS, including:
      • NPCs, Animations and Graphics
      • Maps & Objects
        • Mor-Ul-Rek and the Inferno
      • Items
        • Obsidian armour, Infernal cape, etc.
  • Client fixes:
    • Mac client fix:
      • The client window on Mac will no longer be unnecessarily large.
        • This also fixes the empty black space at the bottom of the client on resizable mode.
    • Resizable FPS fix:
      • Some players on resizable mode were reporting low FPS — particularly those with the “transparent chatbox” setting on. This has been fixed and the FPS should be normal again.
    • Sky color fix for instances/wilderness:
      • Instances and caves (anywhere not above ground) should now have a black sky color as opposed to blue.
  • Mor-Ul-Rek and the Inferno:
    • The city of Mor-Ul-Rek is now available to be explored by those who are worthy enough!
      • To enter the city, you must show one of the guards your Fire cape to prove your worth!
        • Once you have done this once, you will be able to enter the city freely whenever you desire.
      • Obsidian armour can now be purchased for Tokkul in TzHaar-Hur-Zal’s Equipment Store.
        • Alternatively, it can be obtained as a rare drop from TzHaar-Kets.
        • When the set is fully equipped (plate body, platelegs and helmet), a 10% damage boost to melee accuracy and strength is applied to ALL obsidian weaponry. This stacks with the berserker necklace effect for a possible total of 30% increased damage with Obsidian melee weaponry.
  • The Inferno:
    • Outline:
      • Located at the centre of Mor-Ul-Rek, the Inferno is an extremely challenging battle that is not for the weak.
        • You must sacrifice a Fire cape to attempt it, but once you have sacrificed it once you can enter the Inferno as often as you desire.
      • NOTE: Upon entry, any Purple sweets in your inventory will melt.
    • Rewards:
      • Infernal cape:
        • If you make it through successfully, you will be awarded the exclusive Infernal cape!
          • This cape can also be combined with the Max cape to create the Infernal Max Cape.
      • Jal-Nib-Rek
        • A rare pet “nibbler” that can be obtained alongside the Infernal cape after completion.
      • JalRek-Jad
        • A custom pet that is unique to Alora, this pet can only be obtained by gambling your Infernal cape or through the webstore.
          • Due to the general dislike of the nibbler pet, we’ve decided to add an alternative, yet tasteful pet which, in our opinion, is more in-line with the type of reward the Inferno should provide.
    • Reward gambling:
      • You can speak to TzHaar-Ket-Keh near the Inferno entrance to gamble your existing cape:
        • You can gamble your cape for a slim chance at either the Jal-Nib-Rek pet, or an even slimmer chance at the JalRek-Jad.
    • Mechanics:
      • Pillars:
        • 3 pillars will be placed within The Inferno.
          • These will provide safe cover from enemies within the cave.
          • The locations of these pillars are randomized within 3 corners every single time a player enters The Inferno.
            • Nibblers will target them to try to collapse the pillars — therefore catching aggro for Nibblers early on is crucial for survival.
          • These pillars will collapse before wave 68.
      • Wave enemies:
        • Jal-Kek
          • Uses all 3 attack styles
          • Splits into 3 minions on death — each in their own attack style
        • Jal-ImKot
          • Burrow mechanic:
            • If a Jal-ImKot cannot reach the player, it will burrow into the ground and reappear next to the player to attack them.
        • Jal-MejRah
          • Drain 3 run energy per hit — as opposed to prayer drain as in fight caves
        • Jal-Zek
          • Attacks with Magic
      • Wave 68:
        • Three JalTok-Jads are spawned surrounding the you, and in a clock-wise order they will sequentially attack you. There is about ~3 ticks of time in between their attacks for you to switch prayers accordingly.
      • Wave 69:
        • The final and most challenging wave consists of a tricky battle between yourself and TzKal-Zuk, the final boss in the Inferno.
          • Essentially, you must hide behind the Ancestral Glyph (the floating shield) which moves back and forth along the lava.
            • If you are not behind this shield, or if it is killed, you can get one-hit by the boss quite easily.
              • Periodically, enemies will spawn and target the shield to take it down. It is in your best interest to get these enemies to aggro you rather than the shield to save it.
          • You must juggle attacking the boss, surviving against enemies (including another JalTok-Jad), and hiding behind the shield simultaneously to defeat this boss.
      • Extras:
        • Jad magic/range sounds have been added
        • Inferno music has been added, as well as the soundtrack for Mor-Ul-Rek!
        • Your TzKal-Zuk killcount/killtime will be recorded on the PvM Lectern.
  • Fight caves changes:
    • Normal TzTok-Jad fixes:
      • The combat mechanics/timers for regular Jad were highly inaccurate:
        • Both the magic/range delays have been matched to OSRS.
        • Projectiles and graphics have also been synched with the damage, so you get hit as soon as the fireball/range attack hits your character and not 1 tick after.
    • Fixed Fight caves (and other mini games) “escape”
      • There was previously a way to leave the mini-game while still being considered part of it, this has been fixed.
    • Pet gambling has been made easier:
      • There is now a higher chance to get the Ket-Rek pet from gambling your Fire cape.
  • Website update:
    • Our website logo/main background have been updated for The Inferno release!
  • Battle Royale changes:
    • Death mechanics changed in Battle Royale:
      • Your killstreak/KDR will be untouched.
        • This also applies to you if you die, you will not lose your kill streak or ruin your KDR.
      • The Wilderness scoreboard will no longer log your kill/death.
      • You will no longer receive PKP.
  • New command teleports added (Thanks to @Hexza for the suggestion)
    • ::pc
      • Takes you to pest control.
    • ::fish
      • Takes you to the fishing guild.
    • ::wc
      • Takes you to the woodcutting guild.
  • Store update:
    • JalRek-Jad has been added!
      • Cost: 2000 tokens
      • Untradable
      • This pet is only obtainable through the shop OR by gambling your Infernal cape, but the Jal-Nib-Rek (nibbler pet) must be obtained in-game.

#90601 [6/15/17] Killcount milestones, Snakeskin crafting, and more pre-inferno bug...

Posted by Omicron on 14 June 2017 - 11:07 PM

Hey guys,

This update is intended to hold things down while we finalize work on the Inferno, which should be available in Alora in the very near future! Some highly request bug fixes have been implemented, as well as an interesting new Killcount milestone system which boosts NPC drop rates when you hit certain milestones.

Updates:

  • Fixed NPC spawning issue:
    • Some NPCs weren’t spawning in instances in mini-games. This should no longer happen.
  • Killcount Milestone Bonuses:
    • Thanks to @Jare for the idea!
    • To make your endless PVMing experience more enjoyable, we’ve added a new system to give you a bonus when you reach PvM milestones!
      • For example, when reaching 100 kills for Corporeal beast, that drop will have a 5% better chance at loot. On your 500th kill you’ll have a 25% better chance. This % caps out at 33%, so after you’ve reached the 750 milestone it’ll always be 33% increased chance.
        • Example:
          • This means that if an Elysian spirit shield is 1/450 chance, on a milestone kill it’ll be 1/297 instead, making it considerably more obtainable.
        • An in-game notification will tell you when this increased drop rate takes place.
          • You’ll see a purple message that says something like“Your rare loot chance has been increased by 12.5% for your 250th Zulrah kill!”
        • This happens at 100 kills, and every 250 thereafter
          • (eg. 250, 500, 750, 1000, etc)
        • Formula = (killcount / 20) || 33.3%
          • Whichever of these is lower will be used.
        • This is similar to the permanent Uber donator drop rate boost of 7%, which also stacks with this.
  • Void equipment changes:
    • Buy-back price cut in half
  • Corporeal beast core fixes:
    • Dark cores will now de spawn when corp dies.
    • Dark core animations/bonuses fixed.
  • Drop rate changes:
    • It should no longer be possible to get two unique drops (Eg. Two Dagannoth rings) in one drop.
    • Additionally, it is now possible to obtain more than two drops from a boss.
  • Login screen “Last logged in X days ago” added.
    • We’ve removed the “You are logged in from IP / MAC” as some video-makers were forgetting to blur this out in their videos, and it is not necessary for most people anyway.
      • In it’s place, we’ve added the “You last logged in X days ago” function which will show you how long it has been since you’ve logged into the game
  • Duel arena fixes:
    • If you stake any item that you don’t have room for (eg. You’re holding 2.1b in your inventory and win 200m), the winnings will be added to your bank if possible. If not possible, the winnings will be dropped on the ground.
      • Messages will be sent to notify you if the winnings could not be added to your inventory, and whether they were banked or dropped.
    • Forfeit death bug fixed:
      • A bug has been fixed which caused a player to die and lose their items if they forfeited at the exact moment they take the final hit. It was a rare bug that only happened under unique circumstances, but a necessary fix nonetheless.
  • Background updates:
    • Major performance improvements across the board
      • Less CPU/Memory usage which lead to increased stability have been applied.
  • Trading post fixes:
    • Mostly performance enhancements to put less stress on the server, but also a bug fixed when refreshing search results for a player search which would show incorrect search results.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Dragon defender (or) is no longer stackable.
      • This means that it can be bought back from the Lost items manager.
    • Fixed bug that made it possible to pickpocket NPCs more quickly than usual.
    • Fixed misc. bug with cannons
    • ::discord command fixed — link was expired.
    • Staff command update:
      • ::steleto will no longer be silent if teleporting to an administrator.
  • Fixed Quick-prayer bug:
    • After dying (or entering an area where your prayers are automatically turned off), you would have to click twice to turn your quick-prayers back on. This has been fixed so that you must only click once as intended.
  • Giant mole killcount and kill time will now be recorded.
    • They’ll also show up on the boss PvM records lectern at home.
  • Snakeskin crafting:
    • Snakeskin (obtained by killing Zulrah) can now be crafted into different items!
      • Using a needle on a piece of Snakeskin(while having thread in your inventory) will allow you to craft:
        • Snakeskin body, chaps, vambraces, bandana or boots.
          • NOTE: In the GIF below, the wrong amount of required Snakeskins is shown for testing purposes. On the live game, it is matched to OSRS. You need a whopping 15 snakeskins to create just the body.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Item fixes:
      • The Scythe is now tradable.
      • Banshee set and Hunting knife configurations added (and made tradable).
    • Fixed object clipping issue:
      • Eg. Energy barriers at home could not be walked through. Not sure which other objects this affected, but the bug has been entirely fixed.
  • Free-To-Play Shop has been added
    • To assist in gearing for F2P Battle Royale events, you can now access the F2P shop which is located in the shop area and accessed by trading Oziach and contains:
      • Full rune, Fancy boots, Fighting boots, Rune scimitar, Rune battle axe, Rune 2H, Full green d'hide, Amulet of strength & Amulet of power, Coif, Swordfish, Lobster, Normal strength potion, Adamant arrows, Maple shortbow
        • Although most of these items can be bought from other shops, it makes things easier to place them all together. Also, the Fighting boots and Fancy boots are new to Alora and can only be obtained from this shop.

#51860 [2/8/17] Corporeal beast changes, Item switching overhaul, Giant Mole, Boss t...

Posted by Omicron on 08 February 2017 - 05:43 AM

Hey guys,

Although @Jedzio has already taken the liberty of creating the 3 month milestone thread, and has done a great job of doing so, I'd like to personally congratulate everyone on 3 months of Alora! It's been a wonderful ride, and I'm incredibly proud of everything we've achieved as a community and how we've grown, and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us :) Here's a balanced set of updates -- I tried to squeeze in a few necessary bug fixes (both server and client) as well as some cool new content which I've seen frequently requested.

UPDATE: Issued a hotfix to address Raids issue + Boss time records.

[Updates]

  • Fire Max Cape added:
    • The new Fire Max Cape featuring the moving lava has been added.
      • (Your old Fire Max Cape will be automatically converted to this version)
  • Mouse clicking system has been copied from OSRS
    • Many users have reported issues with the clicking system such as missed switches, hopefully this update will fix those issues.
    • Additionally, the issue of your mouse clicking the same place twice and not recognizing the movement has been fixed
    • This also fixes the item "double flash" issue when equipped.
  • Misc client changes:
    • Orb fixes
      • The colors of the hp/pray/run orbs have been fixed and updated to the latest used by OSRS.
    • Field of View / Mouse zooming changes:
      • The client is now "smoother" when using the mousewheel to zoom in and out.
      • It also has a field of view more similar to OSRS's
      • No more "stretching" of objects
      • Objects no longer go invisible when zoomed out all the way
      • Increased maximum zoom out distance
  • Duel interface fix:
    • Some players may have noticed the final duel arena interface "flashes" the items (including Dwarf remains) for a split second. This will not longer occur.
  • ::Drag commands:
    • These commands are meant to improve item switching to your liking:
      • ::drag
        • Sets both of the "drag" variables to your specified #. 10 seems to work well. (Eg. ::drag 10)
      • ::dragtimer:
        • This variable sets the "time" that your mouse has to be down to be considered a "drag"
        • Default: 5 (milliseconds)
      • ::dragdistance:
        • This variable sets the minimum "distance" that your mouse has to move from the original spot to be considered a drag.
        • Default: 5 (pixels)
      • ::dragreset:
        • Resets both drag values to 0
      • Note: Drag commands do not save on client exit! You must set them everytime the client restarts.
  • NPC/Player 'attack' option settings:
    • You can now set the preferences for the 'attack' option:
      • Dependant on combat level
      • Always right click
      • Left-click where available
      • Hidden
    • These will save on logout per-player.
  • Raids changes:
    • You must now have a total level of 1100 to enter the Chambers.
    • Reward rate has been slightly increased(more specifically, the "effect" that points have on loot has been increased)
  • Raids bug fixes:
    • Fixed the bug where Tekton would sometimes be unattackable for some players.
    • Ironman can now loot Bronze axes, small fishing nets and tinderboxes within the Raids dungeon
    • Dwarf multi-cannons can no longer be set up in raids
    • Fixed the location you end up in when you return through the final skilling room passage (should go back to Deathlies)
    • Fixed your screen being unclickable for too long when entering Raids or Olm's room (because of the fade screen)
  • Ring of wealth(i) effects enhanced:
    • Ensouled heads now have a higher chance of dropping while wearing the ROW(i)
    • Money caskets now have a higher chance of dropping while wearing the ROW(i)
  • Fixed walk-through door bug (mostly for Wilderness)
