First let me welcome you back to Alora. As for which gamemode you play, pick the gamemode based on your desire, goals, time and commitment.
Ironman - Fast pace gameplay that gets you quickly into endgame content.
UIM - Face paces gamemode with the challenge of no banking.
HCIM - If you are someone who can focus on the game and make sure you don't die. You can always continue as a regular IM if you die.
GIM - A good mid-level paced gamemode. Good for players that enjoy a slower pace skilling and combat phase before end game content. Also can team up with other GIM to form a group or join an existing group to help you get over your grind and loneliness.
EIM - Good for any players that enjoy a slow pace gamemode and have the time to grind it out.
Or if you have the time and commitment to spare, start a Realism

I feel neutral toward this. Players can easily abuse/boost this by taking turn pking each other in the wildy. It will be an annoyance to make sure this isn't abused or to proof that the player isn't boosting. For example, You see Player A and Player B killing each other over and over again at edgeville. You report the players as boosting for the drops to a staff member. When the staff ask Player A and B about it, they claim that they had agreed to pk duels for fun, without looting each others stuff.
Another thing is that you are getting the loot and pkp from the player you pk'd anyways, unless ofc you decide to kill a player with nothing on them or doesn't have risks.
