2-tick Salvaging Guide

This is a higher intensity, alternative method for salvaging with a significantly higher xp rate that becomes relatively competitive with trials.

I highly recommend using any Metronome plugin from the Runelite plugins at the start for learning this method.

You can also use in-game sounds as an indicator for when the salvaging hooks trigger.

• A Sloop with 2 salvaging hooks

How to begin the cycle

1.) Click one of the hooks, and as soon as the animation for the first hook begins, click the opposite hook.

2.) Once you get to the second hook, stay on it for 4 ticks or until the hooks animation fully stops.

3.) On the 4th tick or after the animation has stopped, click back to the beginning hook.

4.) From now on the cycle begins, and you will click the hook opposite to you every 2 ticks.

There are multiple ways to time both of the hooks to start the cycle, but I believe this is the easiest way.

The way this works is that salvaging hooks are on a 4 tick cycle; 3 idle ticks and 1 tick of scanning. The final tick scans for player interaction, which determines whether it rolls for a salvage or resets. This method offsets each hook by 2 ticks, meaning whenever you interact with either hook you will be on its scanning tick. Since the hook doesn't reset on the idle ticks, both hooks are able to be used. The chance to roll for a salvage now becomes every 2 ticks instead of every 4.
