What is your suggestion?:

Adding a timer similar to timers used for bonuses to let you know when you can claim another vote auth again OR make it so when you click "claim auth code" it tells you how much longer you need to wait instead of after submitting the code in order to minimize the amount of times I have to type the code in again to check how much longer I have to wait.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Just a QoL update to let us know when we can claim another auth code. It would make it so that I can check to see how much longer I have to be able to claim again without having to type the codes over and over.

I wouldn’t necessarily be against an infobox timer, similar to the Well of Goodwill/Bonus XP/Booster ones we already have, but it’s only a 5 minute redemption cooldown between auths, so..I’ll be neutral here.

This seems unnecessary as you really should not be needing to claim more than 2x votes per 12 hours. As per the rules, any manipulation of the voting system could result in punishment.

 

Also I believe the timer is just 5 minutes. I would suggest just using windows clock app or your phone to set a timer rather than using any dev time for this.

@Gl Okay so I have asked a couple mods about this in order to make sure I was not breaking any rules and for the sake and security of my account I'd like to ask you again in case this is wrong:

If I use multiple devices to claim auth codes (without ever needing the use of a VPN) is this allowed?

As it stands, it is possible to claim a vote auth code from my pc, phone, ipad, laptop, partners phone and ipad, etc. Pretty much anything with an internet browser can be used to do this and it seems like they are all their own IP address despite coming from the same wifi network. That being said though, I can also claim vote auth codes at work using their wifi on both my phone and my work computer. 

In 12 hours, I could probably claim up to 8 or more if I really dug deep in my junk drawers for old tech I don't use anymore.

Both mods I have asked about this said that this was fine. They said because they all come from the same IP addresses each time I claim on those devices and that I am not manipulating it via VPN that this was allowed.

but please let me know if this is incorrect. I don't intend to break any rules but as a player, I would like to know where that line stands. If players can do something to benefit their gameplay, they inevitably will do them.

That’s not always the case. Sometimes I vote from my phone or work PC and save screenshots/photos of the auth codes to use later since I don’t always get the chance to log in regularly. I mainly vote to support the server, while also saving up GP and vote points/bonuses for the future.

 

There was even one day last week where I had around 7 or 8 auth codes saved on my phone and ended up claiming them all within about half an hour. I’d be surprised if I’m the only person who does this.

This would be my biggest reason for support.

Unless there’s a truly adverse reason to show a countdown timer, I don’t see why not to support. The protocols and rules still exist.
