For instance, a completionist cape would be dope, but not on osrs

After nearly 15 years in RSPS communities I can safely say the basics are best. I remember lava party hats and winged capes being great to have fun with if you were just ready to abuse poorly balanced stats against all the monsters or other players in PVP. Now days I think it's best to keep those items out, never had them before don't necessarily need them now in this case.

15 years? I'm not sure servers have even been around that long though I wouldn't doubt it since I hear stories of RS Classic vets about the time when spells were colored *s. It's before my time, anyway, I'm only 21.

Like I said, i like customs that are well done but so few actually are. Most are shit done by some 16 year old that watched TheNewBoston's tutorial on Java and think they're experts.

Very rarely you'll see a server that does custom minigames and bosses quite well though. Not so much custom items since they take a lot more work to model and whatnot.

To be 100% correct it's 12 years, started when I was 9 on rscps. :)

More of a veteran than myself. I started playing Project Catastrophe in 2009 and joined the Moparscape forums in early 2011. I remember making shitty VB.Net applications back then. Surprised on how far I've come as a developer.

I think all RSPS' that use customs aren't really that good, my reasoning is because they just aren't very needed, and it always feels weird to even play a server with customs. I would understand if it was something along the lines as rares, like a variation of party hats but even then it's still not a nostalgic feeling. If that makes sense. I play because it's got an oldish/newish feeling to it, but nothing to significant.

That's crazy! Certain things feel so old to me such as this. I unfortunately don't recall the rscps I played by name but I remember some rather interesting experiences just dealing with the only version of the game and having that as a private server too, was cool. Good old Mopar back in the day, so long ago I remember when everyone used their web client to connect to ANY custom server, because it was the most compatible for models/etc. CRAZY long ago. Awesome man! Post some of your work from then to now, always cool to see progress.

Most people used webclients because that's what RuneScape themselves used and that made them look more advanced and it was a kind of one click and play. Now webclients are pointless and wastes of time since everyone has like 3 browsers with 40+ tabs open in each at once.

The reason I atarted playing Alora was becouse it didn't have any customs items.

Some servers tend ton add items that are graphicly super ugly on OSRS graphics.

I do want more stuff like @ Otto said.

I think that if customs were added, you'd start to see a lot of players leaving. It seems as if people are just looking for strictly 07 or anything without customs these days. Atleast, from a perspective view.
