Hey guys, just wanted to make a quick suggestion regarding staff login.

Every time a staff member logs in, I think it would be helpful to have a worldwide announcement stating that they have logged in, and to contact them if assistance is required.

For example : A staff member logs in, and a worldwide message is shouted like the ones below.

[Support] Poor Level 3 has just logged in. Message them with any questions or issues.

I believe this suggestion would be beneficial to know when staff members are logging in and out, and it would give more awareness with staff presence in-game, and would help players who are starting out in the game who might have concerns or questions, and would help people know when staff are logging in if they have troubles, rather than constantly checking ;;staff.

Feel free to add suggestions to this that may seem fit, and feel free to leave feedback to this with proper reasoning.

EDIT : As @ Sheep stated below, adding a timer between logins for staff members, so if a staff member disconnects or has to log out really quick, it will not keep spamming that they have logged in.

EDIT : As @ Error stated below, adding a toggle on / off button in the quest guide for players who do not care to see staff member logins.

Thanks!

You have my support! This is very useful for players who just started playing Alora.

Would be nice to see but when a staff member logs out then immediatley back in and again it would be annoying all the time, maybe if there will be a 15/30 min timer between a single staff member it would be nice.

Ooh yeah I like that, so if a staff member disconnects or logs out quickly for a few minutes, it won't keep spamming that they've logged in again.

If this was to be added an option to toggle this on/off would have to be added to the quest tab.

Agreed, some players might not need it, but it's more of a suggestion for players who are starting out and for players who don't want to constantly check ;;staff

Don't know how some of the staff got staff when they don't even reply to the problems I bring them.

Me: Hi

Them: Hi

Me: *states the problem*

>Player has logged out.

Nonetheless, support I suppose.

This could also get very annoying for the staff member, imagine if no staff have been on for a few hours then a mod logs in and gets 15 pm's at the same time... just gonna make helping all those people harder than if they all slowly starting pming that person.

I can definitely confirm this is a great idea because it only helps people to notice who from the staff gets online at around what time. I had this suggestion in my mind previously and I can now 100% support it.

There are times when I login, and do not get bombed with any msgs, which is confusing - either people do not have me added to FL or their PM does not send from the first time.

To make it as efficient as possible, adding login announcement will be a solution to my stated situation.

I do agree that it might get annoying when the member keeps relogging and whatnot, but from my past experience I know that 5min cooldown between the yells was enough not to get the chatbox spammed.

Also, having the ability to toggle it on/off at all times is necessary, too.

TLDR; great suggestion - definitely has to be implemented as it will be efficient without a doubt.

Could be alright but also could be very annoying for mods+.  On the fence.

This is a good suggestion, but for certain players like @ Omicron who always have their private chat off, they may not want it being known, nor will they be accepting pm's. I'm obviously joking! Just pulling omicron's leg.

I like the option to disable the notifications in the quest tab. Good suggestion.

Possibly certain staff could disable it in regards to themselves, specifically if they know they'll be logging in and out a lot.

Not sure if I support or not. Maybe i'd prefer a message when you login with something along the lines of.

If you require assistance, use the command ::staff

and private message one online.

or something along those lines.

Only because there is a lot of staff on this server(due to it's huge player base)

Fair, but I think it would just be so much simpler because the staff rank and name would be shown. Would be more aware when a higher ranked staff member logs in, as they can handle more situations. Plus seeing "Check out ;;staff" to contact staff would be annoying when it can simply show rank and name.

Fairly simple to code up, would take less than 5 minutes to implement. I support this with a one hour cut off time. So whenever a staff member logs in, it will check the previous login time. If it's been more than an hour the message will be displayed, if not than it wont.

Yup that's pretty much what we're geting at. Thanks for you input.
