I believe there should be some type of requirements involving forum post count/activity to apply for Server Support Staff.

  • E.G 75 Post Count on forums

I find this way Support Staff would further be able to help our community not only in-game but on the forums too.

Also due to the fact that I've noticed many people apply without having sufficient forums posts E.G 5 posts

No reason not to support this.

Forum's activity is just as important, in my opinion. I never took the forums for granted, therefore potential applicant activity on it plays a crucial role at all times.

Absolute support.

Yeah support, not a bad idea imo, some forums experience is never a bad thing.

No support.

When I was first became server supporter, my post count was barely 30. Even now, I'm not that active on forums and most of my time is lurking and reading responses. Although forums activity is mildly important, forum post counts isn't the greatest indication of activity. Even now, although my forums post count has increased, I don't post that often. I don't really expect server supporters to spam every thread on forums. Having a forum post requirement for an ingame rank just feels wrong to me.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway,

I agree with this but idk if it should be 75, that's kinda high just for server support. Maybe like 30?

No reason not to support this.

No support because fuck you.

In all seriousness though, I do think this should be a thing. The forums are just as much a part of the community as the server itself. Even though few players actually like posting on forums it seems like, they play a very important role in reporting bugs, suggesting new content and filing player reports. If you have no forum presence, it'd be very hard to do your job properly.

I'd even say more around 2-300 post count but then again I had over 5 or 6 thousand on Moparscape and nearly 13 thousand between a couple other forums I used to frequent, so I'm slightly biased in that regard.

Do you even forum, Diva? I never see you post.

I support this though, when I see people apply with just a single post or a couple and only a few hours spent online on the forums in the months they have spent here, it doesn't look so good. If you're wanting to be staff you should show dedication to everything Alora has.

Forum activity obviously is an important thing for staff members but I think it's important to keep in mind what @Mystogan is saying. A lack of posts isn't necessarily the same as not being active on the forum - lurking around is a thing.

I was quite surprised to see this wasn't a requirement at the start.

Adding the requirement will show the user is dedicated towards both playing the game and browsing the forums.

It's important to have a server support who is active on both parts of Alora due to people who cannot get in-game will immediately seek help on the forums (support section).

Support.

I do admit that I was baffled that this was not already a requirement when I applied in the past. Perhaps a post count of 50, though.

Been thinking of this suggestion, happy that someone posted it. I 100% that being a staff no matter what "rank" your getting. Example server support. You should be somewhat active on the forums. I fine it ridiculous when someone posts a "staff app." and they have 0 or 1 post. Yes, I know server support doesn't need forums activity because its mainly an in-game rank. But, its still important to have a requirement and plus its not that hard. I would say at least minimum 30. You can post 5 times a day you get it quickly. Sorry, if this sounded harsh in anyway I'm just voicing my opinion hopefully you understand that.

I'll set a minimum requirement from now on, however, it will not be 75 posts.
