Just gonna throw this suggestion out there, it just might keep me from having to mine 15k gold ore. Although it is extremely easy for most people to get 90 smithing, I propose that an NPC be added that provided the service of making your DFS for a price. Much like OSRS, it could be a way for irons / I suppose people who don't trust other with their vissy's to create the shield. Some people really cbf'd to mine/smith, I think especially irons/hcis.

 

Just a thought, I'll stress that this is implemented in OSRS and for good reason. Keeps those interested in PvM pvming.

Seems neat, but... here's where I disagree with it in terms of IM and HCIM. Currently it is more of a goal for them rather than a barrier. If you're taking on the HCIM/IM task, then you want there to be a reason to grind out certain things. To be able to smith that vissy into a DFS is an awesome reward for toughing out 90 smithing and then you get to wear that shield with pride.

 

With this update, it would just be a matter of getting a small amount of coin together and bam... loses its meaning.

I mean I agree with what you're saying, but I mean if OSRS does it maybe it's not supposed to be that big of an achievement. Just a nice shield that already takes some lucky RNG and a little extra cash (maybe like 25m or something idk).

I see where you're coming from, but on a server where so much is easy to obtain, it's nice to throw in a few things that aren't so easy to obtain.

 

I have to admit a lot of me thinks it's unfair to 6 months of previous IM/HCIM who have probably had to struggle to get that 90 smithing just for their DFS, so it would be a bit of a slap in the face to them to say they didn't need to do it after grinding hard for it, wouldn't you think?
