Note: This is only a partial update, as the server has not yet been restarted. Keep an eye out for a server update within the next ~24 hours, which will include a bunch of bug fixes as well a few new pieces of content  :)

Today’s update brings a huge update to HD mode which we’re sure you’ll love. We’ve taken some data straight from the original 2008 HD release on RS and implemented it into Alora. The world will now look far more high-definition as everything is able to be texturized (original HD textures) and blended to look more smooth. Performance-wise, you shouldn't see too much of a difference as long as your GPU isn't ancient, but of course you may see better performance without the textures enabled.

 

 

This update will automatically be enabled once you restart your client (it should ask you to download the latest update).

 

You can toggle the new features using the following commands:

  • ::textures
    • This will toggle the ground textures to be plain (as they were before) or high-definition textures (2008 HD release)
  • ::blending
    • This will toggle blending -- which will make textures flow into each other more smoothly. This works whether the texture option is on or off.

Seen a few people complaining about this already, but can't understand why. If you can toggle, there's no need to complain.

nice but sadly my laptop doesnt run all that well with hd graphics.. plus i prefer more of the old school look atm :)
