with rev caves just being released we've had alot of gp flowing in the game recently, i figure to counter this we need some more small money sinks so heres my idea

make blowpipe, trident, toxic trident, tent whip, toxic staff of the dead and serp helm use 1 charge per attack and charge with 1 zulrah scale and 1k gp per charge

meaning to fulling charge a blowpipe itd be 2500k gp and 2500 zulrah scales, this way it gives use to zulrah scales and gives the game a big money sink

How would this work with Ranged cape, Ava's accumulatoror and Ava's max cape? 2.5M to recharge isn't horrible considering how long they last but I'd like to see what others think about this.

Ironmen sure are gonna hate you after this.

 

OT: While I agree that money sinks are a nice thing to have, I'm not sure if this is the right way to go about doing it, at least not by applying it to the blowpipe. Curious to see what others thinks though.

The tent whip being destroyed after x ammount of uses would be good imo.

 As for the blowpipe idea to work, the ava's would have to stop working with the blowpipe itself to be honest, otherwise it would take too long to recharge it for it to be considered a money sink...and the trident...well.... Magic needs to be more usefull PVM wise.

im not saying what i thought up was perfect, considering im stoned, but its an idea we can start with and possibly make it work

Adding a money sink just to add a money sink is stupid.

If this was implemented I sure as hope the maximum of scales that could be charged would increase.

2500 -> 10000

 

2.5M isn't that much, but if you play consistently w/ your blowpipe

(Like getting 200m range) you're gonna lose 10m+ a day just to charge it.

There's already a timesink for ironmen/normal players and it's called making darts. 

 

I know the blowpipe is very strong here on Alora but I don't think this is the right way to stop people using it.

Nerf the blowpipe or increase range defense on bosses, adding this money sink when there are loads already in the game is idiotic.

 

I know how easy it is for normal players to use the economy to gain 2.5m, Ironmen have to thieve for a half an hour to get 2.5m.

So not only is making darts gonna be a timesink but getting enough money to charge it each time also is.

Every 2500 darts you're gonna run out of scales and it's gonna take you 1 hour to charge from scratch.

That's a full workday every week just mindless clicking/ smithing darts just to be able to play the game like normal players do.

 

I might be overexaggerating a little bit but I hope you get my point.

I give no support to this suggestion.

saiter youre not really understanding my point on this one, and i know the ironman grind considering i have a maxed ironman aswell, i just think adding this money sink would be a good counter balance to rev caves, because they are bringing in a shit ton of raw gp every day. also, if youre that worried about the gp cost just go kill revs for 20 minutes and youll have 10m+ to charge with

Judging by the feedback I don't think that this idea will fit for Alora.
