Recently we have been hearing alot of complaints about the Theatre of Blood drop rate and today I have for you a thread showcasing the Theatre of Blood drop rates for Legendary and Uber donator ranks consisting of roughly 60,000 raids (10,000 x 6) for those ranks in 3 man team/5 man team and with the 15% drop booster you can purchase from the store here https://www.alora.io/store/.

Firstly, the most recent ToB drop rate buff happened in September of 2020 which goes as followed

  • Theatre of Blood drop rate changes:
    • We’ve heard your feedback, and have decided to further increase the chance of getting a purple chest from the Theatre of Blood.
      • Previously, the rates were approximately a 1/(11*# of teammates) chance of getting a purple chest before any boosts, assuming that no one died (this is the potential for each player in the raid, since we don’t limit the drops to 1 purple chest per raid).
        • We’ve decided to increase this chance to 1/(9*# of teammates) before any boosts, and assuming no deaths, which would bring the chance of getting a purple chest to approximately 1/45 for a 5-man raid, as opposed to 1/55, which is approximately a 20% increase on all purple chests.

Omicron himself ran these trials to show the drop rates below

Theatre of Blood Simulation:

Legendary Donator:

Trial 1 (5 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of Purples in this player's name: 202

Team size: 5

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 2.02%

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming all legendary) = 10.1%

Trial 2 ( 3 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of Purples in this player's name: 335

Team size: 3

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 3.35%

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming all legendary) = 10.05%

Trial 3 ( Drop Booster Activated 5 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of purples in this player's name: 263

Team size: 5

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 2.63%

Using drop booster? True

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming similar conditions): 13.15%

Uber Donator:

Trial 1 ( 5 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of Purples in this player's name: 236

Team size: 5

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 2.36%

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming all Uber) = 11.8%

Trial 2: ( 3 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of Purples in this player's name: 355

Team size: 3

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 3.55%

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming all legendary) = 10.65%

Trial 3: ( Drop Booster Activated 5 Man Team 0 Deaths)

Number of raids: 10,000

Number of purples in this player's name: 292

Team size: 5

Deaths: 0

Chance to get a purple = 2.92%

Using drop booster? True

Chance for any team member to get a purple (assuming similar conditions): 14.6%

The drop boosters on Uber Donator give a additional 23% Drops while doing Theatre of Blood through out the total 10,000 raids and as a Legendary Donator you can see a potential 30% increase in drops from 10,000 raids. With that being said drop boosters only give a 15% increase so in certain scenarios there is a higher drop rate potential.

At the end of the day these simulations were RNG based just like we are RNG based in game and there is still the potential for you to be Above and Below the drop rates of Theatre of Blood.

Thanks for reading and we here at Alora.io are looking forward to seeing your feedback.

Wait you mean to tell me it's coded right, but people have bad RNG sometimes? Surprise! :Pog:

Very informative, thank you. Would be curious how deaths affect drop rate but I'm sure he doesn't want to disclose too much.

Would like to see 10k sims with 1 death on each, just curious if planking matters at all.

Good topic to provide some evidence on average drop rates. Something similar for CoX would be interesting to see.

I don't mind disclosing this information, essentially deaths reduce your chance to get a rare drop by the following amount:

maxPoints = teamPoints + (totalDeathsForAllPlayers*4)
percentageReduction = teamPoints/maxPoints

So for example if your team had earned 60 points, but had 2 deaths, they would be at a total of 52 points (4 points lost for each death), and then the chance to get a rare drop would be reduced by 1-(52/60) = 13.3%. It's worth noting that a player dying will affect the whole team's chance of getting loot.

I am sure Omicron can get rates with 1/2 deaths etc but as we all know he is a very busy man with updates to push out. Maybe in the future if he has time to do it I can add the deaths to this post.

Very clean post, Classic. But this doesn't explain why I haven't had a Scythe of Vitur drop in my 10 runs.

Very nice to see the numbers.
Just curious tho. What would a raid booster do to this.
Or are they basicly useless for tob?

Thank you for the excellent explaination.  Do you mind explaining what a "teamPoint" is? Do we just start with 60 automatically for completing all the rooms?

It's the sum of the points your team has earned. These points can be seen when you're purchasing supplies in the raid (purchasing supplies doesn't actually reduce your team points, so it won't effect your rare loot if you're buying supplies).

and how do we get these points? is it the same as osrs?

solos don't calculate points properly per room.

ALSO, classic the "buff" from the update seems wrong. Omicron keeps telling me 100% confirmed   1/11

no one does 5 man anymore because of the drop rates being 1/55 (chance for each person in the raid), if you're going to show numbers wouldn't solo be a more accurate drop rate reading?

I would really like to see what the drop rate is for duos considering most who grind it really hard usually don't run more than 3 people.

Is it much worse drop rate when you don't have legendary/uber donor?

Legendary donator doesn’t give a drop boost at all.

And uber donator gives a permanent 7% drop booster.

So basicly every donator rank ( or non donator) under uber should give the same rates as shown above.

However it’s still RNG! i only got 2 purples in 150 kc with immortal rank and alot of drop boosters and on tob bonus.

Most of these tob’s where either trio duo or solo. So yeah fuck my rng.
