What is your suggestion?:

I have a few wildy suggestions to try and ramp up some wildy activity etc.

 

Put a buff on the Rogue castle chests. It's set good for 07 stuff but this is a RSPS. If there is more activity there apart from a blood key chest that is slightly dead content (ironmen can't do) there could be an idea to draw people there especially maybe forming clans and what not. 

 

Larrens key: make the drop table a little better suited for a rsps and move the chest to a pking hotspot location instead of completely out of the way.

 

Saw someone suggest king of the hill event, that would be super cool. A couple wildy events during peak times could seriously spike wilderness activity and bring new players.

 

Clan wars events, do a few events a week teams and clans can sign up for. Provide some gfx to the winners and some ingame items/gold.

 

Turn edge into a bounty hunter area, give incentives for pking in edge for activity, maybe some extra money or pkp if ou have full dh equipped or if you use a dbow/dds for ko weapon etc. 

 

Wildy slayer reworks, give boosted rates for larrens keys, chance for wildy slayer boss while doing wildy slayer that has special drops for supplies and loot.

 

More daily tournaments maybe like automated ones every 4 hours that give reward crates randomized to suite ironmen and regular accounts evenly.

 

Maybe make stars last a bit longer? They go away so fast

 

Is this in OSRS?:

Most of this is not in OSRS but it's based off OSRS gameplay.

 

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

 

A couple I touched up on but also most are new ideas.

 

How would this benefit Alora?:

The wilderness being active is nice to bring along a large group of players to the server for some good activity especially if it's more inticing for iron men to use and pkers to pk no only the people doing the events/upgraded gameplay but each other as well.

1) Ironman can utilize the bloody chest - either buy the key from daily task shop or create it from drops. No Support 

 

2) Chest is already in deep wildy, Dagon Hai drop gets announced as well, with our teleport systems its easy enough for pkers to get there quickly. No Support

 

3) We have the supply chest that appears randomly which attracts pkers/people towards it already. No Support.

 

4) Unfortunately there is only two major clans on Alora and only one pk's regularly. Otherwise this would've been good. Neutral.

 

5) -

 

6) Would like to see some increase in drops from wildy slayer, especailly superior, but I'd stray away from adding extra supply crates/loot etc. Neutral

 

7) Hard to do with Staff timezones. I would disagree on giving ironman reward crates etc.

 

8) Support.

@Formula One already touched on this a bit, but you can also get a lot of bloody keys from PKP shop as iron if you do a lot of wilderness skotizo. Also, you can get full bloody keys from revenants. No support

If anything, maybe it could drop slightly more of the items it already drops compared to brimstone chest. Doesn't need any additional items and the location is fine. Neutral

Could be a cool idea, but I feel like it would truly become dead content and I don't know how worth it is for the dev time as they're currently pretty backed up on content. Neutral

We used to have some PvP events like this back in the day. But they weren't clan vs clan specifically. I don't really think the idea of clan vs clan is very suitable as there is only two real clans which doesn't make for much competition. No support

We already have a bounty hunter system that I don't see the dev having an interest in changing. But some Daily PvP tasks to be completed in edgeville for some bonus rewards could be pretty cool. Support

I support this since I have always wished this would happen. I would suggest:

  1. Making every 10th wilderness task you complete in a row upgrade an emblem
  2. Be able to receive up to a T4 emblem from NPCs on task, depending on their combat level
  3. Making non-boss tasks give an additional 5 slayer points. Increased points on boss tasks would be too OP since they can be done very quick by choosing only 3 KC.

LMS is already implemented and dead content as is, so it would be very cool for automated LMS tournaments to happen every 3 or 4 hours. Support

Stars are already OP enough. The amount of time they last depends on how many people are mining it. The wilderness ones already last a lot long since a lot of people don't go to them. No support

1) Yea but they can't pick up the keys, would probably be waaay more active if they could? The stat requirements should be same as supply crate if not to avoid spamming it on alts.

 

2) Not really bro, and I rarely ever see people doing larrens keys even on my iron just observing the area. I don't think there is a single iron on the game that goes out of their way for larrens keys in support of dragon hai unless they want collection logs..

 

3) I've been to multiple supply chests, lot are in single and the ones in multi are pretty dead.. King of the hill is an event in multi that players sole purpose is to pk each other and gain pkp etc. Obviously there is a game system for a reward but it's a way different type of event to drive activity.

 

4) All of these ideas are to bring pkers to Alora so clans can form. All it takes is a couple groups of 3-5 friends to grow a few pretty decent sized clans and create a lot of fun. These events could really help initiate that.

6) The supply crates for supplies should be the blighted supplies so that way it's only useful in the wilderness, not in the regular game outside wildy

A lot of these ideas are to maybe help support group wilderness activity which is where clans form. All it takes is a group of 3-5 friends on a discord to build something decent. With some events like this you can have 3-5 groups of 5 people and that's where it all starts to build. To have clans you need events and pking and incentives for them to come play including multi and edge pking.

 

I really think stars for irons and regular accounts should work different so that way we can make them last longer... Every star I try and go to while still even trying to learn where they are i get like barely any time on it and almost nothing lol...

Ironman not being able to pick bloody keys up is done on purpose due to the high level rewards the chest can offer, it’s mainly to try protect the integrity of the gamemode - while still offering some incentive. Regardless if it’s opened on an alt or not - it’s quite easy to PK someone as the chest does get announced when being opened and it’s super easy to teleport out there and not to mention you get skulled in the process, therefore there’s no real benefit to opening on an alt or main(which would be the better option as a higher donor rank increases rate loot chances)

If you say supply chests are dead, an event that spawns in the wilderness where a player can receive some high level items (even Ironmen can participate), then I don’t think adding in another event with rewards would make any difference. Just as Ruwk mentioned with LMS.

Clans - the issue isn’t wilderness activity. It’s people’s activity in-game. If you have a look at the clan recruitment section - multiple people have attempted to start clans, however they all eventually leave and die off. Larger clans like AFM and Ice have worked due to people sticking to the game. Though major clans just like Dynasty and Paragon - can die off as well due to people changing their focus in life.


I’m all for increasing wilderness activity, not attacking your ideas at all - just playing devil’s advocate on why these may not work when put into practice from someone who’s seen the highs and lows of this server.
