Hello everyone,

I’d like to inform you that Alora will soon be undergoing major backend changes and switching hosts to improve our uptime, latency, and DDoS protection. I’m sure some of you may have noticed random disconnections or increased latency periodically, and we’ve decided to address this while simultaneously changing the way that clients communicate with our servers to improve our defences against malicious attacks.

The server migration will take some time, and although we’re not 100% sure how long it will be offline for, we are estimating that the website and game will both likely be unavailable for 2-3 hours.

On the bright side, we’ve split the login servers up in multiple countries, and when you play you will be automatically routed through the closest one to you (with the lowest ping), which will reduce latency tremendously for our players who are in North America / Australia, and may also improve for some EU players depending on your location. We are also moving to a host with generally better connection speeds, uptime and less latency.

The downtime is scheduled to begin later tonight, September 4th at 12AM EST / 4AM server time.

Although the downtime is no fun, we assure you that we'll be working on getting things back and running as soon as possible!

Hey guys, we have a few updates that happened over the weekend. Thanks for everyone applying throughout the week and we have added some individuals to the team that did so. Hope you guys have a good week/weekend!

 

I want to say thank you to Draisaitl and hsoJ for putting in the non-stop time and effort into performing on the staff team and reaching the Administrator rank. They have both done very well and continue to improve everyday. We believe these 2 are more than deserving of the position and will continue to do their best and improve daily.

As the title states, it's a rather daft task to have and at the risk of sounding offensive, it's just a blatant cash grab. 

Many players, particularly the newer ones/non-normal mains won't have the ingame cash to buy it and are forced to either spend $10 or lose their streaks. 

Having spoken to a few players about it, I can't find anybody who thinks it is a good idea apart from possibly the merchers.

There's many other tasks that can replace this and I implore you to consider other options.

Congratulations to the newly promoted, looking forward to seeing you guys in action, and of course - big congratulations to those who have been promoted to a higher role, you all deserved it. Hope everything works out for you all, good luck.

 

Two sad losses, one being very unfortunate it seems...Thank-you both for your time and contributions to Alora, and best of luck with your future endeavors. 

Some big changes, but I feel this time around the staff team is ready for it.

 

Postimees/Hot Cakes has being a solid staff member so such a long times and I thank him for that.

 

Salter has being solid from the start and has great activity, while Jare can help out with all of his experience.

@Hot Cakes You are a friend, a mentor and one fantastic staff member. I'm very sad of your departure but all good things must have an end. I hope you return under different circumstances and that I'm here to witness your return. I am truly greatful for you being there for me for all kinds of matters. You've been my close friend since I joined the staff team and you've been nothing short of great. I wish you a fantastic future and good luck to whatever you decide to do next.
