#310490 [17/8/19] Prifddinas & The Gauntlet, Forthos Dungeon & Sarachnis, Com...

Posted by Omicron on 17 August 2019 - 10:04 PM

Hotfixes [20/8/19]:

  • Vengeance spell fixes:
    • The last update broke the vengeance cast animation due to the update below (but has now been fixed):
      • The Vengeance spell no longer disrupts a player's walk animation unless they're already in a PvP area when they cast it, intending to minimise affecting genuine PvP situations while limiting the ability to lure using the spell.
        • This means that outside of wilderness areas, you can continue to run while casting vengeance.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Fixed bugs with Salamander catching
    • Fixed requirements on Crystal equipment
    • Fixed Amlodd's Rune Shop in Prifddinas
    • Fixed Air runecrafting altar (broke last update)
    • Sarachnis fixes:
      • Sraracha drop rate fixed (was not difficult enough)
      • Spiderling spawns will no longer appear at the Edgeville respawn point.
    • Salve amulet effect now works on Undead Druids
  • Gauntlet changes:
    • Drop Changes:
      • Weapon frame drops will now be more common, especially in the Corrupted gauntlet (was slightly lower rate before).
      • Crystalline rats will no longer drop the red (Corrupted) Grym leaf, they will drop the normal one instead.
      • Items dropped on the ground in the Gauntlet will no longer despawn, allowing you to run back to them to pick them up if you're low on inventory space.
        • This includes loot dropped by NPCs, which you can now leave on the ground and will not despawn.
    • Hunllef changes:
      • The Magic attack which disables your prayer will now be a pink projectile as intended. That way, you can know when your prayers are about to be turned off.
        • You'll also always see the purple explosion graphic at the end of the attack, even if the attack splashes. This is to help show you that you've been affect by the prayer disabling.
      • You can now 'run through' the Tornados during the Hunllef fight and not take any damage. Note that you may still take damage if you are walking through them.
      • The Hunllef's name was sometimes not showing up in the NPC health overlay, and in the right-click context menu. This has been fixed.
    • Other:
      • Chopping down Phren roots in the Gauntlet no longer gives bird's nests.
      • Mobs will no longer spawn on top of objects (Dragons specifically)
      • The right-click option on the boss barrier (Quick-enter) now works to enter without the warning dialogue.
        • Additionally, the boss will now automatically attack you after you enter (regardless of your distance to it).
      • The fading interface will now appear smoother and slightly shorted then before. (The one used when entering, dying, or killing the Hunllef).
      • Gauntlet loot yell announcements will now show the proper killcount.
      • Fixed a bug which allowed you to pick up multiple Grym roots instead of 1.
      • A bug which made your sceptre have the same bonuses as a halberd if you ended with a halberd the last game has now been fixed.
  • Crystal impling fix:
    • Crystal implings should no longer get stuck in unreachable areas in Prifddinas.
  • Bank deposit box for UIM changes:
    • Ultimate Ironman can now use items on Bank deposit boxes to note/unnote (previously only allowed by bank booths).
      • This allows UIM to note/unnote at the Gauntlet bank deposit box.
  • Skilling fixes:
    • Essence mining fixed
    • Air Runecrafting fixed
    • Gem rock mining fixed
  • Item on object fix:
    • Certain objects were broken when using items on them (eg. Unnoting items on some bank booths). This has been fixed.
  • Mining fixes:
    • Many rocks were broken around the map, especially in the Donator Zone. These rocks should now all function as intended.
      • This also fixes the bug which was causing Amethyst ores to make an empty space in the wall when mined.

Hello everyone,

First of all, we'd like to thank all of you for your patience during this update. I know that it was a long wait considering we had just started getting comfortable with weekly updates, but I promise that it was worth the wait, just see for yourself below! Chad and I have been grinding relentlessly to piece this update together, and we're extremely excited to announce that we're now the first RSPS with The Gauntlet! It is essentially OSRS's version of dungeoneering, but it is not a skill. You'll have approximately 10 minutes to run through a dungeon to collect supplies and create your own armour, weapons, food and potions to prepare for the boss fight against the Hunllef.

We're also the first RSPS with the city of Prifddinas, which contains a new Agility course, the Elven crystal chest, Crystal implings, a Crystal crown worth 2.147b GP, and much, much more. On top of this, we've pushed the new Forthos dungeon with the Sarachnis boss, as well as a host of other updates and bug fixes we're sure you'll love.

Without further ado…

  • Update to latest OSRS version (#181):
    • We've officially updated to the latest version of OSRS, which means that we have the latest maps, objects, npcs, items, etc.
      • In the past, this was not extremely difficult, but OSRS has recently 'shuffled' many of the IDs for objects and npcs. This means that, for example, if the Banker NPC had the ID 394, it now had ID 1027, in a completely random order.
        • This posed some difficulties as OSRS hasn't done this in years, but we've managed to overcome this obstacle and have developed some tools to unscramble the IDs relatively quickly if they choose to scramble them again in the future.
  • Pet loss bug fixed:
    • A bug which caused you to sometimes lose your pet (eg. When teleporting out of an instance or dungeon) and not be able to find it again until re-logging has now been fixed.
      • Your pet will teleport to meet you should you leave an instance or dungeon.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The coal bag now appropriately allows players to store 36 coal in the bag if they have a smithing cape/max cape/completionist cape.
    • Fixed a few bugs with the coal bag when adding/removing coal.
    • Trading post will now only exchange sets if the item used on it is part of a set that can be exchanged.
      • Previously, if you had an Ahrim’s robe set and used any other item, for example a banana, on the trading post, it would exchange the set in your inventory.
    • Orb charging now works with the runes provided by staves.
    • Fixed a bug that caused players to not be able to set anymore salamander net traps even though none were currently set.
    • Fixed a bug where players could use a suitable item on a closed compost bin and it would reset the bin.
    • Fixed a bug that caused Ardougne cloak 4 teleports not to work in equipment interface.
    • Suitable items will now be automatically added when used on a compost bin, instead of having to use each item 1-by-1.
    • Updated the Ardougne cloak/max cape teleport graphics and animation.
    • Some maps were corrupted and would display thousands of 'Petrified spine plants', such as next to Experiments. These spine plants should no longer appear in those areas.
    • Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix platebody, platelegs and helmet now equip to the proper equipment slot.
    • Fixed an issue with some Sand crabs not retaliating. Some duplicate spawns were also removed.
    • Mask of balance changes:
      • The Mask of balance no longer makes the back of your head invisible.
      • The mask is now tradable.
    • Corporeal beast is now more difficult to damage with Ranged attacks.
    • Added proper crystal bow green arrow graphic.
    • Eternal teleport crystal/regular teleport crystal now work as a means to travel to Lletya and Prifddinas.
    • The string jewelry spell now counts towards the achievement.
    • Fixed an issue where players could complete various quests without having the proper requirements.
    • Skotizo will now only teleport players that are within distance of him
      • Previously, if he used the his teleport attack, and you teleported away, he would teleport you back to him.
  • Wilderness task emblem upgrading change:
    • The previous update added a chance of upgrading emblems when slaying your assigned Wilderness task. If you had a Tier 10 emblem, since it could not be upgraded you would receive a Tier 8 emblem. Rather than Tier 8, you will now receive a separate Tier 7 emblem as the upgrade for Tier 10.
  • Forthos:
    • Players can reach the dungeon by speaking to the teleport wizard, or going down the leader north of sand crabs.
    • Olbertus:
      • Players can speak to Olbertus to obtain a temple coin by either fighting him, or paying him 5 dragonstones.
        • If you pay him 5 dragonstones, you will obtain a temple coin, and 100 bones will be added to the sacrificed bone count on the Sacred Bone Burner.
    • Stone Relief:
      • Players can use a temple coin on the Stone Relief to access a hidden room where they can tan hides and sacrifice dragon bones to the Sacred Bone Burner.
        • Players will receive 3x the prayer experience for burying bones if they have at least 100 bones sacrificed to the Sacred Bone Burner, otherwise they will receive no exp.
      • Once a player has sacrificed 200 bones to the Sacred Bone Burner, they will receive a temple key, which they can use to permanently unlock the Western and Eastern gates in the dungeon.
        • If the player loses this key before they unlock the gates, they will NOT be able to get it back.
      • Players can check their faith on the altar to get a rough idea on how many bones have been sacrificed to Rolos.
      • Once the temple coin has been added to the stone relief, the gate leading to the room with the Sacred Bone Burner will be accessible.
    • Shortcut:
      • There is an agility shortcut in the dungeon to go to the red dragon area, which will require 75 agility to use.
    • Grubby Chest:
      • If players obtain a Grubby Key from a monster within the dungeon, they can use it to open the Grubby chest, which rewards a random food item, potion item, and loot item.
    • Undead druids:
      • The Forthos dungeon is home to these druids, who are known for their unique masks (the Mask of ranul) which can be obtained as a rare drop.
      • They also drop numerous Herblore secondaries, many herbs and almost every seed available.
    • Note:
      • Dwarf multi-cannons cannot be used in the dungeon.
    • Sarachnis:
      • Players can now fight Sarachnis in the Forthos dungeon.
      • Mechanics:
        • Sarachnis primarily uses Melee/Range as its main attacks, and will attack with melee if it’s within range.
        • Every 4 attacks, Sarachnis will spawn sticky webs around all the players in the room and they will be unable to move for up to 5 seconds, while Sarachnis retreats into a corner.
        • When Sarachnis has 60% and 30% of its health left, it will summon 2 spiders to attack each player in the area, one spider uses mage, while the other one uses melee.
          • When Sarachnis dies, the spawns will also die.
        • If Sarachnis lands a hit on a player with melee, it will automatically heal itself for 5 damage.
      • Loot:
        • Sraracha:
          • Players have a small chance to obtain the pet upon killing Sarachnis.
        • Jar of eyes:
          • Players have a small chance to obtain the Jar of Eyes, which can be used to setup the display in a player-owned house.
        • Sarachnis will always drop 1-3 noted red spiders’ eggs per kill.
          • This is not implemented in OSRS, however we know that some players have been requesting more ways to get Herblore secondaries, and a logical way to get the red spiders’ eggs them seems to be from Sarachnis.
        • Sarachnis Cudgel:
          • Players have a small chance at obtaining the Sarachnis cudgel when killing Sarachnis.
          • The cudgel is a one-handed crush weapon that requires 65 attack to wield.
        • Giant Egg Sac:
          • Players can receive the Giant Egg Sac as a drop, which when cut open will provide the player with 100 red spiders’ eggs.
  • Prifddinas:
    • Access:
      • In order to enter Prifddinas (and any of its content), you must meet the following requirements:
        • All quests completed
        • At least level 70 Agility, Construction, Farming, Herblore, Hunter, Mining, Smithing and Woodcutting
    • Iorwerth dungeon:
      • This dungeon is found beneath Prifddinas and contains a variety of Slayer monsters.
        • Dwarf multi cannons can be used in the dungeon, though the whole dungeon is single-combat.
        • Monsters:
          • Dark beasts, Nechryaels, Bloodvelds, Waterfiends, Moss giants
    • Agility course:
      • Players with 75 agility can now use the Prifddinas agility course, which can be accessed by climbing the ladder just outside of the north-western bank in Prifddinas.
        • Each run, one of 6 portals placed around the course will be visible to players, and you can use it to skip an obstacle and get teleported to the next one.
          • There is also a chance to get a crystal shard when going through one of these portals.
    • Crystal implings:
      • Crystal implings can now be caught within Prifddinas! These cannot be caught anywhere else, and are rare spawns within the city. Catching these requires level 80 Hunter and grants 280 experience.
        • Notable loot:
          • Elven signet
            • This is a unique ring only obtainable from Crystal implings, which offers a 1 in 10 chance to not use a charge when using the Blade of Saeldor (when worn).
          • Elite clue scroll
          • Dragonstone (x2), Dragon dagger (x2), Dragon dart tips, Onyx bolt tips, Dragonstone amulet
    • Divine potions:
      • Taking a sip of a divine potion will decrease Hitpoints by 10, and players can only drink a dose if their Hitpoints are higher than 10.
      • Creating divine potions will provide 0.5 base Herblore experience per dose made.
      • Players can now make divine potions by using crystal dust on select pre-made potions.
        • Crystal dust can be obtained by using a pestle and mortar on crystal shards. Each crystal shard will provide the player with 10 crystal dust, and each dose that is turned into the divine variant will require 1 crystal dust to make.
        • Divine potion variants:
          • Divine magic potion:

          • Divine ranging potion:
            • This potion will apply the normal ranging potion boost for 5 minutes, during which the player’s range will not drain(unless other potions/spells drain it) until the 5 minutes are up.

          • Divine super defence potion:

          • Divine super combat potion:

        • This shop has limited stock, and can be used by ironmen.
    • Lliann's Wares ~ Crystal Crown
      • This is a new shop in Prifddinas that sells the Crystal crown, and various other crystals used to recolor the crystal crown.
        • The price of the crown is 2.147b, only to be owned by the wealthiest of players.
          • The crown is untradeable, and cannot be re-sold back to the shop once purchased.
        • There are also various other crystals in the store that are used on the crystal crown to recolor it.
          • These crystals cost 5m each, and crowns can be re-colored multiple times by using different crystals on them.
    • Pickpocketing:
      • There are various NPC’s around Prifddinas which players can now pickpocket.
        • Level 85 thieving is required to pickpocket these NPC’s, and they give 5000-9000 coins per thieve most of the time, with a small chance to receive other various items from them, such as the following:

          • 15 Nature runes
          • 2 Jugs of wine
          • 2 Cut diamonds
          • 2 Fire orbs
          • 2 Gold ore
          • 1 Crystal shard
          • 1 Enhanced crystal teleport seed(Very rare)
      • Each successful pickpocket will yield 353 base thieving experience.
    • Trahaearn Mine:
      • Players can now access the Trahaearn mine by entering the cave slightly south of the crystal staircase at the centre of the city.
      • This mine includes various ores, including runite ores, which players can mine if they have the necessary level.
        • There is also a mine cart which functions as a bank deposit box, so players can deposit their ores once they’ve filled their inventory.
    • The Gauntlet:
      • The Gauntlet is a solo mini-game in Prifddinas in which the player is given a limited amount of time to explore a completely randomly generated dungeon layout, gather supplies and resources by utilizing both skills and combat, in preparation to fight the Crystalline Hunllef.
        • Access:
          • It can be accessed through a portal in Prifddinas, or through the Teleport wizard.
          • Additionally, you can type ;;gauntlet to teleport there quickly.
        • Objective:
          • You must move through the dungeon to explore the different rooms, which may contain resources or monsters, or both.
          • You have 10 minutes in the dungeon to gather resources and equipment for the final fight. Once the timer runs out, you are teleported into the final room automatically and must fight to the death. You can enter the boss fight room earlier if you choose, which can lead to better loot.
          • Different resources can be collected through Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing and other gathering methods. These resources can be cooked into food, and some are necessary for creating weapons, armour and potions which will assist in the final boss fight.
          • Smaller crystalline monsters, such as bats, rats and unicorns can be killed for supplies, while higher level monsters such as Dark beasts and Dragons offer better drops at the cost of taking more time to defeat.
          • The Crystalline Hunllef must be defeated to complete the dungeon:
            • The Hunllef primarily attacks with range or mage. It always starts with magic attacks, and after 4 attacks it will alternate to ranged, and so on.
            • The Hunllef also will always have a protection prayer up, and after every 6th hit it receives it will change it’s prayer to your last attack style.
            • If you walk under the Hunllef, you may get crushed by a Stomp attack that deals up to 40 damage, so you'll want to stay out of its way.
            • The room will constantly have dangerous tiles that you can’t step on. At first, these tiles will turn blue to warn you and give you time to run off of them. Once they have turned orange, they will damage you every tick you are standing on them.
            • Occasionally, the Hunllef will summon 2 whirlpools that chase you around the room. You’ll have to outrun these for 14 seconds, otherwise they will deal damage constantly if they reach you.
          • Completion of the Gauntlet will reward players with various loot, including crystal armour seeds to create new Crystal equipment.
            • Dying or leaving early may still grant small reward for your time and effort, but does not grant any unique rewards.
        • Corrupted Gauntlet:
          • Players who are up for a real challenge can enter the Corrupted Gauntlet, which is a fiery red dungeon that is very similar to the regular gauntlet, though with a few key differences:
            • Rather than 10 minutes to explore the dungeon, you are only allowed 7.5 minutes.
            • Rather than 600hp, the Hunllef has 1000 hp.
            • Upon completion, you have a better chance of obtaining a unique reward, and better base loot.
            • Upon the first completion of the Corrupted gauntlet, you will receive the Gauntlet cape.
  • Teleport wizard additions:
    • The Teleport wizard has numerous new locations to teleport to: (a (*) denotes requirements to enter Prifddinas):
      • Mini-games:
        • Inferno teleport
        • (*)Gauntlet teleport
      • Dungeons:
        • Forthos dungeon
        • (*)Prifddinas dungeon
      • Cities:
        • (*)Prifddinas city

#310044 Making Super Combat Potions with Torstol unf pots

Posted by Local Pub on 14 August 2019 - 07:51 PM

What is your suggestion?: Ability to make Super Combat Potions with Torstol (unf) Potions.

Is this in OSRS?: Yes (very recent update) https://i.imgur.com/PAEO2d9.gifv

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: It was declined years ago, I'd assume because it wasn't in 07 at the time (?)

How would this benefit Alora?: For noobs like me who goofed, and when making unfinished potions with Zahur, made Torstol (unf) potions, would give the ability to still make super combats with them, rather than have them just take up useless space in bank.

Welcome to the fourth official edition of the King of The Skill event!

In this edition, we will be using the "Hardcore Ironman" Gamemode. It was by far, the most voted one by the players, and I am sure we are all going to have a blast!

#308299 Disabling the timer off drop/raids/clue boosters for Classic Mode

Posted by Vespy on 02 August 2019 - 12:35 AM

I have a suggestion to disable the cooldown timers of boosters on Classic Mode accounts. They were bought out when Classic mode was their own eco but since they are merged with the normal player economy there isn't really much point to the timer cooldown. It limits the ones who do excessive raiding/pvming/clues from being able to use them constantly which I personally have found to be kind of annoying as of recently as I recently just got my classic account back. Would be amazing if you could please consider this change.

Ps. Sorry for not using the suggestions format that there is, this isn't on Osrs so I didn't really see much point.

Thank you for taking the time to read this :)

Hello dads,

in this topic I will be showing off some of the drops, achievements and collection log accomplishments that i achieved on my realism account "Horus".

Its nothing special so far, but I will keep updating it from time to time with random stuff.

I didn't screenshot everything important, but ill show what i have !

I don't have any skilling goals, Maxing is not on my plans anytime soon. I was never a skiller, some of the skills literally piss me off so with  that being said, maxing will come with time (fuck runecrafting).

Random Screenshots/achievements:

Spoiler

PS: I see a lot of people scared of trying out realism because the "2x XP gamemode" scares them. It is never 2x because of the way alora works, and this is by far the most rewarding gamemode I have ever played. When you do slayer, and get any type of drop, it either has value to you , or it sells on the market. PVMing and bossing are actually fantastic money, getting a skillcape is a huge accomplishment, etc etc.
Don't be scared, come  join the fun !

Hope you enjoyed dads, love you all. <3

#303864 [6/7/19] ZMI Runecrafting, Silver Jewellery, Draynor Rooftop Course, Clue Boo...

Posted by Omicron on 06 July 2019 - 11:50 PM

Hello everyone,

Note: Abyssal tentacle degrading was originally in this update, but has since been removed and may be polled at a later date.

As promised, our second batch of weekly updates is now live! We've taken some time to adjust the Theatre of Blood drop rates, as they were recently released by the OSRS development team. On top of this, we've got plenty of new content such as ZMI Runecrafting, another low-level Draynor Rooftop Agility Course and fully treatable and enchantable Silver Jewellery. We hope you find can all find something to enjoy in this update! :)

  • ZMI Runecrafting:
    • Players can now access and use the ZMI altar!
      • Players must run through the long/safe path, or dangerous/short path to get the altar, and can craft pure essence on it. The altar rewards all runes except for Wrath runes, and has no level requirement to use. With that being said, the higher your Runecrafting level is, the more likely you are to get a better rune.
        • Players will receive 1 rune per pure essence they craft, or 1-2 runes if they are donator+.
        • Players can't teleport out of the ZMI area, unless they use the Ourania teleport in the Lunar spell, which is free to use, as all spellbook teleports are.
    • Access:
      • You can teleport to the ZMI area through the Teleport Wizard, or through the Ourania teleport in the Lunar spell book.
  • Blood Runecrafting change:
    • Blood runes are now crafted with Dense essence blocks, similar to soul runes, rather than pure essence.
  • Abyssal tentacles dissolving:
    • The Abyssal tentacle now degrades. When you create one, it has 10,000 uses, and once the uses are up, your tentacle consumers your abyssal whip, and returns a tentacle to the player.
    • Players who have a tentacle in-game currently will have 10k uses automatically added to their accounts.
  • Trader Stan's charter shop has been added:
    • Trader stan is in Port Sarim, and he sells general items, including glassblowing pipes, buckets of sand, seaweed, and soda ash, and is accessible by all game modes.
      • His stock, unlike other shops in Alora, goes down in number when people purchase items. These items slowly restock over time (2 per 30 seconds).
  • Barehanded impling catching:
    • Players can now catch implings barehanded. If the player has the necessary level (see hunter guide), they can catch implings barehanded without any net required.
  • Silver jewellery crafting and enchanting:
    • You can now craft Silver jewellery by using your Silver bars on any furnace while having the appropriate mould (and gem) in your inventory.
    • Jewellery that can currently be created and enchanted:
      • Opal Necklace:
        • Requires level 16 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use the level 1 enchant spell on an Opal Necklace to create the Dodgy Necklace, which provides a 25% chance to succeed with a pickpocket if you were going to fail it.
          • The necklace has 10 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the necklace to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Opal bracelet:
        • Requires level 22 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a bracelet mould. Players can use a level 1 enchant on an Opal Bracelet to create the Expeditious bracelet, which provides a 25% chance to decrease the monsters left on a task by 2, as opposed to 1.
          • The bracelet has 30 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the bracelet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Opal amulet:
        • Requires level 27 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 1 enchant an Opal amulet to create the Amulet of Bounty, which provides a 25% chance of not using a seed when farming.
          • The amulet has 10 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Jade necklace:
        • Requires level 25 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use a level 2 enchant on a Jade necklace to create the Necklace of Passage, which provides various teleports around the game.
          • The necklace has 5 charges, and will break after they are used.
      • Jade amulet:
        • Requires level 34 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 2 enchant on a Jade amulet to create the Amulet of Chemistry, which provides a 5% chance to receive an extra dose when creating potions.
          • The amulet has 5 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Topaz necklace:
        • Requires level 32 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz necklace to create the Necklace of Faith, which will boost a players prayer by 10% if their hitpoints fall below 20%, and they are wearing the necklace.
          • The necklace will turn to dust when the perk is used.
      • Topaz bracelet:
        • Requires level 38 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a bracelet mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz Bracelet to create the Bracelet of Slaughter, which provides a 25% chance to not decrease the monsters left on a task.
          • The bracelet has 30 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the bracelet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Topaz amulet:
        • Requires level 45 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz amulet to create the Burning Amulet, which provides various wilderness teleport options.
          • The amulet has 5 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
  • Draynor Rooftop Agility course:
    • The Draynor Rooftop course is now available for low-level Agility training!
      • With a requirement of 10 Agility, players now have an alternative to the Gnome agility course for low-level training.
      • The full course will give 120 experience (before multipliers) as well as 1-2 Marks of grace upon completion of a lap.
  • Cape changes:
    • Max cape update:
      • The 'Features' right-click option while the Max cape is in your inventory can now be used to swap your spell book.
    • Max cape options have been added to the following combination capes:
      • Fire max cape
      • Saradomin max cape (+imbued variant)
      • Zamorak max cape (+ imbued variant)
      • Guthix max cape (+imbued variant)
      • Ava's max cape
      • Ardougne max cape
        • This cape has only been given some of the options (notably the Spellbook swap) as it already has its own options.
      • Infernal max cape
      • Assembler max cape
    • Monkey (completionist) cape options update:
      • The Monkey has been given the same right-click options in the inventory and equipment tab as the Max capes.
        • Previously, it only had a Teleport option in your inventory. It will now feature the Spellbook swap option as well, and both options will be available in the equipment tab right-click.
  • Vote reward shop price fixes:
    • We intended to make the Rogue outfit 2,000 points (and 1,000 for restricted game modes), but following the previous update it was 2,250 points.
      • We've corrected this to 2,000/1,000 by reducing the price of the Rogue mask to 350 from 500, and the price of the top/bottom to 575 from 625.
  • Slayer vote book bonus fix:
    • Due to the Slayer bonus from Vote books only being a 25% increased, this means that if you receive 2 points, 25% more is 2.5, which the server would then round down and keep at 2.
      • This is now fixed, and the server will round upwards instead, to give you 3 points (effectively a 50% bonus in this case).
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The Wilderness supply chest would spawn about 2 seconds before the announcement was made, but it will now spawn simultaneous to the announcement.
  • Edgeville dungeon / Varrock sewer obstacle pipe:
    • Players with 51 Agility can now use the pipe to cross between these two areas, which should speed up Red spiders' eggs collecting.
  • Client updates:
    • The zoom buttons in the Settings tab have been fixed to properly zoom in and out. The middle button resets the zoom to the default.
  • Wesley the Crusher:
    • Wesley is now standing near Zahur by the Edgeville Furnace to crush your Herblore items for you!
      • He can crush any item that requires a Pestle and Mortar, such s:
        • Unicorn horns
        • Blue dragon scales
        • Bird nests
        • Chocolate bars
        • Goat horns
        • Kebbit teeth
        • Lava scales
        • Superior dragon bones
      • Wesley charges 500 coins per item, and is able to crush noted items. (except for Bird nests which are un-notable)
        • This price is reduced for Donator ranks:
          • Normal: 500
          • Regular Donator: 475
          • Super: 450
          • Extreme: 425
          • Legendary: 375
          • Uber: 325
          • Master: 275
          • Immortal: 200
  • Sand crabs:
    • Sand crabs can now be fought in Zeah!
      • These crabs are located on a sandy shore south of Zeah, which can be accessed by using the Teleport wizard and going Monsters -> Sand Crabs.
      • They have more hitpoints than Rock crabs, and there are more of them, making it a prime area for combat training.
    • Seaweed spawns:
      • There are now a whopping 28 seaweed spawns along this shore, making it the best area for collecting seaweed at the moment. There is also a bank chest on the shore.
    • Crabclaw Isle:
      • A private island to fight crabs is available to the south of the shore, for a fee of 100k GP.
        • You can stay here as long as you'd like, but if you leave, you'll have to pay another 100k to revisit.
  • Theatre of Blood changes:
    • Killtime record QOL:
      • The killtime records will now display the full team for ToB, whereas it usually shows 3 players maximum for other bosses/mini-games.
    • Points system / Loot rate matching OSRS:
      • OSRS recently released the exact formulas (# of points given for different actions in the raid, and how the affect the loot rates) which we've taken the time to implement into Alora's Theatre of Blood.
        • We now have near-100% accurate rates for the reward system in the Theatre of Blood.
        • This also means that Lil Zik is completely separate from the loot table, and is rolled at a 1/650 rate but does not affect your rare loot whatsoever.
      • Here's how it works in a nutshell (full image below with more details):
        • An 'invisible' point system in the background keeps track of your progress:
          • Dying reduces your points.
          • Dealing the most damage in a room/phase gives you more points.
          • Participating in each room gives you points. (AFKing will not)
          • Raid boosters increase the # of points you can obtain.
        • At the end, 1 player will be chosen as the MVP, which will be eligible for the rare loot.
          • The MVP is chosen based on how many points you have out of the team total.
            • For example, if you have 30% of the team's points, you have a 30% chance of being the MVP.
            • The MVP will then roll for the rare loot, which has an 11% chance. This 11% chance is reduced by deaths in your team, but is also increased by the vote bonus, server bonus on weekend events and drop scroll boosters.
              • Once you hit the rare drop table, you will be guaranteed one item at the following rates:
                • 1/19 -  Scythe of Vitur
                • 2/19 - Ghrazi rapier
                • 2/19 - Sanguinesti staff
                • 2/19 - Justiciar face guard
                • 2/19 - Justiciar chest guard
                • 2/19 - Justiciar leg guards
                • 8/19 - Avernic defender hilt

  • Store updates:
    • Clue booster:
      • Clue boosters can now be purchased from the donation store!
        • These will boost the chance of obtaining super rare loot from opening Clue scroll caskets by 20% for 1 hour, at the cost of 15 tokens.
          • Ideally, you'd complete your caskets and save the clues before using one of these boosters to maximize the benefit.
          • The booster will also increase your chance of receiving the Clue hunter outfit pieces.
          • These can be purchased by any game mode, but have the same restrictions a well:
            • EIM/GIM cannot open another booster if there is still time remaining on the current one.
            • EIM/GIM/HCIM/Classic/Realism can only open 1 Clue booster every 3 hours.

#303761 1 Year as an Event Manager / Administrator

Posted by KP on 06 July 2019 - 01:49 PM

I don't even know where to start, this year went by so fast...

This year was the most fun I have ever had in a videogame, from helping every player I can help, to hosting events for people to have fun while playing Alora, it's been fantastic.

I was promoted to Admin/Event Manager on the 5th but I had a busy day so I couldn't really make a post about it, today will do!

There were only ups really, no downs. I could be here mentioning the bad thing that happened during this year, but I can't recall any, the worst day I will have as an administrator/EM is if @Vuqe gets a twisted bow during my raids bonus...other than that I should be fine.

I could tag a TON of people that helped me become a better staff member and in everything else I needed, but this shit would be packed with tags.

I want to thank @Omicron and @Lowkey for the opportunity, they trusted me all along, Jay even put trust in me when no1 else did, when my application looked like crap, he still gave me the opportunity. That I will never forget.

I wanna thank @God, because God is the reason everything happens in your life, and it wouldn't be a wholesome post if I didn't thank @God.

@Scuffed EIM  @Loo @Hellish @Banks @Mack @Salter @Groot @Kharyrll @Kaamea @Mhk @Paine @Moe @To gain @Doofy @Not Tauri @DB Aspect @Noobair @Revol  @Elite Sheets @EIM Ninja @Laardii @Konar @Steel Nogan @Vuqe @Deadcat22 @Extremedanny @Iron Redius @Ryuu @smiv  @Chelle @Dante @Mob @Shane @Watch Hentai @ Easts @Ragragrag46 @Horror @Not a Nerd @Bladder @Jisoo @Sheep @Trailer Park @MADASFUK

I am 100% sure a lot of people are missing, but you know who you are either way.

Thank you for making this ride so much easier.

Next stop, 2 years!

Love you all. <3

#302581 [28/6/19] Birdhouses, Barbarian/Minnow Fishing, Skillcape Perks, Ents, Larran...

Posted by Omicron on 29 June 2019 - 12:24 AM

Hello everyone,

Today's update comes with an exciting announcement: We now have another developer! Many of you are aware that Alora has been solo-developed for most of the past few years. In the last few months, my brother (Chad), who many of you already know and have interacted with, has taken the time to familiarize himself with Alora's code and has reached a point where we both feel confident having him work on updates full-time. He is a programmer as well, and he is more than capable of adding quality updates to Alora. This update is the result of that, and we're excited to return to doing large weekly updates to keep things fresh!

This update contains a bunch of new content, including Birdhouses, Skillcape perks, Barbarian fishing, Ents, Larran's key (Wilderness Slayer key) and more. We made sure that there was something for everyone in this one, so we hope that you enjoy it :)

  • Vote book personalization:
    • Vote books now allow you to choose what type of bonus you'd like to enable once every 12 hours!
      • Rather than only being an XP boost, you can choose from the following boosts:
        • (All of the boosts below stack with other bonuses, such as Weekend bonuses)
        • XP - 60 minutes of 50% boost
        • PKP - 45 minutes of 25% boost
        • Slayer points - 45 minutes of 25% boost
        • Barrows points - 45 minutes of 25% boost
        • Pest control - 45 minutes of 25% boost
        • Castle wars - 45 minutes of 25% boost
        • Raids - 45 minutes of 5% boost
    • Notes:
      • You'll still be able to open other vote books before 12 hours has passed (unless your game mode restricts it), but they will only allow you to select XP bonus.
      • Donator bonuses work on these skills, as you'll see below in the GIF I actually receive 67 minutes of Raids bonus rather than 45 due to my Immortal donator giving me 1.5x the usual time.
  • Boost Display:
    • A new button in your quest tab has been added to display a full list of your active experience boosts!
      • Boosts displayed:
        • Server boosts (eg. Weekend events)
        • Vote boosts (eg. From the list above)
        • Boosters (eg. Drop booster from donation store)
        • Other (eg. Gods blessing timer from fighting God bosses or playing Castle Wars)
  • Minnow fishing:
    • Donators can now take the row boat from the Fishing guild to the Minnow platform!
      • Equipped with a small net and level 82 Fishing, you can fish minnows on the platform. You will receive minnows in bunches of 10-14, granting 26.1 experience per bunch.
        • You can then exchange these Minnows for noted Sharks with Kylie Minnow on the platform.
      • Note:
        • After you have amassed 3,000 minnows in your inventory, you can no longer fish anymore on the platform. You will either have to exchange them through Kylie or bank them to continue fishing.
  • Realism rapier:
    • As promised, the Realism-only weapon is now available! You can obtain the Realism rapier by speaking to Paul at home. The cost is 500k GP, as it is a relatively powerful weapon.
      • This rapier is slightly more powerful than a Dragon scimitar, though it has a high stab bonus rather than slash. It has an Attack requirement slightly lower than that of the Dragon scimitar, at level 50 Attack.
      • When fighting with this sword, it has the same graceful rapier animations as the Ghrazi rapier.
      • The sword is untradeable and can be reclaimed from Paul if lost on death.
      • Bonuses:
        • +70 Stab
        • +45 Slash
        • +67 Strength
  • Birdhouses:
    • Birdhouses can now be used to train Hunter on Fossil Island!
      • Location:
        • To reach this area, you can use the Skilling menu through the Teleport wizard.
      • Creation:
        • Birdhouses are created by using Clockworks (purchasable in the Construction supply store) with any type of log, while having a hammer and chisel in your inventory:
          • The type of birdhouse created, Crafting level required to create it and XP gained, as well as the Hunter level required to set up the birdhouse depends on the logs used. A table has been posted below with all of the details.
      • Setting up:
        • Birdhouses can be set up in 4 different locations across Fossil island, which you can quickly teleport between using the Magic Mushtree network.
          • You can use any birdhouse on any one of these 4 spaces to set up a birdhouse trap.
          • Once set up, you'll need to fill it with 10 of any Hops seed or Herb seed. If using a Wildblood seed, or any Herb seed that is Ranarr or higher, it will count as 2 seeds and you will only need 5.
      • Managing:
        • After depositing 10 seeds, the trap will begin to catch birds. It will catch 1 bird every 5 to 10 minutes. After catching 10 birds, you will be notified by chatbox message that one of your traps is full.
          • At any time during the process, you can dismantle your birdhouse to re-obtain the Clockwork. You will only ever need 4 Clockworks.
            • If your trap caught any birds, you will receive 5-6 feathers per bird and 1 raw bird meat (dropped on the ground).
            • When dismantling a trap with birds, you have the chance to receive Bird's nests at the following rate (per bird caught):
              • Regular - 5%
              • Oak - 7.5%
              • Willow - 10%
              • Teak - 12.5%
              • Maple - 15%
              • Mahogany - 17.5%
              • Yew - 20%
              • Redwood - 25%
  • Barbarian fishing:
    • Players can now fish Sturgeon, Trout and Salmon at Otto's grotto to earn Agility and Strength experience alongside the usual Fishing. XP.
      • Players who wish to fish here must have a Barbarian rod and bait.
        • Barbarian rods can be purchased from Gerrant's fishing shop, or players can search the barbarian bed in Otto's house to obtain one.
          • Requirements:
            • All fish ~ 15 Strength and Agility
            • Trout ~ 48 Fishing
            • Salmon ~ 58 Fishing
            • Sturgeon ~ 70 Fishing
    • Access:
      • You can use the Teleport Wizard to teleport here, by navigating to the Skilling menu. (Location name: Otto's grotto)
  • Arclight fix:
    • Although the Arclight did indeed reduce enemy Defence and was stackable, it was not properly stacking for Attack/Strength reductions.
      • It should now work as intended, reducing all three in a stackable manner.
    • Additionally, the stacking effect was being added multiplicatively manner, similar to the Dragon Warhammer special (meaning each special attack would reduce the enemy's stats by a lower amount than the last) rather than additively.
      • It will now be stacking additively, meaning each hit will indeed reduce enemy stats by 5% (or 10% if against a Demon) rather than a lower percentage each hit.
  • Ents:
    • Ents found in the wilderness can now be chopped after dying.
      • Chopping their remains will allow you to obtain several sets of noted logs according to your Woodcutting level.
      • You also gain 25 experience per set of logs (no matter the type).
      • You can receive better logs when using a Rune or Dragon axe.
  • Larran's Key:
    • Larran's key has been added! Players have a chance to receive Larran's key (a stackable item) by killing monsters on their wilderness slayer task. Players can then go to either Larran's chest (big, in deep wilderness, or small, in low wilderness) and open it to receive items.
      • Items in the chest are similar to Brimstone chest, but with the unique items removed.
      • The big chest has better drops than the small chest due to the danger of opening it in deep wilderness.
  • Graceful fixes:
    • Wearing mixed pieces of Graceful was not working properly and has now been fixed to give the same effect no matter which combination you are wearing.
  • Castle Wars:
    • The time between using bandages has been cut in half.
    • Kills and deaths will now be displayed in the chatbox at the end of a match.
    • Rather than 10 barricades per player, the limit is now 10 barricades per team as intended.
  • Clue scroll changes:
    • You can now right-click clue scrolls to check how many steps you've completed on them.
  • Weapon fixes:
    • Toktz-xil-ul (Obsidian rings) now work as intended.
  • General content updates:
    • Ugthanki kebabs are now edible, and heal 19 HP, causing your player to exclaim "Yum!".
    • Cave horrors can now be assigned as a Hard slayer task, ranging between 40-110 assigned.
    • 2 Red spider egg spawns have been added to Varrock sewers, to match OSRS.
  • Skillcape perk updates:
    • Attack skillcape:
      • Wearing this skillcape grants free access to the Cyclops room in the Warrior's guild, and will not deduct any tokens when you are inside the room as long as you are wearing the cape.
    • Strength skillcape:
      • You can now use the Strength cape to teleport directly to the Warrior's guild.
    • Prayer skillcape:
      • Players wearing the prayer cape (or trimmed, or max cape) will now receive an extra 2% of their current prayer added to their total prayer from drinking any potion that restores prayer.
    • Construction skillcape:
      • Players can now right click to teleport to their house with the construction cape.
    • Runecrafting skillcape:
      • Although not in OSRS, we have added a perk which gives a bonus amount of runes based on the total amount crafted with multipliers. For example, if you're crafting double natures, instead of 56, if your multiplier is 15%, you'll get 64.
        • The bonuses are as follows, and require all players to be wearing either a runecrafting skillcape or max cape:
          • Regular player, Donator or Super donator: 5%
          • Extreme/Legendary donator: 8%
          • Uber donator: 10%
          • Master donator: 12%
          • Immortal donator: 15%
    • Agility skillcape:
      • Players can now use Agility skillcapes and the Max cape(s) as a graceful cape.
    • Thieving skillcape:
      • Players wearing Thieving skillcapes (or Max cape(s)) will now have a 10% lower chance of failing when pickpocketing or cracking safes.
    • Crafting skillcape:
      • Players can now use the cape to teleport to the Crafting guild an unlimited number of times.
    • Hunter skillcape:
      • You can now use this cape to teleport between 3 different Chinchompa areas:
        • Red chinchompas
        • Black chinchompas
        • Donator zone chinchompas
    • Mining skillcape:
      • You now have a 5% chance to get an extra ore when wearing this cape.
    • Smithing skillcape:
      • Players can now use the Smithing capes or Max cape(s) as Goldsmith gauntlets to get bonus XP whenever smelting or superheating gold ore.
    • Fishing skillcape:
      • Players can now use this cape to teleport to the Fishing guild and Otto's grotto.
    • Woodcutting skillcape:
      • Players now get a 10% boosted chance for a Bird's nest (stacks with donator benefits) if they're wearing a Woodcutting skillcape or Max cape.
    • Farming skillcape:
      • Farming yields are boosted by 5% if players harvest their crops wearing the farming cape.
    • Other capes:
      • Ardougne skill cape (and Max cape) teleports added:
        • You can now use these capes to teleport to the Ardougne farm or Monastery.
      • Monkey (completionist) cape now works for all of these effects.
      • Max cape teleports:
        • You can now use the Max cape right-click teleports to teleport to the following locations:
          • Fishing guild
          • Warrior's guild
          • Crafting guild
          • Otto's Grotto
          • Any Chinchompa teleport from the Hunter cape
          • Player-owned house
  • Miscellaneous / Bug fixes:
    • The Bandos altar in the Godwars Dungeon now works as intended.
    • Item value fixes:
      • Infernal pickaxe value has been increased for it to protect over other items on death.

      • Broad bolt Ranged projectile has been corrected.
      • ;;fishing (along with the old ;;fish) command can be used to teleport to the Fishing guild.

#298486 Realism Mode + $1,500 Tournament Announcement

Posted by Omicron on 02 June 2019 - 07:11 PM

iwy1SN1.png

June 4th Changes:

  • Drop rate boost removed:
    • After receiving feedback from players, the drop rate boost was unnecessary for a realistic game mode, and posed a risk of increased item flow to the normal game economy (through killing Realism players) which is not necessary. Thus, we've removed this boost.
  • Launch time change:
    • We've decided to make the release time earlier, it will still be this Friday (7th of June), but will be at 12pm (noon) EST rather than 9pm. This is 4pm server time!
      • This will give participants the full weekend to level up and get a good start on the competition.
  • Clarification on in-game restrictions:
    • Bloody keys and Wilderness supply chests (also being released this Friday) will initially be unavailable to Realism players for the tournament. This will be polled after the tournament.

Hello everyone,

We're excited to announce Alora's upcoming game mode! Realism mode will be the most challenging of the game modes we've released as of now, and will appeal to only the most dedicated of players. This game mode will also bring a fresh, new economy into the game, as well as a new highscores, where you'll have a chance to start from scratch and be the first to obtain the rarest items and reach the top of the leaderboards. We've included all of the specifics below. The game mode will be released at approximately 12pm EST / 4pm Server time, this Friday (7th of June, 2019).

We're also announcing another $1,500 USD PvP tournament, which will come out along with Realism mode! We're looking forward to hosting this competition and seeing how players progress throughout the week, as they grind to get their levels up and obtain the best gear for the tournament.

Realism mode details:

  • 2x XP rate
  • Trading only allowed between Realism mode players
  • Unique armour
  • Unique realism-only sword with slightly higher bonuses than an Abyssal whip.
    • This will be released after the tournament.
  • XP boost restrictions:
    • Vote books cannot be stacked.
    • Vote books can only be used once every 12 hours.
    • Booster scrolls can only be used once every 3 hours.
  • Other restrictions:
    • Bloody keys and Wilderness supply chests will be initially unavailable to Realism players, and will be polled after the tournament.

$1,500 PvP Tournament:

  • The tournament will run from Friday, the 7th of June at 12pm EST / 4pm Server time, and run until the 16th of June (Sunday), lasting a total of 9 days. The exact time of the tournament on the 16th will be announced in the near future, along with registration to confirm that you will be attending the tournament.
  • Only Realism players can participate in this tournament, and those who participate will be entered into a tournament bracket where they will fight their way through the ranks.
    • At the end of the tournament, the top 3 players will be rewarded.
  • Rewards:
    • 1st. $1,000 USD
    • 2nd. $300 USD
    • 3rd. $200 USD
  • Payment methods:
    • Winners can choose to be paid through PayPal or Alora tokens/bonds, with those choosing tokens receiving 50% more in tokens.

Other details:

  • Bonus experience (50%) will be provided upon release, and through to the end of Saturday (7th to the end of the 8th) on the first weekend.
  • Donator ranks cannot be transferred to Realism accounts until the tournament has concluded.

We hope to see all of you participating in the tournament and the new game mode! Good luck to those of you who do participate in the tourney :)

Best regards,
Omicron & Alora Staff Team

#288080 Time to move on!

Posted by Sheep on 15 April 2019 - 05:54 AM

Hello everyone,

This day was gonna come, always struggled to quit Alora since it was a pretty big part of my life but right now I’m quite busy IRL, got a new contract at my job, school will start again in a few months and other stuff around it like spending time with gf and family and other responsibilities.

It’s been around 2 years and 5 months here on Alora, which I’ve been staff for 2 years and 4 months, I feel like still playing / being staff here holds me back IRL and I’m finally comfortable of leaving Alora, knowing that I have made some awesome accomplishments and made some great friends and also friends that will stick around long after Alora.

It was a pleasure to work here, learned a lot in these years which will help me IRL as well, I want to specially thank @Omicron and @Lowkey, the only 2 people who are still here from when I started.

The team is looking great, better than ever before and I’m sure they’ll do great things, and make Alora even better of what it is today.

This doesn’t mean I’ll completely leave but will still play rarely and still check Discord. It’s more a decision to not get stressed out since a lot is going on right now.

Love all of you, best of luck with whatever you’re all up to.

Much love,

Sheep.
