nK XazR's Road to Comp

02 December 2018 - 03:14 PM

I'm starting this thread a bit late unfortunately, because when I first tried to post it, it didn't submit so I decided to just keep working instead of posting.

When I set out to do comp monkey I was trying to do it as fast as possible. To do so I had to plan the most efficient way to get 1b total xp, and 3 x 200M skills, as I'd already been very close to maxing, so it wasn't much of a concern.

List of Tasks

Spoiler

My first skill to hit 200M was Prayer.

This was completed on 11/26. My method of choice was at first doing Dragon bones at PoH Altar. When I eclipsed 100M prayer XP I'd grown tired of how slow Dbones were, so I looked to daggannoth bones and superior dragon bones. I decided as well to switch from PoH Altar to the wildy Chaos Altar at 135M XP. I realize looking back on it the wildy altar was considerably faster, and cheaper due to getting more xp drops per inventory, along with being able to unnote bones at the altar.

Halfway through prayer I decided to knock out the music cape.

My second skill to hit 200M was Cooking.

This was completed on 11/29. My method was making wine from 13M XP until 200M XP. All said and done it took about 2 days.

My third skill to hit 200M was Fletching.

This was achieved on Dec, 2nd. For this entire process from 13M XP until 200M XP I did Rune darts. Overall, it was pretty easy and fast, the biggest drawback was the strain on my wrist fletching 200k+ rune darts.

Before I completed Fletching to give myself a break I attempted The Inferno.

In total I attempted The Inferno 5 times, making it to Zuk 4 times, and killing him on the 4th time meeting him. It was a pretty nice challenge all things considered, it definitely reminded me of my first time trying the Fight Cave, only a bit more intense.

As it stands I have 32/54 achievements completed.

I'm hoping to take care of these achievements by the end of this week.

Twisted Bow Attack Range

01 December 2018 - 12:12 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Fix the Twisted Bow attack range. Currently it attacks at 5-6 tiles depending on your attack style, rapid or long range. This is incorrect compared to how OSRS has it, and I would like to see it fixed.

What do you mean?:

As it stands the twisted bow has an attack range of 5-6 tiles depending on the style you're using. This is wrong for a few reasons. #1 the Tbow is supposed to have an attack range of 10 tiles.

You'll notice in the last half of the sentence, long range is not supposed to affect the Twisted Bow's attack range at all, and only really used for training defence.

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes, proof is in the picture above of OSRS Wiki.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

To my knowledge, no.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Alora strives to be as close to OSRS as possible on most things. This is an example of something relatively minor, but still important that can be fixed to bring us that one step closer to OSRS.

Proof:
I've used magic in this video to demonstrate the differences in attack ranges, as all combat magic on OSRS has a maximum attack range of 10 tiles, just as the Twisted Bow is supposed to. You can clearly see when I switch to the tbow, I run multiple tiles forward, and am not able to come anywhere near the range of magic.

NOTE: It does appear that I'm attacking over 10 tiles with magic in this clip, I haven't done enough testing or counting of tiles to verify that, that could be a bug as well. I'll be doing some more testing on magic / other items attack ranges to figure this out.

LMS Announcement

27 November 2018 - 07:27 PM

What is your suggestion?:

A global (In chat) notification for the winner of LMS and how much their prize was.

Is this in OSRS?: N/A

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?:

This could draw more players to LMS, along with just being cool seeing your name if you win / the names of whoever did win.

Freemode LMS

27 November 2018 - 11:19 AM

What is your suggestion?: Free to play LMS

My idea is to have a free to play LMS mode that runs along side the 1m entry LMS mode.

Is this in OSRS?: No, but neither is normal LMS

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Well, the LMS minigame looks very very exciting, and I will be playing it a lot I'm sure, however 1m per game is not a significant fee to me. For a sizeable portion of the playerbase however, 1m per entry could be a significant portion of their bank. I don't feel they should be deprived of the minigame. However, I understand a large portion of the playerbase won't play LMS if there is no prize pot. This is why I suggest that we have two game modes running side-by-side, a prize-pool LMS, and a no-prize LMS, for the players without the funds to play LMS along with the players looking to practice before the prize pool LMS.

EDIT: Additionally, in the future this could be a cool way to have "tiers" of LMS, 1m entry, 10m entry, 100m entry, ETC.
