Native Android RuneLite Client

REiSWAv.jpeg

What is your suggestion?
Adding an optional, standalone Android APK built on RuneLite for mobile power users, utilizing the open-source repository zeruth/runelite-android.

This would not replace, alter, or impact our existing mobile client or iOS setup. It would simply exist as an opt-in download for Android players.

Is this in OSRS?
Yes. RuneLite is the primary client used by the majority of the OSRS community (and officially supported within the Jagex Launcher), and this open-source Android port was built specifically to run that exact desktop client framework on mobile hardware.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?
No.

How would this benefit Alora?
  • Desktop Parity on Mobile: Gives Android power users access to full RuneLite plugin functionality, custom touchscreen overlays, and native GPU performance for high-level PVM and skilling.
  • Zero Risk to Current Setup: Keeps the main WebGL mobile web app 100% intact for iOS players and casual browser play.
  • Developer / Integration Support: The creator (Zeruth, original founder of OpenOSRS) explicitly noted in the source release that he is open to helping RSPS dev teams implement this framework into RuneLite-based clients for a fee. (Note: If staff or developers want his Discord tag to inquire, PM me directly on the forums so I don't break advertising rules in the thread).
As a personal note: I would be more than willing to assist with donating a bit to offset the implementation fee if Omicron/management were open to it, and in all likelihood, some of the other mobile power users here would be too.
