Hello everyone,

We are thrilled to be able to share with you what we've been working on for the past month, and are proud to announce that we've made significant progress and will be able to release some exciting new content on Alora very soon. Of course, we're talking about the brand new raid: Tombs of Amascut! ToA will be the most intricate raid on Alora yet, with unique challenges, bosses and puzzles that you certainly have not encountered before. It goes without saying, but although Alora's 3rd raid comes with its challenges, it will not disappoint when it comes to the prizes that are available to those who are skilled enough to survive the numerous challenges.

We're putting the finishing touches on the raid and will soon begin testing, so although we don't have a specific ETA just yet, we are aiming to release in the very near future if testing goes smoothly. You can find some more information on the raid mechanics below:

  • Overview:
    • Tombs of Amascut is Alora's third raid which will take place in the Kharidian Desert, within the Jaltevas Pyramid at the necropolis. Despite the name of the raid, the tomb is in actuality that of the Pharaoh Osmumten, where players must help him drive Amascut away from his tomb by freeing the lesser gods of the Menaphite Pantheon from her control and stopping her from acquiring the divine weapons found within that would allow her to ascend to godhood.
    • The raid can be reached via the Teleport Wizard, by using the Mini-games subsection.
  • General:
    • The Tombs of Amascut comprise four paths, each one themed after one of Tumeken's avatars: Apmeken, Crondis, Scabaras, and Het. Each path consists of a challenge section followed by a boss. These can be taken on in any order the player(s) choose to do so, however, as each path is completed the raid will change in various ways, making overall path choice matter.
    • Once all four paths are completed, the lower level where the final boss fight takes place becomes accessible, which consists of two twin bosses. Only after they are defeated can players claim their rewards.
  • Invocations & Raid Level:
    • The Tombs of Amascut makes use of the invocation system, which allows players to customise the difficulty of the raid by choosing to enable various invocations, setting a Raid Level which adjusts the stats of NPCs within the raid; for every 5 raid levels, an NPC's hitpoints, defence, accuracy, and damage are increased by 2% additively, with damage capping out at +150%.
      • For example, a raid level of 100 will modify these stats for all enemies within the raid by +40%, whereas a raid level of 500 will modify enemy hitpoints, defence, and accuracy by +200%, and damage by +150%.
    • Apart from making the raid harder, a higher raid level increases the player's overall drops and the chances for unique items to be rolled, which are shown in the raid party's invocation tab within the raid party interface, accessed via the Grouping Obelisk where players can form raid parties.
  • Rewards:
    • Upon defeating the Wardens, the party will be able to access the treasure room and receive their reward for helping Osmumten defeat Amascut's thralls:
      • Masori armor
        • Masori armour is a set of ranged armour requiring level 80 Ranged and 30 Defence to equip.
        • It is the best ranged armour in the game, surpassing Armadyl armour in terms of ranged attack bonuses. It also provides the highest magic defence bonus, and unlike Armadyl armour, it does not provide a penalty to melee accuracy. The Masori armour can also be upgraded into a fortified variant with Armadyl plates, increasing the Defence level required to equip it to 80, offering increased defensive bonuses and a +1 prayer bonus. Fortifying the armour requires level 90 Crafting, which cannot be boosted.
      • Lightbearer ring
        • Having no requirements to wear, the ring regenerates the player's special attack energy twice as fast at 15 seconds per 10%, or 150 seconds per 100%.
        • Equipping or unequipping the ring will cause the special attack energy restoration timer to reset.
      • Osmumten's fang
        • A one-handed stab weapon which requires level 82 Attack to wield, and is able to deal full damage to the Corporeal Beast.
        • The fang has two unique passive effects which aim to make it effective against targets with high Defence levels and consistent overall.
          • The first effect causes the weapon to re-roll the accuracy check should the first check fail. Failing the second accuracy check will result in a missed attack.
          • The second effect involves using a different formula to determine damage rolls; unlike other weapons that roll between zero and the maximum hit of the player upon a successful hit, the fang will instead always deal between 15% and 85% of the maximum hit upon a successful hit, except when making use of the weapon's special attack. For example, if the fang's true max hit was 60, it would roll between 9 and 51 instead of 0 and 60 (inclusive) damage upon a successful hit. While this effect does not increase the expected damage per second, it does have the effect of lowering the overall variance of the damage output.
      • Elidinis' ward
        • Elidinis' ward is a magical shield requiring 80 Magic, Defence, and Prayer to equip.
        • The ward can be fortified by attaching an arcane sigil to the ward, creating a fortified variant; doing so requires level 90 Prayer, 90 Smithing, and 10,000 soul runes, granting 260 experience in both skills in the process.
      • Tumeken's shadow
        • Tumeken's Shadow is a two-handed powered staff requiring 85 Magic to wield.
        • The staff has a built-in magic spell that can be used regardless of the player's current spellbook. The spell gives no base experience, and grants the player 2 Magic experience per damage dealt. The staff cannot be used to autocast any other combat spells.
        • In addition, Tumeken's Shadow has a passive effect exclusive to its built-in spell in which the player's magic attack bonus and magic damage are multiplied by three from the player's worn equipment (four within the Tombs of Amascut); the magic damage increase from this is capped at a total of 100% Magic Strength. The passive effect is extremely powerful at all bosses, even those with high Magic levels and/or defence bonuses.
        • The spell cannot be used against other players in the Wilderness. The only way that the spell can be used against other players is during the Castle Wars, Soul Wars and TzHaar Fight Pit minigames, as well as the Clan Wars minigame if the clan leaders enable it, but the staff will not have its passive effect of triple boosts from worn equipment enabled.
      • Tumeken's guardian (pet)
        • The Tombs of Amascut pet, a smaller version of Tumeken's Warden.
        • Players can, by default, right click "Metamorphosis" to change between Tumeken's Guardian and Elidinis' Guardian, a smaller version of Elidinis' Warden.
        • Players can unlock further metamorphoses by acquiring various items, which are acquired from the reward chest after completing a raid whilst satisfying the following conditions; note that only one remnant can be obtained by the player per raid.
          • Raid Level at 450+ Zero deaths for all party members
          • All invocations for the specific boss enabled
          • Path level must be at level 4+ (excluding the Wardens)
      • Thread of elidinis
        • Players with 75 Crafting can use the thread on a rune pouch with a needle in their inventory to create a divine rune pouch, which can store four types of runes instead of three.
      • (3) Jewels to enhance the Keris partisan
