If you've played Runescape as long as I have, you've definitely seen this official artwork for Runescape over the years.

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck is even happening in this artwork...

What are they doing?

Since when are dice used?
Pet dragons on leashes????

Someone please explain.... 

I know they're named Tim and Crunchy and were used to select high or low detail back in the day during browser play but aside from that.... what is their significance?

Not going to lie, my favorite part of this is the fact that the guy’s armor on the right doesn’t protect his knee caps. Seems like a big miss from an armor smith.

That guidebook from Scholastic was absolute fire though.

The artwork was specifically for a Runescape guide book published by Scholastic. It was probably outsourced by someone who knew nothing about the game lol.

 

I still have my book that I bought at the school book fair in 4th grade XD
