So you just started on Alora and you're broke. Don't worry, we've all been there. This guide walks you through the best money-making methods on Alora right now, from zero-requirement starter cash to late-game bossing profits. Pick the method that fits your stats and work your way up.
Quick note: Prices on Alora shift over time, so always price-check items on the Trading Post (inside Edgeville bank) before you buy or sell. Methods below are ordered roughly by requirement level.
Before You Start: Free Money Basics
- Set up 2FA with ;;2fa. It protects your account AND gives you bonus XP when you open vote books.
- Learn your way around the Trading Post in Edgeville bank. Almost everything you earn will be sold there.
- Type ::train to AFK at sand crabs if you need base combat stats before anything else.
1. Voting - the best free money in the game
Type ::vote every 12 hours and claim your vote book (claim it at the vote booth in Edgeville bank with ::auth). Vote books sell to other players on the Trading Post for big money (around 5M each at the time of writing), making this the single best early-game money maker. It costs you nothing but 30 seconds twice a day. Opening vote books also grants vote points you can spend in the vote shop south of ::home.
2. Thieving stalls
Type ::thieve and steal from the stalls in the room just north of Edgeville bank, then sell your loot to Ali Morrisane who walks around that same room. Stall loot sells for 2,550 to 10,000 coins per item depending on the stall, and at level 90 you unlock the crushed gem stall which is one of the best skilling money makers in the game (around 8-10M/hour). This is the classic Alora starter method for a reason: zero requirements, instant cash.
Early-Mid Game: Slayer & Skilling
3. Slayer
Grab a Slayer task from any Slayer master and loot EVERYTHING:
- Caskets - open them for straight cash.
- Ensouled heads - sell them back to the Slayer master for easy money.
4. Skilling profits
Not every skill makes money, but the right ones do:
- Fishing + Cooking: Dark crabs and anglerfish are always in demand as food.
- Hunter: Chinchompas sell well to players training Ranged.
- Crafting: Fletching javelins is a classic profit method.
- Herblore: High-level potions always have buyers.
- Farming: Grow high-level potion ingredients and sell the herbs.
5. Rune bars and darts
With 85 Mining, 89 Smithing and 81 Fletching, mine runite ore (north-west of the Lair of Tarn Razorlor maze, or ::dz for donators), smelt rune bars and fletch them into rune darts. Bars sell for around 20-25k each and darts for 2.5-3k each, working out to roughly 20-30M/hour. One of the best skilling money makers in the game if you have the levels.
6. Bossing
PvM is where the real money lives on Alora, and boss instances mean you never compete for kills:
- Zulrah - the classic starter boss. Drops crystal seeds, tanzanite fangs and magma mutagens worth millions each.
- Demonic gorillas - zenyte shards and consistent valuable drops.
- God Wars Dungeon - Bandos, Armadyl and other GWD sets and godswords are worth tens of millions.
7. Wilderness emblems
The entire Wilderness is PvP. Killing players can upgrade the mysterious emblem you carry, and emblems are traded to the Emblem trader south of ::thieve for valuable rewards. Wilderness Slayer tasks from Krystilia can also drop Larran's keys for extra loot. High risk, high reward - don't bring what you can't afford to lose.
Money-Making Tips
- Price-check everything. Search the Trading Post before selling a drop - new players throw away millions not knowing what things are worth.
- Sell, don't hoard. Supplies and drops sitting in your bank earn nothing. Convert to cash and reinvest in better gear.
- Vote every 12 hours. Even at endgame, free vote books are free money.
- Combine methods. Slayer while working toward bossing gear, thieving while waiting for farm runs - stack your income.
- Never RWT. Buying or selling Alora gold/items for real money or crypto is strictly prohibited and will get you banned.
What's the fastest money for a brand new account?
Voting (::vote) plus thieving stalls (::thieve). You'll have your first millions within days with zero requirements.
Should I open vote books or sell them?
If you need cash urgently, sell them. If you're training non-combat skills, the bonus XP from opening them (with 2FA enabled) is extremely valuable.
