What is it:
The Battleship Bingo combines the usual OSRS grid-style bingo and the classic board game "Battleship". The ultimate goal is to locate and destroy all enemy ships by completing tiles on the board in order to win.
The event can be broken down into three separate phases:
Pre-planning and strategizing
Scouting
Attacking
1. Pre-planning and strategizing
After the two teams are formed and before the event starts, we have a period of 24 hours where teams can strategize. Most of this time can be spent on planning optimal ship placement but also on some offensive strategy discussion.
2. Scouting
As the event starts and both boards are empty, scouting is the natural first step in order to find the opponent's ships. In short, scouting means completing easy tiles in hopes of finding opponent ships. You want to do this because you would not want to spend time completing a very difficult tile like "Get the Draconic Visage as a drop" without knowing a ship is placed there.
3. Attacking
When a team has a good idea of where some ships are located, they can start to focus on attacking them. For example, team's low-level players can still focus on scouting whilst the lategame/endgame players can focus on completing the hard/long tiles that were scouted.
Duration of the event:
The event will begin on the 23rd of October 8PM server time and end on the 1st of November 8PM server time.
How does it work:
There will be two big teams against each other. These teams will be picked by a team captain(s).
The board is 10x10 grid and the board layout is the same both teams. This means that a specific item or challenge will always be on the same tile no matter what board you are looking at. A tile contains either an item to be obtained e.g. a drop or a challenge. Tiles have different difficulties roughly based on EHP (Efficient Hours Played). This is to help balance the ships and make it more of a "fair" playthrough.
Each team gets to place 7 different Ships on their board which covers a total of 30 tiles. A ship is not visible to the other team until they hit every tile within it. The shapes and lenghts of the ships, special bonuses as well as all the other details and rules are given in the Event Discord.
Reward pool:
Event MVP - 1500m
1st team - 3B GP
2nd team - 1B GP
Top 3 players of each team (exluding event MVP) - 500M GP each
MVP and top players are calculated based on how many tiles they have done (number of drops) and how many EHP they have from those tiles. This ensures that you will be rewarded for going for harder tiles.
How to sign up:
We will make teams based on account progression and donator rank to ensure that every team has a fair chance of winning. ICE members with the rank Recruit+ may enter.
