     I've recently accompanied my free time on alora with gambling. As you know there are set rules for black jack and 55x2. I feel as a host, said host should be able to make his/her own rules to said game, whether this be black jack or 55x2. For example, for 55x2, to increase my odds as a host, I might make the game a 60x2 instead of a 55x2. So in blackjack, I should be able to make my own rules aswell.

     As long as the host and the better come to an agreement that the said host rules are okay, and they both confirm the rules, this should be allowed. For example, Host : "100rr // Tie host wins confirm?", Better : "confirm(yes, ok, that's fine)"

In this situation there is no confusion with the rules and rules are stated clearly and agreed upon by both parties. Now let's say the better doesn't agree with said rules, then they don't have to use that certain host, they can find another host that they can agree upon rules with.

     -Thanks

Disagree.

Playing a game that is 55x2, 60x2, 62x2, 75x3, whatever it may be, thats fine. because the better is seeing exactly how small the odds are of them winning really is. BUT!

Blackjack, is Blackjack, is Blackjack.... There is absolutely no reason to add any rules to black jack... Hosts have a huge advantage in BJ already. Adding rules makes no sense to me. THATS COMING FROM A FELLOW HOST.

Hosts should be able to decide their "XX"x2 game, but BlackJack needs to stay blackjack...

I will be posting a long in-depth thread here soon about gambling as a whole. keep a look out.

Though it make increase the chances of the host winning, like I said, said better doesn't have to bet on that host, they can go to a different host if they don't like the "house rules" for say.

I agree, If your hosting the game you can make whatever rules you want. Its up to them to play or not. In my experiece other hosts cry more about it then the actual players.

While gambling is the easiest way to make money, I think the rules should be universal (both internally and externally with regard to Alora). If BlackJack is a certain way on most other servers, the rules should carry over to Alora as should the 55x2.

Standards keep everything in line and I can assure you that they would make the staff's job a lot easier.

I agree.  If the consumer and host agree to a set rules, than they should be allowed to gamble whatever they want.  As long as complaints are on video and indisputable that they agreed upon the rule then there shouldn't be an issue when a complaint is filed.  Not sure why this is under suggestions or an actual server rule.  People that gamble shouldn't be protected unless video evidence of a scam on the agreed upon rules.

How about we just make an npc that you can stake shit against?

using System;

namespace Gamble_Example
{
    class Gamble
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            int _money = 100;
            while (true)
            {
                Console.Clear();
                if (_money < 1)
                {
                    Console.WriteLine("You're out of money. Game over, man. Game over!");
                    Console.ReadKey();
                    Environment.Exit(0);
                }
                else
                {
                    Console.WriteLine("You have ${0}", _money);
                    Console.Write("How much would you like to bet?  ");
                    int _bet = Convert.ToInt32(Console.ReadLine());
                    if (_bet > _money)
                    {
                        Console.WriteLine("You don't have that much to bet with!");
                        Console.ReadKey();
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        _money = _money - _bet;
                        Random _rand = new Random();
                        if (_rand.Next(100) > 55)
                        {
                            _money = _money + _bet * 2;
                            Console.WriteLine("You won! Congrats!");
                            Console.WriteLine("You now have ${0}", _money);
                        }
                        else
                        {
                            Console.WriteLine("Too bad, you lost.");
                        }
                        Console.WriteLine("Press any key to play again..");
                        Console.ReadKey();
                    }
                }
            }
        }
    }
}

Seems a lot more sensible than having to put rule after rule after rule and just piling it on top of staff members who can barely keep track of the rules we have to begin with.
