Hey everyone,

Repost of the topic that @ Lowkey made a while back. Seeing quite a bit of you are new here, but still use passwords you used from older communities. So here's a fair piece of warning:

Recently some players have reported losing their items due to someone else knowing their passwords, in other words getting hacked. This is likely due to those players reusing passwords between different games and communities. Many of those other communities have been leaked in the past making it easier for hackers to get a hold of your information. We encourage you to activate 2FA so you have the highest level of protection on your account. If your account is hacked there will be nothing we can do as we have offered you security for your account.

(You can change your password via forum)

Regards,

The Alora Administration Team

Here is a guide on how to activate 2FA;

http://www.alora.io/...tication-guide/

By having 2FA enabled it will prevent you from getting hacked and it only takes 5minutes to activate it.

Always use a different password on Alora than you do on other RSPS because databases get leaked all the time and by using a password that you specifically only use for Alora there will be a lower chance for you to ever get hacked, especially if you use 2FA - (Almost impossible for you to get hacked).

The sad thing is it isn't even a "around these parts" kind of thing. You see it pretty much everywhere, people don't want to remember a plethora of passwords or don't want to spend an extra 5 minutes making sure their account is secure through 2FA. It's aggravating because the steps people need to take to be secure are so simple, it hardly takes up any extra time.

Thank you for publicly announcing this. 2FA is a must for most of everything nowadays. It's believed to be one of the most secure ways to protect your account(s). I would advise every player to change their password and set up 2FA. Also phishing cases reports have increased over the years. My tips to not get hacked, they're very simple and easy to understand: Do not click links from random user(s)/friend(s), don't download keygens or .exe's for any reason as long as you have strong evidence backing the program that it's safe, and use a VPN of some sort. Make sure you go through your computer's processes and Google some process that look fishy. Stay safe ;)
