Introduction

Slayer is one of the more challenging skills in Alora and one of the slowest; however, it is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable (to some) skill over time. Be patient when training slayer. The experience may be slow but it is valuable in the end. The slayer masters will send you all over Alora to slay monsters and the drops and slayer points could very well make you bank. So I hope this guide will help guide you through the intricacies of slayer. If there are any missing tasks or information, feel free to let me know.

 

 

 

How to begin slayer

There is only one slayer master who assigns three different tasks: easy, hard, and extreme tasks. The higher level slayer you get, the the more monsters you will be able to slay and be assigned. The Slayer Master can be found in front of Edgeville’s General Store. 

 

 

 

Slayer Tasks

There are three different slayer tasks you can get: Easy, Hard, and Extreme tasks. The most important ones here are Hard and Extreme Tasks. Extreme tasks are boss tasks that are much more difficult than your average slayer monster. Hard tasks are higher leveled monsters which can be defeated fairly easily with prayer. Easy tasks are extremely fast and are simply a stepping stone for the other tasks.

Slayer Tips

One of the best things you can unlock through slayer or through the trading post is a cannon. The cannon should be used at all nonaggressive tasks to make the monsters aggro you as well as all single combat monsters to do extra damage. It’s up to you if you want to do it at multicombat mobs, but it spends a lot of cannonballs and I find that to be extremely costly and inefficient. Bringing nature runes and fire runes on your slaying grinds makes you a LOT of money over time as well as some nice magic experience. Always pick up rune drops and any other alchables, they add up over time.Picking clue scrolls are up to you. It’s very rare to get anything good from them but they don’t take too long. I understand if it’s frustrating for some so I’m not going to dictate your decision. Don’t hesitate to skip tasks you do not like. Slayer points are extremely easy to get and skipping some tasks you don’t like can be better in the long run. Especially true for donators. Try to get the Slayer Helm ASAP. Absolute best item in slot for all slayer tasks. The 15% boost you receive is completely worth grinding it out. You can obtain the mask by combining a black mask, from Cave Horrors or Trading Post, and a spiny helm from the slayer master’s store. 

 

 

 

Caskets

A common drop from slayer tasks as well as bosses are caskets. These come in three tiers. The first tier grants between 50 and 100k, the second tier grants between 75 and 110k and the third tier grants between 100 and 125k. The first tier requires a monster to have between 1-50 combat, the second requires 51 and 150, and the third is anything exceeding that. These are quite common on your tasks and make slayer worthwhile in the end.

 

 

 

Ensouled Heads 

Another of the common drops that add up over time and make slayer worthwhile are ensouled heads. There are currently 18 of these heads ingame and can be traded in with the slayer master for cash. Each one has a different value but you can get multiple of them off only one task. The values are as follow:

Donator Benefits

With being a donator comes special and cool bonuses when it comes to slayer. If you are really serious about slaying past 99, it's highly advisable to become a donator to reap these cool benefits.

 

All donators+ can skip tasks for only 15 points. All Super Donators+ can skip tasks absolutely free. This function is extremely useful when there's a monster you really want to fight or you just don't like the task that the master has given you.

 

All donators+ will receive double the amount of money you get from caskets. Caskets already make a lot of money so getting more money from them is especially useful.

 

 

 

 

Slayer Rewards

Apart from the drops from the monsters and bosses, you will be rewarded for slaying your assigned monster with Slayer Points. You can spend these points at the Slayer Master’s shop.

Attack Styles

Jad uses all three attack styles (Melee, Ranged and Magic). However Jad will be unable to use his Melee attack style if you keep your distance and stay out of his auto attack range. The most effective way to kill this boss is to use range, ensuring that you continue to switch your prayers so you don't take damage from him.

 

Ranged Attack

TzTok-Jad rears up on his hind legs, then slams down his front legs onto the ground causing a boulder to fall on the player (in which it is not possible to evade this boulder by running).

 

Magic Attack

Room Description

There are 3 Lizardman Shamans in this room. Kill them one at a time. These monsters have the ability to poison you therefore it's recommended to bring antipoison with you or drink one prior to entering the minigame. Try position yourself so only one Shaman can attack you at any given time, perhaps near a wall or the entrance of the room. Run away from the purple mini-shamans to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

Room Description

Upon entering this room it's important to use the Protect from Magic prayer, failure to do this will result in you losing 50+ hp as the first attack from this NPC deals a great amount of damage. After this initial attack you can use the Protect from Ranged prayer for the remaining fight. At some point Vasa Nistirio will stand beside a crystal, where she will become invulnerable and heal slowly until the crystal(s) is killed.

Room Description

There are 3 vanguards in this room. 1 Mage (weak to range), 1 ranged (weak to melee), 1 melee (weak to magic). Upon entering the room all the vanguards will have the same position. Failure to kill a vanguard within a certain time, it will dig under itself and fully heal. In order to overcome this it's important that everyone in the raid attacks the same vanguard. It's recommended to first kill the mage, then the ranged, then the melee.

Room Description

In order to cut the branches that are in this room you or your teammates need to have a woodcutting level of 80. Upon entering the room, pick up an axe, make room in your inventory and proceed to cut the branches. Use the branches to light the braziers, be sure to keep refilling the braziers as failure to do so will lead to the Ice Demon disappearing. Once all braziers are lit and the green bar is around half, the Ice Demon will appear.

Room Description

Room Description

If you have a dragon warhammer or crystal halberd, use the special attacks. Move around Tekton and keep trying to attack him. When Tekton becomes invulnerable you must run back near the exit, else you will take unnecessary damage by meteors. You can continue to attack him once he hammers the anvil and heals a little bit. Tekton will drop some overloads which you can take, this allows you to chug brews if you wish.

Room Description

Muttadile has 2 sections, one small and one big. The small mattadile will head over towards the tree to heal itself. You're able to freeze this npc, meaning it will be unbale to heal itself. The big muttadile will appear upon the small one's death. This npc can hit considerably high therefore you must be cautious.

Room Description

All you need to do in this room is have one teammate cross the rope and pick up the key part. You can then proceed when this key is picked up. Standing next/near the door will result in you not being able to take damage from the magers (whilst waiting for the key to be picked up). You have the option to kill the Magers and Rangers for supplies if you wish.

Room Description

You will always want to attack the left claw whenever given the option. This is as the left claw can go invulnerable and heal itself if you attack at the wrong time. Melee is recommended against the left claw and if you have you should use the dragon warhammer/halbers special attack on it. When a spinning symbol appears above the left claw it means it will heal itself for the damage that it takes. This is when you should switch to the right claw. Only attack the right claw when the left claw is unavailable. It's recommended to use ranged against this claw and it has no way to protect itself.
