I am just going to make a suggestion about the strike system on alora.

What is your suggestion?: Strikes removed overtime on good behavior

Is this in OSRS?: not sure

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: no

How would this benefit Alora?: Please read below for in-depth explanation.

The strike system on alora is a very good thing so that repeat offenders get harder punishments over time. My only issue with that is my first mute was months and months ago. I have received a mute two weeks ago which is 48 hours, reason for it being 48 hours is due to the fact I was muted for the first time all those months ago, Can you see how that seems unfair?

I feel like there should be a limit of time where a strike should disappear. There could be a day where someone online who has never broken a rule before breaks one because they are having a rough day then say they get another one 2 months later which the time of the mute duration increases. Now they have been on a clean slate (This is an example) from 2018 to 2020. They end up breaking the rule again and now they receive a 7 day mute. I feel like the strike system could be bettered and be less harsh if people have been on a good note for a long period of time.

An example of this system would be say for instance youtubes strike system. A strike is issued on your account for whatever reason youtube seemed necessary BUT after a month or 3 or whatever the threshold is for a strike to be removed. The strike gets removed and the person is back down to 0 and on a clean slate since they didn't break anymore rules for a long period of time.

I'm not saying this threshold has to be a month or 3, it could be whatever staff/community finds necessary but I do personally believe that strikes being permanent on your account no matter what the duration of time you've been a good boy on the server is damaging in a way.

BTW if you are reading this and don't understand what I'm saying, in rule #1: First offenders will receive a 24-hour mute, followed by a 48-hour mute, increasing to a 7-day mute, a 14-day mute, and finally, a permanent mute

Basically if you started when the server released and obtained a total of 4 total mutes which could be as miniscule as bantering with a friend over yell and a moderator not liking it, if you were to get another mute in the year 2020 (4 years later) you would still get a permanent mute.

TL;DR - The strike system should have a time period in which strikes are removed on good behavior if no more rules get broken.

So I won't say I support nor will I say I don't support this suggestion.  This does make sense and it would be a good implementation because it rewards you for being on good behavior I guess, but I mean you shouldn't be rewarded at the same time if you cause trouble.  The other is this and I'll simply put it as: Don't break the rules in the first place.  I get that this is a game and we like to fuck around and stuff, but when the staff team can be lenient sometimes or not so lenient (myslef for example) I tend to give two-three warnings and some people give two-four for EACH punisment.  So if you're on your let's say 3rd punishment you've recieved a total of let's say 8-9 warnings.  Why should we let you be rewarded with good behavior after that?  That's basically a slap in the face in a way because you're more than likely just going to go and break the rules again and again.

I definitely agree with what you've said. Maybe a system where strikes if you are 3 strikes in only 1 strike gets removed every 3 months or so where you can gradually work on your accounts strikes for good behavior not where all of them get removed. I definitely think over time these should be able to gradually go down. I'm not to sure on the time but I definitely think it could be a good thing for alora in the long run. If people are genuinely bad and break rules they will do it back to back and keep doing it but if its over months and months and they aren't SERIOUS offences such as ddos threats are really bad flame these should be able to be worked on to reduce strikes. I personally have a few strikes and I just recently got one for 7 days for bantering w friend over yell and I got the 7-day punishment, at this point I'm fine with it and I just wont banter w friends over yell but offences like mine or very miniscule offences should have the chance of losing a strike for good behavior over time.

I get that this is a game and we like to fuck around and stuff, but when the staff team can be lenient sometimes or not so lenient (myslef for example) I tend to give two-three warnings and some people give two-four for EACH punishment.  So if you're on your let's say 3rd punishment you've recieved a total of let's say 8-9 warnings.  Why should we let you be rewarded with good behavior after that?  That's basically a slap in the face in a way because you're more than likely just going to go and break the rules again and again.

Once again I do believe context should matter in certain punishments.

Bump, I'm hoping to see more discussion on this topic.

NO SUPPORT on this suggestion. I understand what you say but after some time, enough is enough. If you "collect" three strikes, you had enough chances to proof you're a good one.
