What is your suggestion?

The addition of a few new item and gold sinks.

 

Is this in OSRS?

Death's Coffer and the IRS system are. Trader Sven's shop is not.

How would this benefit Alora?

The server is in dire need of item sinks. The recently introduced Trading Post system has helped to a degree but further intervention is needed to improve the issue. 

 

Lost Item Coffer & Death Storage: 

• Implement a coffer next to the Lost item trader. The coffer would only accept items. Item values would be updated to match the current Trading Post item sink system.

  •  A minimum value to sacrifice an item could be set at 3-5M to prevent low-value goods from being used to fill the coffer.

  • The money in the coffer would be used instead of gold when purchasing items back from the Lost Item Manager, Nightmare, Zulrah, etc.

• Death Storage/Item Retrieval Service could be added to a few other bosses to better match OSRS death mechanics.

    •  Alchemical Hydra, Vorkath, Theatre of Blood - 100K each

    • TOA - 250K

      • The buyback fee at TOA on OSRS is based on the value of your gear but capped at 500K. I've proposed 250K as it is in line with the cost at Nex currently. There's currently no reason to not use the Hardcore Invocation so this adds some risk/reward.

    • The IRS could be similar to Zulrah for TOB and TOA. Deaths would be free under 50 KC but cost the full amount after 50 KC to not hinder people learning new content.

 

 Trader Sven’s Black-Market Goods: 

• Players would sell items to him for credits to spend in his shop. These items would be wiped from the economy.

• There would be a limit on how many of each item can be sold every 12 or 24 hours. (Could reset with daily rewards, etc.)

• The trader would only accept certain items. The list of items accepted, and daily limits could be adjusted each update based on # of items in the game and item prices.

• Credit rewarded per item would be close to the current active trading prices for items. It could have a base value of 1m = 1 credit or something along those lines to base pricing. For example, a Bandos Chestplate could be worth around 20 credits if the current TP value was 20M.

• Prayer scroll, Elder maul, Kodai wand/insignia, Dragon claws, Ancestral pieces, Dinh’s bulwark, DHCB, Twisted buckler, Twisted bow

TOB Uniques

• Avernic defender hilt, Sanguinesti staff, Ghrazi rapier, Justiciar pieces, Scythe of vitur

TOA Uniques

• Lightbearer, Elidinis' ward, Osmumten's fang, Masori pieces, Tumeken's shadow

Slayer Boss Uniques

Potential Rewards:

•  Instance tokens

•  Ancient Tablet

  • A single-use tablet that allows users to select a desired static layout for the Chambers of Xeric. Use the tablet at the entrance of COX, choose the layout you want, you enter the lobby, and the tablet gets consumed.

  • Options for speed, points, etc. could be available.

  • These are considered "perfect scouts" in terms of speed.

  • Use these on the slayer master to allow the player to select a boss slayer task. These tasks would have a boosted max kill count. Up to 50 for bosses like Commander Zilyana, Corporeal Beast, etc.

  • Players would be able to assign no more than 3 for Zuk or Jad slayer tasks.

•  Dark Totems

•  Locator Orb

  • Used to purposely lower HP in PVP/PVM. The orb would go to lost items on death and be reclaimed for a small fee.

  • Locator orb - OSRS Wiki (runescape.wiki)

•  Pet insurance token

  • A token that can be used to insure a pet with Probita instead of spending 10M GP.

•  Avarice Imbuement (Untradeable)

  • This imbuement would give the player the drop boost of red-skulling without having to red skull. Players may opt to bring more risk to the Revenant Caves if they are not skulled for more kills per hour. This in turn increases the potential loot for Pkers.

  • The imbuement would be lost on a PVP death and give the Pker extra GP in the loot pile or key. On PVM death it would go to the Lost item manager to be reclaimed for a small fee.

  • The boost would not stack with the effect of skulling or red-skulling at Revenants.

•  Crystal crown

  • Worth 750M in sunk items.

•  Imbuement Scroll

  • The same scroll offered from the Slayer shop.

• Minigame Booster Scroll

  • Boost points, etc. for various minigames. These would stack with server and/or vote book bonuses.

    • Mahogany homes carpenter pts per contract

    • GOTR pearls per search when pearls are rolled or higher chance to roll pearls

    • Reputation per commission at Giant’s Foundry

    • Tithe Farm points from Tithe Farm

    • +2 Tickets from Castle Wars (Win or loss)

    • Bonus Tempoross Permits

    • Increased chance of unique drops from Battle mages in Mage Arena

•  Crystal Shards

  • These are far harder to come by on Alora than on OSRS with fewer players doing Gauntlet & Zalcano to keep the prices of crystal seeds manageable.

•  Enhanced Crystal Keys

•  Noted supplies

  • Super Combats

  • Bastion Potions

  • Sanfew Serums

  • Anglerfish

  • Karambwan

  • Lava scales/Lava scale shards for extended anti-fires/super anti-fires

  • Adds a gold trim to godsword special attack animations. These are rewards from LMS on OSRS.

support 100%, there is alot of mid tier items that have plummeted in price over time to the point it is no longer worth selling them. I see it helping the economy if there is set value's for items for example - if a blowpipe/ tanz fang is worth 20 points / 20m value and there is a blowpipe on the TP for 12m, it will give players wanting more points an incentive to buy "cheap" items and receive more points per mill = win / win

I support this suggestion.

 

I feel this is a good way of reducing the amount of items accumulated over 6 years of server's existence. This does not mean that every item must be rare, but it will add value to the items obtained.

 

For example: Player grinds zulrah for green log, gets 25 tanz fangs, 31 magic fangs, 16 serps along the way. These items are just a waterdrop in the sea considering he is not the first player in Alora who has grinded out the log. So make it worth the grind, make the items worth something, so you would have an incentive completing the logs and gathering the dupes.

Wicked suggestion, I think the rewards are perfectly balanced, don't offer any game breaking ability and overall would benefit the games economy.

All of the rewards from the black market trader would be a great addition to Alora. Adding tons of new QOL items and many 'fun' or cosmetic items whilst not breaking or interrupting other content in the game I believe this would do really well! SUPPORT

I feel like there's a way for event managers to step in and create a weekly event that would promote item hoarding and price volatility. 

 

 

 

 (I don't know prices, this is an example) 

 

 

 

A new weekday event where you trade an admin a bandos set and if you roll a 95+ on the die you get a cosmetic item and a forum award.

A well-thought out suggestion that also seems very fair. I hope @ Omicron seriously considers putting the time into this, as it's much needed for the overall health of the game and the economy. 

As it stands, the only thing late-game ironmen can do with their dupes is drop them to main and flood the economy with more items. It would be really nice to see some kind of ironman use for dupes other than selling them for money to buy boosters, rank, etc.
