#160904 [Safe] World Boss Event
Posted by
F 8 on 08 February 2018 - 01:23 PMIn other a lot of other MMO's they feature a number of different "world bosses" which spawn in random locations on set or also random times. They are put into the games for casual players to mass up and kill these bosses for a chance to hit big on loot. We already have a similar feature that has some of the same effect but is exclusive to the wilderness and can be hard for players to either get to the boss in time or dont even bother due to risk of getting pked. I think if we added safezone versions towards the same affect would bring a very interesting and interactive global event for players. World Bosses are meant to be hard to kill so high health and high damage.Successful MMO's who already have world bosses:World of WarcraftBlack Desert OnlineGuild Wars 2Archage OnlineEct.Reference from recent OSRS update : http://services.rune...nts?oldschool=1Justiciar Zachariah. One of the last remaining justiciars of Saradomin.Derwen the Ent. An ancient servant of Guthix.Porazdir. Once one of Zamorak’s most trusted generalsNote: Unlike the Mage Arena 2 demons these monsters can be attacked by any forms of damage. The monsters on osrs are the replacements to the demons in Mage Arena 2 quest. However if possible i believe we should keep the old demons and their looks and add these new demons as World Bosses, keeping their orignal damage and attack styles but on a multi combat scale. These demons will spawn once every 3 hours or so at the ;;event location above Grand Exchange. The ;;event location fits perfectly as it retains the safe on death features and provides a wide open arena esque attributions. It should be fairly simple to copy paste the attacks from each boss from the mage arena demons and rotate them to be a multi combat event.List of possible rewards:Note: These are just ideas meant to spark conversation, if you have any ideas of other rewards feel free to comment. Also the boss/bosses arent meant to be a replacement for other bosses but more of a side activity, so less rares is better but good skilling resources can help.Any player who attacks these monsters for atleast 100 damage will recieve "Blessing of the gods" bonus which gives players bonus experience for 30-45 minutes.- Herb's/secondaries 25x/50x/100x- Pure Essence 500-1000- Coal 250-500- Noted Crushed Gems (sell for gp)- Planks (Construction)- Clue Bottles/Nests- Zamorak hilt, Saradomin hilt, Bandos hilt- Staff of Light (new staff similiar to staff of the dead) / Staff of the Dead- Odium/Malediction WardUltra rare: Armadyl Crossbow
#163834 Regarding Recent Downtime
Posted by Omicron on 18 February 2018 - 11:52 AM
Hey guys,
I’d like to sincerely apologize for the lengthy downtime today. An exploit was identified on our website which urgently needed to be fixed, and we took extra time to ensure that we’ve properly patched this exploit for our security and that of all of our users.
It is impossible to have a perfectly secure website in today’s world, and as a result, it is something that most, if not all large websites will have to deal with at one point or another. We have done our best to ensure that this issue is patched, and we’ve increased our security to prevent this from happening again in the future. Your account should not have been affected by this, and neither has the trading post or any other website/game functions.
While your accounts and all personal data are safe, we will be forcing you to change your password every so often (starting today) and will continue do so in the future so that players do not recycle passwords between Alora and other websites. We are currently setting the frequency of password changes to 60 days and will change this if required.
The staff team and I would also like to thank all of you for your patience not only today, but through any road bumps that Alora has had in the past, your support means everything. :)
Regards,
Omicron

#125540 Volta & Casual's In-Depth Construction Guide
Posted by
Volta on 20 October 2017 - 05:29 PMIn this guide I'll be doing my best to show you the process for 1-99 Construction and information to help you in your journey to making the best house on Alora. I'll start with the 1-99 and then move onto misc. information towards the end.
Huge shout-out to @casual for helping with certain areas of the thread, and for doing more than half of our in-depth spreadsheet, and @Chase for supplying all of the graphics in this thread!
Before getting started, remember to enable ;;2fa, so when you get vote books you also get an experience boost which will help a ton when training Construction. A guide for enabling 2FA can be found here;
http://www.alora.io/...tication-guide/
Also, please note that the Chairs/Larders/Tables needed for obtaining a certain level is based off EXP given from Well of Goodwill ONLY, not including Vote Bonuses.
Spoiler- Talk to the Estate Agent, located North-West of Home Teleport to begin your House Adventures.
- He will ask if you'd like to pay 10M GP for a Starter House.
- Once you hit yes and talk to the Estate Agent again, these will be the options that appear (will go over again later);
- Right click on the portal and click "Build Mode Portal" to access your house in Build Mode.
Once you're in, you'll have an empty house. All you need to do is right click on a door hot-spot and select a room to build. Be careful with the rotations of the room because it's a pain to remove and redecorate rooms in the future.
Note; if you choose to delete rooms in the future you will lose ALL of the furniture in that room.
For these parts of the guide, I'll make it color coded. Green = Planks Needed, and Orange = # of said item needed to obtain the desired level.
Spoiler18247 xp needed for level 33.
- Start off with building a Parlour room, which is the first room on the list.
- Once it's made, you'll want to go in and build chairs in only the two closest locations. The best way is to get in the middle, build both chairs, and then take them down and repeat.
Room: ParlourItem to make: Level 1/2/3 Chair (2 Planks/3 Planks/3 Planks).Level 1-91 Level 1 Chair (2 Planks). 2 Planks needed. Grants 4118xp per chair, 6117xp with Vote bonus.Level 9-333 Level 14 Chairs (3 Planks). 9 Planks needed. Grants 5990xp per chair, 8985xp with Vote bonus.Spoiler123660 xp needed for level 52.
- Start with building a Kitchen next. Locate the "Larder" building spot and build Oak Larders until 52.
Room: KitchenItem to make: Oak Larder (8 Oak Planks)4 Oak Larders (8 Oak Planks). 32 Oak Planks needed. Grants 29,952xp per larder, 44,928xp with Vote bonus.Spoiler12,910,771 xp needed for level 99.
- Go a bit further down the list and make a Dining Room. Once you have that, all you need to do until 99 is make Mahogany Tables.
Room: Dining RoomItem to make: Mahogany Tables (6 Mahogany Planks)Make 245 Mahogany Tables (6 Mahogany Planks). 1960 Mahogany Planks needed. Grants 52,416xp, 78,624xp with Vote Bonus.Once you hit level 52, I'd strongly suggest talking to the Estate Agent and hiring a Demon Butler (Requires level 50 and 50K). Keep all of your Mahogany Planks NOTED and GP in your inventory and when you run out of un-noted Mahogany Planks, use the noted ones on the butler and he will bring you more.SpoilerMake 9512 Mahogany Tables. 57,072 Mahogany Planks needed. Grants 19,656xp per table.
That's it for the leveling process. Anything below is just misc. information that will hopefully help you out with your Construction needs. Unfortunately, I won't be providing the EXP of each item made as I don't have that kind of resources, but I'll do my best to include everything else.

Spoiler- You can put your entry portal in a Formal Garden! If you want to do this, just make a random garden somewhere in your house, and make sure to add a portal as the centerpiece. When you have your throwaway room finished, remove the original garden where the portal was, and add a Formal Garden. Once you have it made, just make the portal as the centerpiece there and it's done!
- Whenever an item requires a "Watering Can", it refers to an EMPTY Watering Can and not a Watering Can (8).
- To get empty Watering Cans, the easiest method I have found so far is to go to the Catherby Patches and plant Watermelons/Strawberries in the patches and then water both of the patches and then type ;;clearpatches and repeat until your Watering Cans are empty.
Casual - Helping with EXP rates/1-99 guide/Item spreadsheet.
Algalon - For pinning the thread and being an overall great guy.
uTorrent - Gave me 10M to buy a house/demanded a shout-out.
Postimees - Gave me a vote book to help with EXP rates.
Chase - For making all of the Graphics.
Omicron - For making Construction.
If you have any other questions/concerns regarding Construction or anything about the thread, please feel free to leave a comment or PM me on the Forums/Discord.
Cheers.
