#229122 Donation transfer one time fee

Posted by Dante on 29 October 2018 - 01:55 AM

The main reason that there is a requirement of being an Extreme Donator in order to use your one-time donator status transfer is because majority of players are either regular donator or super donator seeing as the main perks are good enough with those two tiers.

The method we use for donation status transfers is more manual than anything and only a handful of people can actually do it (Staff Members). To combat the large amount of donation status transfers we used to get we changed the requirement to Extreme Donator in order to transfer.

I think your idea is good in the sense that some people would be willing to do it, but I don't think it's completely necessary. Would love to see some other feedback, but just wanted to clarify why donation transfers are handled the way they are currently.

Nice paper. Forgot to mention you changed name yourself + raud flame resigned?

Thank you very much for pointing this out! Both of these things have happened after the last staff update threads that were posted, which is why they were not in this newspaper originally. I generally base staff updates off of the ones that were posted in the staff updates section on the forums.

Since you've pointed it out, I've edited the Newspaper to have those updates as well!

Hello everyone, welcome to the newest edition of the Alora Newspaper!

This month we have a few rule changes, some updates to our staff team

and a few in-game updates!

1HFy851.png
Added/changed:

7. Account Sharing

An account should be used by one person only. There are no cases or circumstances where another person is allowed to play on your account. This goes for all types of accounts whether it is a level 3 scout for the wilderness, a shared account people used to Teleblock other players, or an account you would share with a friend. There is absolutely zero tolerance for account sharing in any way, shape, or form and people will be punished with a Permanent ban for both parties.

  • a. Any attempt to give an account away will not be tolerated on Alora. Offenders will receive a Permanent ban on the account being given away.

Previously:

Account sharing: We've changed our stance to now allow account sharing. We say this firmly with no exceptions; If you are hacked by a friend or anyone that YOU allow onto your account, it is all on you. We hold no responsibility for hacked accounts due to account sharing. This also applies if your account is breaking rules. If you allow someone onto your account and they get your account punished, the punishments will stick.

• a. Buying/Selling (even if free) any type of service for an account is prohibited ex: Inferno cape service. First offenders will receive a 7-day ban with a wipe of the cape and GP used to make this exchange, the second offence will result in a Permanent ban.

   • b. Any attempt to give an account away will not be tolerated on Alora. Offenders will receive a Permanent ban on the account being given away.

Since the last Newspaper there has been one new update that dropped on 9/20/2018

Here is the contents of that update:

  • Patch notes:

    • Theatre of blood passages fixed
    • Blast Furnace updates:
      • All bars can now be smelted in the Blast Furnace (fixes Gold, Steel, Iron)
      • Maximum amount of time you can buy in 1 shot for the Blast Furnace is 5 hours (to avoid people spending their entire cash stack)
    • Ironman/Classic/Elite were unable to see ‘global’ items such as Snape grass spawns following the previous update. This has been fixed.
    • “Stomp” emote would not work in certain areas, giving the “You cannot use this emote in the wilderness” error message. This should no longer occur outside of the wilderness.
    • A warning message will now be given upon login to players using an outdated client. Anyone using a client from August or prior to will not be able to play Alora after October 9th, so we strongly urge you to get the latest client if you see this error message.

    Hello everyone,

Today’s update is slightly delayed as I had to work on our security extensively this month. Now that I feel comfortable with the current state of things in terms of security, we can get back to the frequent updates  :) This update is packed with many QOL updates, as well as some content which many of you will find useful such as the Blast Furnace. We’ve also managed to squeeze in some bug fixes, as well as some other cool things such as the metamorphosis Raids 1 pet and auto-looting coins with the Ring of wealth.

Please note that some of these updates (particularly the bug fixes) may have already been applied in-game, but were not yet included in an update thread.

    • Server:
      • Ladder/Staircase changes:
        • When using a ladder or staircase on Alora, you would previously be delayed 1 tick (0.6s) while you perform the animation.
          • This has been removed, and you will instantly use the staircase or ladder, similar to on OSRS.
      • Crafting guild fixes/changes:
        • The Crafting guild had many weird looking objects such as stalagmites, ice columns, etc that did not belong there. This map has been fixed entirely.
        • With the above fix, the following has changed:
          • More ores (particularly gold ores) can be mined.
          • A staircase to go upstairs to multiple Spinning wheels is now available.
      • Paul right-click trade:
        • We know how much some of you loved navigating through Paul’s dialogue to get to the Ironman shop, but unfortunately we’ve decided to add a right-click “Trade” option to speed things up for the rest of us!
      • Barrows change:
        • The dig radius around mounds has been increased.
      • Music cape emote:
        • The Music cape emote, “Air Guitar” has now been added.
      • Theatre of Blood fixes:
        • Sotetseg’s projectile attacks that disable prayer were disabling it too early — upon performing his animation, not upon the projectile landing on you. This has been fixed.
        • Fixed a problem with prayer icon not turning off (Chivalry)
        • Fixed an issue which blocked you from attacking some of the spiders in the Nylocas wave.
      • Rejuvenation pool update (in POH):
        • Rejuvenation pools can now be used to restore your health, special attack, run energy, prayer and cure poison with only half the usual delay provided that you have not been in PvP combat within the last 3 minutes.
          • This does not apply to the rejuvenation pool at home, but only to the ones location in player-owned-houses.
      • Blast Furnace:
        • The Blast Furnace is now accessible! It can be reached through the Minigames section of the Teleport Wizard’s menu.
          • How does it work?
            • The Blast Furnace allows you to smelt bars while only using half the required amount of coal, while still receiving full experience.
            • Ores are deposited onto the conveyor belt, and then smelted within seconds.
            • You can collect your bars from the dispenser, which may be cooled down with a bucket of water.
              • You can optionally use Ice gloves to collect your bars rather than cooling down the dispenser.
            • There is a bank chest very close to the furnace.
          • Cost:
            • The cost to smelt your bars in the furnace is 480k GP per hour. You can pay this fee to Ordan every hour, or pay him for many hours at once. This is to cover the labor of the 5 dwarves who run the machinery. You may find these dwarves’ names familiar. If your time runs out, you will not be able to deposit any more ores onto the conveyor.
              • You will be notified of your time remaining in the Blast Furnace periodically, and notified when your time runs out.
          • Notes:
            • You can store up to 200 ores in the melting pot.
            • If you logout, any ores or bars within the machinery will be lost.
      • Ice gloves:
        • These gloves, which allow you to collect bars from the Blast Furnace without needing to use a bucket of water, can be purchased from the Loyalty Point store for 50k points.
      • Buckets of water:
        • Buckets of water (used in the Blast furnace) can now be created:
          • Empty buckets can be purchased in the General/Ironman/Classic shops, and can be filled at any water source.
            • There is also a bucket spawn at the Blast furnace.
    • Chambers of Xeric reward update:
      • A new reward has been added to Raids 1: Metamorphic Dust!
        • This item can be used on an existing Raids 1 pet (Olmlet or Vanguard) to give your pet the ability to morph between 6 different Raids pets:
          • Olmlet, Mini Vanguard, Vasa Minirio, Tektiny, Vespina and the Puppadile!
        • Previously, there were only 2 pets that you could get (separately) through the raid, the Olmlet and Vanguard. These pets still function as usual, and are both still rewards from raids. The Vanguard can also be purchased in the donation shop. Note that the Metamorphic dust can be used on either of them to get the same final result (morphing pet).
      • How do I obtain it?
        • The Metamorphic dust can be obtained through the Chambers of Xeric if you’re lucky, with the drop rate being 1/400 as long as you complete the dungeon within average time and points.
          • This roll is completely separate from the usual drop table, so it will not affect your chances of obtaining other loot.
    • Ring of wealth update:
      • The Ring of wealth (and it’s imbued version) can now optionally auto-loot your coins and tokkul from slain enemies! You can toggle this setting by right-clicking either ring and selecting the “Features” option.
      • Miscellaneous bug fixes:
        • Barbarian icons (defender, attack, healer, collector) will now be worn in the glove slot rather than the cape slot, allowing you to wear a cape while having an icon equipped.
        • Justiciar armour requirements fixed (75 defence)
        • Pathfinding bug:
          • Fixed a major bug which allowed players to interact with objects/npcs/etc even though they were not close enough. For example, if you somehow could stop your movement forcefully (being frozen in combat or by other means) you could enter a cave from many steps away.

    • General
      • Further improvements have been made to our protection systems for DDoS attacks. We were hit with some attacks just over a week ago and did experience bouts of lag, but the server never fully crashed which is a great sign, and the attacks were mitigated relatively quickly. We’ve made even more changes to improve our firewall, and we’ll continue monitoring and improving our systems as required.
      • We've also improved our stability and are able to have longer uptime without lag as many of you have likely noticed  :)

    • Store:
      • Pet booster price reduced to 10 tokens from 15 to more accurately reflect its value.

    • Forum:
      • Elitist: Maxed Elite Ironman award

You can read up on the full update HERE!

Many thanks to Omicron for all of these updates and fixes!

I have decided to interview two more people this newspaper, the first being Inferno!

Greetings Inferno.

Dante: Besides being interviewed by me, what is your best memory on Alora?

Inferno: Haha, probably when we started the whole peeks group and decided to be an actual clan in here.

Dante: Besides PKing on Alora, what's your favorite thing to do?

Inferno: Gambling / Dueling I'd say.

Dante: What is your go-to pass time besides playing video games?

Inferno: I play football as a goalkeeper, so thats something I do a lot as well.

Dante: What is your favourite food?

Inferno: Good question, I don't have a particular favourite. ^^

Dante: Who is your favourite member of our community?

Inferno: Honeslty I love all of my clan members and many other people in this server so I can't say that I have favourites.

Dante: How does it feel to be our MOTM?

Inferno: Feels really good, very honoured to get recognition from staff team and Alora community.

Dante: What made you want to start making videos?

Inferno: I wanted to attract more people to the whole PvP scene so we could make it more active than it currently is!

Dante: What is your dream job?

Inferno: Can't say I have a dream job but something I would like to do is to play football on top level or be a bounty hunter.

Dante: Who, or what is your worst enemy?

Inferno: JOSH! Jk I love him as I do all peeks members shoutout to them btw!

Dante: What is the worst thing about being a guy?

Inferno: When you get sweaty balls and they stick to your legs :))))))

Thank you for taking the time to answer those questions Inferno, I really appreciate it!

Next on our list is Smiv!

Dante: How does it feel to be a staff member for Alora?

Smiv: It pretty cool to be chosen to be apart of the staff team. Everyone apart of the group are all helpful and cool to talk with.

Dante: Do you have any ancestral sets I can borrow?

Smiv: Currently borrowing a set if you would like to borrow it..?

Dante: What is your favourite thing about the Alora community?

Smiv: My favorite aspect of the Alora community is the uniqueness. You have people from all different parts of the world. So i think it's cool to hear and learn about what everyone does around their different environments.

Dante: What is your favourite kind of animal?

Smiv: Bald eagle. The national animal for my home country the U S OF A.

Dante: How does it feel to be this month's most-voted HCIM?

Smiv: It feels quite great, though I may have died on said hardcore, everyone still knows i have potential to come back and win again.

Dante: Are you planning on playing another HCIM now that Kazoo is long gone?

Smiv: I took around a week break of the hardcore grind and decided after winning best HCIM i should com back and show the boy's what i can do. I'm now playing on a new hardcore named Died2Torag ... As I was downed by Torag on my previous hardcore..

Dante: What is the most difficult part about being on the staff team?

Smiv: I would say the most difficult part of being on the staff team is competing with the other members to help others. Whether it assisting people with certain things on forums or being in the Alora clan chat assisting players.

Dante: What is your favourite pass-time besides video games?

Smiv: My favorite pass time IRL is playing soccer. I've played soccer all my life and through high school I was chosen all conference / all state mention and continue to play now post high school in a Sunday league.

Dante: What is your dream job?

Smiv: My dream job would is being an Athletic Trainer for a Division 1 collegiate team. Wouldn't matter the sport, but just to be at the collegiate level training and still being around sports is my main goal.

Dante: What is the most interesting and random piece of information you know?

Smiv: I have died to every Barrow's Brother.

Hello everyone, welcome to the newest edition of the Alora Newspaper!

I wanted to apologize for missing the last months paper, I was fairly busy

and didn't have the time to finish it! Anyways, here's our newest newspaper!

1HFy851.png
Added/changed:

17. VPN Voting

Any use of excessively changing your IP-address to vote will not be tolerated whatsoever on Alora.

We strive to maintain an honorable environment. Anything that brings an unfair advantage will not be tolerated (see rule 8).

VPN voting goes against many of the Top-lists terms of service, which can result in the termination of Alora from the Top-lists.

Those who fail to comply with this rule will first receive a 24-hour ban with a vote book wipe*, followed by a 48-hour ban with a vote book wipe* issued to all accounts involved, followed by a permanent ban and finally, an IP-ban.

• a. Manipulating the voting system to obtain excessive amounts of vote books will result in the punishments above.

• Vote book wipe: A vote book wipe consists of any vote books on your account, as well as the approximate wealth gained from the sale of vote books obtained by VPN voting, being wiped.

Keep up to date with our rules & full list can be found by clicking HERE!
XOAznLX.png
Since the last Newspaper there have been 3 new updates, dropped on 07-16-2018, 08-07-2018, and 08-24-2018.

Here is the first update:

The waiting is finally over! The Theatre of Blood is now open for your entertainment. Hop right into it with your most trusted allies in hopes of obtaining epic rewards.

You can participate in the Theatre of Blood by using the mini games menu on the teleport interface, or by speaking to the Mysterious Stranger slightly south of Edgeville near the Lost items manager.

We’ve spent as much time as we could perfecting this Raid, from the exact attacks and mechanics of the bosses, right down the music that plays in each room. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we have putting it together for you! I’d also like to give a huge thank you to all of the beta testers who helped identify bugs before release.

Without further ado…

  • Slayer task changes:
    • Mithril dragons have been moved from Extreme tasks to Hard tasks, where Rune/Adamant dragons are.
    • Cave horrors are now available as Medium a Slayer task! You can be assigned between 40-110 of them.
  • Giant mole fixes:
    • Instance:
      • The Giant mole would often dig it’s way out of the instance, never to be seen again. This has been fixed, and the mole will now always reappear somewhere within your instanced cave.
      • Additionally, the “Time remaining” overlay would sometimes disappear within the instanced mole cave.
    • General:
      • The dig animation will now show up every time (sometimes you would not see it), as well as a new message that tells you that the mole has dug its way out of the fight.
    • Barrage(and other multi spell) PvM fixes:
      • Barrage would only hit other enemies that were within 1 tile of the main target. This does not work well with large enemies, such as the Nylocas from the Theatre of blood. Multi-spells will now hit enemies surrounding the main target based on size.
        • For example, if your target is size 5 and is barraged, any targets within 5 tiles from the central location will be affected. (Creates a much larger radius, allowing you to barrage large NPCs in a stack)
    • Mute timer fix:
      • If you are muted and attempt to yell or speak, you will be told how long is left until your mute is lifted. This timer was incorrect, meaning that even if the mute would be lifted in 5 hours, it would show random numbers (Eg. 24 hours or more). This timer will now be accurate.
    • Raids 1 (Chambers of Xeric) updates:
      • Dragon Thrownaxes are now a much more common drop from Raids. It is too uncommon in-game and should be more accessible for use in PvP. It has been added to the resources table (herbs, essence, etc).
  • Theatre of Blood
    • Requirements:
      • You must have a Total level of at least 1250 to enter the Theatre.
    • The Theatre of Blood is now available to any player who is up for the challenge!
      • The Theatre contains 6 different rooms:
        • The Maiden of Sugadinti
          • The Maiden will primarily target the nearest player with a Magic-based attack, but also shoots out blood spawns every so often at every player in the room. Nylocas Matomenos will also appear at 66.6% and 33.3% health to heal her. If they reach her successfully, they will heal her for however much health they have remaining.
        • Pestilent Bloat
          • The Bloat will walk around while severed arms and legs fall from the ceiling. You must avoid the Bloat as well as the falling objects until the Bloat falls asleep, at which point you can deal damage to it.
        • Nylocas Vasilias
          • Hordes of Nylocas will spawn in rapid succession until Nylocas Vasilias, the largest of them, will drop from the ceiling for a battle more worthy of your time.
        • Sotetseg
          • The dark beast, which has attacks that bounce between players. He will also occasionally drag a player into the Shadow realm, where they must solve a maze which other players must try to follow.
        • Xarpus
          • Xarpus begins weakened; exhumed skeletons appear on the floor to heal him. If you stand on top of them, they will not be able to heal him. Eventually, Xarpus will cover the room with acid attacks, so you’ll need to watch your step. At 25% hitpoints, Xarpus will face a single corner for a few seconds. If you attack from the same corner he is facing, you will be killed quickly. You’ll have to coordinate your attacks to survive this wave.
        • Verzik Vitur
          • The final battle is a challenging one -- it beings with Verzik seated on the throne and protected by a shield that can only be taken down with the Dawnbringer. You must time your attacks, hiding behind the pillars while Verzik launches her attack. Eventually, Verzik will walk down to the centre of the room and attack with all styles.
      • Rewards:
        • Justiciar armour
          • Wearing the full set will apply a damage reduction in PvM. The exact formula for the amount of damage reduced is bonus / 3000, where bonus is the player's defence bonus for that particular style. Stacks with Elysian spirit shield effect.
        • Scythe of Vitur
          • Must be charged with Vials of blood and Blood runes.
          • Has a multi-damaging effect which allows you to attack multiple (up to 3) nearby enemies at once. If it is a larger creature, it can deal up to 3 hits on it.
        • Sanguinesti Staff
          • Must be charged with Blood runes.
          • Similar to the Trident of the Swamp, has a built in attack. Can deal slightly more damage than the Trident, having a base max hit of 34.
        • Avernic hilt (defender)
          • Used to create the Avernic defender when combined with the Dragon defender.
        • Blood vials
          • Used to create Battlemage and Bastion potions
        • … as well as many different supplies!
      • Each room has it’s own unique mechanics which will require you to coordinate with your teammates to properly escape the Theatre alive.

Here is the second update:

  • Revenant weapons:
    • The Revenant drop tables have been updated with brand new weaponry and equipment! All of the Revenants now have a chance to drop the following:
      • Amulet of Avarice
        • This amulet will cause all drops within the Revenant caves to be noted. This includes non-revenant NPCs as well! The caveat is that the amulet will cause you to be skulled at all times. If you choose to un-equip the amulet, your skull will fade after 20 minutes.
      • Craw’s bow
        • This two-handed bow requiring 60 Ranged, when charged with ether, will deal an extra 50% accuracy and damage against any enemy in the Wilderness. It will consume 1 ether per shot, but does not need ammunition (similar to the Crystal bow).
      • Viggora’s chainmace
        • The one-handed Chainmace has similar bonuses to the Dragon scimitar, but offers 50% extra Melee accuracy and damage against any enemy in the Wilderness.
          • Stackable with Slayer helmet / Salve amulet effects.
      • Thammaron’s Sceptre
        • This one-handed sceptre has similar bonuses to the Master wand, but will deal 100% more magic accuracy and 25% more damage to any enemies in the Wilderness.
    • Notes for all weapons:
      • Stackable with Slayer helmet / Salve amulet effects.
        • Will consume 1 ether per attack.
        • Ether charged inside the weapon will be dropped on death.
  • Rare drop announcement update:
    • Rare drop announcements will now show the # of kills / completions where applicable.
      • For example:
        • Old:
          • “Omicron received 1 x Abyssal whip as a drop!”
        • New:
          • “Omicron received 1 x Abyssal whip as a drop! (Kill #33)”
    • This applies to:
      • Rare drops (including boss pets)
      • Raids 1 & 2 loot
      • Inferno completions
  • Raids 1 - Chambers of Xeric:
    • When receiving a rare drop, instead of the announcement saying “Omicron received a Twisted bow as a Raids reward!” it will say “Omicron received a Twisted bow as a Chambers of Xeric reward!”
    • Olm changes:
      • The falling rocks will now deal less damage (max hit of 33 rather than 45)
      • Using Magic against Olm’s Right Claw will now be more accurate.
    • Tekton changes:
      • Tekton’s defence has been reduced overall.
  • Raids 2 - Theatre of Blood:
    • Milestone capes:
      • ToB milestone capes are now available! Speak to Harpert near the Theatre, right next to the Vote booth by the bank. He will award you with capes at the following milestones:
        • Sinhaza shroud tier 1 - 100 completions
        • Sinhaza shroud tier 2 - 500 completions
        • Sinhaza shroud tier 3 - 1,000 completions
        • Sinhaza shroud tier 4 - 1,500 completions
        • Sinhaza shroud tier 5 - 2,000 completions
    • Loot changes:
      • The chance of obtaining rare loot has been slightly boosted for any team of any size.
      • The chance of obtaining rare loot has also been boosted a bit more for solo players, due to the difficulty of completing a solo raid.
      • The following loot will now appear more commonly:
        • Avernic hilt
        • Justiciar armour
      • Any other loot has the same rate as before, aside from the overall loot boost that has been applied.
    • Weapon changes:
      • Considering the Twisted bow has a damage boost within both raids (it is less powerful outside of raids for balance purposes), it only makes sense that the new Theatre of Blood weapons also have a boost within raids (and only within raids!) to balance them against the bow.
        • The Ghrazi Rapier, Scythe of Vitur and Sanguinesti staff have all received slight damage and accuracy boosts within raids (both raids 1 & 2). They have been untouched in terms of accuracy and damage outside of raids, though.
      • Scythe of Vitur fix:
        • Now properly hits nearest 2 other npcs (in a 180 degree arc, with your main target being in the centre at the 90 degree mark).
        • Damage is unchanged as it has the same bonuses, max hit and special function as OSRS.
        • The attack animation for the Scythe has been updated to the same one from OSRS.
        • The graphics (red swipe effect) will now look smoother (100% to OSRS, changes depending on direction you are facing)
    • Other:
      • Miscellaneous performance improvements.
      • Boss HP bar / orb changes: (Will require a client restart/update)
        • HP bar has been shortened slightly.
        • The percentage text on the HP bar of the boss would sometimes glitch and not be in the right position. This has been fixed.
        • Fixed the health orbs for your teammates. They will now show the amount of hitpoints your or your teammates have lost.
  • Discord updates:
    • The discord icon for the server has been updated to look more professional and uniform with Alora’s theme.
    • Discord Rich Presence:
      • Discord will now be able to identify what you are doing on Alora! If you are in a raid, you’ll be able to let everyone know, and they’ll know how long you’ve been raiding for.
        • Activities included:
          • Raids (both Chambers of Xeric and Theatre of Blood)
          • Pest control, Duel arena, Clan Wars, Battle Royale, Barrows, Fight caves and The Inferno (including the wave you are on).
          • Skilling (any skilling activities provided you are not in a raid or mini-game)

If you would like to see this entire update, click HERE!

Here is the third update:

  • Loyalty rewards: Chompy bird hats: (Thanks to @Master Alora for the suggestion!)
    • You can now purchase one of the 3 tiers of Chompy bird hats from the Loyalty point exchange!
      • There are only 3 hats to purchase in the store, but purchasing any one of them will actually give you the entire set of chompy hats in that tier (6 different colors).
      • The cost of each set is not cheap, though, coming in at:
        • 100,000 points for Tier I
        • 200,000 points for Tier II
        • 400,000 points for Tier III
      • These hats are not tradable. If lost on death, you can reclaim them from the Lost items manager for 100k, 200k or 400k gp per hat depending on the tier.
  • Raids 1 changes (Chambers of Xeric):
    • Balancing:
      • Great Olm has been made ~33% less accurate, and it’s max hits on same attacks have been reduced by ~25%.
        • Affected attacks:
          • Crystals beneath feet
          • General head attacks (projectiles)
          • (Rock fall damage was nerfed 25% last update)
      • Tekton’s accuracy and damage have both been nerfed by 25%.
    • Bug fixes:
      • A bug with Vasa Nistirio which caused him to null and the raid to be restarted should now be fixed.
      • A bug which caused Vasa Nistirio to not launch his Rock attacks for awhile if you went through the raid quickly has now been fixed.
      • It was possible for Vasa to use a final attack before dying (while it’s HP was 0). This should no longer occur.
  • Raids 2 changes (Theatre of Blood):
    • Bug fixes:
      • The loot chest would only show 4 items, it will now be able to show up to 6.
      • The loot chest would sometimes show air strike symbols on the interface, this should no longer occur. Additionally, some users have reported crashing after opening the chest and trying to close it, this should also no longer occur.
      • The loot interface is also now more centered on the fixed screen mode.
      • Fixed a bug with the Scythe of Vitur causing it to be able to murder pets (Sorry, little guys).
        • Crafting will also be more specific, rather than just stating “Training Crafting” it will display details such as “Crafting Battlestaves”.
          • Thieving icon was entirely missing and has been added.
          • When training Slayer, it would frequently alternate between “Training Ranged” (or Melee/Mage) and “Training Slayer”. Slayer will now take precedence so that your status doesn’t update every second or two.
  • Barrows reward updates:
    • A previously requested feature, your barrows loot will now appear on an interface upon looting the chest!
    • Additionally, your loot will be added to your inventory if possible, and if not, it will be dropped on the ground.
    • Rather than a maximum of 4 times, you can now receive up to 7 rewards from the barrows chest. (Minimum 3)
    • You can now receive Crystal key halves and/or coins (1-100k) from the chest.
    • Lastly, the value of your chest will be displayed in a red chatbox message (Eg. “Your loot is worth approximately 2M gp!”).
      • This is simply an estimate based on exchange prices and should be taken only as a reference.
  • Revenant changes:
    • Revenants will now drop up to 15 ether, rather than the previous maximum of 10.
    • The minimum combat level required to enter the caves has been reduced from 50 to 40.
  • Slayer update:
    • When being assigned an Extreme Slayer task, you can now choose how many of the monster you’d like to be assigned.
      • The minimum size of the task is 3, and the maximum is 35.
  • Combat/PvP changes:
    • Ranged weapon speeds:
      • The Twisted bow’s “Rapid” mode was the same speed as the regular mode. It will now fire 1 tick faster while on Rapid.
      • The Crystal bow overall (every combat style) was 1 tick too slow and will now fire more quickly.
    • Magic weapon speeds:
      • All magic spells have a delay of 5 ticks (3 seconds between each attack), but certain built-in spells fire more quickly and were not as fast as they should be. The following trident-based weapons will all now fire 1 tick more quickly (2.4 seconds) than regular Magic spells, matching OSRS and making Magic a more viable PvM method:
        • Trident of the Seas (and (e) version)
        • Trident of the Swamp (and (e) version)
        • Dawnbringer
        • Sanguinesti staff
      • Note that the firing speed is *only* faster when using the built-in spells for these staffs, and that the normal spell delay and melee attack delay will apply if the built-in spell is not used!
    • Scythe of Vitur fix:
      • Although the Scythe’s multi-damaging effect only works in Multi-combat zones, the Scythe is supposed to hit larger creatures (Eg. Cerberus) up to 3x, even in non-multi zones. This has been fixed.
    • Barrage gap:
      • The barrage gap has been increased to the correct distance, meaning that your freezes should land if you are within distance of your opponent (and they are not immune to freezing after just having unfrozen, of course).
    • Magic weapons with built-in spells not working in PvP:
      • Previously, the Trident of the Swamp/Seas and the Sanguinesti staff could not be used in the wilderness at all. Now, they will still not allow you to attack with the built-in spell, but you can use it to manually cast other spells on players (eg. Using a Trident to cast Ice barrage).
    • Red-skull command:
      • You can now red-skull yourself, which means you cannot protect any items whatsoever. The protect item prayer will be disabled for those with a red skull, allowing high-risk fights to take place.
        • Similar to the normal skull command, using the ::redskull or ::redskullme command will give you a red skull for 20 minutes. You can also speak to the Emblem trader to be red-skulled.
        • Protect item will be disabled, and if you already have it enabled upon typing the command, it will be turned off.
    • NPC aggressive distance for most NPCs has been slightly reduced (from 4 steps to 3) within the wilderness.
  • Ring of suffering effects:
    • You can now use a Ring of recoil (noted or unnoted) on your Ring of suffering to charge it, imbuing it with the same recoil properties!
      • A maximum of 100,000 charges, equivalent to 2,500 rings (40 charges each), can be stored.
        • Keep in mind that these recoils/charges cannot be removed from the ring.
      • The effect is toggle-able, so if you are training combat and do not want to waste charges, you can disable it.
      • Charges are not lost upon death.
  • Bracelet of Ethereum updates:
    • You can now uncharge your bracelets for 250 ether each.
      • Simply right-click and use the “uncharge” option.
    • Bracelets can now be toggled to auto-loot ether from your slain revenants.
      • You can enable this option (disabled by default) by right-clicking your bracelet and selecting “Toggle-absorption”.
      • Note that this will only auto-loot ether dropped by a monster that you have defeated, and not someone else’s ether that may be laying on the ground.
  • Looting bag “open” option:
    • You can now “open” your looting bag to auto-loot any items that you pickup in the wilderness!
      • This option will save you time when PvMing (or PvPing), and can be toggled by right-clicking the Looting bag and selecting the “Settings” option
      • You can “close” your looting bag with the same right-click option, though it is closed by default.
      • Keep in mind that this only works for items that are tradable and picked up within the wilderness.
  • Vorkath fixes:
    • Attack adjustments (previously inaccurate to OSRS):
      • All 3 Dragonfire attacks (purple, green and red) can now be fully defended against (deal 0 damage) if you are using a Super anti fire and an Anti-dragon shield (or Dragonfire ward/Dragonfire shield). Using lesser protection, such as a regular Antifire potion, or having no dragonfire-protection shield will lead to varying and higher amounts of damage.
      • The white dragonfire attack, which summons the Zombified spawn, will no longer deal any damage to you. It is simply a summon animation/projectile.
      • The dodgeable dragonfire attack’s max hit has been increased from 99 to 115 if not dodged.
      • Protect from Magic will now completely negate any damage from the Magic attack (blue projectile).
  • Jugs of Wine:
    • Jugs of wine can now be created by using grapes on a Jug of water!
      • It requires level 35 Cooking, and will grant 300 Cooking experience.
    • You can drink Jugs of wine to restore 11 hitpoints.

I have decided to interview two more people this newspaper, the first being iron aritus!

Greetings iron aritus.

Xuf: What was the last picture you took with your phone?

iron aritus: I took a picture of my dessert.

Xuf: Have you ever been pulled over by a police officer?

iron aritus: Unfortunately, I did 2 weeks ago due traffic. I was driving a bit faster than the limit an I got pulled over by the police and resulted a fine.

Xuf: What is the last lie you told?

iron aritus: To a friend that I couldn't hangout due I was playing Alora, Theatre of blood.

Xuf: Is there anyone you would trust with your life?

iron aritus: There is no such person I will trust with my life than my own mother.

Xuf: What is your perfect pizza?

iron aritus: Barbecue Chicken pizza, no doubts.

Xuf: If you could've personally witnessed anything in time, what would it be?

iron aritus: No answer to be honest, since I have a few things I want to witness but I just cannot choose.

Xuf: If you could be any age for a week, what would it be?

iron aritus: I would say 35, since at that age I nearly reach half of my lifetime and I want to see how successful I am then or not.

Xuf: What question do you hate to answer?

iron aritus: The question I would hate the most is if I love my mother more or my girlfriend, since I don't want to hurt one.

Xuf: If you had a brainwashing machine, who would you use it on and why?

iron aritus: Floyd Mayweather, for the money and the fame.

Xuf: What type of music do you listen to?

iron aritus: Mostly Top 40 radio music / EDM.

Thank you for taking the time to answer those questions iron aritus, I really appreciate it!

Next on our list is Diseased!

Xuf: How does it feel to finally be done 4.6B XP on a UIM?

Diseased: I feel that "finally" is the wrong word to describe how I feel. It’s nice to be able to forget about collecting skilling supplies, and having to work around experience bonus events and skill of the day. I definitely feel more free, free to do what I like which at the minute has to be raiding and PvM as a whole.

I never just focused on maxing, Nacyto was there to do the rushing part ;) However, I spent a lot of time doing other stuff focusing on getting best possible gear to do slayer with, completionist cape/monkey etc. If not my playtime for 4.6B would have been a lot better :(

Xuf: What was the most difficult skill to get 200M in with the difficulties of UIM?

Diseased: So what is considered difficult when skilling in Runescape? The amount of time spent for 200M? The annoying skilling methods you have to do? Or something completely different?

I would probably say crafting, not because doing the crafting is super difficult. However more the amount of inventory/looting bag space it would take in order for you to gather all the supplies required. And It’s been a while since I did them, and some of the “recent” updates like spinning flax, boss drop table buffs and battlestaff crafting surely will make it a lot easier for future ultimates/iron man to achieve.

Smithing is another one I would consider “difficult”, simply because the only really viable method of getting your smithing experience is via vote books. Making this skill completely depend on you having alts or a different account to fund it for you. I really dislike that this is the way to go, but it is sadly also too late to change.

Features such as gold smithing gauntlets and maybe even blast furnace/motherlode mining will make for a nice alternative method to get your experience. However this doesn’t seem to be on the priority list as of now.

But I’m a bit special in the head, especially because my favorite skill was without a doubt hunter, closely followed by slayer. And I almost miss my private chin cave every day when I log in to play ;)

Xuf: What is the hardest thing about being UIM besides not having a bank?

Diseased: Sticking to your original plan and complete it step by step, if you don’t do this you will end up with space issues and your journey will become less enjoyable.

I decided to change a bit in my plan and go for all achievements when I really shouldn’t have. I had a lot of skilling supplies stacked up (100m+ smithing experience & A LOT of herblore and crafting experience, max gear(bandos, armadyl, zenyte jewelry, bp etc) - If I died 100s of hours of progress would have been lost). I’m of course talking about the wilderness achievements.

Keep in mind that this is now risk free due to the death mechanic changes the gamemode received a while back.

However with some help from a 6-7 bodyguards (thanks friends) and some really good planning I managed to pull it off without losing anything.

Xuf: What made you want to start a UIM?

Diseased: I was really bored of Runescape. Getting experience on normal accounts, regular ironman was just something I’ve done so many times in the past on different servers, live game etc.

I didn’t really like the play-style of having no bank at first, however I grew to like it a lot - and with great motivational help from my closest UIM friends I got hooked, and I really don’t see myself enjoying any other game mode for longer than maybe a few hours/days.

Xuf: What are your plans for Alora now that you're max XP on UIM?

Diseased: Now that I have space for cool stuff I really want to finish a few goals of mine, one being completely “swag” out my UIM with raids rewards and other smaller PvM drops. I don’t see myself grinding for all pets, it is way to random of a goal for me to ever complete - However the forum award for 15 unique pets is within reach so I might as well get it ;)

Xuf: What is your favorite memory on your way to max XP on your account?

Diseased: Hunter was nice. Not really sure if I have specific moment that I would call my favorite. Think it is overall the people I’ve met and become really great friends with throughout my journey mainly the boys from my clan. But as of recent I think one of my greatest memories without a doubt is when I got 200M mining/200M all. All I wanted was to make sure that the server would receive a message of me getting 200M everything, you know how you also get a message for 99 everything. However guess King decided to hype it up and invite everyone online at the time to come get it with me. Felt super good, everyone showing up both friends and friends to be. Sadly I did not take any pictures from it. But it was truly a great time.

Xuf: Would you do it all again?

Diseased: Yes and no. Truly is the greatest time I’ve had on Alora and Runescape as a whole, however now I’ve crossed that off my list and now there is different goals to be achieved. I also think that I have reached a point in my Runescape life that I’m done grinding for 200Ms - I think I’ve proven to myself now that I’m good enough of a skiller!

Xuf: What was the easiest part of UIM?

Diseased: Getting distracted from your original plan, haha. Runescape is a great plan, that allows you to do a lot of different activities and almost switch in between them whenever you want. That is not the case with UIM.

Xuf: What is one tip you have for any UIM trying to max?

Diseased: Make a plan. Make a plan. Make a plan. Make a plan. You don’t have to follow your plan 100% but have an idea of what you want to do, what your goals are and what order you would like to achieve things in order to unlock next step. Makes the game mode easier and also less stressful - Don’t go to wilderness risking your “bank” guys. Stupid idea.

Xuf: Are you going to go for max XP on any other modes?

Diseased: No. I have my normal account with 2B experience that I play on from time to time, but as I said in one of the earlier questions everything else just start to feel boring once you have tried out and really gotten to like the ultimate game mode. Many people have suggested I try classic or elite for the challenge of slower experience gain. But to me slower is not equal to more fun. If it was I would be on oldschool right now instead of talking to you guys.

For everyone slightly bored, slightly autistic like me I can really recommend this game mode to you. It is a super annoying game mode and really not a game mode for everyone's taste, but it feels super rewarding achieving whatever your goals might be.

Any questions and such just shoot me a pm in-game, on the forums or even discord - You can find me under the “Veteran” section on the Alora discord ;)

Alright, thank you for answering the questions Diseased, appreciated!

#207970 Quality Assurance

Posted by Dante on 07 August 2018 - 11:20 PM

From what I get out of this “Quality Assurance” is basically a Beta Tester with some added things on top for tweaks to current content as well. If im being honest this could sound like a cool idea but I don’t ever see it happening in the future due to the small amount of people who actually get to test new content needing to be trusted members, and in the past to my knowledge when there has been beta access to a larger amount of people (staff members) opposed to the smaller amount we usually run now it just ends up in people messing around and not actually being useful when the beta is open seeing as it wouldn’t be run on a 24/7 server.

There have been talks on the topic previously and when we discuss it, it usually doesn’t end up being the best idea. Regardless, thank you very much for the well thought-out suggestion and taking the time to write it all out.
