#309138 4.6b Total xp achieved!

Posted by J boogs on 08 August 2019 - 09:01 PM

After countless hours of playing Alora, after fully coming back to Alora back in early March, I achieved 4.6b total Xp as on normal game mode! (Ikr #Normie)

When I joined back, I was super motivated, putting in 5-8+ hours a day, grinded to about 3.5b total and then I began to tapper.... Originally, I wanted to be the fastest to achieve max Xp as a normie (which I believe I am). I've always have been a super efficient player and always push myself to get the best Xp/H I can get. During the tapper time which was a few months actually, I would get some gains here and there. A lot of the reason was be receiving a promotion at my IRL job. I'm a manager now so basically I went from zero power within the company, to having to handle 95% of things fall onto me now. Here we are 4 months later, I've finally got a hang of my pants at work and doing a lot better. I was just super stressed out and I would come home at night and be online and just kinda Afk and sit there. I thought to myself one night, why am I just sitting here I could've gotten 5m hunter Xp from just how long I sat here and did nothing. (At the time I was dreaddding hunter of just simply how dry it was to catch 28k red chins lmfao) Idk what was so different that night but it re sparked the grind and then it was just onto the homestretch. I've learning from over the 10+ years of playing Runescape, ALWAYS SAVE THE EASY SKILLS FOR LAST, which I thankfully did, this time! I learned this when I was going for my max cape on OSRS (which I did finally achieve after like 1000 years but that is a different story...)

I'd just like to give a massive shout out to all the bro's who've helped me stay motivated through-out this journey, you  all know who you are, no need to list. <3

As for my next goals for this account is to just basically raid to fund my next account build, just achieve as many pets as I can, work on completing the collection log!

I'm not ever quitting the account, I'm always hopping between my accounts. (I have every gamemode but Realism, maybe one day...)

My biggest goal for the account is to get 50 days playtime, so I can get me that Vet rank :Pawg:

Here's to 4.6b xp and 42 days played, many more to come  <3

Kind Regards,

#308507 Development Blog #7: Forthos Dungeon, The Gauntlet & Prifddinas

Posted by Omicron on 03 August 2019 - 01:48 PM

Hey guys,

We've been working hard on a huge update to add the very latest content from OSRS to Alora, and we decided we'd fill everyone in on the progress. Due to the size of this update, and wanting to get it all out together, we're postponing this week's update until everything is completed and ready to be released.

There is plenty of content coming this update, with many small quirky features within the Forthos dungeon as well as a new boss. There's also a new pet, a plethora of new equipment and weapons that will be released with the city of Prifddinas, on top of the Gauntlet which is a challenging new dynamic dungeon in which you enter without any items and must use the resources provided to defeat the boss in hopes of finding loot.

Brief outline:

  • Forthos dungeon
    • Sarachnis boss
      • Sraracha pet & Sarachnis cudgel (weapon)
    • Grubby chest
  • The Gauntlet
    • Solo dungeon exploration mini-game
    • Youngllef pet
    • Gauntlet cape (Corrupted/Hard mode)
    • New weapon (Blade of Saeldor) + Crystal resources (seeds)
  • Prifddinas city
    • Singing bowl
      • New armour, weapon and tool creation
    • Elven crystal chest
  • Prifddinas dungeon
  • Zalcano
    • Skilling mini-game similar to Wintertodt
    • Smolcano pet + skilling rewards

We're very excited to be able to release this content to you in the near future, and although we don't have an exact ETA due to the scope of the update, we're working our hardest to make sure that we get it out as quickly as possible :)

#307514 [27/7/19] Chambers of Xeric Storage Unit, Lunar spell expansion, Chewed bones...

Posted by Omicron on 27 July 2019 - 09:53 PM

Hello everyone,

This week's update contains many bug fixes and QOL/content updates, as well as the first batch of some highly requested Chambers of Xeric's changes! The focus this week has primarily been on filling up missing pieces of content such as Lunar spells, the Deranged Archaeologist, and Chewed bone sacrificing for the Dragon full helm. As for the CoX changes, the biggest update is the Storage units which can now be built to store items (private, or to be shared with your party) as well as the special bat-chest which provides a lucky player with food. We'll also be focusing some more on CoX updates (such as Olm's head-turning mechanism) in the next update.

  • Miscellaneous:
    • Gnome child hat is now tradable.
    • The black chinchompa teleport has been moved slightly north, to level 34 wilderness.
    • The value of ferocious gloves has been corrected, and should now protect appropriately.
    • Alchemical Hydra can now be assigned as a task to players from Nieve
      • Note that players who are killing Alchemical Hydra on task will still only receive a Brimstone key if that task was received from Konar.
    • The sulphur vents in Tzhaar city can now be used to cook food on.
    • Combat bracelet teleports now work as intended.
    • Viggora’s chain mace attack animation has been fixed.
    • The value of ranger boots has been updated.
    • The Revenant cave now requires 60+ combat and 250k+ risk to enter.
    • Ancestral Robes set:
      • Players can now use their ancestral robe set on the trading post to receive an Ancestral Robes Set item.
        • The Ancestral Robes Set can also be used on the trading post to receive the full ancestral set.
    • Players can now teleport from the equipment interface using the Mythical Cape.
    • Players can now check how many charges remain on their Viggora’s Chainmace/Craw’s Bow from the equipment interface.
    • Berry bushes now give 4 berries per bush instead of the previous 3.
    • Varrock armor 4 now properly provides the same boost as the prospector jacket.
    • Fixed the kraken safe spot.
    • Players can now destroy the Bonecrusher properly.
    • Fixed a spacing issue for usernames on the 19th item listing when searching for items on the Trading post (was a few pixels to the right)
    • On the Venenatis collection log, the Treasonous ring drop was showing up as the imbued version, which means it wouldn't count the drop if you received it. This has been fixed.
  • Wilderness Task Emblem Upgrades:
    • Players killing NPC’s on a wilderness task with a combat level of 50 or higher will now have a small chance to upgrade the highest tier emblem in their inventory.
      • Players who have tier 10 emblems in their inventory will not lose it, but instead be granted an extra tier 8 emblem.
    • The higher level the NPC, and the deeper the player is in the wilderness will both factor into the emblem upgrade rate.
  • Wilderness Supply Chest Changes:
    • Players now require 95 combat and at least 1m risk to open the wilderness supply chest.
    • The tele block spell will not be removed upon logout for players who open the chest.
      • Previously, if a player opened the wilderness supply chest, they would receive a 2.5 minute teleblock, however they would simply be able to relog to remove the timer. This issue has been fixed, and now the only way to remove the teleblock is to leave the wilderness, or wait out the timer.
  • TzHaar-Mej-Roh's Rune Store
    • Players can now purchase runes from this shop in Tzhaar City with Tokkul, at the following prices:
      • Elemental runes: 6 Tokkul each
      • Elemental rune packs: 645 Tokkul each
      • Chaos runes: 135 Tokkul each
      • Death runes: 270 Tokkul each
    • Players can sell runes back to the shop for 20% the price of the item in the shop.
  • Crystal/Brimstone chest changes:
    • Players will now see how many Crystal/Brimstone Chests they’ve opened each time they open them.
      • We did not keep track of how many chests players had opened in the past, so the count will begin at 0 for everyone starting as of this update.
    • Players can right click on the Crystal/Brimstone chest and click “Check” to see how many chests they’ve opened.
    • Lastly, when receiving rare items from either chest, your news announcement will display the number of chests you've opened.
      • Eg. Omicron has received 1 x Amulet of fury from the Crystal chest! (#73)
  • Deranged Archaeologist:
    • Players can now fight the Deranged Archaeologist on Fossil Island by using the “Deranged Archaeologist” teleport found in the teleportation wizard interface.
    • Mechanics:
      • The Deranged Archaeologist has 200 hp, and similar mechanics to the Crazy Archaeologist, however his special AOE attack can do up to 55 damage per projectile.
      • He also cannot be safe spotted or hidden from. If you are within the area, and out of range of the Deranged Archaeologist, he will still be able to attack you with a projectile that cannot be protected from, so beware.
      • His primary ranged attack can be protected from using protect from missiles, however if players get too close, he may use melee to attack.
  • Barrows loot will now be added to rune pouch or ammunition slot if applicable.
    • When barrows loot is rewarded, if a player receives an ammunition reward that they have equipped, it’ll add the ammunition to their equipment slot instead of their inventory to save room.
    • Likewise, if a player has a rune pouch in their inventory, and are rewarded runes that they are carrying in their pouch, the runes will be added to their rune pouch automatically.
      • If the rune pouch is full(16000 rune limit),  the runes will instead be added to the player’s inventory.
  • Lunar spells:
    • Cure me spell:
      • Players can now cast the Cure Me spell if they have 71+ magic.
        • The spell requires 2 Astra runes, 2 Cosmic runes, and 1 Law rune to cast.
        • The spell provides 69 base magic experience.
      • The spell can only be cast if the player is poisoned, and once cast, the player will be cured of the poison.
    • String amulet spell:
      • Players can now cast the String Amulet spell if they have 80+ magic.
        • The spell requires 2 Astral runes, 10 Earth runes, and 5 Water runes to cast.
      • Once the spell is cast, it will continue to auto-cast itself until the player is out of unstrung amulets, or out of runes.
      • The spell provides 83 base magic experience, and 4 base crafting experience.
    • Hunter kit spell:
      • Players can now cast the Hunter kit spell if they have 71+ magic.
        • The spell requires 2 Astral runes, and 2 Earth runes to cast.
        • The spell provides 70 base magic experience.
      • Casting the spell will provide the player with a hunter kit if they have the inventory space for it.
        • The hunter kit, when opened, will provide 1 impling jar, 1 butterfly net, 1 bird snare, and 1 box trap.
    • Recharge Dragonstone spell:
      • Players can now cast the Recharge Dragonstone spell if they have 89+ magic.
        • The spell requires 1 Astral runes, 4 Water runes, and 1 Soul rune to cast.
        • The spell provides 97.5 base magic experience.
      • If the player has an uncharge amulet of glory, combat bracelet, or skills necklace, casting the spell will enchant the uncharged piece of jewelry to 4 charges.
    • All lunar teleports added:
      • Players can now cast lunar teleport spells(excluding group teleports) if they have the required runes and level.
        • New teleports include:
          • Ourania
          • Port Khazard
          • Catherby
          • Fishing Guild
          • Moonclan isle
          • Waterbirth Isle
          • Ice plateau
          • Barbarian outpost
      • Since the teleports in the lunar spell book require runes(unlike other teleport spells), they will also grant magic experience for using them.
    • Spellbook swap spell:
      • Players can now cast the spell book swap spell if they have 96+ magic.
        • This spell requires 3 Astral runes, 2 Cosmic runes, and 1 Law rune to cast.
        • The spell also provides 130 base magic experience when casted.
      • Once cast, the player will be given an option to swap to either the normal or ancients spell book, and once an option is selected, the experience will be granted, and the runes will be consumed.
        • Note: No runes will be removed if the player does not choose a specific spellbook to swap to.
  • Chambers of Xeric updates:
    • Creature keeper room:
      • A single chest in the Creature keeper room will contain 5 cooked Psykk bats (which heal 23 hit points) rather than worms. Additionally, you'll receive 250 points in the raid for finding this chest.
        • This chest, once looted, will stay open. Only 1 player can loot it.
    • Storage units:
      • Storage units are now available!
        • These chests allow you to store items within the raid to use later for the final fight, or simply to store items while you search the chests or worms in the scavenger room.
        • Two right-click options:
          • Shared:
            • This option opens a storage chest which allows you to put raids items only within it (potions and food, for example).
              • These items will not be returned to you at the end of the raid.
          • Private:
            • This option is for you only, and allows you to store your own items (eg. Ancestral robes and a Staff of light).
              • These items are returned to you upon leaving the raid or logging out.
      • How to build chests:
        • You can build 3 types of chests: small, medium and large. Each chest serves the same purpose, and once one chest is built, every chest in the raid is built for the same size chest. You must have a hammer or Dragon Warhammer to build any of these chests.
          • Small chest:
            • Requires 2 Mallignum planks to build and level 30 Construction
            • Stores up to 250 raids items, and 30 personal items.
          • Medium chest:
            • Requires 4 Mallignum planks to build and level 60 Construction
            • Stores up to 500 raids items, and 60 personal items.
          • Large chest:
            • Requires 6 Mallignum planks to build and level 90 Construction
            • Stores up to 1000 raids items, and 90 personal items.
        • Mallignum planks:
          • These planks are dropped by Scavengers within the raid.
  • Chewed Bones:
    • Chewed bones can now be used on the pyre north-east of Otto’s grotto to build a pyre and have a chance at receiving the Dragon Full Helm.
    • Players will require an axe, a tinderbox, a chewed bone, and a log of any type to build the pyre.
      • Once the pyre is built and set ablaze, a barbarian spirit will rise to thank you for releasing him, and provide you with a reward.
      • Once the Pyre is burnt, players will be granted 51 crafting experience, and 202 firemaking experience.
    • Chewed bone prayer bonus:
      • For every chewed bone that the player sacrifices, they will be granted a prayer experience bonus on the next 5 bones that they bury or sacrifice at an altar. This bonus stacks, so sacrificing 5 chewed bones will allow the player to receive a bonus on the next 25 bones that they use.
        • Burying bones will provide 3x the normal experience, and using bones on the altar will provide 1.75x the normal experience when using the bonus.
  • Zamorakian Hasta reverting:
    • Players can now revert their Zamorakian Hastas back into Zamorakian spears by speaking to Otto Godblessed.
      • Note that this will not refund any of the gold paid for the Hasta, and if players wish to turn it back into a spear, they will need to pay the fee again.
  • Supercompost making:
    • Players can now make supercompost using compost bins found at farming areas around the Gielinor.
    • Supercompost can be made by filling the compost bins with 15 suitable items, found from the list on the OSRS wiki: https://oldschoolrunescape.fandom.com/wiki/Supercompost
      • Once the 15 items have been added, players will have the option to close the compost bin, and then the timer will begin.
        • After 30 minutes have passed, the player will receive a notification that they can open the compost bin and collect the compost.
      • We’ve also added bananas and oranges to the suitable items list, since they are available at Trader Stan’s Trading Post.
    • When the compost bin is opened, players will be able to retrieve the following amounts of supercompost, given that they have empty buckets to fill with it:
      • Regular players: 15 supercompost
      • Super donators: 16 supercompost
      • Extreme donators: 17 supercompost
      • Legendary donators: 19 supercompost
      • Uber donators: 21 supercompost
      • Master donators: 24 supercompost
      • Immortal donators: 27 supercompost
    • Ultracompost making:
      • When the compost bin is ready to be harvested, players can use volcanic ash on the compost bin to fill their buckets with ultracompost instead of supercompost.
        • This requires 1.8x the number of compost you can collect, so if you have 25 supercompost left in the bin, you’ll need to have 45 volcanic ash to add to the compost bin.
    • Players can right-click the compost bin to dump it out at any stage if needed.
  • Trader Stan Shop Changes:
    • Stock of Pineapples has been increased to 200, and the price has been increased to 875 coins each.
    • Stock of Bananas has been increased to 400.
    • Stock of Oranges has been increased to 150, and the price has been increased to 801 coins each.
    • Stock of empty bucket pack has been increased to 100.
    • Stock of empty buckets has been increased to 500, and the price has been increased to 35 coins each.
  • Teleport interface updates:
    • The Teleport wizard has a few new teleports to help you get around quicker:
      • Bosses:
        • Deranged archaeologist (Fossil island)
      • Skilling:
        • Orange salamanders (desert location)
        • Black salamanders (wilderness location)
  • Wilderness Chaos Altar change:
    • There are two Chaos altars in the Wilderness, one in level 12 wilderness, and one in level 38. The level 12 altar was previously giving bonus experience when bones were used on it, when this was only intended for the deeper wilderness chaos altar.
  • Slayer helmet/Slayer dart effect fix:
    • Some monster variants were not properly being affected by the Slayer helmet or Slayer dart spell effect.
      • Some of the affected monsters:
        • Mutated bloodvelds, Warped jelly and pretty much any Slayer monster variant.
        • Dawn (Grotesque guardian), first one which you must defeat
        • Dagannoth kings
        • Demonic gorillas

(NOTE: In the GIF above of the storage units, it shows that the Saradomin brews stacked within the chest. This was a bug that has been fixed, and items do not stack in the chest unless they are stackable in your inventory (eg. notes or arrows))

We hope that you guys enjoy this update! As always, please report any bugs that you find as soon as they are found :)

#306345 [20/7/19] Salamander hunting, Explorer's rings, Farming shops, Instance r...

Posted by Omicron on 20 July 2019 - 10:42 PM

Hello everyone,

We’re back with another weekly update! Today’s update contains a few more neat pieces of content such as the ability to hunt Salamanders, functionality to Explorer’s rings as well as the 3rd and 4th rings being released, request Farming shops with replenishing stock for ironmen, and respawn timer notifications for instanced rooms. On top of this, we’ve also managed to squeeze in some bug fixes and QOL!

In other news... we’ve also been working on some Raids 1 changes (storage chests and a few other things, such as tweaks to the Olm’s combat) that should be our next week if all goes according to plan!

  • Salamander hunting:
    • Players can now hunt Red, Orange, and Black salamanders, as well as swamp lizards.
        • Traps can be set using a rope and a small net, and will expire after 2.5 minutes.
      • Black salamanders:
        • Black salamanders can be hunted in the area in level 20 wilderness if the player has at least 67 hunter.
      • Red salamanders:
        • Red salamanders can now be hunted in the area near ZMI if the player has at least 59 hunter.
      • Orange salamanders:
        • Orange salamanders can now be hunted in the desert hunting area if the player has at least 47 hunter.
      • Swamp lizard:
        • Swamp lizards can now be hunted in the Morytania swamps if the player has at least 27 hunter.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Watson in Zeah was previously aggressive and would attack players, this has been fixed.
    • Pieces of the rogue set can now be claimed from the untradeables shop for 100k a piece.
    • Varrock Armour 4 (from the Achievement shop) can now act as a Prospector jacket for the set effect of bonus experience when Mining.
    • Fixed a bug which sometimes caused the "Nothing interesting happens." message to be shown in the chatbox when interacting with equipment in the inventory.
    • Strange device has been removed from the Hard clue rewards loot table.
    • Fixed Duel arena teleport location when using the Ring of Dueling.
    • Cave Krakens now drop 50 noted vials of water instead of un-noted.
    • Magic dart can now be auto-casted using a Slayer’s Staff.
    • Players can now use the mythical cape to teleport to the Myth’s guild.
    • Checking the melting pot in Blast Furnace will now tell you the amount of each ore you have in the melting pot, as opposed to the total amount.
    • Fixed 3rd age axe attack/block animations, and the 65 Attack level requirement has been added.
  • Teleport animation fixed:
    • When using certain jewellery to teleport (such as Glories or Rings of duelling), or even using a lever, while being attacked, sometimes your "block" animation would take priority over the teleport animation.
      • This should no longer happen, and the teleport animation will play regardless of any other animation.
  • Farming shops:
    • Two new limited-stock farming shops are now available!
      • Both shops carry the same stock, but are in different locations and essentially provide double the amount of seeds that can be purchased.
        • Locations:
          • Amelia in the Farming guild
          • Olivia in the Draynor market
        • Seeds:
          • Potato seeds (200)
          • Onion seeds (100)
          • Cabbage seeds (50)
          • Barley seeds (200)
          • Jute seeds (50)
          • Rosemary seeds (200)
          • Marigold seeds (200)
          • Hammerstone seeds (200)
          • Asgarnian seeds (100)
          • Yanillian seeds (50)
  • Instance respawn time notifications:
    • Free Instance notifications (chatbox)
      • If you are in an instanced boss room, you will receive chatbox messages telling you how long it will take for the boss to respawn. Halfway through the respawn time, you will receive another notification.
      • Bosses affected:
        • Zulrah
        • Kraken
        • Alchemical Hydra
        • Cerberus
    • Private instance notifications (interface)
      • If you are in a private instance room, you will see the time left until the boss respawns in the top-left corner of your screen on the private instance interface.
        • This only applies to the boss in the room.
          • For example, in a Bandos room, only General Graardor's respawn will be shown on the interface.
          • For the Dagannoth kings room in which there are 3 rooms, it will show the respawn timer of the most recently killed Dagannoth king.
  • Trading post listing update:
    • The Trading post was recently updated to show listings of players who are online first,  and although this is not being changed, we are extending this to also sort by the lowest price first by default.
      • This means that when you search for a whip you will see the lowest price of any player that is online. There may be lower prices from offline players, though, but at the very least you will not see the 2 billion GP offer on an Iron scimitar show up at the top of the list.
    • Note:
      • This doesn't apply to the "Recent" listings, which always shows the latest listings from online players.
  • Tournament cup updated:
    • The Tournament cup has been updated to include all of 2019's tournament winners thus far.
  • Draynor wall shortcut:
    • Players with level 42 Agility or higher can now utilize the Agility shortcut through the wall that separates Draynor village and Port sarim.
  • Explorer's ring changes:
    • Explorer's rings 1 & 2 were previously in the Daily task reward shop, but were lacking the proper features which have now been added:
      • Ring 1:
        • 50% run energy replenish twice a day
        • Cast Low level alchemy without using runes 30 times a day (no magic XP gained)
      • Ring 2: (All of ring 1 +)
        • The run energy replenish can be used 3 times a day instead of 2
        • Unlimited teleports to cabbage patch near Falador farming patches

    • Players will get the following amount of Volcanic Ash from mining ash piles:
      • Mining level of 97 or higher: 6 Volcanic Ash

    • Players can now fertilize their crops with Ultracompost, which provides an even larger yield than Supercompost fertilization.
  • Hosidius Kitchen:
    • Players can now cook their food on the Hosidius kitchen range, which provides a 10% increased chance of successfully cooking food.
    • Players can access this area from various teleports to Zeah, the closest of which being the Xeric’s talisman teleport to “Xeric’s heart”, then running south.

  • Store updates:
    • Certain items have been discontinued from the store due to them not being popular and simply cluttering the categories:
      • Gnome child hat

      • Dragon javelin pack
      • Dark crab pack
      • Dragon bolt pack

#305755 3 Years of Alora!

Posted by Ultistic on 18 July 2019 - 09:08 AM

Hello everyone!

I've never really made these but I've seen a few of the staff members make them after 1 year of being on the team so I figured I would join them!

My journey here is a bit different than the others so sit back, grab some popcorn and take your socks off.

It all started nearly 5 years ago when I first met Omicron on his old server named "Impact". I was apart of a small community with 20-30 players online at a time. The number of players online didn't bother me at all, I enjoyed the server a ton and I fit right in with everyone. I originally applied for Server Support a month or 2 after playing and to my surprise I was accepted nearly instantly (first time being on a staff team on a RSPS). So this was all new to me and as I moved up in ranks to Forum Moderator, I finally had the chance to meet my dad. We clicked right away and the rest was history, literally. Shortly after becoming Forum Moderator and being in contact with Omicron for a few months, the server shut down sadly and Omicron went to the store and never came back =/.

Nearly a year had gone by and no word from him. So I moved on to Oldschool runescape and kept in contact with some of the other staff members on Impact at the time. A year or so goes by and he finally returned from the store and was very motivated to work on a new project with a few staff members from his old server. We started working on the project around July 18th of 2016 and the launch date for Alora was a few months later on November 4th, 2016.  A lot of time and effort went into that release and the results shocked EVERYONE. We had upwards of 200 players online on day 1! This was a huge change of pace for all of us since we were so used to having 20-30 players at a time online. Omicron trusted me with the Administrator rank for the server release (bad idea :pachaha:  ). Trust me, I made plenty of mistakes when we launched the server initially since I had never held such a high rank on a RSPS. But these mistakes turned me into a bald, old, overweight, decently good CM for Alora.

Jumping ahead to August 2017, I resigned from being an Administrator for a short period of time due to how the current Staff Team was being ran and I didn't agree with everything being done. I enjoyed the break very much but at the same time I hated not being involved with the community as I once was. So 3 months later I was re-promoted to Event Manager since I missed the community and interacting with them. So, I did events for a month or 2 and was later promoted back to Administrator in October after some things changed via the Staff team. Another month has gone by and the day finally came were I was promoted to Community Manager in November  of 2017.

Since that day I have put everything into the Community and the Staff Team. I have watched so MANY players join and leave the Staff Team since day 1. I have made and lost so MANY friends on this server, some of which I had the pleasure of meeting IRL. I am also proud to say that I am the last remaining "OG" staff members on the team along with Omicron.

Without the trust of Omicron since day 1 with the Administrator role, Current/Old Staff Team, and most importantly the community, I would not be in the position I'm in. So a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been here with me on this journey. Here's to another 3 years of being the #1 OSRS Private server!

P.S. - I could of went into a lot more detail with certain memories etc but I figured I would keep it somewhat short and easy to read for people like myself. I am also terrible at shouting out certain people so once again a big thank you to EVERYONE that has been here. ALSO My birthday is tomorrow (the 19th). I'm gonna need 14 Large Meat lovers pizzas and a new wig. <3

#305636 Theatre of Blood Drop Rate Buff

Posted by Trade pl0x on 17 July 2019 - 04:36 PM

Currently the drop rates for Theatre of Blood are broken in my opinion.. The latest update was supposed to make it similiar to OSRS did not help at all, and if anything, made it worse. The drop rate with ZERO deaths on OSRS is 1/9... with 1 death its 1/12.. and as more deaths, it scales. Currently IN MY OPINION i believe the drop rate for Alora is around 1/60-65.

That is just my opinion, could be higher or could be lower.

Just want to start a small poll to see if the community really would like to see a TOB buff for the server, because I honestly do believe it would save numerous people from leaving due to this issue.

EDIT: IF YOU DECIDE TO VOTE NO PLEASE WRITE BELOW WHY YOU THINK THAT.

Also, I've noticed that some of the people voting no have never even done TOB, if you haven't done TOB on Alora yet, please discard your vote.

#304930 [14/7/19] Motherlode Mine, Cave Krakens, Kalphite Queen Rework, Mort Myre Fun...

Posted by Omicron on 14 July 2019 - 02:29 AM

[15/7/19] Hotfixes:

  • Max capes and monkey capes will no longer have the Defence cape effect (teleporting you out at < 10% HP)
  • Elemental runes (water, air, earth, fire) prices increased in the new Rune shop in the Wizard's guild.
  • Fixed major issue with NPC movement / combat introduced last update:
    • Not being able to attack spiders in Theatre of Blood
    • Implings flying out of range
    • Being able to attack monsters through objects
  • Killing Kraken on a Cave Kraken task now counts towards your task.
  • Silver jewellery can now be strung once again.

Hello everyone,

We're back with another round of weekly updates! We've worked hard to push this one out right at the start of the weekend. This week, we're introducing the Motherlode Mine, which provides a viable way to train Mining, as well as the introduction

  • Motherlode Mine:
    • The Motherlode mine is now open for miners who are at least level 30 Mining!
      • Access:
        • You can reach the Motherlode mine by using the Teleport Wizard, or by using the Skills necklace. Alternatively, you can use one of the two shortcuts in the Falador mines.
      • Features:
        • This mining area features Ore veins, which can be mined for pay-dirt and yield 60 Mining experience.
          • These ore veins occasionally deplete, with the ores on the lower level having a higher chance of depleting.
          • The veins also have a chance to give uncut gems.
      • Pay-dirt:
        • The clean the pay-dirt that is mined, you can fill it into the hopper.
          • When deposited, it will be taken through a water circuit and will flow towards the sack at the end.
            • The sack can then be searched to collect various ores, ranging from Coal to Runite.
              • Higher level ores will yield more experience.
            • You will also have a chance to receive Golden nuggets, which can be used in Prospector Percy's Nugget Shop.
        • Sack size:
          • The sack can hold up to 108 pay-dirt initially, but can also be upgraded by paying Prospector Percy 200 golden nuggets, which brings the maximum up to 189 pay-dirt.
      • Hazards:
        • Rockfalls:
          • Occasionally, rocks will fall in certain areas of the mine, damaging any unlucky players who are standing under them for 1-4 HP. These can be mined away for 10 Mining experience.
        • Broken struts:
          • Occasionally, the struts on the water wheels will break. This event affects everybody in the mine, and if both water wheels break, then the machinery can no longer clean pay-dirt for anyone. The struts can be fixed by using a hammer on them and grants some Smithing experience (1.5x the player's Smithing level).
    • Upper level:
      • To access the upper level, you must have at least level 72 Mining and pay Prospector Percy a one-time fee of 10M GP.
        • The upper level contains 68 additional ores that are closer to each other compared to the lower level. They also have a lower chance of depleting.
    • Rewards:
      • You can trade Prospector Percy to purchase the following items in exchange for golden nuggets:
        • Prospector outfit - 180 golden nuggets for full set
          • This set, comprised of helmet (40), jacket (60), legs (50) and boots (30) will provide a 2% boost to Mining experience when fully worn:
            • Helmet - 0.4%
            • Jacket - 0.8%
            • Legs - 0.6%
            • Boots - 0.2%
        • Bag full of gems - 40 golden nuggets
          • These bags can be opened to obtain 40 random noted, uncut gems.
            • The gems can range from Sapphire to Onyx, but we must warn you that the chance of an Onyx is slim to none. Here are the rates:
              • Sapphire - 49.93%
              • Emerald - 34.68%
              • Ruby - 11.8%
              • Diamond - 3.9%
              • Dragonstone - 0.62%
              • Onyx - 0.000001%
        • Coal bag - 100 Golden nuggets
        • Gem bag - 100 Golden nuggets
  • Wizard's Guild Rune shop:
    • Wizard Sinina on the second floor of the guild now sells all kinds of runes (except Cosmic, Astral and Wrath) with a limited stock of up to 5,000 of each rune for elemental, and between 250-400 for other runes.
      • You can also purchase Rune packs in this shop, carrying between 35-80 packs in stock for any type.
      • This shop is available to Ironmen.
  • Rogue set upgrade:
    • The Rogue set now also provides a chance at double loot from stalls, and not only from pickpocketing.
  • Vote shop updates:
    • Silver sickle ( b ) has been added to the vote shop for 300 vote points.
  • Mort Myre fungus collection:
    • Players can now use Silver Sickle( b ), which is purchasable in the Vote shop, to cast bloom in a 1 tile radius around the player, which will turn any Rotting logs into Mort Myre fungus logs.
      • Using the sickle deducts 6 prayer points.
      • Each log the player picks will provide them with 2 Mort Myre fungi, and the player can cast bloom an unlimited number of times.
    • Note:
      • All previous Mort myre fungus spawns have been removed, since they are redundant, and take away utility from the silver sickle.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Fixed a graphical issue on the Achievement shop interface (Karamja gloves were gigantic).
    • You can now 'investigate' the Kourend statue in Zeah to enter the Catacombs.
      • You can also leave through the exit rope to go up to the surface.
  • Jewellery fixes:
    • Amulets of Glory, Rings of Dueling and Games necklaces now have charges removed when used in the equipment tab, as they were previously bugged.
      • The Amulet of glory will not be lost, but the other two will crumble to dust upon being fully used.
    • Games necklace teleports added:
      • Burthorpe
      • Barbarian outpost
      • Kouren
      • Corporeal beast
      • Wintertodt
    • Skills necklace teleports added:
      • Fishing guild
      • Motherlode mine
      • Crafting guild
      • Cooking guild
      • Woodcutting guild
    • Xeric's talisman teleports added:
      • Xeric's Lookout
      • Xeric's Glade
      • Xeric's Inferno
      • Xeric's Heart
      • Xeric's Honor
    • Amulet of glory teleports fixed to include both Karamja and Al-Kharid, while the Duel Arena has been removed from the list.
  • Bonesack utility has been added:
    • The bone sack (from the Achievement shop) can now be used to fill with various types of bones.
      • It can hold bones, big bones, baby dragon bones, dragon bones, superior dragon bones, wyvern bones, lava dragon bones, Drake bones, Wyrm bones, Dagannoth bones, and Hydra bones.
      • Players can store the following amounts based on their rank: (bones in total, regardless of type)
        • Regular players->Super donators: 7 bones
        • Extreme Donators->Legendary Donators: 9 bones
        • Uber donators->Master donators: 11 bones
        • Immortal donators: 13 bones
    • Note:
      • If you die with the bone sack, it will drop all of the stored bones.
  • Cave krakens have been added!
    • You can now disturb the Whirlpools in the Kraken cave to force Cave krakens to rise to the surface of the murky waters.
      • After awakening the Cave krakens, they will attack you with solely Magic. You should also retaliate with Magic, as Melee cannot be used and Ranged attacks are heavily reduced against them.
      • Notable loot:
        • Kraken tentacle
        • Trident of the seas
      • Other loot:
        • Many staff / rune drops, as well as some seeds including Torstol and Snapdragon.
    • Notes:
      • You must be level 87 Slayer to attack these monsters.
    • Slayer:
      • You can now obtain Cave krakens as a Slayer task on a hard Slayer task and be assigned between 55 and 140 to slay.
  • Impling catching update:
    • You can now catch implings in Puro Puro without a jar, whether you are doing so barehanded or with a net.
      • Catching them barehanded will simply automatically loot the impling, without storing it in a jar.
      • You can also now do so without any inventory space, and the loot will simply drop to the floor.
  • Kalphite Queen rework:
    • Prayer mechanics:
      • Phase 1 is now more resistant to Ranged/Magic attacks.
        • Melee should be the choice during this phase.
      • Phase 2 is now more resistant to Melee attacks, requiring you to use Ranged or Magic to damage her.
        • You can also use Verac's to hit through the prayer, but other combat types will remain slightly more accurate.
    • Attack mechanics:
      • Her Ranged/Mage attacks are 100% accurate as intended, and will always hit (still a slight chance to hit 0 through RNG, and still reducible by Prayer).
      • Her Ranged attacks will now drain 1 Prayer point if they hit more than 0.
        • If wearing a Spectral spirit shield, there is only a 50% chance that your Prayer will be drained upon being damaged.
    • Other bugs:
      • Upon transforming to the second phase, the KQ will re-attack the previous target.
      • Fixed a bug where players who died and returned to the area would see the old form of the KQ rather than the 2nd form, if it is transformed.
      • The 'transformation' time between phase 1 and phase 2 has been reduced by a few seconds, as it was slightly longer than it should be.
  • Gold crafting has been fixed:
    • You can now use gold bars on any furnace again to create gold jewellery.
  • Sand crab changes:
    • Aggro/respawn fixes:
      • After respawning, some Sand crabs would not properly aggro on you, or they would not turn back into Rocks. They have now been fixed entirely and should work the same way that Rock crabs do.
    • Multi-combat zone fixes:
      • Crab claw isle is now a multi-combat as intended.
      • The bank area is now single combat as intended.
      • The south-east shore is now single combat as intended.
  • Master Farmer update:
    • You can now obtain Hops seeds from pickpocketing the Master Farmer, which should help for Birdhouse seed collection.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The description for the Gem bag in the web-store has been fixed.
    • Fixed a bug which caused HCIM to lose status if they died immediately after leaving the Recipe for Disaster mini-quest.
    • The Fremennik Slayer dungeon entrance and exit have been fixed.
    • Larran's key, although typically untradeable, now always drops on death, even if another player kills you.
  • Cape fixes:
    • Regular players can no longer use the Donator zone chinchompa teleport.
    • Using certain Max cape functions that had options (eg. Chinchompas, Spellbook swap) would cause your player to perform the max cape emote. This should no longer occur.
    • Ardougne max cape unique teleports (Kandarin monastery and Ardougne farm) have been fixed.
    • Infernal max cape options have been fixed.
  • Daily tasks fix:
    • Daily tasks were not resetting at the proper time (server time) and would sometimes reset 6 hours prior to midnight. This has been fixed.
  • Castle wars barricade fix:
    • Burning barricades would make the underlying tile blocked from being walked on. This has been fixed.

#303864 [6/7/19] ZMI Runecrafting, Silver Jewellery, Draynor Rooftop Course, Clue Boo...

Posted by Omicron on 06 July 2019 - 11:50 PM

Hello everyone,

Note: Abyssal tentacle degrading was originally in this update, but has since been removed and may be polled at a later date.

As promised, our second batch of weekly updates is now live! We've taken some time to adjust the Theatre of Blood drop rates, as they were recently released by the OSRS development team. On top of this, we've got plenty of new content such as ZMI Runecrafting, another low-level Draynor Rooftop Agility Course and fully treatable and enchantable Silver Jewellery. We hope you find can all find something to enjoy in this update! :)

  • ZMI Runecrafting:
    • Players can now access and use the ZMI altar!
      • Players must run through the long/safe path, or dangerous/short path to get the altar, and can craft pure essence on it. The altar rewards all runes except for Wrath runes, and has no level requirement to use. With that being said, the higher your Runecrafting level is, the more likely you are to get a better rune.
        • Players will receive 1 rune per pure essence they craft, or 1-2 runes if they are donator+.
        • Players can't teleport out of the ZMI area, unless they use the Ourania teleport in the Lunar spell, which is free to use, as all spellbook teleports are.
    • Access:
      • You can teleport to the ZMI area through the Teleport Wizard, or through the Ourania teleport in the Lunar spell book.
  • Blood Runecrafting change:
    • Blood runes are now crafted with Dense essence blocks, similar to soul runes, rather than pure essence.
  • Abyssal tentacles dissolving:
    • The Abyssal tentacle now degrades. When you create one, it has 10,000 uses, and once the uses are up, your tentacle consumers your abyssal whip, and returns a tentacle to the player.
    • Players who have a tentacle in-game currently will have 10k uses automatically added to their accounts.
  • Trader Stan's charter shop has been added:
    • Trader stan is in Port Sarim, and he sells general items, including glassblowing pipes, buckets of sand, seaweed, and soda ash, and is accessible by all game modes.
      • His stock, unlike other shops in Alora, goes down in number when people purchase items. These items slowly restock over time (2 per 30 seconds).
  • Barehanded impling catching:
    • Players can now catch implings barehanded. If the player has the necessary level (see hunter guide), they can catch implings barehanded without any net required.
  • Silver jewellery crafting and enchanting:
    • You can now craft Silver jewellery by using your Silver bars on any furnace while having the appropriate mould (and gem) in your inventory.
    • Jewellery that can currently be created and enchanted:
      • Opal Necklace:
        • Requires level 16 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use the level 1 enchant spell on an Opal Necklace to create the Dodgy Necklace, which provides a 25% chance to succeed with a pickpocket if you were going to fail it.
          • The necklace has 10 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the necklace to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Opal bracelet:
        • Requires level 22 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a bracelet mould. Players can use a level 1 enchant on an Opal Bracelet to create the Expeditious bracelet, which provides a 25% chance to decrease the monsters left on a task by 2, as opposed to 1.
          • The bracelet has 30 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the bracelet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Opal amulet:
        • Requires level 27 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 1 enchant an Opal amulet to create the Amulet of Bounty, which provides a 25% chance of not using a seed when farming.
          • The amulet has 10 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Jade necklace:
        • Requires level 25 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use a level 2 enchant on a Jade necklace to create the Necklace of Passage, which provides various teleports around the game.
          • The necklace has 5 charges, and will break after they are used.
      • Jade amulet:
        • Requires level 34 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 2 enchant on a Jade amulet to create the Amulet of Chemistry, which provides a 5% chance to receive an extra dose when creating potions.
          • The amulet has 5 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Topaz necklace:
        • Requires level 32 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a necklace mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz necklace to create the Necklace of Faith, which will boost a players prayer by 10% if their hitpoints fall below 20%, and they are wearing the necklace.
          • The necklace will turn to dust when the perk is used.
      • Topaz bracelet:
        • Requires level 38 crafting to make, using a silver bar and a bracelet mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz Bracelet to create the Bracelet of Slaughter, which provides a 25% chance to not decrease the monsters left on a task.
          • The bracelet has 30 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the bracelet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
      • Topaz amulet:
        • Requires level 45 crafting to make, using a silver bar and an amulet mould. Players can use a level 3 enchant on a Topaz amulet to create the Burning Amulet, which provides various wilderness teleport options.
          • The amulet has 5 charges, and will break after the uses are used. Players can right click the amulet to check the uses left, and break it to reset their uses.
  • Draynor Rooftop Agility course:
    • The Draynor Rooftop course is now available for low-level Agility training!
      • With a requirement of 10 Agility, players now have an alternative to the Gnome agility course for low-level training.
      • The full course will give 120 experience (before multipliers) as well as 1-2 Marks of grace upon completion of a lap.
  • Cape changes:
    • Max cape update:
      • The 'Features' right-click option while the Max cape is in your inventory can now be used to swap your spell book.
    • Max cape options have been added to the following combination capes:
      • Fire max cape
      • Saradomin max cape (+imbued variant)
      • Zamorak max cape (+ imbued variant)
      • Guthix max cape (+imbued variant)
      • Ava's max cape
      • Ardougne max cape
        • This cape has only been given some of the options (notably the Spellbook swap) as it already has its own options.
      • Infernal max cape
      • Assembler max cape
    • Monkey (completionist) cape options update:
      • The Monkey has been given the same right-click options in the inventory and equipment tab as the Max capes.
        • Previously, it only had a Teleport option in your inventory. It will now feature the Spellbook swap option as well, and both options will be available in the equipment tab right-click.
  • Vote reward shop price fixes:
    • We intended to make the Rogue outfit 2,000 points (and 1,000 for restricted game modes), but following the previous update it was 2,250 points.
      • We've corrected this to 2,000/1,000 by reducing the price of the Rogue mask to 350 from 500, and the price of the top/bottom to 575 from 625.
  • Slayer vote book bonus fix:
    • Due to the Slayer bonus from Vote books only being a 25% increased, this means that if you receive 2 points, 25% more is 2.5, which the server would then round down and keep at 2.
      • This is now fixed, and the server will round upwards instead, to give you 3 points (effectively a 50% bonus in this case).
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The Wilderness supply chest would spawn about 2 seconds before the announcement was made, but it will now spawn simultaneous to the announcement.
  • Edgeville dungeon / Varrock sewer obstacle pipe:
    • Players with 51 Agility can now use the pipe to cross between these two areas, which should speed up Red spiders' eggs collecting.
  • Client updates:
    • The zoom buttons in the Settings tab have been fixed to properly zoom in and out. The middle button resets the zoom to the default.
  • Wesley the Crusher:
    • Wesley is now standing near Zahur by the Edgeville Furnace to crush your Herblore items for you!
      • He can crush any item that requires a Pestle and Mortar, such s:
        • Unicorn horns
        • Blue dragon scales
        • Bird nests
        • Chocolate bars
        • Goat horns
        • Kebbit teeth
        • Lava scales
        • Superior dragon bones
      • Wesley charges 500 coins per item, and is able to crush noted items. (except for Bird nests which are un-notable)
        • This price is reduced for Donator ranks:
          • Normal: 500
          • Regular Donator: 475
          • Super: 450
          • Extreme: 425
          • Legendary: 375
          • Uber: 325
          • Master: 275
          • Immortal: 200
  • Sand crabs:
    • Sand crabs can now be fought in Zeah!
      • These crabs are located on a sandy shore south of Zeah, which can be accessed by using the Teleport wizard and going Monsters -> Sand Crabs.
      • They have more hitpoints than Rock crabs, and there are more of them, making it a prime area for combat training.
    • Seaweed spawns:
      • There are now a whopping 28 seaweed spawns along this shore, making it the best area for collecting seaweed at the moment. There is also a bank chest on the shore.
    • Crabclaw Isle:
      • A private island to fight crabs is available to the south of the shore, for a fee of 100k GP.
        • You can stay here as long as you'd like, but if you leave, you'll have to pay another 100k to revisit.
  • Theatre of Blood changes:
    • Killtime record QOL:
      • The killtime records will now display the full team for ToB, whereas it usually shows 3 players maximum for other bosses/mini-games.
    • Points system / Loot rate matching OSRS:
      • OSRS recently released the exact formulas (# of points given for different actions in the raid, and how the affect the loot rates) which we've taken the time to implement into Alora's Theatre of Blood.
        • We now have near-100% accurate rates for the reward system in the Theatre of Blood.
        • This also means that Lil Zik is completely separate from the loot table, and is rolled at a 1/650 rate but does not affect your rare loot whatsoever.
      • Here's how it works in a nutshell (full image below with more details):
        • An 'invisible' point system in the background keeps track of your progress:
          • Dying reduces your points.
          • Dealing the most damage in a room/phase gives you more points.
          • Participating in each room gives you points. (AFKing will not)
          • Raid boosters increase the # of points you can obtain.
        • At the end, 1 player will be chosen as the MVP, which will be eligible for the rare loot.
          • The MVP is chosen based on how many points you have out of the team total.
            • For example, if you have 30% of the team's points, you have a 30% chance of being the MVP.
            • The MVP will then roll for the rare loot, which has an 11% chance. This 11% chance is reduced by deaths in your team, but is also increased by the vote bonus, server bonus on weekend events and drop scroll boosters.
              • Once you hit the rare drop table, you will be guaranteed one item at the following rates:
                • 1/19 -  Scythe of Vitur
                • 2/19 - Ghrazi rapier
                • 2/19 - Sanguinesti staff
                • 2/19 - Justiciar face guard
                • 2/19 - Justiciar chest guard
                • 2/19 - Justiciar leg guards
                • 8/19 - Avernic defender hilt

  • Store updates:
    • Clue booster:
      • Clue boosters can now be purchased from the donation store!
        • These will boost the chance of obtaining super rare loot from opening Clue scroll caskets by 20% for 1 hour, at the cost of 15 tokens.
          • Ideally, you'd complete your caskets and save the clues before using one of these boosters to maximize the benefit.
          • The booster will also increase your chance of receiving the Clue hunter outfit pieces.
          • These can be purchased by any game mode, but have the same restrictions a well:
            • EIM/GIM cannot open another booster if there is still time remaining on the current one.
            • EIM/GIM/HCIM/Classic/Realism can only open 1 Clue booster every 3 hours.

    • Gem bag has been added to the Vote shop as intended (500 points).

Hello everyone,

Today's update brings a classic mini-game with it... Castle Wars! You can now hop right in and help your team to capture as many flags as possible, with a unique twist on the rewards table. Rewards include some convenient items for ironmen such as runes, herb boxes, seed packs, as well as many cosmetics such as the Saradomin hoods/capes/banners that are on OSRS, but also some items unique to our reward shop such as the new Dagon'hai robes! Aside from this, many QOL updates and bug fixes have also been applied, such as some reductions on Trading post taxes for online players, and a new search functionality that lists online players first.

Without further ado...

  • Castle Wars:
    • The Castle Wars mini-game is now released! Hop right in by using the Teleport wizard or typing in ;;cwars
      • Lobby:
        • You can enter any of the three God portals: Zamorak, Guthix or Saradomin
          • Be warned, if you enter a portal wearing the armour of another God (eg. Entering Zamorak wearing a Guthix d'hide piece), you will be converted into an animal of their choice! (Sheep, Imp or Rabbit)
      • In-game:
        • Underground tunnels:
          • The tunnels can be used to travel underground and can be entered from either base (Sara/Zammy), as well as in the centre of the battleground.
            • Within these tunnels, you may encounter some collapsed rocks. You can mine these away with a pickaxe, or use 2 explosive potions to take them down.
              • You can also collapse a wall yourself to create a rock deposit and block players from following you, but this also requires either 1 explosive potion or a pickaxe, which takes slightly longer.
                • If you collapse a wall which has players standing near it (where the rocks fall), any players in this zone will be instantly killed (including your team-mates).
              • At the start of every game, all sides of the tunnel (North/east/south/west) will have rock deposits that you must break your way through.
          • Objective:
            • You must capture the other team's flag, while protecting your own. You can protect your own by setting up barricades to deter other players, keeping the underground tunnels protected and monitoring the castle walls and holding players off.
        • Rewards:
          • You will receive Castle Wars tickets as follows upon completion of a game:
            • Shut-out win (1-0) = 3 tickets to winning team, 1 ticket for losing team.
            • Regular win (2-1) = 2 tickets to the winning team, 1 ticket for losing team.
            • Scoreless tie (0-0) = 2 tickets for both teams.
            • Regular tie (1-1) = 1 ticket for both teams.
          • Donator bonus:
            • If you are an Extreme donator or higher, you will receive 1 bonus ticket per game.
            • If you are Uber donator or higher, you will receive 2 bonus tickets per game.
          • Server bonus:
            • Event managers can set Castle Wars events to give bonus tickets! (Up to 1.5x, but will give a minimum of 1 extra ticket always.
          • Ticket Exchange:
            • Lanthus can exchange your tickets for the following rewards:
              • Castle wars hoods (Saradomin or Zamorak)
                • 50 tickets
              • Castle wars capes (Saradomin or Zamorak)
                • 100 tickets
              • Castle wars banners (Saradomin or Zamorak)
                • 250 tickets
              • Seed pack:
                • 4 tickets
              • Herb box:
                • 4 tickets
              • Dagon'hai outfit:
                • 250 tickets for hat
                • 500 tickets for top OR bottom
              • Rat pole
                • 40 tickets
              • Gadderhammer
                • 60 tickets
              • Sheep pet
                • 250 tickets
              • Castle wars bracelet (1)
                • 1 ticket
                  • This bracelet is a single-use bracelet that gives you +20% damage and makes bandaids heal 50% more in the Castle wars arena. It is removed after the game. It is also tradable.
          • Blessing of The Gods:
            • Upon the completion of each successful game, you will receive 20, 15, or 10 minutes on your Blessing of the Gods timer (20% bonus XP) depending on whether your team won, tied, or lost, respectively.
              • To make this a viable method of obtaining bonus XP, your blessing timer will not go down while you are playing Castle Wars (in the waiting area or in-game).
              • Additionally, you are required to participate in the mini-game (dealing damage, setting up barriers, etc) to obtain this blessing as well as tickets in general.
                • The timer doesn't work in the Castle wars mini-game either, so you won't be able to perform any skilling tasks while inside to benefit from the 'frozen' XP bonus.
  • Herb box:
    • Herb boxes are now available! You can receive 10 random herbs from these boxes, including:
      • Guam, Marrentill, Tarromin, Harralander, Ranarr, Irit, Avantoe, Kwuarm, Cadantine, Lantadyme and Dwarf weed
    • At the moment, the only method of obtaining these boxes is through the Castle Wars Ticket Exchange.

  • Trading Post Updates:
    • To make the Trading post more convenient, we are adding three new features:
      • 1. Online sellers show up first
        • When searching for a specific item on the Trading Post, by default the listings at the top will be for sellers who are online. This gives buyers the opportunity to negotiate with online sellers more easily.
      • 2. Online status shown on listings
        • No matter where you are searching, you will be able to easily see the online/offline status of the seller.
      • 3. Trading post fee re-imbursement
        • To lessen the burden of the Trading post fees, sellers who are online will receive 50% of the total fees collected from the sale. This will allow sellers to offer a lower price to sell their items as long as they are online at the time of sale.
        • For example, if you sell a bond for 400m, 10m is added as tax, bringing the total to 102.5m.
          • If you are online when this item is sold, you will collect 405m.
          • If you are offline when this item is sold, you will collect 400m.
  • Vote shop reward updates:
    • Numerous items have been added to the Vote shop:
      • Instance tokens - 80 vote points PER token
        • We've decided to add an alternative method from the donation store to obtaining these tokens.
      • Rogue outfit:
        • This exclusive, never-seen-before cosmetic outfit can only be obtained from the Vote store, and costs 4,000 vote points for the full set.
          • NOTE: This cost is reduced by 50% for Classics/EIM/Realism/HCIM/GIM.
            • This is due to the fact that they can only open Vote books once every few hours and are more limited, and also that the Rogue outfit is not tradable.
          • Price per piece:
            • Trousers/Top - 1,250 each
            • Mask - 1,000 points
            • Boots/Gloves - 500 each
      • Gem bag - 500 vote points
        • Details found below.
  • Realism mode changes:
    • The PKP exchange can now be used by Realism players, though it is similar to the Ironman PKP exchange in that the stock is not as overpowered as the normal PKP exchange.
    • Realism players can now sell back to the General store.
  • Rogue outfit:
    • (Obtained from the Vote shop)
    • The Rogue outfit pieces each provide a % chance of receiving double loot when pickpocketing NPCs (Full set effect: 18%).
        • Bonus chance:
          • Mask - 4%
          • Top - 5%
          • Trousers - 5%
          • Boots - 2%
          • Gloves - 2%
        • You will receive the following hatbox message when your set helps you steal double the loot:
          • "Your rogue outfit allows you to stealthily steal double the loot."
  • Gem bag: (Thanks to @GIM Rockstar for the suggestion!)
    • The Gem bag can now be used to store 60 of each of the following gems (300 total):
      • Uncut sapphire
      • Uncut emerald
      • Uncut ruby
      • Uncut diamond
      • Uncut dragonstone
    • This bag can be used when slaying monsters that drop gems frequently, or when gem mining. You can also use it when crafting jewellery, to quickly withdraw gems that you are cutting.
    • Obtaining:
      • There are currently two methods of obtaining the Gem bag:
        • Vote shop - 500 vote points
        • Donation store - 75 tokens
    • Losing on death:
      • If lost on death, you can reclaim the bag from the Lost items manager for 250,000 GP.
  • Instance refunds:
    • If you have an active instance with at least 30 minutes remaining on the clock (1/3 of the total room time) when the 5 minute update timer starts, you will automatically receive an instance token to open a new instance when the server restarts.
      • You will no longer be able to open instances when a pending update is announced 10 minutes before the timer starts (when Raids are disabled).
  • Superglass make spell fix:
    • This spell will now yield an extra 30% Molten glass as intended (no extra experience).
  • Bank search bugs fixed:
    • A bug that occurred when searching for items in the bank that prevented you from withdrawing them (when not on the main tab) has now been fixed.
    • Another bug, which quickly closed the search interface after clicking it, has also been fixed.
  • Collection log fixes:
    • Dragon chainbody drop (found in the Slayer, Thermonuclear Smoke Devil and Kalphite Queen sections) was not properly being counted when received and has been fixed.
  • Banner animation fixes:
    • All in-game banners (eg. Arceuus, Western, etc) had the wrong animations, and would be held 'backwards'.
      • We've fixed all of these animations to make them look how they should, including stand, walk, run, block, and attack animations.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The chance of inflicting an enemy with venom when wearing a Serpentine helmet now works for Tanzanite and Magma helmets.
    • A few bad ram/goblin spawns in Lumbridge have been fixed.
    • Unholy symbol now goes into the amulet slot rather than the weapon slot.
    • Rune Warhammer animations have been fixed.
    • Fixed a typo in Sir Loyal T's dialogue.
    • Crafting Slayer helmets now requires level 55 Crafting.
    • Ferocious gloves are now tradable.
    • The teleport wizard can now take you to the Wilderness mammoths area.
    • Players can now slash through webs by using a knife on them.
    • A few tiles in the Edgeville dungeon were safe, they have been fixed and are now considered non-safe wilderness areas.
    • Ring of recoil no longer appears twice in the Grand supply shops (Normal and for Realism).
    • Requirement fixes:
      • Dragon full helmet now requires 60 Defence to wear.
    • Fixed a bug in the starter tutorial which would not put you back at the right location if you logged out half-way through the tutorial.
    • Dragonfire ward (noted) is now tradable.
    • Boots of lightness, Spotted cape, Spottier cape now reduce weight as intended.
    • Insatiable bloodvelds/regular bloodvelds can now drop 3, 10, or 30 blood runes.
    • Insatiable mutated bloodvelds now drop 7 or 30 blood runes.
    • Players can now remove lava/volcanic whip imbuement with a cleaning cloth.
    • Blue and black wizard hats now give +2 Magic bonus as intended.
    • Runner boots now require 40 defence to wear instead of 45.
    • Elemental shield now protects you properly when fighting Wyverns.
    • Princess blouse now equips in the correct slot.
    • Black/Rune heraldic shields can now be equipped.
    • Watering cans can now be filled with water.
    • Frozen/volcanic abyssal whips, and other ornamented items (anguish, tormented, torture) now protect over less valuable items.
    • Fremennik helm now requires 30 defence to wear as intended.
  • Zamorak brew functionality:
    • You can now drink Zamorak brews.
  • Wilderness/Combat changes:
    • Weapon fixes:
      • Vesta's longsword fix:
        • The VLS special attack will now work properly, hitting at least 20% of the max hit when used, up to 120%. (Subject to Melee Prayer protection)
      • Statius Warhammer fix:
        • The Statius Warhammer special attack will now work properly, hitting at least 25% of the max hit when used, up to 125%. (Subject to Melee Prayer protection)
      • Arclight fixes:
        • Attack speed:
          • Attack speed is now much faster, with the same speed as a whip.
        • Special attack:
          • The 'Weaken' special attack has been implemented:
            • Weaken, which uses 50% of the player's special attack energy and lowers the opponent's Strength, Attack, and Defence levels by 5% (10% for demons). Weaken's effect is only applied if it is a successful hit. Use of the special attack does not detract from Arclight's charges.
      • Dragon Warhammer special attack fix:
        • The Dragon Warhammer special attack was not properly 'stacking' on NPCs.
          • It will now work properly, with 2 successful special attacks reducing your enemy's defence by 51%. (30% lower each time, based on the current level)
    • Teleblock changes:
      • The Teleblock projectile has been changed to match OSRS (purple projectile if it's going to land, otherwise gray projectile).
      • The experience for a TB that lands is now 95, otherwise it is 84.
      • Teleblock will now never do any damage.
      • Teleblock is now removed upon logout (along with the timer) as it is in OSRS.
    • Crazy Archaeologist:
      • The Crazy Archaeologist can now be properly fought!
        • This insane individual, who resides in The Forgotten Cemetery, can drop Malediction and Odium ward shards.
          • You can also be assigned Crazy Archaeologist tasks from Krystilia, the Wilderness Slayer master.
          • The Teleport wizard can now take you to The Forgotten Cemetery.
    • Chaos Fanatic:
      • The Chaos Fanatic can now be properly fought!
        • The Fanatic, who resides west of the Lava Maze, also drops Malediction and Odium ward shards, as well as the Ancient staff.
          • You can be assigned Chaos Fanatic tasks from Krystilia, the Wilderness Slayer master.
          • The Teleport wizard can now take you directly to the Fanatic's location.

Hello Everyone! I've seen many of these progress reports, and have been meaning to make one for the LONGEST time. I won't say this will be perfect, but I would like to be consistent with this as possible. Also a massive shoutout to @Elite Sheets as i've used his template as it impressed me  :)

#255849 [12/01/19] Group Ironman is LIVE! (+Collection Log, Special Attack Orb, a...

Hey guys,

We’re extremely excited to announced that Group Ironman is now live! I’d like to deeply apologize for the significant delay from the announced release time, unfortunately we were not able to meet the deadline while still ensuring that the update was ready to be pushed. I know that many of of you were prepared a few hours ago, and I thank you for your patience since then! Our priority is ensuring that there aren’t any major bugs in new updates, and we’ve taken some extra time for this one considering it is a larger update. Nonetheless, the new game mode is ready to be played, and you can hop right into it! We’ve also included some other cool updates such as the Collection log and some much needed Theatre of Blood updates that we hope you’ll appreciate!

  • Group Ironman (team) mode is now available!
    • Group Ironman is a new game mode designed for Ironman who have more than one friend that they’d like to partner up with. Here are the details:
      • Experience rate:
        • 6x base rate
          • This rate is slightly faster than Elite Ironman mode (4x) and Classic mode (5x), but not as fast as Hardcore Ironman mode (8x). We think that this is a nice fit for the game mode, as it provides a challenging experience rate, yet it isn’t the most challenging for those of you who simply want to play as part of a group and not be on the most difficult game mode (Elite).
      • Experience bonuses:
        • The same limitations of the Elite game mode apply to GIMs. Typical XP bonuses such as the Well of Goodwill will give 50% of the usual bonus (15% rather than 30%), and Vote books can only be opened once every 12 hours.
      • Group feature:
        • A requested feature not only on Alora, but on OSRS as well, the Group feature will allow you to form a group of 4 other players to join you on your adventure.
          • Your team mates are the only other players you could trade with, and are permanent. Once you reach 5 players total, no new players can be added to the team (or removed).
          • There is no time limit for when you can add players to the team, but once the team is full no changes can be made.
          • You can use the Group Ironman Orb in the house west of Edgeville to configure your team.
      • Highscores: (**The Highscores for Group Ironman will be available within 24 hours**)
      • Vote books:
        • You can only open a vote book once every 12 hours.
        • You cannot open another vote book if you still have bonus XP.
      • Bonds/donations:
        • Bonds are the only item you can transfer from your main to your GIM.
        • The same donation rules that apply to other ironmen/classics apply to GIM (mostly cosmetic only).
      • Clan chat:
        • “Group” clan chat will be auto-joined for GIM players (if not already full).
      • Gold:
        • Similar to Elites, Group Ironmen receive half the usual gold.
      • Bloody keys:
        • Although the poll results were very close, we’ve decided to block GIMs from picking up Bloody keys, at least for the first little while. We very well may allow these to be looted in the near future, though.
      • De-ironing:
        • At the moment, de-ironing is not a possibility for Group Ironmen. This is due to the fact that teams are final, and once 5 players have formed a team it is something that should be permanent.

  • Miscellaneous:
    • Spiky d’hide vambraces now all have the correct Ranged level requirements.
    • Fixed some pink pixels that would sometimes flash around the inventory area (visual bug)
    • Fixed a typo when receiving rare loot from a clue scroll (news yell)
    • Default clan chat changes:
      • Upon attempting to enter the “Alora” clan chat, if it is full you will be redirected to a “Help” channel (eg. “Help” or “Help1”).
    • Random events will no longer affect players in the Wilderness, due to them freezing the player and cancelling out combat.
    • The Antisanta outfit is now tradable. (Custom set)
    • KOTS winners from December added to the PvM Cup:
      • (1. Unknown, 2. Sololite, 3. 2 Ridiculous)
    • Mist battlestaff stand and attack animations have been fixed.
    • Mist battlestaff requirements (30 attack 30 magic) have been added.
    • Items such as the Arcane spirit shield will no longer protect over the Elysian spirit shield.
  • Woodcutting improvements:
    • The 3rd age axe can now be used to chop trees.
    • Cutting speed changes:
      • The rate at which you get logs from a tree will now be significantly based on the type of axe you use, with Dragon / 3rd age pickaxes being the fastest to chop with.
      • This won’t bring much change unless you’re using a bad axe.
        • For example, if you’ve been using a Dragon axe to cut Magic logs, you won’t see much of a difference in the rate at which you obtain logs. If you’ve been using a Bronze axe, though, you’ll definitely notice that it takes longer to successfully obtain logs.
  • Christmas removals:
    • The following have been removed from Alora:
      • Christmas event
      • Snow
      • Christmas tree + snowfall objects
      • Christmas giveaway + Haris NPC
  • Abyssal dagger poison:
    • You can now use weapon poison on the Abyssal dagger to convert it to the (p), (p+) or (p++) version.
  • Special attack energy orb:
    • An orb has been added to show you how much special attack energy you currently have.
      • This orb will be hidden along with all the others if you toggle the “Data orbs” setting.
  • Theatre of Blood loot changes:
    • Passage changes:
      • When going through a passage, usually HP and Prayer are restored (as well as any lowered combat skills).
        • We’ve also made it so that special attack energy and run energy is restored, and any poison is cured upon passing through to the next room.
    • Loot changes:
      • We’ve changed the way in which you receive rare loot in the Theatre of Blood, making it more similar to OSRS. Firstly, the rate of obtaining any rare drop from doing a raid has increased across the board by approximately 17%.
      • Aside from this, and being the most major change, we’re changing the percentage chance of obtaining each rare item once you have already hit the rare loot table. The Scythe of Vitur will become much more rare, and certain items (Avernic defender, for example) are becoming much more common.
        • With that being said, these are the approximate percentages of landing each item after this update:
          • 43.5% - Avernic defender
          • 34.8% - Justiciar piece (11.6% chance for each piece)
          • 10.1% - Sanguinesti staff
          • 7.9% - Ghrazi rapier
          • 3.7% - Scythe of Vitur
        • The visual chart below will show you these percentages more clearly. This was calculated based on OSRS rates, but the only difference is that we’ve made all of the Justiciar pieces the same % rate (11.6%) and removed 1% chance from the defender.
        • We have not changed the rate of obtaining Lil’ Zik.
  • Collection Log:
    • The Collection log has been added!
      • You can access your own collection log through the Quest tab, by clicking on the “View Collection Log” button.
      • The collection log tracks your drops from bosses, pets you’ve obtained, minigame items you’ve earned, raids loot, clue loot, slayer unlocks and more!
      • Any items that are already obtained by you and are untradable will already be counted in the Collection log, but any tradable items (Eg. Abyssal whip) will not show up from previous drops. This is necessary as we can’t be sure whether or not the items that are currently in-game were earned or purchased from other players, and the collection log is designed to only track and count loot that you have earned yourself. To make it fair for everyone, all game modes are starting at the same place (only untradables are unlocked).
        • We’ve attempted to identify combination items as well, for example the Dragon defender (g) will unlock the Dragon defender on first log on. Another example is that if you have the Vorkath slayer helmet, it will unlock Vorkath’s head drop in your collection log.
  • Welcome screen upgrade:
    • Clickable buttons:
      • The email block (top right) can now be clicked to open up your forum inbox.
      • The store/token block (bottom right) can now be clicked to open up the store on the website.
    • Hovers:
      • Both the email block, store block and the “Click here to play” buttons will now all light up when you hover your mouse over them.
  • Well of Goodwill fee increase:
    • Since Alora launched over 2 years ago, we’ve had the same cost for the Well of Goodwill, which is 25m GP per 90 minutes. Considering that the economy is quite established, and 25m is not as costly as it was on launch, we’re raising this amount to 100m GP. We’d like for the well to be more expensive so that the donations stand out and are more appreciated, and there is the added benefit of the extra gold being removed from the game will have a positive effect on the economy.
      • With this change, the announcement for big donations to the well has been increased from 2.5m to 10m.
      • To encourage players to donate items into the well more often, we’re increasing the amount of GP that items are worth to the well by 50%. This means that instead of the item being worth half of the exchange price when donating it, it will be worth 75% of the exchange price.
  • Skill tab update:
    • When hovering over a skill, the numbers will now be formatted.
      • For example
      • Firemaking XP:  100000
        • -> Firemaking XP: 1,000,000
    • When hovering over a skill, you will now be shown the amount of XP remaining until your next level.

  • Forum updates:
    • A partner request sub-forum has been added for players looking for a duo partner for Elite Ironman, or a group for Group Ironman. This is listed under the General Discussion forum.

#235994 Theatre of Blood/ToB/Raids2 Droptable buff/Tweaks

Posted by EIM 1gp on 18 November 2018 - 04:15 PM

What is your suggestion?: Improving the rate of drops at the Theatre of Blood.

Is this in OSRS?: Yes, The reddit post I have linked is based on drops from the live OSRS servers.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: A while ago omicron did tweak the droptable in a update however it has not been a suggestion since.

How would this benefit Alora?: As some of you who have done Theatre of Blood on alora might have noticed the droptable seems off compared to the live OSRS servers. Unfortunatly the offical drop table for the Theatre of Blood has remained a secret amongst Jagex moderators.

That makes it hard to determine what the droprates really are. However after a little bit of searching I have found a reddit post which explains the droprate of the Theatre of Blood based on the person with the highest killcount on OSRS. My suggestion is to tweak the droprate accordingly with the information in the reddit thread.

(this post ha been here for a while) Edit:

To explain a bit more in detail, Currently as it stands we see that there is plenty of raids2 items comming into the game. Yes I agree it seems like there is not comming much in-game but this is because of the fact that there is not many people doing raids2. When more people start doing raids2 you can ofcourse expect more items to come into the game.

priority changes would have to be that we can conclude that the droprate of the scythe compared to some others items seems a bit off... Scythe is supossed to be the rarest of all. Currently there is quite a few comming into the game.
Not to mention the very low income of avernic defender hilts and rapiers...

Both these items look like to be the rarest while they should be more of the common ones...

As it stands now I think the staff and justiciar pieces hold a good rate.

Let me know what you think !

Let me know what you think of this suggestion!!

#246720 General store changes (Normal + Ironman game modes)

Posted by Jisoo on 22 December 2018 - 04:12 PM

What is your suggestion?:

I would like to see item packs added to general stores. Vial packs, feather packs, possibly even rune packs.

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes, it is on OSRS.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

I don't believe so.

How would this benefit Alora?:

This quality of life update would help Alora players efficiently purchase bulk amounts of  skilling/miscellaneous supplies from general stores at a faster rate. Also may reduce carpal tunnel for those who used the traditional right click, left click buy options from stores.

#241998 Slayer: Fixing The TzTok-Jad Task

Posted by EIM Django on 07 December 2018 - 09:42 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Apply a fix to the current TzTok-Jad task in the Extreme slayer tasks.

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No

How would this benefit Alora?:

Currently doing a TzTok-Jad task gives you only the experience for the HP of Jad (250HP) which translates to 1,000 Slayer xp for doing the entirety of the fight caves.  Currently the Slayer helm does not work against the lower levels along the way, nor do you receive slayer experience for killing those either.

In OSRS doing a Jad task offers a reward of 25,250 for killing Jad plus slayer experience for each lower level killed along the way as well.  Fixing these issues would make doing Jad tasks worthwhile, as of right now they are pointless and merely there for us to block and waste slayer points on.
