#387844 Things that are wrong on Alora

Posted by Moe on 30 January 2021 - 01:49 PM

Some of these issues you have posted are already in the works, and you should be seeing them very soon (PvP updates, Tournament NPC, PKP Shop changes, etc). Other issues you have posted, were bug reported and will be in the next update. And for issues involving end-game content, a report of the issue would bring a fix. Also the content like supply chests etc for ironman was a community poll and hasn't been an issue for anyone. I think the economy is doing okay for a game that has been out for over 4 years, and being an RSPS (faster to obtain).

But yeah, we fix bug reports and Omicron does a great job with going through that section daily. Check out the recent updates apart from content additions it's always bug fixes.

#151814 [17/01/18] Major bug fixes, Edgeville PvP, Master donator rank, Mole/Dclaw bu...

Posted by Omicron on 17 January 2018 - 06:45 AM

Hello everyone,

First and foremost I’d like to apologize for the lack of updates recently. This was due to a combination of spending the holidays with family and being busier IRL than usual, but I’m getting back into it full swing.

I’ve been hammering out the to-do list the past few weeks and have made huge progress on existing bugs / suggestions that the community has made. This update includes much of that work, but it is what I’d label as a general update to target many different types of content as well as bugs.

Dragon Slayer 2 Development

The next update will be more targeted, as it will mostly be Dragon Slayer II content, which was released just over a week ago on OSRS. We’d like to get this content into Alora as soon as possible, and have already gotten a decent amount of work done towards this.

This content includes:

  • Vorkath boss fight
  • Myth’s guild
  • New items such as:
    • Mythical cape
    • Wrath runes
    • Dragonbone necklace
    • Superior dragon bones
    • Ava’s assembler (with Vorkath’s head)
    • Skeletal visage / Dragonfire ward
    • Dragon crossbow / bolts
    • Dragon kite shield
    • Dragon platebody
  • As well as content such as:
    • Surge spells
    • Wrath altar
    • Myth’s guild
    • Rune / Adamant dragons

As you can see, it is quite a large update, so there is plenty of new content for us to work with, and a lot to look forward to!

We thought this was the perfect time to take a bit of a different approach and add a new quest to Alora rather than simply adding the content. Doing this, of course, takes slightly longer to do than simply releasing the Vorkath boss fight, the Rune/Adamant dragons and the Myth’s guild, but we believe it will be more enjoyable this way, and we’ll be simultaneously fulfilling the many suggestions received for a brand new quest. It won’t be identical to OSRS’ version for obvious reasons, but we’ll do our best to make it just as entertaining :)

We’re aiming to have this done within the next 10-14 days if possible.

In the meantime, enjoy this update and keep an eye out on progress in the near future! Here’s a quick sneak peak of what to expect for the next update :)

General updates:

  • Combat changes:
    • Fixed tricky combat bug:
      • If two players are fighting each other and are both red-barred (1hp), and player 1 attacks player 2 as player 2 is teleporting away, of course player 2 will not take damage, but if player 2 has vengeance active, they will not take any damage but player 1 will take the vengeance recoil, causing player 1 to die.
        • Recoils/vengeance on players who are in the process of teleporting will no longer work.
          • This also applies to phoenix necklace, barrows armour stat reducing effects, poison, etc. (will not work if the damage player is in the process of teleporting)
    • Risk protection changes:
      • Minimum risk amount to be able to attack anyone (regardless of their risk vs yours) is 2.5m gp (risked, meaning items kept on death do not count towards this 2.5m requirement).
        • This amount was previously 7.5m but we have lowered it as the risk protection system is mostly in place to prevent hardcore ragging with no risk, but a player with 2.5m risk should definitely be able to attack any player that they want to in the wilderness.
    • Dragon claw special attack buff:
      • The accuracy (chance of hitting on any 4 of the attacks) of the claws’ special attack has been considerably increased.
    • Armadyl godsword special attack buff:
      • The accuracy of the AGS special attack has been considerably increased.
    • Saradomin god sword special attack fix:
      • Previously, the special attack would not heal you or restore your prayer if you hit 0.
        • The special attack will now always heal at least 10 hitpoints and restore 5 prayer points (default if you hit less than 22 damage).
    • Fixed a bug with XP drops:
      • If you used a special attack weapon with 2 hits but 1 XP drop (eg. Dragon dagger special) and the first hit was a 0, the XP drop would not show until the next hitsplat. This has been patched.
    • PJ timer in Edgeville reduced:
      • ~5 second timer for most of wilderness  (unchanged)
      • ~8 second timer for Edgeville only (reduced by 2 seconds from 10 seconds)
    • Dragon spear special attack fixes:
      • Fix Dragon spear special attack retaliation:
        • If someone attacked you with a Dragon spear and you attacked them back, you would get skulled. This has been fixed and you will no longer be skulled upon retaliation.
      • Push direction:
        • The direction which the target is pushed into was incorrect. It should now push them in the opposite direction of the attacker.
  • Giant mole changes:
    • Glitch fix:
      • The mole would sometimes get stuck in a wall after digging underground. This should no longer occur.
    • Wyson the Gardener Mole skin/claws exchange rate:
      • As requested by the community, the exchange rate for mole skins/claws has been heavily boosted.
        • Previously:
          • 20 skins = 1 bird’s nest
          • 10 claws = 1 bird’s nest
        • Updated:
          • 3 skins = 1 bird’s nest
          • 2 claws = 1 bird’s nest
      • Increased chance to get a good nest (clue / god egg) from Wyson by nearly 30%.
      • FAQ:
        • Why not update to 1:1 as it is in OSRS?
          • On OSRS, the nests that are given by Wyson never contain Bird’s eggs or Clue scroll nests. On Alora, God eggs are a possibility making the nests from Wyson more valuable which means we need to adjust the rate a little bit.
            • If requested by players, we can remove the god egg / clue nests from Wyson and make it a 1:1 exchange, but keep in mind that these god eggs can allow you to obtain Evil chicken suit pieces which are relatively rare and tradable.
  • Crystal halberd imbuement:
    • Crystal halberd can now be imbued through an imbuement scroll.
      • The imbued version of the halberd provides the following benefits over the regular version:
        • +2 Strength bonus
        • +3 Prayer bonus
    • The Crystal halberd (i) can no longer be purchased from the Slayer reward shop.
  • New QOL commands:
    • ::hs <name>
      • Will take you directly to a player’s hiscores page
        • You can still type the command normally (::hs, ::highscores, ::hiscores) to be taken to the main page if you do not want to input a specific player’s name.
    • Staff commands:
      • (See below)
  • Slayer changes:
    • Slayer fixes:
      • Baby blue dragons now count towards Blue dragon Slayer tasks.
      • Baby red dragons now count towards Red dragon Slayer tasks.
      • You can no longer receive Superior slayer encounters in the Grotesque Guardian instances (they could appear after killing Dawn or Dusk which is not intended).
    • New tasks:
      • Barrows brothers can now be assigned as a Hard slayer task (18-64 assigned)
        • Each brother killed counts towards this task, rather than each chest opened.
  • Gem rock mining buff:
    • Gem rocks now last 3x as long before running out of ore.
    • Gem rocks will now give Opals/Jades far less often.
      • Gem rocks will now give all other gems more commonly to make up for the reduction in Opals/Jades.
  • Quality of Life abbreviations:
    • To make searching for items/NPCs easier, we’ve added the following abbreviations:
      • NPC drop searching:
        • Mole = Giant mole
        • Zam (as well as the previously accepted “Zamorak/zammy”) = K’ril Trutsaroth
      • Trading post item searching:
        • Gmaul = Granite maul
        • Tsotd = Toxic staff of the dead
        • AGS = Armadyl godsword
        • SGS = Saradomin godsword
        • ZGS = Zamorak godsword
        • BGS = Bandos godsword
        • ACB = Armadyl crossbow
        • BCP = Bandos chestplate
        • DFS = Dragonfire shield
  • F2P Shop update:
    • Pizza has been added to the F2P shop (only the non-ironman version of the shop).
  • Barbarian assault icons are now tradable.
    • Includes: Attacker, Collector, Defender and Healer icons
  • Lunar spell book update: Flax Spin spell:
    • The flax spin spell is now functional!
      • You must have a Magic level of 76 to perform this spell.
      • Up to 5 flax will be turned into bowstrings upon casting this spell. If you have less in your inventory, it will spin as many as you have.
  • Edgeville PvP added:
    • You can now fight other players in the Edgeville PvP area!
      • You can reach this area by typing ::edgepvp or using the Teleport wizard and clicking on the PvP teleports (will place you inside the bank)
      • Features:
        • There are no targets here.
        • There is no risk protection here.
        • The only safe-zone here is within the bank.
        • You can attack any other player who’s level is within 15 of your own.
        • You can still receive PKPoints for killing other players here.
        • The map is classic Edgeville (without the home area’s custom edits)
          • The only differences here being that the Well of Goodwill, as well as a tree north of the bank have both been removed.
          • The wilderness ditch, as well as the trapdoors around the map have all been disabled.
            • With that being said, ladders around Edgeville can still be used.
  • ::skull/::skullme commands added:
    • These commands, as the title intends, will skull you if you type them into your chatbox. You will be first shown an “Are you sure you wish to do this?” confirmation dialogue with a yes/no option before skulling.
  • Cleaning cloth is now available:
    • Use this item on any imbued items (eg. Berserker ring (i)) to unimbue them. Keep in mind you will not get back the imbuement scroll! Same goes for any painted items (eg. Green Dark bow), you will not get the pain back.
    • How to obtain:
      • Regular/Ironmen/classic can both purchase this item from their respective General/Supply shops.
    • Example items:
      • Fremennik rings
      • Crystal halberd, Granite ring, Salve amulet, Slayer staff, Wilderness rings, etc
      • Ornamented items (eg. Dragon defender, Occult necklace, Dark bows, etc)

Bug fixes / miscellaneous updates:

  • Banking fix if bank is full:
    • Previously, if your bank was full, you could not deposit more of items that you already have in your bank. You can now deposit existing items without the error message.
  • Ring of Life / Defence skullcap fix:
    • A major bug with these items caused them to teleport you home instantly when attacked, even with high hitpoints. This has been fixed and the items should operate as intended.
  • Event manager rank collars changed on the forums and in-game.
  • Christmas event + Giveaway have been removed:
    • Christmas mesh net / barrel bomb have been removed.
      • Unfortunately the mesh net was a temporary item and OSRS has removed it from their cache.
        • Anyone holding these items from the Christmas event will now be holding a piece of cabbage instead.
  • Fletching bug fixed:
    • Fixed a bug that allowed you to fletch very quickly.
  • Godwars dungeon aggression distance:
    • Minions within the boss chambers would often ignore players and not attack them after a certain distance.
      • All minions within these chambers will now be aggressive throughout the whole room and attack any players who are within the room.
        • This also applies to instanced rooms.
  • Raids changes:
    • Muttadile healing has been nerfed:
      • Mostly intended to make solo raids easier, Muttadiles will now heal less HP and have less time to heal.
        • With this change, Muttadiles also heal slightly less on team raids, but it will likely not be as noticeable.
  • Killtime record fix:
    • A bug when determining whether your fight with a boss was a team fight or a solo fight has been fix.
      • Previously, if the boss hit you first and you had Vengeance or a Ring of recoil on, the recoil or veng would be the first thing to damage the boss, meaning your kill time would not count as a solo record and would not be logged. This has been fixed, and recoil/veng will no longer mess up your kill times.
  • Boss failed retaliation bug:
    • Sometimes, certain bosses would cease to attack players whatsoever (eg. Bandos, Giant mole, etc).
      • I believe that this bug has now been patched, but since it is difficult to reproduce, there is a possibility that the fix did not work. In this case, please re-report this bug and I will look into it further.
  • Item changes:
    • Wise old man’s santa hat is now tradable.
    • Santa suit (regular) is now tradable.
    • Iban’s staff now requires 50 Attack and 50 Magic to wield.
    • Pharaoh’s sceptre can now be claimed by ironmen/classic from their collection boxes.
  • Demonic gorilla fixes:
    • Demonic gorillas safe spots have been patched.
    • They can no longer switch prayers as quickly as they could before. The delay between their prayer switches has been doubled to make them easier to fight.
  • Item TP values fixed:
    • Strength potions (1-4)
    • Imbued Fremennik rings (Berserker, Warriors, Seers, Archer) now all have a proper item value.
  • Prayer fix:
    • A bug with prayer which could be exploited through Banshees and other prayer-reducing NPCs has been patched (negative/unlimited prayer).
  • ::watchbr bug:
    • Fixed a bug where you could ::watchbr from an instance (eg. Kraken room) and then when you stopped watching you’d be in someone else’s instance.

Staff updates:

  • UUID banning:
    • Staff members will now be able to ban problematic players with a more secure method, through their computer’s UUID. This cannot be easily changed the way as a MAC address can and is unique to your computer using the serial number of your BIOS chip.
      • Commands:
        • ::uuidban / ::muuidban (manual)
        • ::liftuuidban or ::removeuuidban or ::unuuidban
        • ::getuuid
        • UUID will also now show/link players on usage of ::ru (For Global moderator+)
    • The staffCP has also been updated to allow viewing/searching of UUIDs in logs.
  • Punishment note system:
    • Staff members can now leave notes on bans/mutes/jails/mutes/ipmutes/etc.
      • When handing out a punishment, the staff member will be asked if they’d like to leave a note for future reference and for other staff to see.
      • (See below for command)
  • New staff commands:
    • ::scp <name>
      • Will open a player’s staff CP page
        • You can type ::scp without a username to be taken to the main panel to manually search.
    • ::logs <name>
      • Will open a player’s log history
        • You can type ::logs without a username to be taken to the global logs page.
    • ::punishments or ::punish <name>
      • Will open an interface showing all of the player’s current/previous punishments, as well as any notes left by the staff member who punished them.
        • Note: Pay attention to the names on the list, if you search for “Omi”, punishments for both “Omicron” and “Omipure”), for example, could show up.

Forum updates:

  • @Mention button added on every post near the edit/report/quote buttons.
    • Clicking this button will automatically add @Username into the post reply box, and will also scroll you down to the bottom of the topic where the reply box is making it convenient in longer topics.
  • Shoutbox rejuvenation:
    • Using @[name] within the shoutbox will now properly format usernames with group colours and add a link to their profile.
    • Tiny profile pictures now appear next to usernames in the shout box.
    • BBCode is now allowed in the shoutbox. Examples:
      • Using for bold text
      • Using for italic text
      • Using for URLs
      • Using for coloured text backgrounds
      • Using [color=blue] for coloured text
      • Using to use specific fonts
      • … and many more!

Master Donator Rank

  • The Master Donator (rainbow) rank is now available!
    • This is the most prestigious rank on Alora, with unique benefits not available to any of the other donator classes.
      • Any player who has opened 500 or more bonds or donated in excess of $5000 will be granted this rank! This makes it a highly elusive rank which will likely not be seen often.
    • Forum effect:
      • One of the most notable features of the Master donator is the color-changing effect of the username as well as the post background to match the color of the website.
    • Standard benefits (upgraded versions of the lower donator rank benefits:
      • All Uber (and below) donator benefits mostly one-upped, including:
        • 35% chance of rare loot from Clue scrolls

#128387 One Year Of Alora

Posted by Omicron on 04 November 2017 - 11:20 AM

logo_bday@2x.png

Thanks to @Chase as always for designing the logo!

Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone,

Today is an exciting day, as it officially marks an entire year since Alora was released! Some of you were around even earlier than that, as we opened the forums sometime in July of that year, but for all intents and purposes we’ll consider November 4th, 2016 as the official release date.

It has been quite the exciting year, with many ups and downs, and much to my surprise, we’ve managed to build an incredible community in such a short time. Never did I anticipate Alora eventually becoming what is, in my opinion, the greatest community of players on any RSPS that I have seen in my many years of affiliation with RSPS. We wouldn’t be where we are right now if it weren’t for the loyalty and support that you guys have consistently given over the past year (and more in some cases).

Even when things got rough, through DDoS attacks, exploits and downtime in the early stages, each and every one of you has pushed through those times and did not give up on us, and we’d like to thank you for that. I’d also like to give a huge thank you to the staff team (and previous staff members) who have given their all to moderate the community and ensure that toxicity and negativity don’t drag down the community, your work is highly appreciated and has provided the foundation for what Alora has become.

With that being said, I’d like to congratulate everyone on one year of Alora, and hopefully many more to come! As long as the community is still spending their time around here, we’ll keep making the experience better and better. Your support makes us want to work harder and make it an even better place for you to hang around. :)

Note: An in-game Birthday event will be released later today, so keep an eye out ;)

Best regards,

Omicron

goodday everyone

the suggestion is that the locations of rigour and augury can be swapped with mystic might and eagle eye position like the konduit client has on oldschool runescape

#116707 Development Blog #5: Construction Preview

Posted by Omicron on 11 September 2017 - 09:23 AM

Hey guys,

Following the recent poll results where most of you said that you'd prefer to see construction in-game before Fossil island, we've shifted our focus entirely onto construction!

The core (saving, room configurations, object configurations, landscapes, etc) is mostly done, now we're onto the extra functionalities, such as make the glory amulets on the wall, incense burners, etc all work properly, as well as adding ways of obtaining these things in-game! It's a huge skill, and there's a whole lot to it, but I'm confident we'll be able to cover most of it on release and if we miss anything we'll add it soon after.

This video is intended to show that 90%+ of the rooms and objects are functional, as well as previewing the rooms before you build, removing rooms, etc.

It may look complete but we still have quite a bit of work to do, as well as testing, before we officially release this. We're not too far off though, and as it's now my primary focus it shouldn't be too long :)

Hopefully everyone's just as excited as we are to be this close to bringing you Alora's final skill :)

#113178 PVP Suggestions (much needed)

Posted by FASTCLICKS7 on 30 August 2017 - 08:03 AM

Allow to change new prayers positions with old prayers, due to many being used to using old prayers, and their placing on the spellbook is also a lot more efficient for hybrid/no honor style pking.

TB rework:

- TB Animation changed to osrs animation
- TB when thrown on you, you should be able while the animation is on-going, to throw up "protect from magic" and only get half tbed, but on here you get fulled if they are to throw it whilst not praying. I am not sure how long you have to do this, but I know for sure that it is like that on OSRS.

Dragon Claws rework:

- D claw spec animation changed to OSRS animation
- D claws seem to never hit, maybe a slight buff (idk)

Magic accuracy rework:

On Alora it seems like even casting with mystics is op, as it hits almost always, where as on OSRS it's normal to splash 5 times in a row. I think this needs to be taken a look at, as well as it's impossible to "splash" without hitting, which on OSRS is set at -65 magic to splash everything, where as on Alora with -75 magic accuracy you still hit. PERHAPS rework the whole formula.

This basically just shows how OP magics are on Alora.

Melee BUFF:

In the wilderness, what I have experienced is that tentacle whip almost never hits, where as melee is extremely OP on OSRS. Due to that, hybriding no honor'ers is nearly impossible due to the amount of damage you take, and the amount of damage you give does not support that.

Due to that usually when focusing a kill, many Alora PK'ers will magic the focus the entire time (sometimes) due to the extremely accurate magics on this game.

To counter this: NERF magics accuracy, Buff melee in itself.

PVP Risk Protection: It should be possible to skull on someone if you risk the amount skulled, without counting the +1 they might risk if they fick off protection prayers, and you should not have to skull up on someone else or on the emblem trader to skull, IF you risk the amount you need to skulled.

SWITCHING: I am not yet sure what the problem with switching is, but it seems like the ticks for the switched items to appear in your inventory is kind of out of order.

Some proof of this:

Very different isn't it?

- VENOM ADDED, including anti-venoms(+'s)

Venom adds another spice to pking, and is a BUILT in osrs function.

#109766 Classic Mode Announcement and Competition/Tournament (Over $350 in prize...

Classic Mode

With the massive support for Classic mode, and many of us still on Summer vacation, there’s no better time to release Classic mode than now! Lets dive right into it:

Classic mode is a game mode that is more challenging than other game modes — it has the lowest experience rate of any previous mode. It has trading restrictions like ironman modes, but here’s the kicker: Classic mode players can trade between each other, meaning a Classic-only economy will exist! This is a bit different than the usual Ironman mode which makes it slightly less of a solo game style.

We’re looking to release this game mode this weekend! The planned release date is 9:00 PM Eastern time on Saturday, August 19th!

FAQ:

  • What will be the experience rate?
    • 5x experience.
  • Will experience boosts (well of goodwill, wilderness bonuses, vote book bonuses, etc) apply to Classic mode accounts?
    • Most boosts will not be applicable to Classic mode players!
      • With that being said, vote books WILL grant extra experience, but can only be opened once every 12 hours.
  • Can I trade/stake other players?
    • You can only trade/stake other classic mode players. Of course, this means the Trading post is disabled for Classic mode players.
  • Will there be an icon in-game for Classic players?

Classic Mode Competition/Tournament

Huge thank to @uTorrent for organizing this event and coming up with the idea!

The release of Classic mode brings with it an exciting competition with huge prizes (Over $350 in cash, as well as many in-game prizes) to be won! To ensure that all players can participate, we have divided this competition into two sections:

  • Classic Competition ($150 prize):
    • The Classic competition is our way of rewarding the players who put the most effort into their Classic mode accounts. Here's how it works:
      • Point-based event:
      • This event will last 10 days from the release of Classic mode.
      • Assuming the release is on Saturday the 18th at 9pm, this means that the competitition will end on Monday, August 28th at 9pm.
    • Points are earned for the following achievements:
      • All recorded drops, monsters killed, total level, and experience gained throughout this time period will award points. The top three players with the most points at the stopping time win prizes!
    • Points earned for:
      • Rare drops:
      • Points are given based on drop rate. A whip with a D.R of 1/400 will award 400 points. Every consecutive whip gives 20% less points until 20% (20% is minimum).
      • There is a maximum of 2,000 points for any particular drop.
    • Achievements
    •          10 points per easy task completed
    •          45 points per hard task completed
    • Monsters killed:
      • One point per 10 NPCs killed
      • 8500 total NPCs killed / 10 = 850 points for monsters killed.
    • Total level:
      • For total level, 2 points will be awarded for every level obtained.
    • Number of 99s (combat and non-combat):
      300 points per 99.
    • Total experience:
      • For total experience, 10 points will be awarded per 1M experience obtained.
  • Notes:
    • For recorded drops, players MUST obtain proof (via picture/video) of the item(s) & record the date and server time (for proof).
      • Only high tiered items will be counted. For example, Leaf-bladed items would not be counted.
    • The points calculations are subject to change.
    • At the end of the week, players need to submit their own portfolio of rare drops/total levels/total experience. We will verify everything on our end to make sure that no player has cheated.
  • Rewards:
    • 1st Place:
      • $150 in cash OR $200 worth in tokens
    • 2nd Place:
      • 600 tokens OR 6 bonds
    • 3rd Place:
      • 400 tokens OR 4 bonds
  • Classic PvP Tournament ($200 prize):
    • Similar to the Ironman tournament we held months ago, this tournament will open for registration a few days before it is held, and players will battle it out in a fight-to-the-death until only one competitor remains! This type of battle will be very interesting to watch, as we will see what style of combat players will choose and which items they have brought to the battle after their week long grind. The last man standing will take the full $200 prize, although 2nd and 3rd places will receive alternative prizes as shown below:
      • 1st Place:
      • $200 in cash OR $250 worth of tokens
    • 2nd Place:
      • 800 tokens OR 8 bonds
    • 3rd Place:
      • 500 tokens OR 5 bonds
  • Rules:
    • The tournament will be 1v1 brackets. You must be registered before it begins.
    • You are limited to 9 Saradomin brews. Inventories will be checked before you fight, and you will be forced to stay within this limit.
      • We want the tournament to be fair and for the fights to last a reasonable amount of time, but not to take hours.
    • These rules are subject to change before the tournament begins.
      • A separate tournament thread will be created once registration opens.
  • Our very own @Lowkey will be live-streaming and commentating the event, so you can watch it all unfold live!
  • Schedule:
    • Tournament registration is undetermined, but will be announced soon. A new thread will be posted soon after the Classic mode release this weekend, wherein we will announce the exact time for the tournament.
    • As a rough estimate, it will be the weekend immediately after release (Between August 25-27) and will likely be held on the 27th of August.

Note: These two competitions are completely separate and you could choose to participate in one of them, both, or neither.

We hope you're as excited for this competition and game mode as we are, and we wish the best of luck to all who choose to participate in the competition/tournament.

#96329 Huge PKing Update (List of PKing Suggestions)

Posted by MADASFUK on 03 July 2017 - 12:01 PM

Highrisking Area:

Pretty simple, an area (e.g. ::edgepvp, which is added but currently has no purpose) where the protect item prayer is disabled for people that want to do highrisk fights. Also maybe disable the use of overhead prayers here.

Complete PKP Shop rework:

Currently the PKP shop is extremely outdated and practically useless. The prices are all off (e.g. ags is 18k PKP, Torture is 9K however torture is currently more expensive.) My suggestion is to fill the pkp shop with items that are not easily obtainable through PVM/Common PK items to make the PKP shop have an actual purpose. Im not entirely sure what these items could be, but as an example things like:

- An x amount anglerfish pack

- Dharoks armor set

- Common untradeable PK items (Dragon defender, Fighter Torso/Hat, Fire cape) I know these are already in there but maybe lower the prices, 3.5k for a fire cape has no purpose since it takes 1/5 of the time of that to just go and get a fire cape.

- Some cosmetics only obtainable through PKing (For bragging rights or w.e)

Obviously these are just a few suggestions and just examples.

(PLEASE SUGGEST MORE I CANT THINK OF GOOD IDEAS)

- Change the cost of ring imbuement from 3500 to 2500 (3500 just seems a bit too much for a single ring imbuement).

- When turning in a tier 10 emblem to the PKP Shop, add a small (25%?) Chance of getting a random item from the PKP shop along with the PKP and Cash rewards

Deep Wild/High Risk PKP Rewards:

Possibly make it so you get more pkp (e.g. extra 50%)for Pking at either:

- Hotspots (Mage bank, Ardy Lever, Resource area, Chaos elemental, etc.)

Or

- Anywhere above x wilderness(Perhaps 30 since this is max tele spot)

Also more PKP for killing somebody with atleast High+ risk above 30 wilderness(This will generally mean that they are not a skiller and an actual pker, obviously with some exceptions).

Quality of Life Target System:

An option for PKers to alter their target system so they get no targets with "very low" (or whatever they want to change it to) risk, this both stops pkers getting annoyed by getting "very low" risk targets which reward no PKP/Emblem upgrades and stops skillers getting annoyed by pkers coming and killing them for nothing.

Risk Protection:

-Risk Protection:

Players with say less than 1m Risk cannot attack players with more than 1m risk outside of edgeville, players with under 20m risk cannot attack players over 20m etc. This makes deep wild ragging practically impossible (Thanks chris for suggestion.)

Other Small Updates/Bugs:

- Dark bow spec seems to hit through prayer (I got hit 44-38 on range prayer, Yes i was praying, I checked. Also i've seen hits with a dark bow way above what it should hit on prayer.)

- Zamorak Flames castable with SOTD

- Combination runes (Thanks Smoked for last 2 suggestions)

I WILL UPDATE THIS WHEN I THINK OF MORE THINGS, PLEASE SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE YOU THINK WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. FEEDBACK APPRECIATED.

#94861 [6/29/17] Alora Infographic // Inferno fixes

Posted by Omicron on 28 June 2017 - 10:38 PM

Hey guys,

As we near an incredible 8 months of Alora, I decided that it would be fun to create an infographic with all kinds of Alora statistics, with the help of our new graphics designer @Slyther. We hope you find it as interesting as we did :)

Today's update fixes most, if not all of the reported bugs within the Inferno. Particularly, the dreaded bug where you have to run up to the final wave NPCs (as well as having them walk around and getting in your way) has been patched.

  • Inferno fixes:
    • Fixed HP resetting to full when you relog on a wave.
    • Pillar/nibbler changes:
      • Pillars will now always spawn in the same locations. I thought that they were random, but this has proven to be incorrect.
      • Nibblers will now always spawn in the centre.
        • They will target any pillar, not the nearest pillar as they did before.
      • Previously, one nibbler would always attack a player instead of the pillar. This has been fixed.
    • Triple jad wave changes (68):
      • A bug previously caused the 2/3 jads to rarely attack back after the first had been killed.
    • Final wave changes (69):
      • Distraction enemies:
        • Jad can no longer attack with melee on the final wave.
        • You will no longer run up to the spawns on the final wave.
          • Technically, you can now range/mage the npcs in the room in the final wave from almost anywhere without running up close to them, and they should also not move when attacking you.
      • Shield changes:
        • The shield moved 1 square too far to the east, this has been fixed.
        • The shield will now “glow” red when it absorbs the fireball from the boss to let you know you are safe. (I missed this when watching videos of the fight initially)
      • TzKal-Zuk changes:
        • TzKal-Zuk’s attack speed has been increased by 1 tick (0.6 seconds) to match OSRS.
        • TzKal-Zuk can now be seen from the far eastern corner:
          • Previously, a bug would cause the boss to go invisible at the far right corner.
      • Fixed bug where you wouldn’t receive your Infernal cape.
      • Infernal cape will now go to the lost items shop and can be bought back for 2.5m

  • Firemaking object fixed:
    • The data update we did a few days ago had changed the ID of fires in the game. This has been corrected.
  • Miscellaneous fixes:
    • Fixed enemies attacking from different floors
      • Eg. Attacking from on on top of the Grand exchange
    • Gnome goggles slot fixed
    • Dragon sword requirements fixed (40 -> 60 attack)
    • System updates can now be cancelled/extended:
      • The other day we accidentally pushed out a 30 second update rather than 5 minutes (30 instead of 300 in the chatbox), which prompted us to add a command to cancel a pending update.
    • Crafting snakeskin items would require the wrong amount of items (less than required) after the first craft. This has been fixed.
    • Clan chat name bug fixed.
      • No longer allowed to use solely special symbols in your clan chat name. (Eg. “#” as the name)
      • <img> tags will no longer be allowed in Clan chat names.
  • Elysian spirit shield “effect” indicated
    • When your Elysian effect kicks in to reduce damage, a blue swirl graphic will appear around your character.
  • Dragon claws special attack fixed:
    • Previously, special attacking someone through Melee protection prayer was bugged.
  • Performance changes:
    • As some of you may have noticed, our previous server uptime was over 4 days!
      • Typically, Alora starts to experience lag after a certain number of days (less than 4), and our monitoring shows that we’ve made significant improvements and fixed some core issues that were causing this lag.
        • This means the server can remain online for longer without the need to reset simply for lag.

Enjoy! Goodluck to all of you who are going for an Infernal cape :)

The Inferno, Combat Changes & More!

June 24, 2017

Hotfixes:

Fixed bugs:

  • Fight caves fixed:
    • Regular fight caves was kicking people out. This has been patched.
  • News message saying that players had completed the Inferno when they die has been fixed.
  • Obsidian plate body turning into Granite when banking has been fixed.
  • Normal fight caves have been fixed (would kick you out)
  • Mechanic changes:
    • Sometimes, Range/Mage NPCs would be able to attack you through the pillar.
      • This has been patched.
  • NPCs spawning in bad locations:
    • Sometimes, NPCs would spawn partially inside the pillar. This should no longer happen.
  • Wave 68 (Triple Jad changes):
    • Attack speed has been increased.
  • Pillars now collapse on wave 67 instead of wave 68.
  • Fixed Inferno entrance no clipping if you were far away.
  • Fire max cape support:
    • Entering Mor-Ul-Rek is now possible by showing a Fire Max cape.
    • Entering the Inferno is now possible by sacrificing a Fire Max cape. If you have both capes in your inventory, though, it will prioritize the Fire cape.
  • Nibblers will now target the pillar they spawn closest to.
    • This should stop them from getting stuck when targeting a distant pillar.
  • TzHaar/Obsidian items no longer show up on rare drop yell.
  • Pillar health saving on re-log:
    • Pillars will no longer restore health to full if you re-log on a wave.
      • If they are dead, they will remain dead, otherwise they will come back with the same hit points on logout.

Updates:

  • F2P Shop changes:
    • An ironman-only version of Oziach’s shop with the Fancy boots and Fighting boots has been added.
    • The regular version of the shop with all of the F2P items will be shown to non-ironman players.
  • PvM record changes:
    • The “Boss record lectern” has been renamed to “PvM record lectern”
      • A 3rd option on this lectern has been added to list the total overall killcounts for ALL NPCs. The other two options for boss killcounts/times remain unchanged.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Raids tight-rope fixed:
      • Players should no longer get stuck on the tight-rope.
    • Donation collection box wait time reduced:
      • From 1 minute to 15 seconds
  • Trading post changes:
    • Listing confirmation:
      • After pressing the confirm button when listing an item, another window will show up asking you if you wish to confirm your offer (showing the price and quantity)
    • Your trading post can now hold more than 2.147b GP for you to claim.
      • It will show the full amount (eg. 10billion), but if the amount is > 2.147b when you try to claim, it will give you platinum instead.
      • The buy-all value for an item will now show platinum if over 2.147b. This does not mean you can use platinum to buy items on the trading post, though. It only means that the value will be correctly displayed.
  • Combat updates:
    • Major combat bonus calculation fix:
      • Thanks to @Dawarloch for the bug report!
      • When speccing with the Granite maul and switching weapons very quickly on the spec tick, you could potentially land a hit with the bonuses of the new item you equipped. (eg. Hitting very high after equipping Dharok’s axe right after gmaul spec — although it should have used the bonuses of your Granite maul)
        • This has been changed by reworking the way bonus calculations are made, and doing them on the same tick of the attack(animation), not the tick that the damage is taken. Of course, this also includes calculating your victim's defence bonuses which will be calculated earlier (when you do the animation, not when they take the hit)
          • This may have small implications on hybrid combat as well and should make damage more realistic as it is using the bonuses from the armour you were wearing when attacking and/or casting a spell.
            • This applies to all three combat styles.
          • With this being said, the protection prayer calculation has not been changed. It is calculated on a later tick, to give the victim a bit of time to throw up their protection prayer.
    • PJ timer corrected:
      • Reduced from 6 seconds to 3.6 seconds (6 ticks)
    • Void changes:
      • Void damage bonuses have been nerfed to 10% following the recent OSRS update.
      • Elite void now provides slightly more damage bonus than regular, at 12.5% to both accuracy and damage.
    • Magic combat update:
      • Multi-spell fixes:
        • When performing a multi-combat spell (eg. Ice Barrage) there was previously a delay before your spell hit the surrounding enemies. It should now be instant and hit them at the same time as the main target.
        • Previously, the extra enemies hit by a multi-spell would retaliate before the spell even hit them. This has been delayed.
      • “Un-freeze” bug
        • Previously, a bug allowed players to walk while frozen by using an item on something.
  • Data updates:
    • We have grabbed the latest data from OSRS, including:
      • NPCs, Animations and Graphics
      • Maps & Objects
        • Mor-Ul-Rek and the Inferno
      • Items
        • Obsidian armour, Infernal cape, etc.
  • Client fixes:
    • Mac client fix:
      • The client window on Mac will no longer be unnecessarily large.
        • This also fixes the empty black space at the bottom of the client on resizable mode.
    • Resizable FPS fix:
      • Some players on resizable mode were reporting low FPS — particularly those with the “transparent chatbox” setting on. This has been fixed and the FPS should be normal again.
    • Sky color fix for instances/wilderness:
      • Instances and caves (anywhere not above ground) should now have a black sky color as opposed to blue.
  • Mor-Ul-Rek and the Inferno:
    • The city of Mor-Ul-Rek is now available to be explored by those who are worthy enough!
      • To enter the city, you must show one of the guards your Fire cape to prove your worth!
        • Once you have done this once, you will be able to enter the city freely whenever you desire.
      • Obsidian armour can now be purchased for Tokkul in TzHaar-Hur-Zal’s Equipment Store.
        • Alternatively, it can be obtained as a rare drop from TzHaar-Kets.
        • When the set is fully equipped (plate body, platelegs and helmet), a 10% damage boost to melee accuracy and strength is applied to ALL obsidian weaponry. This stacks with the berserker necklace effect for a possible total of 30% increased damage with Obsidian melee weaponry.
  • The Inferno:
    • Outline:
      • Located at the centre of Mor-Ul-Rek, the Inferno is an extremely challenging battle that is not for the weak.
        • You must sacrifice a Fire cape to attempt it, but once you have sacrificed it once you can enter the Inferno as often as you desire.
      • NOTE: Upon entry, any Purple sweets in your inventory will melt.
    • Rewards:
      • Infernal cape:
        • If you make it through successfully, you will be awarded the exclusive Infernal cape!
          • This cape can also be combined with the Max cape to create the Infernal Max Cape.
      • Jal-Nib-Rek
        • A rare pet “nibbler” that can be obtained alongside the Infernal cape after completion.
      • JalRek-Jad
        • A custom pet that is unique to Alora, this pet can only be obtained by gambling your Infernal cape or through the webstore.
          • Due to the general dislike of the nibbler pet, we’ve decided to add an alternative, yet tasteful pet which, in our opinion, is more in-line with the type of reward the Inferno should provide.
    • Reward gambling:
      • You can speak to TzHaar-Ket-Keh near the Inferno entrance to gamble your existing cape:
        • You can gamble your cape for a slim chance at either the Jal-Nib-Rek pet, or an even slimmer chance at the JalRek-Jad.
    • Mechanics:
      • Pillars:
        • 3 pillars will be placed within The Inferno.
          • These will provide safe cover from enemies within the cave.
          • The locations of these pillars are randomized within 3 corners every single time a player enters The Inferno.
            • Nibblers will target them to try to collapse the pillars — therefore catching aggro for Nibblers early on is crucial for survival.
          • These pillars will collapse before wave 68.
      • Wave enemies:
        • Jal-Kek
          • Uses all 3 attack styles
          • Splits into 3 minions on death — each in their own attack style
        • Jal-ImKot
          • Burrow mechanic:
            • If a Jal-ImKot cannot reach the player, it will burrow into the ground and reappear next to the player to attack them.
        • Jal-MejRah
          • Drain 3 run energy per hit — as opposed to prayer drain as in fight caves
        • Jal-Zek
          • Attacks with Magic
      • Wave 68:
        • Three JalTok-Jads are spawned surrounding the you, and in a clock-wise order they will sequentially attack you. There is about ~3 ticks of time in between their attacks for you to switch prayers accordingly.
      • Wave 69:
        • The final and most challenging wave consists of a tricky battle between yourself and TzKal-Zuk, the final boss in the Inferno.
          • Essentially, you must hide behind the Ancestral Glyph (the floating shield) which moves back and forth along the lava.
            • If you are not behind this shield, or if it is killed, you can get one-hit by the boss quite easily.
              • Periodically, enemies will spawn and target the shield to take it down. It is in your best interest to get these enemies to aggro you rather than the shield to save it.
          • You must juggle attacking the boss, surviving against enemies (including another JalTok-Jad), and hiding behind the shield simultaneously to defeat this boss.
      • Extras:
        • Jad magic/range sounds have been added
        • Inferno music has been added, as well as the soundtrack for Mor-Ul-Rek!
        • Your TzKal-Zuk killcount/killtime will be recorded on the PvM Lectern.
  • Fight caves changes:
    • Normal TzTok-Jad fixes:
      • The combat mechanics/timers for regular Jad were highly inaccurate:
        • Both the magic/range delays have been matched to OSRS.
        • Projectiles and graphics have also been synched with the damage, so you get hit as soon as the fireball/range attack hits your character and not 1 tick after.
    • Fixed Fight caves (and other mini games) “escape”
      • There was previously a way to leave the mini-game while still being considered part of it, this has been fixed.
    • Pet gambling has been made easier:
      • There is now a higher chance to get the Ket-Rek pet from gambling your Fire cape.
  • Website update:
    • Our website logo/main background have been updated for The Inferno release!
  • Battle Royale changes:
    • Death mechanics changed in Battle Royale:
      • Your killstreak/KDR will be untouched.
        • This also applies to you if you die, you will not lose your kill streak or ruin your KDR.
      • The Wilderness scoreboard will no longer log your kill/death.
      • You will no longer receive PKP.
  • New command teleports added (Thanks to @Hexza for the suggestion)
    • ::pc
      • Takes you to pest control.
    • ::fish
      • Takes you to the fishing guild.
    • ::wc
      • Takes you to the woodcutting guild.
  • Store update:
    • JalRek-Jad has been added!
      • Cost: 2000 tokens
      • Untradable
      • This pet is only obtainable through the shop OR by gambling your Infernal cape, but the Jal-Nib-Rek (nibbler pet) must be obtained in-game.

#93061 Regarding Recent Hackings

Posted by Haris on 22 June 2017 - 08:15 PM

Hey guys,

It has come to our attention that some users have been getting hacked in the past 24 hours. We've come to find out that another big RSPS has had their database compromised. It's an unfortunate circumstance to be in but in light of this information, we're HIGHLY recommending users change their passwords and enable 2FA if you haven't already.

When changing your password, we recommend you choose something new and unique that you haven't used before. As players that use the same one on multiple servers are more vulnerable to these situations. If you need help activating your 2FA, you can find our guide that we have here http://www.alora.io/...tication-guide/ .Once that's activated and your password changed, your account will be as secure as it possibly can be.

For players that don't know how to change their password, you can find it in your User CP settings.

kLD-zBKxQGSThhTMagKf1Q.png

Once you go on your settings, you go to 'Email & Password'. From there you can change your password, and your email if you wish to.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM myself or any of our Staff Members that are online at the time.

The following rules were added on Alora recently:

10. Bug Abuse

Abuse of a bug or glitch that allows a member to somehow have an advantage over another member or the server itself is not tolerated. We strive to better Alora each and every day. In doing so, we ask all members to report any bugs or glitches as soon as they are found; if tampered with after, a permanent ban will be issued.

• a. Boss manipulation is the flagrant act of maneuvering a boss into a position where it cannot properly perform its functions and/or mechanics. Wrongdoers will serve one hour in jail, followed by 5 hours in jail, with the ending result being a permanent ban.

9. Multi-Logging

The activity of multi-logging is not against the rules of Alora, as we do allow players to be logged in on multiple accounts at once. However, multi-logging with clear intention for personal advantage will result in accounts being terminated. We strive to maintain an environment in which all players do not have an exponential advantage over others by partaking in the same activity while logged in on both accounts.

The update that came 6/15/17 was a huge one! The following were added;

Killcount Milestone Bonuses:

When reaching 100 kills for any bosses, that drop will have a 5% better chance at loot. On your 500th kill you’ll have a 25% better chance. This % caps out at 33%, so after you’ve reached the 750 milestone it’ll always be 33% increased chance.

Free-To-Play Shop has been added which contains the following items;

Full rune, Fancy boots, Fighting boots, Rune scimitar, Rune battle axe, Rune 2H, Full green d'hide, Amulet of strength & Amulet of power, Coif, Swordfish, Lobster, Normal strength potion, Adamant arrows, Maple shortbow

Snakeskin crafting:

Using a needle on a piece of Snakeskin(while having thread in your inventory) will allow you to craft: Snakeskin body, chaps, vambraces, bandana or boots.

Over the past couple of weeks there have been some coming and goings. The following changes have been made to the team. I'm sure you'll all join me in welcoming the new members to the team as well as thanking past staff members for their efforts.

Error has been promoted to Administrator.

Mewtwo has been promoted to Server Moderator.

Ramon has been promoted to Server Moderator.

Poor Level 3 has been promoted to Server Support.

Sheep has been promoted to Global Moderator.

Diva has been promoted to Forum Moderator. We'd like to welcome them back to the staff team, they did a great job in the past and I doubt it will be any different this time.

Lapis Lazuli has been promoted to Server Moderator.

Kenpachi has been promoted Server Support.

Unfortunately there have been some demotons & resignations

6ixkid has resigned from Server Moderator.

I just can has been demoted from Server Support due to inactivity. We'll see where he went when he comes back and work from there.

Scenery has been demoted from his Forum Moderator position.

Collerkar76 has resigned from Global Moderator. We'd like to take a moment to say that Jake has done a lot for Alora, and helping us thrive for the betterment of Alora. It is also likely that we can see them return in the future!

Tabor has been demoted and banned, due to scamming a member of our community. No other details will be said about this.

Freezed has been demoted due to trying to leverage their Alora staff position for a position on another big server, and trying to move to a competitor while being staff on another server puts a bad taste in both server's mouths.

L E O N has been demoted due to inactivity.

This week I've decided to Interview 1 staff member and 2 members from the community I hope you guys enjoy what they had to say!

The first person I interview is Sheep!

Twist bows: Who inspires you?

Sheep: I would say my dad, pretty standard answer but can't think of anyone else. He's a great man, loyal, funny dry *ss humor and supportive.

Twist bows: Who do you aspire to be like?

Sheep: Can't really say that I really am trying to be like someone, just being my self and hate fake people, just be yourself that's good enough.

Twist bows: Tell me about the best vacation you’ve ever taken.

Sheep: We went to Egypt six times in total two times to the same park, it was amazing. I was like 12/13 years old back then and the people were amazing, mostly the life guards at the water slide, great people. Was a big park with private houses, a lot of pools, pizza stores, all in exclusive. All I can say is, amazing... Can't imagine going to a better hotel. My parents also talked with some life guards due to my brother and me and then there was this life guard that wanted to smuggle Vodka out of the park, we obviously did it because he gave us permission to go to the tennis court for 30 minutes! lol... It was hot so it wasn't that nice as expected, we did smuggle it outside and it was hilarious. The next year he recognized us and wanted to do it again, we didn't do it that time. x) Just wanted to share this because it's pretty hilarious.

Twist bows: What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

Sheep: At our neighbors they had a home made cable slide, car or how you name it. This rope from one point to another where you have to sit on a rope with some chair on it... can't come up with the name, well what happened. I went on there, it was pretty high, there was a rope from the chair that would touch the ground, I was like 6 at that time and my brother was 7/8. I hopped on the chair thing and my brother grappled the rope and then I fell off and fell on my arm, bone was sticking out, if I fell wrong it would've killed me :o big *ss lumb on my arm, (my bone) cried like a b*tch, mum heard me and ran to me and saw it and kinda crapped her pants because it looked horrible, went to the hospital got a operation and they made a cast and after that cast they stitched it and got this big scar on my arm, will be there for live.

Twist bows: If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

Sheep: A girl, don't ask me why, you know it...

Twist bows: How did you find Alora & what is your favorite thing about it?

Sheep: I found it at runelocus, I always have these random moments as most staff know and I felt like playing RSPS again after 6 months or a year. Without knowing the in game version came out on 4th of November, I joined 11th of November, played a month in silence, met a guy named @Strato he went for staff, got it eventually after he got staff I went for it and we still here. Favorite thing about the server is the community, very friendly and helpful.

Twist bows: What are your hobbies in real life?

Sheep: Gaming, hanging with friends, chill on my own, mowing the lawn.

Twist bows: Do you prefer PVMING or Gambling?

Sheep: Gambling, PVM'ing isn't really for me, kinda boring, staking is more my thing, stressing out when the duel starts but that's what makes it fun.

Twist bows: What your Alora experience like?

Sheep: It's great, met some awesome people in the staff team, also some ex staff, still talk to them, also a lot of the players. It's a great community with a great, kind owner and it's definitly the best server I've ever played.

Twist bows: If you could meet up with anyone in the world who would it be?

Sheep: Would be funny to see everyone in real life from staff team, @Lowkey skinny ass, but doubt it's going to happen... not really have to see anyone, maybe like a nice rock band from back in the days like Queen if that was possible or Oasis, those real classic rock bands.

Twist bows: You're the new Global Moderator on our team how are you liking it?

Sheep: It's great, started from the bottom now I'm here. Been exactly 7 months till I got this title so definitely enjoying it because this was really my goal, and worked my ass off for it, been some times when I was down and felt like resigning but I don't like to quit or resign in the end, really loyal and want to stick to the end. In a few weeks vacation starts so will be more in-game to do my duties.

Twist bows: What are your current goals as a Global moderator?

Sheep: Just to stay active, helpful, friendly and professional. Also to fulfill my duties in the background. My next goal would be administrator but that goal is mission impossible, going to be extremely hard, but still will go for it because I like a challenge.

Twist bows: Do you believe you need to improve on anything?

Sheep: At the moment activity in-game but that would definitely go up after my internship, 7 months ago I was immature af, believe I actually changed and become professional in handling things, feeling good about the future and can only say in-game activity at the moment.

Well thanks sheep for giving us this great story!

Next on our list is Scenery!

Twist bows: Who inspires you?

Scenery: I've many inspirations for many reasons. Lately I've been dappling in FL Studio making sick new beats which are actually subpar right now but hey its progress. Donald Glover aka the rap god is who I owe thanks to for this.
Also when I was part of the staff team a good majority if not all of them slowly helped me better myself personality wise as well as gave me the push to do better with my life. Ya'll know who you are.

Twist bows: Who do you aspire to be like?

Scenery: This question is just as vague as the typical elementary school question 'What do you want to be when you grow up?' I'm still working on what I want in life. I also want to be as rich as Lowkey one day...

Twist bows: Tell me about the best vacation you’ve ever taken?

This was around my 18th birthday. My dad took me to go get my passport and once I recieved it I decided to just go on a nomadic kind of adventure into the states. I made it as far as Ohio then I lost my passport at the bus station. I paniced and went to security and they must've thought I was sketch and so they called the cops and they picked me up to question me. Ultimately they didn't believe I lost my passport and deported me back to CA. Fun times. Oh and the passport? It was in my pants that I had packed away.

Twist bows: What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

Scenery: My sister kicked the fuck out of me right in my face when we were younger. It was the summer of 200x and it was the final night of Monday night smack down. All combatants entered the trampoline ring and the referees secured the nets so as few bodies flew out as possible. She grabbed my leg as i was jumping and the momentum flung her upside down and her heel smashed me right in the eyeball. I now have a permanent battle scar.

Twist bows: If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

Scenery: Literally anything would be more exciting than what I do now. I'd trade places with an acorn just to experience something different for once.

Twist bows: How did you find Alora & what is your favorite thing about it?

Scenery: uTorrent told me about the development of Alora many times before the official release. I postponed joining just because of the sketchy .io url...

Twist bows: What are your hobbies in real life?

Scenery: Afking

Twist bows: Do you prefer PVMING or Gambling?

Scenery: I chose the ironman life to combat the crippling addictions of gambling. Sometimes I manage to swindle some coin from some idio-- I mean friends and make my way down to the duel arena only to come out with a sore forehead covered in sand and nothing left to my name. It's like getting divorced but worse.

Twist bows: What your Alora experience like?

Scenery: As an ironman its complete hell. You want a blowpipe? Better prepare to invest 87 days of your life praying at zulrah before you even think of getting one.

Twist bows: If you could meet up with anyone in the world who would it be?

Scenery: Kim jong un. I bet he's cool but people just give him a hard time because he's new in power. Its like bullying the new staff member on the team.

Twist bows: You're the new Veteran on our team how are you liking it?

Scenery: I've always been a Veteran at heart. The man the myth the legend. It's nothing different than what I've experienced prior to receiving the rank.

Thanks Scenery for sharing your story!

Next on our list is the man himself Tobbo!

Twist bows: Who inspires you?

Tobbo: Utorrent's events definitely served as the inspiration behind mine, they inspired me to give back the community.

Twist bows: Who do you aspire to be like?

Tobbo: When I first started I aspired to be like neeco, well his bank :P

Twist bows: Tell me about the best vacation you’ve ever taken & What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

Tobbo: My best vacation was a couple of years ago with the family (Parents + me steph and the kids) to Flordia. We had an amazing time in Disneyland and universal studios even though the main thing the kids enjoyed was the pool at the hotel fml.. We're away on holiday again on Monday which I think everyone knows now as I keep going on about it, Cannot wait!! Be back on the 28th. As for the scar I wouldn't say I have a wear scar but I do have a few of them.. I've had my gallbladder removed along with my appendix and I've also got a metal place in my jaw.

Twist bows: If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

Tobbo: Donald Trump because I think it would be great to the America for a day and see what I could do.

Twist bows: How did you find Alora & what is your favorite thing about it?

Tobbo: I believe I found it via looking for a RSPS on google, My favorite part is hands down the community (90% of it but every server has its downside lol) Everyone has a really good laugh at gamble most the time and we all get along great. Everyone is really friendly and I literally come online just to chat half the time and chill.

Twist bows: What are your hobbies in real life?

Tobbo: Playing Alora lol

Twist bows: Do you prefer PVMING or Gambling?

Tobbo: That's a silly question. I've hardly done any PVM'ing on the server as I'm far too lazy and as you know I yolo my bank far to often. I had 4b cash left on the 15th went all in won did x2 and won 16b then went all the way to 40b on the 16th I lost 10b cash but gained 6b in items + phats sets + rainbow + ely! Not a bad couple of days!

Twist bows: What your Alora experience like?

Tobbo: Like I've said above, Really enjoyed the server and being a part of the community. So many really friendly people who I speak to on a daily basis. I do hide on a new account now and again to see who's nice and try to reward them sometimes also ;)

Twist bows: If you could meet up with anyone in the world who would it be?

Tobbo: If I could meet up with anyone it would more then likely be Margot Robbie because... its Margot Robbie lol As you may have seen I've got her tattooed on my arm already lol.

thanks Tobbo for sharing your story with us!

#90601 [6/15/17] Killcount milestones, Snakeskin crafting, and more pre-inferno bug...

Posted by Omicron on 14 June 2017 - 11:07 PM

Hey guys,

This update is intended to hold things down while we finalize work on the Inferno, which should be available in Alora in the very near future! Some highly request bug fixes have been implemented, as well as an interesting new Killcount milestone system which boosts NPC drop rates when you hit certain milestones.

Updates:

  • Fixed NPC spawning issue:
    • Some NPCs weren’t spawning in instances in mini-games. This should no longer happen.
  • Killcount Milestone Bonuses:
    • Thanks to @Jare for the idea!
    • To make your endless PVMing experience more enjoyable, we’ve added a new system to give you a bonus when you reach PvM milestones!
      • For example, when reaching 100 kills for Corporeal beast, that drop will have a 5% better chance at loot. On your 500th kill you’ll have a 25% better chance. This % caps out at 33%, so after you’ve reached the 750 milestone it’ll always be 33% increased chance.
        • Example:
          • This means that if an Elysian spirit shield is 1/450 chance, on a milestone kill it’ll be 1/297 instead, making it considerably more obtainable.
        • An in-game notification will tell you when this increased drop rate takes place.
          • You’ll see a purple message that says something like“Your rare loot chance has been increased by 12.5% for your 250th Zulrah kill!”
        • This happens at 100 kills, and every 250 thereafter
          • (eg. 250, 500, 750, 1000, etc)
        • Formula = (killcount / 20) || 33.3%
          • Whichever of these is lower will be used.
        • This is similar to the permanent Uber donator drop rate boost of 7%, which also stacks with this.
  • Void equipment changes:
    • Buy-back price cut in half
  • Corporeal beast core fixes:
    • Dark cores will now de spawn when corp dies.
    • Dark core animations/bonuses fixed.
  • Drop rate changes:
    • It should no longer be possible to get two unique drops (Eg. Two Dagannoth rings) in one drop.
    • Additionally, it is now possible to obtain more than two drops from a boss.
  • Login screen “Last logged in X days ago” added.
    • We’ve removed the “You are logged in from IP / MAC” as some video-makers were forgetting to blur this out in their videos, and it is not necessary for most people anyway.
      • In it’s place, we’ve added the “You last logged in X days ago” function which will show you how long it has been since you’ve logged into the game
  • Duel arena fixes:
    • If you stake any item that you don’t have room for (eg. You’re holding 2.1b in your inventory and win 200m), the winnings will be added to your bank if possible. If not possible, the winnings will be dropped on the ground.
      • Messages will be sent to notify you if the winnings could not be added to your inventory, and whether they were banked or dropped.
    • Forfeit death bug fixed:
      • A bug has been fixed which caused a player to die and lose their items if they forfeited at the exact moment they take the final hit. It was a rare bug that only happened under unique circumstances, but a necessary fix nonetheless.
  • Background updates:
    • Major performance improvements across the board
      • Less CPU/Memory usage which lead to increased stability have been applied.
  • Trading post fixes:
    • Mostly performance enhancements to put less stress on the server, but also a bug fixed when refreshing search results for a player search which would show incorrect search results.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Dragon defender (or) is no longer stackable.
      • This means that it can be bought back from the Lost items manager.
    • Fixed bug that made it possible to pickpocket NPCs more quickly than usual.
    • Fixed misc. bug with cannons
    • ::discord command fixed — link was expired.
    • Staff command update:
      • ::steleto will no longer be silent if teleporting to an administrator.
  • Fixed Quick-prayer bug:
    • After dying (or entering an area where your prayers are automatically turned off), you would have to click twice to turn your quick-prayers back on. This has been fixed so that you must only click once as intended.
  • Giant mole killcount and kill time will now be recorded.
    • They’ll also show up on the boss PvM records lectern at home.
  • Snakeskin crafting:
    • Snakeskin (obtained by killing Zulrah) can now be crafted into different items!
      • Using a needle on a piece of Snakeskin(while having thread in your inventory) will allow you to craft:
        • Snakeskin body, chaps, vambraces, bandana or boots.
          • NOTE: In the GIF below, the wrong amount of required Snakeskins is shown for testing purposes. On the live game, it is matched to OSRS. You need a whopping 15 snakeskins to create just the body.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Item fixes:
      • The Scythe is now tradable.
      • Banshee set and Hunting knife configurations added (and made tradable).
    • Fixed object clipping issue:
      • Eg. Energy barriers at home could not be walked through. Not sure which other objects this affected, but the bug has been entirely fixed.
  • Free-To-Play Shop has been added
    • To assist in gearing for F2P Battle Royale events, you can now access the F2P shop which is located in the shop area and accessed by trading Oziach and contains:
      • Full rune, Fancy boots, Fighting boots, Rune scimitar, Rune battle axe, Rune 2H, Full green d'hide, Amulet of strength & Amulet of power, Coif, Swordfish, Lobster, Normal strength potion, Adamant arrows, Maple shortbow
        • Although most of these items can be bought from other shops, it makes things easier to place them all together. Also, the Fighting boots and Fancy boots are new to Alora and can only be obtained from this shop.
