#81209 Development Blog #4: Construction progress

Hey guys,

I figured I'd keep everyone updated on recent developments on Alora, especially considering we haven't had a development blog in quite some time! As many of you are already aware, we've been working on finishing the final skill that is missing: Construction. This is a huge, huge task with many complexities that I'm currently in the process of understanding, but I'm very excited to complete this skill and to get it into the game as soon as possible for everyone to enjoy!


At this point, we're still technically in the early stages of development for the skill, as we're learning about how a lot of it is done and designing the project properly so that we have a clean, scalable and bug-free system. The focus at the moment is on the generation of the landscape, rooms/walls (including orientation) and objects such as furniture, doors, windows, trees, plants, etc. From there, we will focus on player-interactions to actually create these landscapes/rooms/objects and modify them. Finally, we'll focus on saving/loading, and the extras such as making sure that certain objects (teleport portals) function as intended, and that house options (eg. kicking players, building mode, etc) all work.


As mentioned earlier, we're still in the early stages and there is currently no ETA, but we're working at full speed to get this out as quickly as humanly possible :)

Of course, this will delay content update frequency, and we'll likely see more bug-fixes and small updates while we work on getting Alora's last skill finished and released.


Some media is shown below, although it is very basic and code-generated. This means that I didn't actually "create" the trees/house portal in-game. Nonetheless, we've made great progress so far and I can't wait until we've got more to show you guys!

My suggestion is dmm.Deadman mode will be w2 and w3(atleast 2 worlds).There is few dmm servers all are shit and garbage,also where is none osrs dmm servers.This dmm on alora suggestion will make server to come more bigger,it will brought new players even if they quit dmm they can choose w1.Deadman mode will be 1 month season and after what you will play tournament whitch if you will win 1B.Atleast i very wish sdmm,it does very master if tournament will be or not.Game will have trading post at g.e so you can sell your pk or pvm loot.It will make alora to very big server one of beggist.From all server ppl come and play dmm.I think this server needs dmm this is perfect  server to have dmm and become alora biggest and best server.Dont forget about youtube and hitbox activity.I hope dmm will pass!!!

Agreed, especially now that ironman don't even have to do them. Change it to wildy boss kills for both ironmen and regular accounts.

 

This will increase wilderness activity even more than having pk reqs since no1 tries to get them. Will be crazy in the wildy, with everyone trying to get the boss kills @Omicron

 

Pkers will be happy with increased activity throughout all of wildy as a result, and people attempting to get the completionist cape will be happy as well. Win/Win

Hi, just making a suggestion based on what I've discussed with people.

 

  • The Pking Achievements should be lowered or removed. Currently the only people who can really get it are people in max hybrid gear, and even then most people use teams and multilog in order to get kills. This makes it unfair and difficult for the average person to get Completionist, because most people dont hang around in teams of 5+. The 5 killstreak is fine, but 15 is a bit too high considering the circumstances, as is the 50 kills (maybe lower it to like 20)

How are ultimate ironmen account ever going to complete these PKing achievements. This update could have been thought through a bit better.

 

I suggest killing 50 of each wilderness boss and 75 of each demi-boss as 2 hard achievements.

 

This would make the wilderness more active than the current achievements would. I think right now Ironman accounts would find a way to legally 'boost' the current achievements, however with wilderness boss kills it would give a constant feed to pkers to try and kill the pvmers.

How about replace the pk-achievements for something else?

This seems like a decent way to do it, maybe x amount of wilderness bosses killed or something?

I don't think Ironmen should need to complete all of the PKing achievements in order to receive the completionist monkey. Some of them are nigh-on impossible to complete without boosting or losing a lot of valuable items (10 target kills, 15 killstreak, etc).

Dear reader,

 

Are you also tired of these raggers after lvl 5 ragging you everywhere demanding a payment? Then this is the topic for you to read and change this for ever in this beautiful rsps delivered us by great staff!

The raggers that I have seen who are seriously trying to damage PK/Skill areas in wildy are: Turban Eater and Mourinho. They take great pride in ruining this for all of us other players. Are we going to allow this to happen? I don't think so. 

 

What can we do about it besides of course hating these players in game? We can petition to make one item ragging bannable. I think it would be a great idea if we set at least a minimum of 110k+ risk to be allowed to rag one another after level 5 wilderness. 

 

I prefer ragging to be banned in general since it is a very low kind of thing to do on Runescape, especially on a RSPS. Maybe some people disagree on this so can we at least try to get this rule in place so that we keep making money of these 3 ragger guys trying to ruining the wilderness for us?

Let's get some more useful items in-game?

 

 

Ardougne cloak 4 - Ability to teleport you to the Ardougne farming patch (already in-game) (200 Achievement points)

 

Falador shield 4 - Ability to locate the Giant mole, very useful for hunting pet/crushed nests (150 Achievement points)

 

Fremennik boots 4 - Ability to note Dagannoth bones (150 Achievement points)

 

Explorer's ring 4  - Ability to teleport near the Falador farm (120 Achievement points)

 

 

More can always be added in the future.
