#504724 Aftermath 2025 PvM League Recap

With 2024 coming to an end, another bountiful year has concluded for Aftermath. Having created many positive memories and welcoming many new faces this year, It's unfortunate to see it come to an end. With that being said, we knew we had to kick off the new year right - with an event. 
 
With an affordable buy in of only 50m, we managed a turnout of over 30 members! The rules were simple: Rare drops are assigned a point value and the teams that accrue the most points get rewarded. The event was a massive success and I would like to take a minute to highlight some of the notable achievements and drops from our members. To be clear, all of the teams amassed a LARGE amount of rare drops together, from bosses to raids. Listed here are primarily pets, (1st) drops, and crazy rng.
 
Massive shoutout to 21 for being the driving force behind this event and to Clappy and Gunnstein for putting in time to make sure the scores stayed up to date.

#461583 Change the PJ timer in singles wilderness

No support, it's abundantly clear what has happened to the OSRS wilderness after Singles + was implemented. There's countless video essays from PKers who've shown why it was a bad update. 

 

It kills an entire method of gameplay being Team PKing and kills many historic areas of the wilderness like Mage bank. Deep wild PKing has always had an advantage for larger teams but there's many adequate measures in place to protect Singles or smaller team PKers as well. 

 

As I do stand to benefit from the current way there is an obvious bias but those who are in favor of changing it also have a biased perspective as they stand to benefit with the change. 

 

Killing an entire method of PKing that literally FORCES people to work as teams and has historically in Alora seen dominant teams change over as little as a few months simply because the ones not with the advantage currently are upset doesn't make sense when our wilderness struggles to be active as is. 

 

Let's not forget it also has negative impacts on singles outlast PKing as well as all your opponent has to do is hug a wall, or freeze DD and log out and there's no counter to an action that is almost entirely RNG based. 

 

Tl;dr don't force change, just encourage other teams to become active.

skill issue, everyone complaining about this didnt even do tob when it was easy, just learn the new mechanics. its not hard

I have like 400ish KC on my accounts, username has like 1.4k, everyone on this thread pretty much has TOB kc?

 

Have you tried to run a public group rather than a group of people in your discord with absolute max since the most recent change?

 

Not to mention, there isn't one specific individual complaining about it, it's pretty much whole server, no one runs groups outside of bonus, there are people on this thread 'complaining' that know the mechanics, but adding mechanics isn't helping to make it more active, rather it's been doing the opposite.

 

There's no reason to stomp TOB content into the ground because only a handful of people can run it and you think it's a skill issue, it obviously needs to get scaled down from what it's at right now.

 

 

It's almost as if we're discouraging players from running it or getting into it at this point

 

I'd say this is the most accurate take right now, making barely active content harder to complete for players is / was the wrong move. This just makes the handful of people with already max gear control the price on TOB items like people trying to sell avernic, the most common drop, for ~600m - 900m.

 

Drop rate increases aren't the thing it needs to become active, I would scale down the difficulty of it and/or remove some mechanics.

Just ran a couple of ToB's since the latest update and it was utterely unplayable.

 

Whilst I agree that keeping true to OSRS is in everyones best interest but ToB is already dead content and updating to make Verzik practically impossible to hit unless you have a Scythe is making it worse. Bloat stomps with no animation so you get randomly slapped for between 40-80.. then you're unable to use game features like DWH to decrease Verzik defence to combat the stupid defence increase.

 

Why is dead content being updated to make it worse without any community poll? It's already a struggle to get a team, now when you do, X out of Y you fail due to a team wipe and then you spend 20 mins killing Verzik. If you do succeed you get rewarded with crap.

Suggestion: Allow vote books to be noted, and have the ability to transfer noted vote books to other accounts buy using them on the account it's being moved to.

Fix The Nightmare's drop rates on the Monster Drop Rate Table in quest book.

 

 

Is this in OSRS?:
It's on the OSRS wiki, if possible do it similar just show the range of avg kc for a piece as shown below.

How would this benefit Alora?:
More transparency and doesn't seem glitched when someone looks up the current nightmare drop table being over 2b kills for 1 drop.
