#377612 rogue set effect

Posted by Noa on 21 October 2020 - 06:42 AM

What is your suggestion?: Currently the rogue set effect gives 18%chance to double the loot you pickpocket from an npc. Make it 20% for each piece of the set and 100% chance to double when you have the full set

Is this in OSRS?: yes  https://oldschool.ru...Rogue_equipment

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: no

How would this benefit Alora?: makes rogue set actually really worth getting, and its on osrs so I don't see a reason to not add this easy fix

#377544 Construction training

Posted by Minken on 20 October 2020 - 11:57 AM

What is your suggestion?: Being able to use the numbers on your keyboard, to do train construction. Since it can be tedious on the hand.

Is this in OSRS?: Yes it is, which is less tedious on the fingers / on your hand.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: Not that i am aware of.

How would this benefit Alora?: Helping people doing construction, and helping the players hands. It works the same way as when talking to npcs.

#377484 HCIM Sick Skiller's Progress Thread [Updated 10/30/2020]

Posted by Sick Skiller on 19 October 2020 - 11:28 PM

I am still working on organizing my bank, slowly.  I'm sorry it's taking so long!

Lasted Updated on: November 1st, 2020

Update:

Lucky Imps: 315/1,000
Dragon Imps: 510/1,000

I found a new meta for HCIM Skilling crafting XP, and that's chiseling amethyst bolt tips at 83 crafting, which of course turned all my previous plans on their head.  I have been all over the board lately in terms of skilling.  I have just gotten 99 mining as I was collecting coal to get 99 smithing.  I plan on getting 99 smithing with only runite bars at the blast furnace.  I won't smith the bars until post 99, to get the most XP out of it.  I also recently got 95 fletching, and with that I have been able to use my dragon dart tips.  I currently have 57/100 unidentified minerals for superior mining gloves.

In between those major tasks, I am thieving to try and make a 100M cash stack, as well as occasionally mining coal to stock up for future smithing efforts.

Objective:

This post is to help me keep track, and anyone else that is interested, in the progress of my hardcore ironman skilling account, Sick Skiller. My ultimate and end goal is to achieve every 99 in non combat related stats, while keeping all combat related stats at level 1 (10 for hitpoints). It shall also have all non skilling pets as well, and a well organized bank.

Achievements:

Beaver Pet - 04/09/2018
Rock Golem - 14/09/2018 (Second one, came 2 inventories of coal after the first)
85 Mining - 15/09/2018
90 Thieving - 29/02/2019
Heron - 10/03/2019
Baby Chinchompa - 24/03/2019
89 Hunter - 24/03/2019
99 Agility - 29/03/2019
99 Cooking - 7/7/2019
99 Fishing - 10/7/2019
99 Thieving - 10/7/2019
Rift Guardian Pet - 20/7/2019
Prospectors Set - 30/10/2020

99 Mining - 1/11/2020

Current Pets:

Beaver
Rock Golem (3)
Heron
Baby Chinchompa
Rift Guardian

Old Stats: Current Stats:

Bank:

WusphUO.png

Current Goals:

99 Crafting
90 Farming
80 Agility
90 Runecrafting
80 Herblore
99 Fishing
-- Previous List--
80 Construction
90 Thieving
60 Agility
60 Runecrafting
70 Mining
70 Smithing

Notes:

I am in the process of trying to organize my bank for a picture. This is proving to be more difficult as I gain more stuff. I also am not having much lucky with getting the thriving pet, Rocky, from the master farmer.

I have quite the variety of a bank with the option to go in several directions in many skills. My pet tab is also filling up and I only have one of my "current goals" left even though I haven't been paying attention to that much. I am trying to collect irit herbs through farming whilst I hammer away on hunting.

I have 99 Construction banked with the double xp book and plan on getting that in the upcoming week. I made a lot of progress on several skills and I feel like it was an over all good weekend for levels gained. I took note that I hit my first level 90+ skill, and soon will have the first level 99 skill. Things on this account are starting to shape up!

#377479 Selenagomez Beginner Solo Cox Guide

Posted by selenaG on 19 October 2020 - 09:51 PM

Hello Everyone, I decided that I'm decent enough at raids, and a lot of people on server are asking for a cox guide (now that its been reworked). I've put one together for you guys. Some clips are a little scuffed, but essentially all of them show you how to complete the room. There is no audio besides the olm fight so there will be a text guide for the room, and then the video linked below it.

Thanks to everyone from #Dynasty who's taught me how to raid.

GEAR:

First off, what should your inventory look like while scouting raids? If you're soloing (Which you should be since you're reading this guide) you will always want a axe and a pickaxe in your inventory. Here's what my usual inventory looks like when I'm starting a raid.

Capes: Melee:Fire_cape.png?2a991<Infernal_cape.png?3f2b7. Range:Ava%27s_assembler.png?06938 Mage:Zamorak_cape.png?d909a<Imbued_zamorak_cape.png?f2ebc

Boots: Melee:Dragon_boots.png?e6499<Primordial_boots.png?dbc06. Range:Ranger_boots.png?64679<Pegasian_boots.png?dbc06. Mage:Infinity_boots.png?6a89d<Eternal_boots.png?1f7be

Melee Weapons:Abyssal_tentacle.png?75cc9<Blade_of_saeldor.png?d4723<Ghrazi_rapier.png?7b872<Dragon_hunter_lance.png?2a155(olm)<Scythe_of_vitur.png?5672e

Range Weapons:Toxic_blowpipe.png?55c5b<Dragon_hunter_crossbow.png?a35fa(olm)<Twisted_bow.png?029ba

Mage Weapons:Trident_of_the_seas.png?4d8db<Trident_of_the_swamp.png?a473f<Sanguinesti_staff.png?9260c

Defenders:Dragon_defender.png?b874d<Avernic_defender.png?5119c

Pickaxes:Rune_pickaxe.png?b0b7b<Dragon_pickaxe.png?eb89d<Crystal_pickaxe.png?41819

Axes:Rune_axe.png?0281a<Dragon_axe.png?92c79<Crystal_axe.png?41819

Spec Weapons:Crystal_halberd.png?ac4a4<Dragon_warhammer.png?27308  ( I don't think any other spec weapons should be brought)

Amulets: Melee:Amulet_of_fury.png?18b7f<Amulet_of_torture.png?8ba0e. Range:Amulet_of_fury.png?18b7f<Necklace_of_anguish.png?1f378. Mage:No need to bring a mage necklace.

Rooms:

Crabs:150px-Jewelled_Crab.png?5c8ba

Extremely easy room. You will need to hit every crystal with a certain type of attack style depending on what color the crystal is.

Black CrystalWHITE (no attack style)

Purple Crystal GREEN (range)

Blue Crystal = RED (melee)

Yellow Crystal BLUE (mage)

(not my video but its the video i learned from, I will update with my own video on alora once I get this room again)

Guardians:130px-Guardian_%28Chambers_of_Xeric%2C_f

For this room you will need a pickaxe. Pot up for melee, turn on piety attack it and run out of distance for it to attack you back. Repeat until both are dead. Very easy room.

Ice Demon:170px-Ice_demon.png?c9bce

Another very easy room. You will be using melee equipment, and praying mage. Chop the tree's and put the branches in the 4 braziers until the bar turns fully green. He will then become attackable. He will attack with a 3 rowice barrage which you can dodge very easy by moving out of it right before he attacks.

Muttadile:250px-Muttadile.png?55798

Pretty hard room with safespot removed. Use range equipment and pray vs mage/range. While the baby muta is alive the baby will use a range attack and the big one will use a mage attack, if timed correctly you can pray vs both. After you kill the small one the big mother will come out and fight you, she uses mage/range attacks at random so just pray vs one and nuke her down. (they can also melee).

Mystics:75px-Skeletal_mystic_%281%29.png?e6ba0

Semi-Hard room. Use range equipment, pray mage. Try to lure one away from the rest so you are only fighting 1 of them at a time, if you are eating damage from 2-3 of them you will not have a good time and likely die. (Salve ammy works great on them)

https://youtu.be/9kMKcFRXtS8

Tightrope:150px-Deathly_ranger.png?81b90150px-Deathly_mage.png?28249

Very easy room. Use range. Doesnt matter range/mage you kill first kill them one at a time. Pray mage for magers, range for rangers. Once all are dead cross the tightrope get the keystone and move on to the next room ( you can drop the keystone once picked up).

https://youtu.be/UYTF6SFw1dc

Vasa:250px-Vasa_Nistirio.png?ae39f

Pretty easy room. Use melee equipment. Attack her until she goes to a crystal, you must then kill the crystal or she will attack you for 33 damage and stun you. If you kill the crystal she will not do this attack. Pray range whenever shes not at a crystal.

https://youtu.be/9AOkgHNd29I

Vespula:280px-Vespula.png?09658

Extremely easy room. Use range, pray redemption (make redemption a quick prayer) and attack the portal. When redemption pops (if it does) drink a restore turn it back on, rinse repeat until room is completed.

https://youtu.be/-ocibECUdLs

Tekton:220px-Tekton.png?a32ab

Pretty hard room depending on if he has bugged hp or not.  Pray melee, use melee. Try to drag him away from his forge when attackable so you can attack him on his way back to his forge.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tClbQsaNfPY

Vanguards: 280px-Vanguard_%28magic%29.png?db160

Not a hard room, but kinda annoying. Pray melee the entire time. Run under the ranger when you walk in room, range the mager (usually the one highest in the room(see picture above thats the mage)). Once dead melee the range, after thats dead mage the melee. Take your overload and move on!

FINAL BOSS OLM:300px-Great_Olm.png?f1081

In my opinion one of the easiest rooms in the entire raid after the rework. You will want to pray mage almost the entire time unless you are good at running the head, I'm pretty decent at running head but I still like to keep mage overhead on incase I mess up, I don't want to take too much damage.

Red portal: A crystal will fly down on top of you and deal big damage, either pray melee vs it or move 2 tiles away. Once you're good enough you can run head and run away from crystals at the same time.

1st phase: kill the mage hand completely with mage, then kill the melee hand completely.  While killing the melee hand if you have (i believe its a 4 tick weapon) you can hit the melee hand 2 times before having to run back to make the head turn the other way.

2nd phase: Start on melee hand using melee until it heals or clenchs. From then on mage down the other hand until its pretty low (1-2 max hits)(if venom try to kill both hands as equal as possible so venom doesnt kill mage hand). Once mage hand is pretty low you want to completely kill the melee hand. Once melee hand is dead quickly kill the mage hand and now the 3rd phase will start.

3rd phase: Olm will instantly shoot out 2 blue pools which if not stood in will restore health to him and drain some from you. He will also shoot them out periodically throughout the head phase. Dodge crystals and run head (I like to pray melee so crystals dont hurt so much and run head) Make sure to stand in pools or pray mage vs them as they hit pretty hard and heal olm quite a bit.

4th Phase :COLLECT YOUR LOOT!!!!

https://youtu.be/ab_ymmGVPmE

Farming

You might need to do some farming inside the raid for supplies as they do not drop randomly anymore (some combat rooms still drop supplies).

There's 3 different herbs inside cox : Golpar.png?14d5b Golpar, Buchu_leaf.png?819c4Buchu, Noxifer.png?14d5bNoxifer

There is also 3 different secondaries:Stinkhorn_mushroom.png?90c74 Stinkhorn Mushroom, Endarkened_juice.png?92df3Endarkened Juice, Cicely.png?f641c Cicely

Now heres a guide on how to make each potion inside of cox!

#377453 Feedback October 2020

Posted by Omicron on 19 October 2020 - 03:22 PM

I'll try to address all of the points you've proposed as best as I can so that you can see our side of this, as I now have a better insight into yours (and that of numerous other members of the community). Firstly, the Chambers of Xeric rework has certainly been in need of some attention to tie up the last few loose ends with it -- it was a huge update to change the raid from a single layout to a dynamically generated system and there were bound to be bugs, and while a few bugs being present is clearly not the issue here, I would like to apologize for the delay in these fixes being applied to the actual server. I know it is difficult to know exactly what goes on behind the scenes, and all of those bugs are actually already patched up (among a plethora of updates that are waiting to be pushed) but some unexpected IRL circumstances have caused us to push back the update schedule a few times this past month. Some staff members who've helped us beta test this week could also attest to the fact that we do have a sizeable update planned for this week, which you'll also be able to see for yourself shortly. Also, the idea that the Eternal donator rank has somehow slowed down the update schedule is simply incorrect, the Eternal donator rank has only been worked on the past few days, the rest of the month has been spent fixing up CoX and other bugs, as well as adding in a huge amount of new content (Tithe Farm, Mahogany Homes, new RuneLite plugins, a Vote Shop expansion, an in-game Lottery system, and much more). We know that there's no way for you to know that we're working on all of this, which leads me to my next point: communication. With that being said, hopefully you can also sympathize with us and understand that sometimes things happen in our lives that we cannot control.

Communication has been an issue for awhile now, as Chad and I scramble to rush updates out (as a 2-person development team) we do sometimes lose sight of the big picture and neglect the communication aspect. It isn't something we intend to do, it simply makes more sense to us to put our time and energy into developing these updates to have a healthy, constant flow of new content and bug fixes, as well as responding to all the PMs that we receive daily and keeping in touch with the higher up staff team to make sure that things are running smoothly. That isn't an excuse, and we have made attempts to change this, such as providing more development blogs, but that has admittedly slowed down as the summer has ended. We understand your concern though, and I really would like to change this by planning out future updates on a stricter schedule with more consistent development blogs.

As for the rank, as I mentioned it is something that we've worked on this week and some of you may have noticed the usergroup on the active members list. I'll address a few points here to allow you to understand why we are adding it, and hopefully you'll come out with a different view of the rank. To preface, we have never proposed a previous donator rank. We do sometimes poll updates that affect Alora in a massive way, but donator ranks have not fallen under this category as they have always been a part of Alora. The fact of the matter is that Alora requires income to operate, and without income we would not be able to advertise or provide the development or support that we have for nearly 4 years now. The store, and the donator ranks that go with it have always been a part of Alora. I understand how seeing us working on a new donator rank after a month without updates may leave a bad taste in your mouth, and that goes back to the communication point, because we absolutely never intended to release this rank without the massive update that we've been working on.

As you can imagine, after 4 years of uptime (longer than most servers last), store purchases are nowhere near where they were when Alora was first released. This is simply a side effect of having a mature economy -- nobody is purchasing whips from the store anymore, and to be fair custom donations for rank account for most of Alora's income nowadays as people don't need to purchase anything from the store. How can we counter this? Well, we can slowly start adding new over-powered items to the store to entice people more, but I don't think anyone wants to see those sorts of items in the store. Instead, a donator rank that a few will marginally benefit from, but will massively benefit Alora in staying alive as long as we possibly could seems like the best option to us. The way things are at the moment, we'd be forced to start cutting advertisements sometime in the next few months to make sure that Alora isn't losing money. Expenses to operate a private server are not cheap, especially if you care about the longevity of the server and want to ensure that there's a steady influx of new players.

Aside from that, the Eternal rank is simply a prestige rank -- yes, there are a few new perks (such as being able to transfer your rank more regularly) but at the end of the day it isn't anything that threatens the integrity of the game, and ultimately the addition of this rank will do more good than bad as it will allow us to keep providing the best support and content that we possibly can.

I hope that my explanation allows you to get a better understanding of the reason why we add new ranks, and that we aren't looking at Alora as something that we just want to milk and turn our backs on. We're still here, we're still working hard on bringing you the best experience that we can, and we still care about the game and our community that has supported us for the past 4 years. At the end of the day, we're here because you guys have supported us through it all and trusted us when it comes to operating the server that we're proud to have you call home. On top of that, we've always listened to our community where it counts and have made the necessary changes to protect the integrity of the game, even if we admittedly could do better with communication.
