Let's start off with Moe...

 

gim deathkid: How do you find the time to do all these events during the weekend and still have such a social and entertaining life beside it? (Question by @Sheep).

Moe: To answer your question Sheep, it's really a mix of planning & my good friends. Even though I host events on the weekend, we've been able to still go on beach trips, hang out at each other's houses, and go out to eat! It's part of my friend's routine to make sure I have a PC/Net anywhere we go, even if in a car. LOL

 

gim deathkid: What event do you enjoy the most?

Moe: If you asked me before LMS came out, it would definitely be Flower Poker. However it is for sure the current LMS system, and I'm excited for when we have both options!

 

gim deathkid: What is your next EIM grind now that you have obtained those green boots (rangers)?

Moe: I'm currently working on grinding raids and GWD gear, but I do have plans to eventually max out too.

 

gim deathkid: Can you give us any insights/teasers on some new events you have planned?

Moe: There has been recently a lot of PKers coming back, and I have some nice combo style pking coming soon!

 

gim deathkid: If you could travel anywhere in the world for free, where would it be and why?

Moe: South Korea/Japan hard choice between the two, I would love to enjoy that culture + advancements in technology too.

 

gim deathkid: What do you enjoy most about being Event Manager here on Alora?

Moe: The community, for sure. The amount of engagement I get with the boys ranges from fun at events to deep spiritual talks to casual raid nights is AWESOME! I couldn't ask for more .

revitalize: Hi, I’m Branden I'm 20 years old and spend way to much time on the computer.

 

gim deathkid: What tip would you give someone starting an HC?

revitalize: Get graceful, And then start training hunter :).

revitalize: I’ve had so many close calls it’s kinda sad LOL, I got ring of lifed twice to vorkath.

 

gim deathkid: When do you plan on making your 6th Hardcore Ironman? (@11 wants to know).

revitalize: This is the last one (kappa) I’m very burnt out at the moment, been grinding Minecraft.

 

gim deathkid: What do you enjoy most about Alora?

revitalize: The Great comradery of Dynasty Clan, my family for life.

 

gim deathkid: If you could change one thing about Alora, what would it be?

revitalize: I would like to see the wilderness more active!

Hello everyone,

 

Today's Development Blog will allow us to give the community some insight on our next update, the long awaited Chambers of Xeric rework. We've been working on this update for the last couple of months as a side project, and we've now reached the point where we're close enough to release to give a sneak peak and tell you about what will change for those of you who raid often. We're thrilled to be able to release this for all of you to enjoy very shortly, and we hope you're just as thrilled as we are :)

 

 

Here is an overview of the upcoming changes:

• Layout randomization:
  • Those of you who have raided on Alora know that there has only been one layout/map for the past few years, which gets repetitive very quickly. When we initially release CoX, we were the first RSPS to do so and releasing one layout allowed us to get the update out more quickly. Nearly three years later, and after many suggestions, we've decided to dive back into the code for this raid and rewrite it to support randomization of the layout.
    • Following this update, every single raid will have a unique pattern.
      • There are millions of possible layouts, so you're sure to be kept on your toes when raiding.
• New chambers:
  • A few of the chambers in the Chambers of Xeric were entirely missing, so we've made sure to add these rooms into the reworked version of CoX. The following chambers have been re-added:
    • Vespula chamber:
      • In the chamber will be Vespula herself (a parasitic wasp), four lux grubs and an abyssal portal. The portal must be destroyed to dispel Vespula and her offspring.
    • Guardian chamber:
      • Two Guardian statues are guarding a passageway deeper into the chambers. The statues must be destroyed, as they will shove players away from the passageway if they try to get past them. They can only be harmed through pickaxes, best set to the Smash attack style; all other sources of damage will not count.
    • Jewelled crab chamber:
      • This puzzle room will require you to use your wits to turn all of the colored crystals in the chamber white, by using the jewelled crabs to reflect the orbs that the sculpture in the room continuously emits. This will take some technique to figure out, but it will give a nice non-combat aspect to the raid.
    • Resource chambers:
      • A few resource chambers have been re-added, which will allow you to farm/hunt/fish more efficiently within the raid.
        • You'll now be able to create your own potions by picking Gourd vials, farming the necessary herbs and mixing them yourself in a resource room.
• RuneLite CoX plugin:
  • The RuneLite plugin for the Chambers of Xeric will now work perfectly, allowing you to see the layout of the raid before you enter. This will allow you to decide whether you'd like to leave and attempt to obtain another layout before entering.
  • The plugin will also track how long you've been in this raid, which will come in handy for those of you who strive to beat the raids time records.

 

There are also many miscellaneous changes on top of this overview, but these are the most important changes, particularly the layout randomization which required a near-full rewrite of the raids code. While we don't have an exact ETA as we are still testing and ensuring that this content meets your expectations before releasing, we will say that it is our primary focus at the moment and will be the very next update that Alora receives.

gim deathkid: What are your plans now that you're maxed XP?

Kaamea: The main goal, for now, is to get a 5th twisted bow as drop, so everyone in our team could have their own and of course passively try to obtain some cool pets.

 

gim deathkid: What does it feel like to be on the greatest GIM team ever to exist on Alora and does it help your dating life? (Question submitted by TenFour).

Kaamea: It feels absolutely amazing and as of right now, no it hasn't helped me yet in my dating life unfortunately.

 

gim deathkid: MT would like to know the story behind you being the head of the Veteran team. Could you possibly give us some insight on this?

Kaamea: I seen someone use that title on a different RSPS, if I'm not wrong his name was Fergus. I used to play a RSPS where the veteran rank was held more superior than staff rank, so kinda ripped it off from there, but overall it is just a meme.

 

gim deathkid: Where does the name "Kaamea" come from?

Kaamea: I was looking for a new name for my Runescape account around 2012 or so. Might be confusing the year, but who cares, and I was mainly looking for a unique name and just came across the word. It honestly describes my personality well too "grisly".

 

Next up, Code 002!

 

gim deathkid: Can you walk us through your emotions of watching Classic get the Inquisitor’s plateskirt right in front of you?

Code 002: I knew this was going to happen..... Mans RNG is absolutely fking bonkers at NM, I don't really know what I was expecting tbh. What's worse is that we were LITERALLY talking about it waiting for "that kill" to spawn.... Soon as I saw the announcement, my heart sank slightly. Idek what my drop was I just logged out, silenced Discord, Played "The Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance, and opened up WOW. Of course after blocking Classic for a solid day.

 

gim deathkid: What do you plan on grinding once you’re done with The Nightmare?

Code 002: Well I'm really trying to simultaneously Comp and just get the first set of Inquisitor's on an Ironman Game mode. But after NM, I'd have to say the next two options I'm thinking is either The Gauntlet or CoX. Havn't done that many CoX, recently learned how to solo and was getting the hang of it for those few days.

 

gim deathkid: We’ve had a lot of QoL updates recently, which one do you like best? If you could add another QoL update, what would it be?

Code 002: Honestly my most liked recent QoL would 100% have to be the entirety of Runelite. I spent a good chunk of time using it during OSRS's Twisted League. So having all of these plugins and the plethora of QoL tools makes me feel at home. Now for a QoL I would like to have added is not really a QoL? I just want

 

gim deathkid: What are your long-term goals on Alora? Do you plan on going for max XP?

Code 002: I've always had a fancy for the collection log, so I might pursue that. I'm a man of smaller goals and will usually change my mind last minute before I start another grind.

gim deathkid: What made you stay on the staff team for so long?

MT: I wanted to be the person that players come to when they need help with anything in the game. Also because being Head Server Support helped me be a positive role model for other server supports. I provided them the tools to excel and rise up in the staff team, and it makes me happy to see how much they have grown since joining the staff team.

 

gim deathkid: Do you feel like your role as a Server Support has helped your experience on Alora?

MT: I definitely feel my role as a Server Support has helped my experience on Alora. I feel that I had a positive influence in the community and that’s all I can ask for. I also learned a lot along the way, and met some awesome people.

 

gim deathkid: What does your next chapter include now that you have left Alora? Do you have any plans/goals IRL? 

MT: Now that I have more free time on my hands due to finishing uni a while back, I’m looking to do videos again on my main YouTube channel. I’m not going to do content on “Moral Alora” anymore as I don’t have much interest to play the game these days. As for IRL, I hope to eventually find a better job so I can leave my retail job that I’ve had for over 5 years. Job searching during a pandemic can be quite difficult, without a doubt.

 

gim deathkid: What was your favorite piece of content on Alora?

MT: Flower Poker tournaments on Fridays was pretty fun to do. Was the only way to play FP as staff, and I’ve only won one tournament once because Moe planted for my GIM lol.
